Any weakness some signal causes disconnect to the cloud server."? by the way users, this company does not Bill through Play Store; it bills you directly through your credit card through their website, and when the apps don't work you can't get your money back. 365 is a ripoff, as the desktop browser is non-functional, and has not been updated in 7 years.

puffin was the only browser that actually did things that certain websites require to navigate. sometimes you would need to right click or do a keyboard input, and while it was imperfect puffin was the only that could let you do it with only a touchscreen. it was also my only way to play flash games for a long time, until people made ruffle. but it's practically impossible to use because of the most anti-consumer pay wall possible, you pay per hour for a browser. nobody's done that in decades.

Used to be a fantastic browser for using desktop-only websites and playing flash games. But the 'subscription to use' monster strikes again. Now it forces you to pay a subscription only 30 seconds after opening the app. There's NO free or pay-to-own option. It even has an option for a subscription that renews DAILY, which is ridiculous. Dont waste your time, just download a free browser like Firefox or Brave.

I never said I pirated your software, I just moved to free and open source competition.

Puffin is set up as a free download on the play store, but the app is completely, and I mean 100%, locked off without a subscription. I find this to be such a terrible business practice from an ethical standpoint. There are many ways to monetarily support a free app without baiting customers into downloading a free browser, only to immediately cut them off with a forced "subscribe or hit the road" model. Terrible anti-consumerism practices gets you a 1 star rating.

I got the ORIGINAL App years ago and PAID for it with a login. Now I get ads and now my login is no longer accepted and I have to pay for a subscription? That is a bait and switch! I am not paying again for this app. It's too buggy anyway so not worth anybody paying for it. Edit: Regardless of the developers response 3 things remain true: 1. I PAID for the full version of the app a few years ago without ads. 2. They canceled that and switched to a subscription based service. 3. I WAS SCAMMED!

Been using this free browser for a while now, all of sudden I have to have a subscription just to do anything on it? The ads weren't even that bad... Edit: The only reason I used this app was because it was free and still supported adobe flash, it doesn't matter how cheap you made the subscription options. Edit 2: I had the legit Puffin app on my phone, not the pirated version. I uninstalled the app when you guys decided to add paid subscriptions just to do anything on it.

I've been using puffin for a few years now, never mind the ads or the 2-hour usage limit. I wouldn't mind a single-time fee of $10 to $15 for a premium version from Google, but I won't put my personal card information directly into the app for a recurring charge. If you release a premium version for sale here I would gladly buy, but sadly I'm sure this app will die soon. Worked perfectly before you pushed too hard for subscriptions. Used to be free with ads, then free for one hour per day, now it is not free. Monthly membership required now. Only redeeming quality is that it's flash enabled, but there are other free browsers that are flash enabled as well. Also cloud mosa, stop accusing users of having a pirated version of puffin browser. Only one puffin browser shows up when you search in Google play store and it is your own browser, so if it's "pirated" then it's a problem with your own coding, keep disappointing.

Horrible. Used to be a good, free, well functioning browser. Now it's a paid-subscription buggy mess. But I am not paying to do what other applications do for free, and better. Oh yeah! And just about anyone leaving bad reviews they immediately claim has pirated their app. The reason it says I don't have it, is because I uninstalled the app bc it's a waste of memory

This used to be my browser of choice when I wanted to trick websites into thinking I was using a computer (request Desktop version doesn't work 100% of the time on Firefox), but now, the app forces you into buying a subscription. It claims I've hit some daily limit when I haven't even used it in months. A shame that Puffin, a once highly respected app, has fallen to this sort of greed. And now they even accuse 1 star reviewers of pirating this app, when we most certainly didn't. I sure didn't.

Puffin used to be a great free browser despite the ads, but now you can't use it without paying for a subscription and just seems like a cash grab. Highly recommend other browsers now. Update: It doesn't make much difference on how cheap you made the subscriptions, you still changed it from something that was free and started charging for it. No one is going to want a $0.05 or $0.25 charge on their card. UPDATE 2: I dont have pirated anything on my phone. Thank you for your concern though :)

It was an amazing web browser that allowed flash to run without much issue. The ads that were there basically only popped up when you started flash once or twice. It was even free, albeit for 1 hour a day. Now it's required subscription, ads without warning, maybe 'buggy' you might say. OH but don't worry it's 'free'... at least free to install lol (I liked it back then, I'd even deal with more ads as long as they only appeared when starting a new tab, switching tabs, or starting flash.)

It sometimes says "no internet connection" even though I have full bars ,besides that it's a great app with flash support Edit: how the mighty do fall.. Used to be the best Browser for android, now it's an almost unusable cashgrab app, run by passive agressive developers who seem to think that "buy our previously free software or get lost" is a good PR Strategy. This browser used to work perfectly for me. Sure, it has a couple issues, but nothing that interfered with my general usage of it. Now, I can't even use it at all because -- no matter when I open it -- it just says that my daily usage limit has been reached. I've tried several times over the course of a few months to force stop the app, clear it's storage, uninstall and reinstall it, etc, but nothing works. I don't see a purpose for this browser anymore unless this is fixed.

Well, seems like they were petty and decided to put the final nail in the coffin. Before they had removed the one-time payment version and turned it into a subscription, then they locked the free version to a hour of usage that refreshed daily, now they have removed the daily hour of free usage and have made any use of the browser locked behind the subscription. I have enjoyed the few times I have used this browser, now I can only hope that someone out there will make a similar browser.

I had to delete the other review. I gave it because it wasn't as accurate as the one that I have now so I didn't mention. That they make you have to pay to use the app now when it used to be free so if anybody is wanting a free. One of these just go to duck. It might not be as good as Puffin but at least it's free and it hasn't doubled back on. Us only to betray the users not to mention that it crashes so much puffin. DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP!! This app has more 1 star reviews than any app I've seen for a reason. I pay for the subscription but every time I open the app(even when it's Been weeks since I last did) I get redirected for reaching my daily usage. Didn't use it that day plus I have the subscription. So I'm forced to Uninstall get a refund which they make very inconvenient when you're paying for multiple months.

Same experience as others, app worked fine before but now with the daily usage system I can't even open the app, I use it as a secondary browser and haven't had any need to open it in a while, came back and it said it needed an update, so I updated it, immediately I was hit with the daily usage limit blocker and since then haven't been able to even so much as open the app, can't even search something on Google with or without the AdBlock. Horrible experience as of late, maybe they'll fix it.

Just installed the app, opened for the very first time and IMMEDIATELY got hit with a massage that my connection is blocked for "limit usage". of course this is followed by a prompt to buy a subscription. I'm beyond disappointed and frankly a little grossed out by the sheer greed of the developers. Reading the devs responses to other reviews is also very off putting and unprofessional. I still decided to give them a chance only to be demanded payment before loading anything at all. 0/10 👎

Immediately without giving me the opportunity or option to explore or get accustomed with the application to see if I like it or not. It required me to pay! Really not even a 3-day trial or 2-hour trial immediately asking for payments. You got to be joking me man most applications let you at least for a couple of hours or 3 days. See if you like the application if not whatever talk about money hungry.

When I first found puffin, the rating was around 4 stars. There's a reason it's 2.8 stars now. The app has become quite literally unusable without a Subscription. The daily limit you have to pay for has blocked me from doing anything for months. I open the app and it just blocks me from doing anything. I enjoyed the flash support when I could use it but now I literally can't do anything. Just give me back the ads at this point.

Been using the app fot a long time, at first it was free with the occasional ad and it was great, then they added a data limit only bypassed by a subscription, very annoying but ok, now you can only use it if you are paying a subscription. terrible updates, issues with downloads, and forces previous users such as me to now pay to continue using the browser they have been using for so long.

"Daily limit reached" I hadn't opened the app for almost a week, so I went ahead and deleted the app for 2 days, redownloaded it today to be greeted with "daily limit reached" again, like who's daily limit did I reach 😭, this app was great for desktop browser and for using a gaming pad, if you don't mind paying for the app it may well be worth your money, but I personally will be going back to different browsers :/

I used to use this app for flash games, but now it's unusable. The ads were annoying, and I was able to deal with them, but the daily limit made it stressful and made me rush through the games, trying to finish before it cuts me off. And now I can't even use it without needing a subscription, which I can't bring myself to buy, given my family's income.

Now, before I used this because its was free and allowed me to use flash. That was great, didnt mind the ads either Then flash went down, that was less great but it was still a convinient enough to use browser Today it has just now told me it costs 0.49 cents a day to use and that I can no longer use it unless I pay. The two main reasons I used this browser are gone, and I'm afraid I can no longer use this App, and will have to look elsewhere

Sad to see a once great app fall so low, I've been using puffin browser for years, I can't even remember for how many, I loved it so much I bought the pro version, I was disappointed when they phased it out but I kept using the free version. Now they removed the 1 hour daily use limit and now it's a subscription paid monthly version. Sorry but I'm not going to be using it anymore.

I had Puffin on mobile, and I enjoyed using it, especially after flash was disabled. Unfortunately, this came with Puffin requiring either a paid subscription for unlimited use, or a single hour in the day with an ad. If it was 1 hr per ad with no limit, I would've happily watched as many ads as necessary. I don't use Puffin enough to warrant a subscription, but when I do use, it's more than one single hour. There is no in between option or plan, and that's why I uninstalled.

If I could I would give this app 0 stars. It was fine to have ads pop up because it is a mobile app and that is to be expected, but the fact that there is a daily limit for how long you're allowed to use it is utterly ridiculous. Not only that but after reaching the limit and getting the "try again tomorrow" message, I decided to be patient and check in the next day only to find the warning still popping up. It feels to me like it's just a scam to get people to buy premium. Horrible experience.

App was great when I first started using it. then they started adding a ton of ads, but they need to make some money so fair enough. but now it will literally lock me out of using the browser randomly saying I've hit some arbitrary "usage quota" and that i can't use it unless I wait till tomorrow or pay them. App is unusable at this point. To the dev response: I used it half an hour or so, not anywhere near 2 hours. And it is not "fair enough" when every other browser charges 'free' for 24 hours

I downloaded this to play a flash game that i would have to download from steam otherwise (and was unable to do since i am using a chromebook). It crashed at least 4 times, and then less than an hour later it closed the game and told me that the daily usage limit had been reached and to come back tomorrow or pay $0.99. That's not a lot I'm aware but for something that hardly worked? Yeah no.

In a land of free browsers, there is still a niche market for flash support. However, the pricing model ruins this app. I understand ads on free software, but I usually pay to remove them when that is the option. Unfortunately for Puffin, you can't use this app for more than an hour with ads and you can't pay to remove them without a subscription. I'd be happy to pay a one time fee of 2-5 dollars. There is no way I am paying $2 a month when a free desktop browser works 10 times better.

Found it had automatically downloaded today, the day of the pro version's retirement. Neat gesture, assuming I didn't fat finger the install button, but I'm just going to go back to Chrome like the dev team's been recommending on every other salty review on the Pro version. Based on the minute I had the app open, it looks and probably runs similar to Pro. I didn't stick around long enough to see what kind of practices they have in place to push you into the subscription service, though.

It's really not bad, but it's not the best either. It tries to limit your browsing time so you can pay for their subscription service, but I could watch another ad and keep using the app, making this subscription limiter more deceiving than either what its function was, or the fact that you could just watch another ad. In short: definitely not elderly proof. However, it thrives in ad blocking and speed over most phone browsers. I can't say for other browsers because I can't buy more devices now.

This used to be a great app, and was useful for people who wanted to use flash player on their phones. However, the ads included on it are incredibly disruptive, and I've timed a combo of ads I could not get out of at over 1:55 seconds. If you try to swipe off, it opens the app store. If you click the x after the first ad finishes, it opens up another wait timer once again. They'll probably reply saying this is "necessary". It most certainly isn't.

Okay. It may just be me, but if I want to exit the browser to go to another app, it'll say "connection lost" and "reconnect". If I want to log into my Google account on the browser, I have to leave the app and go onto the gmail app itself and when I go back to he browser app, it'll say " connection lost" can you please fix this problem?

Edit: I got where it would freeze up or maybe 10 minutes use. Now it will not open at all. if an update does not fix it, I will delete it. I added it for flash. I just got my laptop this year so it is not my laptop. I know other people who have used this browser that pay for it, and they say it is not worth it cause it still acts up no matter how much you pay for it. i trust them. plus it is weird to change a free browser to a limited browser. more free browser in play store that have flash.

This review has been edited due to developer response. Play Store really needs to increase character limit... Let me make it clear, I'm fine with this having ads. That's perfectly acceptable, as well as offering a subscription to get rid of them. However, what isn't okay is forcibly limiting our time when you don't say a single thing about it, and your blatant disregard for your consumers. Had I not seen your responses to all the other reviews be the exact same, I would have been alright paying.

When I first got this app, it was perfect. Then they introduced ads and while some had an issue with it, I was perfectly fine with the inclusion. It's a free app. But now you have a DAILY LIMIT? Yeah no, you just lost me. This makes it practically unusable. Really at this point they should just make the premium version the only one, as there is literally zero reason to keep using the free version compared to literally every other browser out there. Even with flash support, it's BAD.

It used to be so good, until they overloaded it with ads and set a timer for how long they would let you use it for the day. If you want to drop money on a browser, then this is the one. Used to like it, the update is dissapointing. The ad at the bottom isnt too bad, I understand you gotta pay the bills and keep the servers up. Having a "daily limit" that you have to pay real life money to get around, that's a line that shouldnt be crossed. The browser was good a few years ago, but limiting users time in browser is a cheap move. I would still use this with further limitations, but curting time for people who spend the most time on your app is bizzare to me. On the other hand the one who responds to reviews seem slightly agressive or miss the point completely. I understand that sometimes there are annoying people and issues, but that's too much. My review would be lower if I still actively used this.

Was a good app- was. The bottom of the screen has a permanent ad banner (which is unclosable and takes up a fifth of the phone screen when held sideways). Every 15 minutes you get a pop-up that requires you to watch an ad for 15ish seconds (which can't be skipped). Even then the ads are bearable, EXCEPT there is a "daily usage limit" too! If you use more than an hour a day the app prevents you from doing anything else unless you pay money! The app is practically useless now. Uninstalled.

Clicking screenshots will jump me to my time limit frame for the day. I cannot view what my friends send me due to this weird issue. Puffin also crashes often and force closes whatever you are doing. Yeah you guys turned this for the worst, you can only use Puffin for an hour, it seems like enough but by nature this app has slower browsing speeds and it can have bugs, which take time away. On top of that, the ads are videos that take time away from you. I understand providing this service is really expensive, it's a remote virtual network, but please use another strategy, give us 2 hours to use Puffin for free, or don't provide it. It's able to play games that are imbedded in websites better than most browsers, (less crashes), but it was also a lot slower. In other words it seems to manage to run the games better by slowing them to a crawl. When you combine this with the fact that it constantly runs ads that take up your screen space or forces you to stop what you're doing to watch an ad unless you want to pay for a subscription, there are way better browsers overall out there that don't have a subscription fee.

You know I don't need to say what's wrong if you already saw the other reviews. This was a good browser. It's sad to see it fall down. Honestly I don't care about the ads. I mean if you put a ridiculous amount of ads then that's just horrible of you to do. But the amount of ads in this Browser is okay for me. Although the only problem for me is the time limit. You're just forcing someone to buy premium. I get it if you need money, but atleast try to make the browser enjoyable still.

What happened??? Back then this browser worked pretty well, despite my slow wifi I once had it still did decently when I needed flash. It was good! I return after a few years and not only is it now full of ads, even forcing you to watch a really long one just to activate flash since the annoying ad bar isn't good enough, but now it runs much slower than I remember. I also remember the rating being much higher than this, meaning something went wrong. I won't be using it again. Goodbye, Puffin.

Use to be a mediocre browser, had stability issues but it was pretty fast. The only thing that made it worth having was that it was flash enabled. Now it's gotten worse, slower, less stable, flash is semi sketchy, and devs have gotten greedy. Throttling, interrupting, and eventually cutting you off if you don't pay their subscription. What you offer wouldn't be a very good deal even if the service didn't suck. Deleting, I'll find another workaround for flash.

Used to be a great app. They they started with premium & forcing you to watch ads for an hour of flash & that was...a thing. But now, a daily usage limit? You can't use the browser at all after that? Nahh. Update: Now the ads are unskippable as well. You used to have the option to just turn off flash if you didn't wanna watch an ad. It's like every update makes this app *worse*. Once flash dies, I'm done with this.

This app was once the best mobile browsers out there, but recently it's become one of the worst. I get that you guys need money and all, and as time went by I somewhat got used to the ad bar at the bottom of the screen, but the unskippable ads every hour AND time limit for free users? I have used this app since I was in 7th grade and I graduated class of 2019 last year. It has always been my go to and the browser that I used for literally everything. The most admired feature for me about it was the fact it ran with flash. Now I'm severely disappointed in what the app has become and how it has changed. It crashes constantly as many others have stated, and forces you to sit through ads then locks you out of the app with an ad for Puffin Pro. I will be looking elsewhere.

This app use to be pretty decent. I understand needing ad revenue to function, but this is just ridiculous. They increased the ad amount 10 fold, then even put a limit on how long you can use the app each day before it locks you out and tells you to pay for it. This web browser use to be one of the best around, with flash functions the other browsers didn't have. That is no longer the case though. At this point google chrome has the same exact functionality, but with zero ads. Just get Chrome.

I could handle the ads popping up but the fact that they put a daily limit just to force you to buy the subscription is despicable. I know that ads pay the people who run the app but forcing people to pay or wait till tomorrow to be able to play is just greedy. it's becoming unusable. the ads for using extensions like flash were fine but now those 15-30 second ads pop up at random even when you're not using an extension. there's also a daily timer for how much you can use it for free. i miss the old version. this new one just makes the app unusable in hopes of gaining money for the user buying pro.

Warning. Don't update it if you use it FREE! I was ok with the pop up ads getting more frequent and interrupting. I got ok with the ad at the bottom ALL the time. Now, I am NOT ok with "you've used your limit for today, please purchase the paid version to continue" after one hour of use. It already crashed every few minutes, reloads, crashes again. Now all I can get is the Puffin loading screen. What's the guarantee that it will improve on purchase? I'll let you know.

I made a review about a year ago. Going the routes you have, your application went from five star to "I wish I could give you no stars." Seriously, being ad free was amazing once upon a time. I had no major issues with ad content bring in revenue. Now your product equally no different than any other terrible product on the store that requires a buy in. There was a time where I thought an app like this was a godsend, a flash-compatible mobile browser, but trying it out I learned it's not all that good, it's laggy, unreliable, and there's the obvious elephant in the room with the ads that you are forced to watch to play a flash file, the only ads I want to see in this browser are the ones on the sites I go to, don't bother getting the premium version either as it's no better, all it does is remove ads that shouldn't be there in the first place

I like the features a lot. But it has constant connectivity issues, and often web pages won't open at all. Sometimes the browser won't even search when you press enter. I compare it to the other browsers on my phone to see if it's the browser or my internet, and the issues are definitely with Puffin. As boastful as this app is, it's very unreliable.

Is a great browser with built in Flash. HOWEVER, lately I'm getting pop-up ads when trying to watch a video on this app. It would just be an inconvience but it doesn't pause my video. But it's a complete pain in the rear because it plays OVER/DURING my video. Get rid of ads (no one pays attention to them anyway or purposely clicks on them; usually an accident). It will randomly stop working or doesnt load. This had gone to fast down the hill...

Absolutely worthless and has so little effort put in. This is one of the only browsers I've ever seen that gives you an ad to watch if you want to use it. And, my god, it is so slow. I swear I could make my own browser before this stops freezing. Probably the reason anyone would download it more than once is it's got one plugin that most browsers don't have but other than that it has nothing to make it stand out or even be average. It's honestly amazing. How do you screw up this bad?!

I got this browser for it's ability to deal with certain graphics that other browsers don't handle. It also let's me posts on certain websites that keep blocking popups for making comments. However, it's crashing, refreshing thereby losing my comments, doesn't to well with text manuevering to specific text,, and it's controls block website links. I'm ready to dump this and find something else. Buggy buggy buggy...

Immediate one star due to they force you to have location permissions enabled to even open the app. As soon as you disable it, they lock you out of the app until you re-enable it. Google gives great search results and doesn't require us to have location permissions turned on to even open Chrome. So, what's your guys' excuse? Tracking? The selling of ones whereabouts to marketers to give us ads based on where we go? Who knows. All I know is that this deserves the one star.

I'm not sure when it was implemented but now we're forced to watch a 30 second ad in order to start browsing. I don't mind the regular ads that occasionally pop up around the borders of the browser as long as it wasn't intrusive. Now being forced to watch an ad before we're allowed to do anything makes the browsing experience super intrusive. Uninstalled.

It's a 3 star because, the "right click" Don't work, I even had to searched up how to do it just for me to find out how to do it, and It don't even work... I need the right click in order for me to take use of this app. Also any flash game you play that needs you to save it, it don't... Next time you come back to the game, all of your work is gone, you have to start over but theirs no point because it's just gonna delete your save again. It makes the "Flash Theater" Pointless...

Shakey! I installed because it was recommended as a secure and private browser. It’s not! The browser will not run unless it is given full access to locations permissions. Privacy settings are lacking in my opinion. The bowser forces a choice between four default search engines; Google, Bing, and two forign ones. Lastly, the browser crashes A LOT!!!

There should be zero need for my location to be on in order to use this app. This web browser used to be my favorite, but its now shady business practices are inexcusable. Not to mention, I have to refresh the page every time I switch between apps, and the page frequently freezes for no reason. I have noticed that in responding to other reviews, it has said that we do not have to provide our location if we upgrade to their premium browser. People should NOT have to pay money for basic privacy.

I used to really enjoy this app. It's simplicity was a huge plus. lately, the updates have been affecting the user experience. for instance, when you open the app and enter your first search term, the page reloads and you have to enter it all again. Also, the app wanted me to perform a capcha before I could even load a search engine. The last straw for me was the new requirements for sharing user data. This app went from #1 in my book, to being deleted from my phone.

The browser is glitching and it's not responding when I tap on something. It also has auto correct, and it's very annoying when it corrects you over and over again. It also collects your location for no reason. EDIT: Nobody wants to pay for some stalkers looking forward to collecting personal info to go away. I bet flash apps will still lag if you buy premium, anyways.

My original joy in finding this browser was that its built-in flash was an end-around on Android. That benefit will soon be lost, and the fact that I don't have the option to choose not to share user stats--an option that obviously too many users were choosing for your comfort--just gives this browser the extra push out the window and onto the curb. Maybe you could change the name, to 'Racin' Browser' or 'Heart Stopper Browsing Companion and Information Sucking Service'. We're not all bird brains

I like this app, but there are a few problems. The ad at the start is kind of annoying. You can't just click out the ad right away. It's one of those "I'm not letting you do anything until you finish this ad" kind of thing. Also, the app always says it can't respond. Also Puffin Makers, Please take out the little circle tool that goes up everytime you click. You're lucky I gave you 3 stars and no 2 n 1. I'm being nice and putting 3 stars.

Tryed to used the app and was unable to get an internet connection. Updated the app...still NO connection. There is NOTHING WRONG with my wifi connection. Chrome works fine. Puffin WAS the best...now it's the WORST! Update 6-8-19...I updated the app...and now they are REQUIRING me to turn my GPS "on" "to improve search results and maps accuracy." Yeah...right..go take a flying leap! Admit it...you are a bunch of data mining freaks!

Used to be great. now all that's left is a spyware full of ads. ads are fine but after the latest update. no one will be using this. forcing for unnecessary stuff like location, you have to pay for free privacy. anyone who is going to update. don't. delete it. also for the ppl who are new to it and will try and download I reccomend you dont. EDIT: also you may notice it kicks you out if you decline.

I don't know what that whole disconnecting from the internet is about but it's damn annoying. If I can browse in all my other browsers I should ve able to with this one as well. Not only that but when it "reconnects" it refreshes the page you are on and all work is lost. I can't work like that. Updated to drop another star. I am uninstalling. I can't stand the disconnecting and reconnecting. Why does it have to refresh the page? Hate it. Update: Tried it again, still hate it.

So after the recent change that now forces us to share information that many if not most of us would rather not allow some phone browser to collect and sell even after we voice the fact we do not want it and do not care about location specific ads, ive moved over to dolphin browser app. Has a desktop mode that is working perfectly fine for me at the moment and does not force me to share information. If anyone is looking for an alternative I currently recommend it over puffin.

This is why I NEVER update before checking reviews Thanks to other users for the heads up on the tracking. If it ain't broke, I'm not going to try to fix it. Sorry the screwed the folks that unknowingly got snared. I agree with the rest of these folks. If an app need my location, contact list, usage stats etc, I don't need the app. For those of you who value your privacy, check out the NetGuard firewall app, tap "show log" to see how many apps give access to data "management" sites.

was a good app until they decided to force everyone to give them extra permissions for no reason. the send automatic feedback check box is a false choice, the app won't let you continue without checking it, and there is no reason this app should force me to give it location permission. deceptive and underhanded. it's bad enough that you pop ads before running flash, etc., but this new update is too much.

I used this app for years until they started requiring access to my location and contacts to use the app. Aren't you guys watching the news lately? People aren't putting up with this anymore. I don't mind ads at all, and I fully expect them in a free app, but this is too far. Change your policy and I'll reinstall it in a heartbeat. Until then, go ahead and copy/paste your canned response about buying the paid version. 😕

You keep telling people that if they don't want to give you their location they have to buy premium. my dudes, that's a pretty scummy thing to do. You don't need ads tailored to you based upon your location, just make it so people get any random ad, regardless of where they live. You guys shouldn't force people to give you their location in order to use a browser..... I used to really like Puffin, but this is just too far.....

its great! Update on the latest version: I used to love this program. I had rated it 5 stars in 2013. But I just tried to use it on my new tablet, and it didn't let me to use the app without agreeing to "Help..." puffin browser by sending data to its servers. Ok, I can accept that a free app not letting me use it without getting some data back. But after I reluctantly agreed, it asked to know my devices location and didn't let me in the app without this permission! That is a red line right there. Uninstall.

Amazing when it works. Often it just... doesnt? Puffin browser is one of the best browser out there -- when it works. Its fast, looks sleek, and sort of plays flash! The flash support is meh at best, it usually just loads weird broken versions of the flashes. The reason for 2 stars is that -- across multiple phones -- sometimes you'll start up the app and the browser just doesn't load. Autosuggest works but you're just stuck on a white screen and no pages load. Not even restarting fixes it.

The browser lags when opened and bookmarks, homepage,etc show so delayed. The app heats up my phone in a way and pages reload when I switch tabs. It is good in general but not eye-pleasing, neither user friendly. Fix the bugs, change the interface , add : themes , ability to put a picture as background , back-forward buttons, easy access to tabs and bookmarks ( with swiping ) and bookmark-history sync .

Cannot believe that I can play Pet City on my tablet with this browser. Fast loading and so easy to use. Thank you, thank you.. As I have been using this for a few days now I was wondering if I need to adjust something to save on data usage. Also is there anyone who can help with an issue on pet city? Anyone???? What happened to this browser? Its now 2019 and the browser had to be updated. Having problems using it for Pet City and there isnt anyone to help. Will have to find some other browser.

This browser is more Miss than hit. The Flash Player would be the only reason you would get this, but in my experience that's not many sites nowadays. Flash will be obsolete in a few years, and other sites that I go to don't need Flash. Hell, some sites reject this app out right. Saying it's "too old." This app it's that the ads are a little too much. The browser is fast, but the ads are annoying. There's no way to continue what you were doing without watching the ad, or getting their premium.

Due to holding off updates until I read recent reviews, I avoided updating this app for months. Sure, the constant "we have a new version" screens were annoying, but I dealt with them. But as of now, I'm being forced to update or else I can't open the app. Not even an option, just 'update or else.' I had to use a VPN just to grab my bookmarks and tabs. It's sad to have to leave this browser behind. Even with an occasional ad on games I opened from my SD card, it was nice for a free version.

This app used to be a lot better. The only thing I used it for then was viewing flash-based content since no modern mainstream mobile browsers support it, and at that point it wasnt something you had to watch a fullscreen ad for. Now, you can either pay up or have an added layer of advertising. Wouldn't be leaving a negative review if that's just how it always was, but it ticks me off to have a surprise ad in my face when all I wanted to do was look at a 3 second animation.

First and foremost, I loved this app. Genuinely the only way to really access flash content on mobile. Unfortunately, it's just that. The *only* way. Many other apps attempt to be flash enabled, but tend to fail miserably, and now, this app went from 100% free, down to forcing ads down our throats until we buy a pro version. Illegally making monetization on millions of other people's work. I have no interest in buying the app purely because I used to like it when it's become a major sleazeball app. Was nice while it lasted.

I use this browser a lot because it has flash support, plays webm files, and could pretty much do anything any other mobile phone browser couldn't do. But, lately it has been letting me down. Browser takes long to open, photos take literally 2 minutes to load after opening a page, and then video and flash takes forever to load or buffer. And it's only very recent that this has been happening. And the bad thing is that I can't switch because I don't know any other web browsers that do the same things that Puffin does. Or at least any good ones.

Okay, for a long time I really loved this app. But these updates have been upsetting. Why do I get and ad when I go to certain websites? It pisses me off, and creeps me out, that it's only a select few. I understand, Puffin employees gotta pay the bills, but god damn I'm sure you can come up with something better than this. Please either make ad distribution more liberal, or remove it. I understand that as a web browser, you look at and sell all my browsing data, but could you do it a bit more quietly? It feels creepy the way it won't play ads on most sites I visit and then BAM, one site generates an ad every time. It feels almost like the engine is trying to direct me toward certain sites, which again is unbelievably creepy. I either want an explanation for why ads appear on certain websites, or a proper, more random feeling, distribution. Thanks! I'd hate to find a browser to replace Puffin after using it for so long. It really is a great tool, and I hope this weird ad thingy can be fixed. :)

Used to be a fantastic app but now it's not even worth having. Nerfing flash player and forcing users to watch ads in order to run the program (the only reason i got it to begin with) totally ruined it. i would rather buy an app than watch ads (they're tacky and seem desperately greedy. boooo (also your other apps won't open with links anymore, it just loads another browser page.

Was once the best browser with android, popup blocking, flash support, and automatically blocking trackers. I used this instead of the default browser 100% of the time. Now you have to watch an ad to run flash, which was the best feature of the app. I understand needing some revenue, but it used to be a free feature, so why change it now?

I will tell you what I think, I think you had a really good browser until you started forcing for a paid version to use the Flash Player, you know that's very greedy of you, it would have been one thing if you originally had to get the paid version to use the browser, I would have understood that, but I could use it beforehand without paying for another version, and now I can't even do that good job you screwed up, excellent work

And this is a prime example as to why I'm hesitant on updating my browsing apps. I held off updating for a long while, and decided to finally update. When I went to play some flash, I was instantly requested to pay or watch an ad, which was new. I instantly started searching, downloaded Photon Browser, and have now uninstalled Puffin. Very upsetting to see this browser ruined for me because I finally decided to update. Great otherwise, but being interrupted by an ad just to play some flash content is not okay.
