Should You Buy the alcatel A62? Review and Full Specs

The alcatel A62 is a brand-new Android 15 entry-level phone that arrived in November 2025, and it targets buyers who want the biggest possible screen and battery for the smallest possible price. This alcatel A62 Android 15 entry level phone review looks at the phone the way a buyer would: screen, speed, camera, battery and price, without pretending it competes with phones that cost three times as much. If you are asking should you buy alcatel A62 in 2025, the honest answer is that it fits a clear group of people: first-time smartphone owners, parents buying a phone for a child, and anyone who mainly calls, messages, watches video and browses, while heavier users will feel its limits quickly.

The alcatel A62 announced November 18 2025 release date makes it one of the freshest budget phones you can buy, with the alcatel A62 release date falling in November 2025. That matters because a phone launched with Android 15 starts life on a current version of Android instead of an older one, and the alcatel A62 price of around 70 euros puts it in the cheapest tier of new smartphones in Europe. This alcatel A62 review battery life and performance section starts with the two numbers that matter most: a 5010 mAh battery and a 90Hz screen.

alcatel A62 at a Glance

The alcatel A62 full specifications and price in Europe are set out in the table further down this page, but the short version is easy to remember: a 6.8-inch 90Hz display, a Unisoc T7200 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, a 5010 mAh battery with 10W charging, a fingerprint sensor and Android 15. With the alcatel A62 price around 70 euros value for money is the whole point of this phone, and every part of it is chosen to keep the price down while keeping the everyday experience usable. An alcatel A62 vs other budget phones under 100 euros comparison comes down to screen size and battery, and on those two points the A62 is hard to beat at this price.

• Display: 6.8-inch IPS LCD, 90Hz, 720 x 1600 pixels
• Chipset: Unisoc T7200 (12 nm) with Mali-G57 MP1 graphics
• Memory: 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, microSD expansion
• Rear camera: 13MP with LED flash; front camera: 5MP
• Battery: 5010 mAh with 10W charging
• Security: fingerprint sensor
• Software: Android 15
• Price: around 70 EUR

An alcatel A62 screen size comparison with other alcatel phones shows it sitting at the large end of the range, which is exactly why it appeals to buyers who watch a lot of video on their phone. The alcatel A62 unboxing experience is simple, with the phone, a charging cable and the usual paperwork, and alcatel A62 accessories such as cases and screen protectors are the sensible first extras, since an alcatel A62 case is cheap protection for a phone meant to be used every day.

Design and Display

A Big Screen for Everyday Viewing

The alcatel A62 display is the star of the phone. The alcatel A62 6.8 inch display 90Hz refresh rate combination is the headline feature, because a screen this large with a 90Hz refresh rate is rare at around 70 euros. The alcatel A62 screen measures 6.8 inches across, so video, reading and browsing all feel roomy, and the smoother scrolling of the 90Hz panel makes the phone feel more responsive than its price suggests. The alcatel A62 720p display sharpness and viewing angles are acceptable for video and reading, even though the 720 x 1600 resolution will not look as crisp as a 1080p panel when you hold the phone close. The alcatel A62 design build quality and display brightness are modest but practical, with a plastic body that keeps the phone light and a screen that stays readable indoors and in shade. The alcatel A62 colours are muted and understated, and the alcatel A62 weight stays reasonable for a phone with a 6.8-inch screen and a 5010 mAh battery inside.

Build and Fingerprint Security

The alcatel A62 design is plain and functional, which is the right call at this price: no fragile glass back, no slippery curves, just a solid slab that is easy to hold and easy to grip. The alcatel A62 fingerprint sensor and security features give owners a quick way to unlock the phone without typing a PIN every time, and the alcatel A62 fingerprint reader sits where your finger naturally rests, so unlocking becomes second nature after a day or two. The alcatel A62 connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for everyday use, and the alcatel A62 dual SIM connectivity and network bands cover the 4G essentials for calls and data, which is useful for buyers who keep a work number and a personal number in one phone. For audio, the alcatel A62 speakers are loud enough for calls, video and alarms, and for buyers who still use wired earphones, the alcatel A62 audio quality speaker and headphone jack question is worth checking before purchase.

Performance and Software

Unisoc T7200 in Daily Use

The alcatel A62 chipset is the Unisoc T7200, a 12 nm octa-core chip with Mali-G57 MP1 graphics. The alcatel A62 performance is modest but honest: messaging, calls, browsing, social apps and video streaming all run fine, while heavy games and demanding apps will ask more of the chip than it can comfortably give. In an alcatel A62 Unisoc T7200 processor performance test, expect steady speed for everyday tasks rather than benchmark fireworks, and published alcatel A62 benchmarks are scarce, so the fairest way to judge the chip is by what it does in daily use. The alcatel A62 12nm chipset efficiency and heat management are helped by the modest clock speeds and the large body, so the phone should stay cool during long video sessions. The alcatel A62 specs on the processor side are entry-level, and buyers who understand that will not be disappointed.

Gaming on the Mali-G57 MP1

The alcatel A62 gaming experience is built around light titles and casual play. The alcatel A62 gaming performance and everyday use case is simple games, puzzles, card games and older titles at modest settings, and the large screen actually makes casual gaming more enjoyable than the chipset alone would suggest. Demanding 3D games will run, but expect lower graphics settings and longer loading times, so gamers who play competitively should look at a more powerful phone.

Multitasking With 4GB of RAM

The alcatel A62 RAM is 4GB, which is the minimum that feels comfortable on Android 15. The alcatel A62 4GB RAM 64GB storage performance is adequate for light use, and the alcatel A62 multitasking with 4GB RAM and apps works best when you keep the number of open apps small and close the ones you are not using. The alcatel A62 storage is 64GB, which holds the system, a healthy set of apps and a fair number of photos, and the alcatel A62 storage expansion microSD card support lets owners add space beyond the built-in 64GB when the gallery starts to fill up.

Android 15 Out of the Box

The alcatel A62 software is Android 15, and shipping with the current version of Android is one of the best things about this phone. The alcatel A62 Android 15 setup brings modern privacy controls, notification handling and accessibility options, and the alcatel A62 software update and Android 15 features story starts well, because the phone begins life on Android 15 rather than needing an update to get there. As with most phones at this price, an alcatel A62 update to a future Android version is not guaranteed, so buyers should enjoy the Android 15 experience the phone ships with and check for security patches as they arrive. The interface is close to plain Android, which keeps things simple for first-time owners and for the alcatel A62 for seniors simple phone and large screen audience, who benefit from large text, a large display and a straightforward home screen.

Camera Quality

Rear Camera in Daylight

The alcatel A62 camera setup is simple: a single 13MP rear camera with an LED flash. On paper, the alcatel A62 13MP camera quality and photo samples point to solid daylight results, where a 13MP sensor can produce clean, shareable images for social media and family chats. The alcatel A62 photos taken in daylight look best when the light is even, and the LED flash helps with close-up shots indoors. The alcatel A62 low light camera performance and night mode are the weakest part of the camera, as they are on almost every phone at this price: expect soft, noisy shots after dark, and use the flash or a steady hand when the light drops.

Selfies and Video Calls

The alcatel A62 front camera 5MP selfie quality review verdict is simple: fine for video calls and the occasional selfie, but not a camera for detailed portraits. The 5MP front camera handles video calls well, which is what most buyers will use it for, and the large screen makes framing a call easy. The alcatel A62 video recording from the rear camera covers everyday clips, and an alcatel A62 video recording quality and stabilisation test would show usable clips in good light and shakier ones when moving, so keep the phone steady and the light bright for the best results.

Battery Life and Charging

Two-Day Potential on a Single Charge

The alcatel A62 battery is a 5010 mAh unit, and it is the second headline feature after the screen. The alcatel A62 5010 mAh battery life and charging time figures tell a simple story: a large battery plus a power-efficient 12 nm chipset and a 720p display means the phone sips power, so light users can realistically expect up to two days between charges, while heavy video watchers will still get through a full day with room to spare. This is the part of the phone that most buyers will notice every day, because a phone that stays out of the way is one that does not need charging at noon.

10W Charging in Practice

The alcatel A62 charging is 10W, which is slow by modern standards. An alcatel A62 10W charging speed and battery drain test would show slow top-ups and slow drain, so the practical advice is to charge overnight: plug in before bed and the phone is full in the morning. The slow charging is the price paid for the low price tag, and since the battery lasts so long, most owners will only need to charge every second day anyway.
