after the most recent update, I can no longer compose messages on my cell phone. clearing the cache does nothing. Email does not update on its own. Even when I refresh my inbox I often just get a spinning circle. Exiting the application sometimes works. . And oh look.. 2 hour old emails magically appear. Emails that have been deleted ( often more than once) will randomly reappear in my inbox and will not delete no matter what I do... on any device. . Phone. . Tablet or desk top computer.

the last two updates have left me unable to enter text in the message body on new emails in certain scenarios. login to the website version, I can then enter text in the message body, even just a few characters, and then go back into my drafts in the app and THEN I am able to use the app to type the message. odd glitch, please fix.

after the latest update I can no longer see the yes or no buttons when the delete this message confirmation pops up when I select an email to read it opens and clocks but never shows the message!!! I have cleared cookies, cache, uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing seems to fix it. I prefer Yahoo email over Gmail, but if something doesn't change soon, I'll be switching permanently.

Very jerky when scrolling an email as the subject and ads interfere with one another causing the body to jerk an inch upwards. Some emails with embedded picture have tiny unreadable fonts and there's no AA on the top right to adjust font size so the built-in help is outdated. There are ads inserted every few messages because it's free. I still want to use this as my primary email.

last update ruined everything. I'm no longer able to mark as read or delete from the notification bar, when trying to view emails from the notification bar it just opens the app and not the actual email like it used to. have to open and close an email several times before I'm actually able to view it. terrible update!

It slows down to a stop when I delete too many emails and after I thought I've managed to delete some there are some that are back when I log back on. Things were recently changed without warning, now my layout is new and I am unable to customize my layout in the app. The writing is so large to the right side of the screen that I can't see it, I am able to set the size with the setting above but I need to do it for every message I go to because you can't permanently set it. I am so frustrated!!

I'm having so many problems. like everybody else in the recent years of rating. now my emails don't open if they're older than a couple days to a couple weeks. like it's very important that I'm able to get in my emails and be able to read them. I click on the email and nothing happens. just like when I slide right to left to deleted email nothing happens. I'm literally sliding left or right at least 10x's. and yes! my app is up-to-date. and when my email finally opens it takes years to load

Yahoo Mail has been in a nose dive in quality over the past several years and I'm sick of it. It's UI is gets worse with each update. You get stuck in a reset loop should you need to recover your account info because it insists it must have two different methods of verifying it's you, but you can't turn that off until you sign in, which you can't do if you need to recover your info. And if you do ever get signed in, good luck finding that setting. I could go on and on but i'm out of characters.

Changed to one star. Keeps asking me if I want to add emails to 'spaces'. I say no and go to settings to shut that off. Does it again with the next email. And no, I don't need to keep my 'streak' going. Also: App is inconsistent. Sometimes, I open an email, and it allows me to immediately move it to a folder. Other times, I have to go back to the list of emails and 'select' emails to move. App also tells me I have unread emails, so I click on 'catch up', and then it tells me I'm all caught up.

I was forced to use this app after Cox switched all our emails to yahoo. I never liked it, but now I hate it. It seems to get worse and worse and slower and slower. Everything that they think will be helpful either isn't or doesn't work well. Stop worrying about stupid things like streaks and just let me open, read, delete and send emails. That's it. That's all it needs to do.

i can no longer delete emails or mark read from notifications. Now i have to physically enter app and delete. The emails aren't always refreshing on their own. i can see from the side tab that i have 6 new emails per say, but those emails dont show until i swipe down and refresh a few times. Not sure during what update this happened but it was recent. App worked fine before.

Not interested in Email & Planner page or Google play adds that come up each time I try to go to my email. I have to wait till they load before I can close them, then I can reach my email. I'm finally figuring out the new email format. The page layout is mostly ads. When I want to move a correspondence from my mail to a file, I have to click: MOVE up to 10+ times, before the files are accessible.

I cannot access my email. A screen pops up that says sync your other email accounts. I don't want to do that. I click "maybe later" and it keeps bringing me back to the same three screens. update: this issue has been resolved. but here's what is annoying me now 😆 I really don't need "badges" and accolades within the app for checking and deleting emails? how do I turn that off?? I don't need to be on a "streak" of keeping my inbox cleared? it is weird and a little obnoxious honestly

The update is filled with default stupid planner, games, challenges that will not respond to turning off. Get it off! Reply; The icon remains and it conrinues to drop "rewards". I did nor opt in for any of this. It just appeared this morning. Second edit. There is no switch to turn off streaks in any notification block - not on yahoo mail , not on the streaks options, not on the phone settings. So far, no reason to up my review.

not what I expected.the apron was what I was interested in. disposable, means a flimsy piece of material that lighter than paper, also small, not long enough for a pottery apron plus not sturdy enough for working with clay. I wanted materials only for pottery not art. please read and look CAREFULLY at the pictures they describe, my mistake, I would have returned it, but in desperate need of a few of the tools in the kit.

I really miss the customization for the inbox. Background and color choices were nice, especially if you have multiple inboxes. What annoys me even more now though are the group pop ups (finance, shopping, etc.) and the "streaks", as if checking your e-mail is game. Why are they here and why is there no option to turn them off?

User friendly enough for most i would think. It's rather slow going and crashes quite often. Overall if you want email on the go in a simple format this will work. -Review from 2013, now 2026 and on Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, still the same. App works, but not great, there's ads in it now, dissappears from my edge panel and app drawer all the time, still crashes occasionally, swiping function for emails is too sensitive and I accidentally delete emails daily.

The updates have made this app unusable. When I attempt to compose a new e-mail, I can't even type a message! I can't get to the message area AT ALL. When I go to reply to e-mails, everything appears extremely small. When attempting to attach photos in replies, the photos don't attach to the message I'm currently typing, but randomly attaches to other replies on the e-mail thread. PLEASE stop adding EXTREMELY USELESS FEATURES and fix the things that you have messed up.

9/10/26 Update I'm updating my review again because i can't add to my other review of this ridiculous app. Try resetting a password and waiting for the verification code to show up to your Yahoo Mail account. It simply doesn't receive these types of emails. So you can't update or change your password. I've tried this with 3 different accounts. Not once did i receive the verification code. So i can't log into those accounts. needless to say my wife and I are changing emails soon. Yahoo sucks!

bad to worse. it should never .. NEVER... filter my emails. it defaults to what it thinks are Primary, which means emails I search for cannot be found. I set it to All, and at next click it goes back to Primary. seems to me there's something you don't understand. there's beauty in intuitive simplicity. find it. implement it. more is not better. listen to your reviewers. I've had yahoo email for over 30 years. what you're doing is not user friendly.

Every update makes it suck more. Their reply to Nada Sogge is a lie. Challenges are constant, NOT opt-in. You really don't know what "opt-in" means (hint: to choose to participate IN, not forcing to opt-OUT). There is literally an unremovable icon at the top of the app. Notifications can be turned off you say..but a popup when opening sux too.

The Yahoo Mail Android app has a serious forwarding issue. When I try to forward an email, I enter or select the recipient and send it, but the recipient receives a completely blank email—the original email content isn't forwarded at all. This has now happened with multiple different emails. I've already cleared the cache, force-stopped the app, and gone through troubleshooting steps, but the problem keeps happening. I've also updated the app.

Getting sick of this app. Clearing the Storage does NOT Delete Your Data, you stay signed into the app. To start fresh you must uninstall then reinstall. Try it for yourself. it's Ridiculous. Also, this app constantly resets your notifications preferences. i have 5 yahoo email accounts that i'm signed into and only 2 are allowed to send notifications, but way too often i start getting bombarded by notifications from all yahoo accounts and have to redo my notification preferences, Ridiculous!🤬🫵

New update made the app unusable. clicking on notifications opens my inbox but doesn't take me to the email in question. clicking on emails in my inbox and they won't load. pop up when marking an e all as spam only half loads and you have to guess where the button is. been using yahoo for decades but this is too much. please fix the issues.

Still issues with this app. I have two email accounts and there is an option to see all inboxes (both accounts), but when you choose both that selection doesn't persist when you come back later. Also, it prompts if you want to see summaries, and no matter what I choose, I don't see summaries...and it keeps prompting me to choose each time I come into the app...annoying!

The latest updates just seem to keep making the operability of the app worse. Now it starts up in different accounts, swiping to the next or previous message frequently causes the screen to flip through messages rapidly without stopping, scrolling is out of control and zooming in on messages has been difficult for the last several updates. Between that and the amount of ads and spam, I'm not sure it's worth using Yahoo Mail anymore.

Since 08/23/2026, it was pestering and forcing me to update the app and I didn't want to because I was happy. After the update, I no longer see the # of new emails alongside each email address (in the main menu). That feature was helpful since I didn't have to click on each email addy to see if it had any new email. Please bring that feature back 🙏. Edit: The latest version absolutely SUCKS!!!!. I can't attach documents. The font on the app is all messed up. Why mess with a good thing.

I do not receive messages. Inbox will not refresh. I attempt to log-in through my web browser & it keeps redirecting me to the app. "HIGHLY DISSATISFIED USER!!" 2/25/2026: DO NOT UPDATE!!!! 1st thing the app asks is to "SYNC" your other e-mail accts; but guess what, YOU AREN'T ABLE TO DECLINE!!! It's either DO IT or "Maybe Later" - there is no [functional] option to decline... 9/8/2026: Now it's the same thing, but with the "Planner!" STOP!!!

The app is better than the website, as the ads on the website are nonstop and intrusive, and many of the ads are video ads with audio. makes me dizzy. Ads on the app aren't as intrusive, though I have literally seen the same ad at least 50 times in a row. But a negative is not being able to use the calendar.

Stop with the updates - every update seems to make the app less functional, more buggy. I can't get my emails to load on my phone now without several tries - the header will load and nothing else. I can no longer mark read or delete from the notification window - the choices are still there but clicking on them doesn't do a thing. And I have zero interest in these constant pop-ups touting new features when the standard ones don't work.

The latest UI update is absolutely atrocious. Can no longer delete emails from the notification pane, the app runs like it's just had both of its kneecaps blown out and to actually read emails I have to fully close the app and reopen it. That's for every single email. Got 3 messages I want to read? Guess I'll have to fully close and open the app 2 times to read them. Gonna give it one more week before I just move over to a different app.

I've used Yahoo Mail since my very first email account, literally decades. This last update sucks. I can't delete emails from my notifications anymore. The options are still there, they just don't do anything. When I open an email it just stays on the loading circle until I close the app and open it back up and then try to read the email again. Seems every time they change something in an update it just makes the whole experience worse. Stop fixing what isn't broken

New Update: They had it pretty good, but somehow they added this stupid feature where if you're in an email you can swipe left to right to get to adjacent emails. I can't tell you how many times I trigger that by accident trying to scroll up or down. Update: months later - everything seems to be good again ... Yaaaay!! Old review: The newest version on both my Android phone & tablet could not suck more. Slow when it does work, but just as likely to freeze up in the middle of checking email.

All of a sudden since last update I can't attach pictures to my email on my phone, which is essential to my business! I've tried shutting the phone off and turning it back on, reviewing my settings for the app and then within mail, logging out and logging back in, NOTHING WORKS!! I am dead in the water until this gets fixed!! Also it used to, when you clicked "share" icon, and then choose Yahoo, open a new email. Now it won't do that either, so I can't email the support team to get help!

app updated recently and now emails keep showing up as drafts even tho I get a sent notification, but they dont show in the sent folder. you cannot search for a folder anymore when attempting to move emails. all emails show up when you close and open the app even if you have already deleted them. doesnt separate primary and other folders properly anymore. such an inconvenience and extremely annoying. also can't delete emails from notifications anymore. & some emails continue loading & dont open

Update: it somehow got even worse. More forced changes that aren't even helpful. Incredibly frustating app. -This app is becoming increasingly worse. I can't even see all my emails until I delete some & then the pop-up about "delete all from this sender?" always interrupts what I'm doing. If I want to delete, I'll delete. The AI summaries are awful, & took me forever & a day to find in the settings how to turn it off. I just feel like there are so many forced changes that are not beneficial.

I'm incredibly disappointed with the recent update. I can no longer access my email accounts. I've entered the correct passwords for both of my emails, which are saved on my phone, so there’s absolutely no confusion on my part. Yet, I keep getting told that both are invalid. I've reached out to support multiple times, but their advice to try a different device was completely useless. I even tried on my PC and still couldn't get in. Now, I've lost both accounts along with all the important info.

I'm glad I read about the recent update. I decided to not update and everything runs great! You won't catch me updating this anytime soon. If it gets forced on me, I will go somewhere else so fast. Developers, listen to the feedback you're getting. Obviously something isn't working here. Edit: Somehow you guys updated my app. Thanks alot idiots. Now it runs horribly. I can't reply to emails anymore and I can't open or save attachments. It was running fine before and now nothing works.

The mobile app runs entirely different than the desktop. Even though they are the same accounts, they do not navigate the same way, and therefore, moving files, folders, or organizing data makes it difficult and often times can result in loss of data. The ads are extremely annoying. Be prepared to pay a fee to avoid them, which is annoying since you are already paying AT&T for access to the servers! It's like they are double charging you.

The app is getting more and more annoying every day. They are forcing AI options on you, whether you want them or not. When trying to compose an email on my phone, there is barely any space left on my screen to see what I'm typing, because the entire screen is filled with AI option buttons! I tried going into the settings to turn off these options but there aren't any. Also email delivery is getting slower and I sometimes have to wait an entire minute for a two-line email to get sent. Terrible!

Adding to below: Streaks? Why are my actions being tracked? Who cares if I check my emails or not. You're doing too much Yahoo. You all "fixed" what wasn't broken. The new format sucks. Everything feels like is scrunched up together, you can barely tell which account you're in when you have multiple logged in to the app. Previous layout was much more user friendly. And if I delete an email from my notification I expect it to remain in my trash not completely disappear into the universe.

I have had a yahoo mail acct since the 90s and the last couple years it has become horrible to use. They now mix ads in with your emails and hightlight them so that they look like unread emails to trick you into opening them. Now I get prompted every time I access it to upgrade my storage even though I have a ton of storage available and don't need to upgrade. I also have it set to dark mode and every time I open it, its in regular mode. Gmail works much better than yahoo now.

These new updates aren't helping and the app is so laggy. When I'm going through my email why are my only options 'delete' or 'keep' why can't I mark as read?? I tried opening settings several times and it just kept going back to the main email screen. It's become very frustrating to use. Makes me want to switch to a different app.

The new updates have made checking my emails a challenge. They mobile app is slow when deleting emails. Before you could check each email & delete all at one time quickly. Now you have to hold down on the screen, wait for the new window to appear, & then check the emails... and often the checks disappear, so you have to start all over again. Often, I go to check emails, & the screen gets stuck and just flashes on and off the selected email. It also does then when swiping between emails.

I want to leave a half star, or no star at all. I have a lot of small gripes, like how I'd prefer for all inboxes to be selected at default when I open the app, not one that the app has chosen for me at random. more annoying is the AI summary "feature". I don't want to use it. I have it turned off. Every time I open this trash app it asks me to enable AI summary, and I have to decline. Every. Single. Time.

you have to authenticate with another email, which resets when you look at it. which creates an endless loop that can never be authenticated. you made your app unusable. The biggest tech fail yet. an email app you can't use because of verification issue. If I get rid of my phone, I can't use your product. email is becoming obsolete because of the email providers. I don't know how to support a business model built to fail.

(Updated review). So I installed the new version. It's fine but the thing that kind of annoys me is the unread counter for the spam and deleted. Example, it says that there are 5 spam messages. I go in there out of curiosity. There aren't any. I contacted support and they told me to delete my account and re-add it. I did that and it was okay for a bit but then it started again. maybe it's a refresh issue on the Android version.

While trying to delete old emails to clean up my inbox, and emptying trash, old emails kept coming back. I made it back to February emails. And then emails received in August came back into my email list. This happened a few times. I got so sick of it, I stopped even looking. The app was running super slow, making the task even more daunting. So frustrated with Yahoo Mail right now!

Until Yahoo fixes the glitch that happens when I am reading an email and a new one comes in, it switches to the new email. What a freaking pain this is especially when I am reading a longer email and then have to switch back and scroll to where I was in the previous email. It's been this way for far too long and tired of waiting for them to fix it so dropping their rating until they do!!! UPDATE: still happening... already happened 4 different times to me just today! Very frustrating!

I've had Yahoo Mail for as long as I can remember. The app (and sometimes the web version) gets progressively worse then a bit better then worse again. I can deal with the ads. I can deal with the bugs if they're fixed. PLEASE stop changing core functionality. 7/2025: You can't use quotation marks to search for a phrase. Searching is also not pulling all results and arbitrarily stops at a certain point. 8/2026: New UI design, can't properly search for all emails from a specific sender.

It used to be simple. Direct. Useful. Now I'm bothered by popups, extra services I never asked for, and now a "streak counter". I get wanting to pull a little revenue if you can, but this is no longer headache-free. if I wanted this kind of experience, I would still be using Windows. maybe it's time to start looking for a service to replace my ~20 year old yahoo email.

I'm shocked this is rated so well. I can't stand this app. The UI is unintuitive. I do things accidently often. I wanted to delete a draft I was writing and mistakenly deleted every email in the reply thread. It seems to be impossible to turn off A.I. features/suggestions which are unhelpful, distracting, and obtrusive. I cannot figure how how to add text formatting to my emails which is something that should be incredibly easy. If I can find another app to use my email, I'm switching to it.

I do not get any notifications from the app anymore. I don't get new email notifications sign-in verifications, alerts, anything! The only notifications I do get are the "test" notifications you get if you change a single setting in the apps settings. It has been like this for years now! I am sick of it! I have dozens of accounts linked to my Yahoo so I can't just get rid of this email, but oh my god I want to so badly. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Trying to do too much and fails at basics. Why doesn't it always default to all mail? The way it groups related mail together is confusing as to what you are actually trying to see. I don't want summaries because that's just stupid. Just show my email. And stop with all the prompts about reading email. I shouldn't have this many annoying things to disable. I know you think these are helpful. They are not.

2026 updates have been the worst. Can we just have it simple? All the reward stuff & ads have made the app slower, buggy, & causes app to freeze. When more of this unnecessary stuff was added the longer it takes to load. I don't want to play games with my emails, especially if it's business related. I'm begging for this to stop.

Yahoo keeps introducing new bugs every couple of weeks. For instance, when tapping an attachment, there is no option to download it. It just opens the file, which is frustrating when you need to save something locally. Additionally, the option to move an email to a folder is missing in some emails, could be when a JPG file is attached.

Used to be a good email app but lately it's full of pop ups for "maintaining your streak" (Streak?? I'm checking emails, not playing a game) and other advertisements that lock me out of just checking email, and when I swipe to mark read or unread it takes minutes for that to register. You had one job, Yahoo, and used to be good at it.

Things have been on a decline for a while, but the new gamification is the worst new feature to date. I don't need or want achievements for checking my email and i hate being pestered about the latest "do a a basic thing" quest. I might hate it less if there was the option to disable achievements but apparently the people who decided to inflict this on the world didn't see fit to grant the right to say no.

How? how have you messed up an email app? It was a pain to set up access to my backup email, and now it is constantly defaulting to the BACKUP. The ads forced into my inbox look identical to new emails, so it's hard to tell what I'm looking at and looking for. To top it off, I'm not allowed to attach files to replies. I am able to do NOTHING but raw text a reply!

Yahoo is the actual worst. Their AI overview cuts off half of the email. Often times it gives misinformation or no information at all for what it cuts off. Attempting to open your email in a web browser just opens the app and the same problem persists. The email is riddled with ads now that "skip" so that you click on them when you don't want to. I don't mean spam emails, I'm talking about built-in ads. Use any other email client for a better experience.

for whatever reason, if you have multiple accounts, even with a "primary account" set, it will open to whatever account it feels like. so then you have to waste time switching it back, just for it to change again next time. And now you have to deal with the stupid "achievements". it's email, not a game. I'll be checking out other email apps now and getting rid of the yahoo Mail app. I need easy access, not gimmicks

What used to be a simple, straightforward and easy to use app/service for all ages has become a cluttered and overcomplicated mess. They've added several useless features. One of which is that when you open the app, instead of your inbox, it takes you to a section labeled "Primary". This section will show you a few emails from across the week. Only the ones they've chosen. When you go to your inbox, say, after a couple days.. good luck finding that specific email. some emails disappear entirely.

The search feature is now officially terrible. I can enter in the EXACT subject or sender, and it can't find it! It gives me all sorts of completely unrelated emails. They need to lose all of this aweful AI, and the added extra click to see all emails. I'll decide what my primary emails are. I've had my email with them for years. I'll be slowly transitioning away from Yahoo.

STOP UPDATING THINGS! This app used to be so easy and simple; emails come in, and I delete them or read them. Now, I have to wait for it to load everything (sometimes having to close and restart the app so everything loads), deal with all the AI stuff, then I can actually see what I need to see. Sometimes emails disappear, only to reappear later (not sure how that even happens). I wish they would let us have the option to use the app without AI because it seems like it's causing all the issues.

Terrible user interface and loaded with bugs. Fails to open, have to close app and reload. Scrolling and trying to select emails to read, move or delete is an absolute train wreck. Ads load and move the entire screen, almost trying to make you click on them instead of the email. I was so excited to be able to add an email that had its own app discontinued and now I don't even want to check it anymore. Didn't use my old Yahoo before for a reason. And here we are again.

I got a new cell phone. I went through the process of opening all of my apps and signing into them again. however, I get to Yahoo Mail, and suddenly it's a problem. I open the app, enter my username, but it won't allow me to sign in. consistently pops up with "Sorry, there is a problem. try again later." I have Uninstalled and reinstalled. tried multiple times over days, and cannot sign in on the app.

Not a fan. Font is bigger and bolder than older version so I can see less on the screen. Ads are more than annoying. Deleting them brings up an offer for a different version. There is so much taking up the screen. I want to get rid of the ads so I can see my emails but letting the ads sit there or get rid of them are both annoying. You have to be very careful with swiping. One little swipe scrolls like crazy. Swiping to delete emails also moves too fast compared to the older version.

Searching for an email is very difficult on the app. I hardly ever have success locating messages on my phone. I've been using the search "magnifying lens" at the bottom of the screen and enter all or part of a name or subject. What results is hardly ever what I'm looking for. Using this same type of process on my laptop works fine.

Oh boy another service being made worse by ads (that look like spam mail... Ironic) and subscription services... No I don't want you to sort my emails, just show me all of them and I'll sort it when I feel like it. Introducing new settings like this and making it on by default. Eww It makes it harder to use and navigate, really unappealing design if you ask me. Might be time to go to a different service.

This recent update is terrible. Dark mode isn't dark--the entire app looks bright white, and I can't change the separate email accounts color options like they originally were. They changed the widget also, took the color options away, made it all bright white, and clicking the Yahoo Mail icon no longer opens the app to the email list screen. Now it will only open if you select an email on that available list, which is an extra step to get into my emails. I removed my widget, and might uninstall

used to be good, but with every update it keeps getting worse and worse. 1. it's an email app, it doesn't need all of the annoying AI pop-ups. 2. gives you a pop up saying you have a certain number of unread emails. when you have none. 3. it's constantly trying to push its organizer on you. constantly... 4. it has gotten so much slower than it used to be. 5. scrolling is a pain now. you go to scroll through an email and you're all of a sudden at the bottom and vice versa.

I have three accounts. They change the layout and login even if you don't request the change. Unfortunately, if you call for help getting back into your account you get someone who doesn't speak English very well and that ends up being a very lengthy call. If another issue comes up it will undoubtedly cost you over an hour to get it resolved.

Dark mode only works in the setting pages, not the actual mail pages. Some emails are even starting to come through as blank pages, like recurring bill pay confirmations. I've been using the Yahoo Mail app for years, and now it's starting to have all these issues. Let me reinstall an older version or something - you're pushing out broken versions to PROD too quickly and it's really irritating.

they keep updating it and the app gets worse and worse. its sending random emails to spam even when not spam. its getting harder to reply to emails as well. I am getting more and more confused about whats going on. now there is a weird feature where I want to reply to an email and it just shows a text reply but I need to add a file. but it wont work or show me. yahoo needs to just stop trying to update and make changes. Just stay how it was.

I used to love using this app but about a week ago many things changed and it's now a non- user friendly mess :( Every single day it suddenly works SO slowly, it goes dark and freezes every time I delete an email... such a waste of time. And then there will be a large white banner across the bottom of the app, blocking most of the messages. Then when I click on a message, the large white box blocks the bottom half of the email. I searched on Google for what to do and learned

I really like the recent improvement where you can press and hold an email, then quickly delete all messages from the same sender. It's a great time-saving feature, and the navigation feels intuitive and efficient. A suggestion plz Add an option to permanently block a sender with one tap. Overall, Yahoo Mail has become much more user-friendly, and these additions would make it even more powerful for managing email efficiently.

Slow to the point of being completely unusable. Ever since the switch to the new Yahoo Mail my emails rarely ever load. What is the point of having an app to check my email if I can't actually look at them? Please add some sort of option to switch back to the old version. You did it for the website (at least on desktop, I've never used the mobile site) so I can't imagine it being that difficult.

I have been having the same problem as everyone else on the emails not updating, moving emails to other folders, and they reappear back in the inbox, constantly deleting the same emails, they reappear, clearing the cache, it still happens. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling since the developer has not automatically tried to update and fixed these issues for us. I really hope this helps all of you, esp since I know some of us rely heavily on this for work emails.

Yahoo used to be a perfectly serviceable email service. I could check my emails with zero issues. After they added the AI "tools" and gamified the app its just becoming unusable. I expect ads on a free service, thats the standard, but to be constantly inundated with ads is ridiculous and annoying. Also the fact that you get "achievements" for checking your email is just a dumb addition.

I've been a Yahoo Mail user since the late 1990s, but I'm going to move my email to a different domain because of this app: Only some of my emails load, so I have close the app and reload it to get the next several hours' messages to load. Constantly prompted for services that I didn't want the 1st time, not being able to find messages I'm looking for, and to not see the folder notifications unless I'm moving a message to a different folder. I hate this app.

This app needs to go back to the old version. It will show you have 2 or 3 emails then when you open the app you have 10 unread email messages. Very difficult and frustrating. I'm just thinking about closing my yahoo account and go to another platform. Only reason I've haven't is because I have a lot of important information linked to my email account. Please hear the people out developers and fix these issues. It's kinda like if it's not broke don't fix it. Please fix.

When trying to find older emails in inbox, large periods of dates are completely skipped and not loading for view and I have to keep refreshing to find, maybe. I have constantly been dealing with this. I thought the update would fix this, but nope, more confusing features, ads, etc. I absolutely hate this app. If I didnt have 99% of my accounts and messages using this account, I would have deleted a long time ago!

Update: I hate the box at the bottom of my open email. Get rid of it! If I could give you a negative 1000, I hate the big box on top of every single email. And the box at the. bottom that takes up all the space and when you accidentally touch it to scroll, it switches to the next email. I don't know how this would get anything above 1 star but I am suspecting paid reviewers. I definitely will be moving everything to another email.

they keep tinkering with this app and it has gotten worse each time. HIDING EMAILS DOES NOT HELP ANYONE. It scrolls on its own and does not return you to the spot you were at, instead takes you back to the most recent emails of your mailbox. The app is twitchy, glitchy, and slow to respond. I used to prefer using my phone for reading, deleting, and organizing my email, but it looks like I have to revert to my laptop for a less frustrating experience. Yahoo, fix this, dammit!

The app was fine until a few days ago. Now it has some preview that won't go away. It would be better if it let you tailor your inbox layout to your liking instead of forcing one on you! I just want to see senders and subject lines like it used to show. Yahoo replied to my review but gave no way of contacting them. Give us a way to get rid of the stupid split screen layout!

I've used this mail service for 2 decades, the mobile app has gotten so bad, all the updates you are doing make things more difficult. As with other comments, the emails that I can see vary, emails older than a few hours but less than a week seem to go randomly missing during that time. And don't tell me to check my settings.... stop changing things unnecessarily and I won't have to re-change my settings to fix your blunders.

The app is problematic. It doesn't load all of my emails, so I have to find a laptop or desktop to check and find the messages the app doesn't show me. And it skips chunks of time - 12 hours or more. When I try to open messages, about 20% of the time, it sits with a spinning/ loading symbol, never loading the message, forcing me to close the app and either try later or find a computer. It's also picky about what attachments/ pictures it will allow and their size. Overall, I'm disappointed.

I can't see one day ago emails on my phone or tablets. I can see a few hours of today's an then suddenly only emails from several days ago. I sell things on Ebay and Etsy. I have missed notifications of things selling because of this flawed system. I can only see all of my emails on my desktop computer! I only turn that on if I have a reason. So I have gotten in trouble for delayed shipping. NO. I'm no longer happy. I've used Yahoo Mail for about 15 years. This issue is very recent. R. F-M

While I've had a Yahoo email acct. for decades and they've always been reliable with sending/receiving emails, etc., I really REALLY wished they wouldn't have changed the UX on the android app!! It's gotten much more confusing, they added many more clicks to get to what you're looking for, they now automatically hide emails as a "convenience", etc., etc., making it extremely frustrating, especially since it was really well made & intuitive BEFORE they started tinkering with it recently!! 🤬

I don't like the change to the app. I can't find what I'm looking for. Change it back to its previous version. This version SUCKS!!! There was nothing wrong with the set up of the previous version. It was so much easier to find emails including drafts, trash, spam, etc. I can't switch between my inboxes because the app simply won't allow me to.

whether I am in the unread or main folder any time I try and go through to delete emails, there always seems to be a glitch. emails pop up out of order, as all of a sudden, more recent emails pop up as I have already scrolled down to older ones. as I select emails for one bulk deletion, there's a lag as they get marked minutes after I select them. sometimes, the app will just up and uncheck them, and I've got to go back and remark them. I use it because I have to, not because I want to.

Horrible change to the UI. Can't tell which emails are read versus unread. It keeps defaulting to priority instead of all. I missed some really important emails thanks to this. Also, my email addresses are separate for a reason. Stop pestering me to view them all in the same inbox. Wish I could roll back to the old version like I can on desktop and will be switching to a different email app over it. It's totally unusable now.

I don't know what these latest updates did but it's made everything worse! Email shows it deleted but it's still there. App doesn't sync well with desktop. Update 8/8/25: Now what is really annoying is sometimes you open an email and there is a "move" button on the bottom for you to move the email to another folder, and sometimes the button isn't there at all and you have to back out to the Inbox to mark the item & move it. This is ridiculous.

Didn't think it could get much worst but here we are! Why you guys can't leave well enough alone is beyond me! The worst update recently. Have spent over an hour trying to get the app to even load. Cleared cache/data, restarted phone, uninstalled/reinstalled and yet still won't load anything and advising app cannot load my account. Seriously have to find a new primary email account with someone else as this just isn't reliable anymore! The worst!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to uninstall and just use the website. Each update is making it look more and more like Gmail. If I wanted Gmail, I would use that, but I hate their layout. Newest thing, remove the folders from the bottom of the screen. now I have to click on my profile picture. Still hate the "primary", "offers", and "others" tab where I used to have the options to pick unread, starred messages, etc. When yahoo gives you solutions, it's like they aren't even listening to what the actual problem is

Some of these new features actually make it harder not easier to go through my emails. At first I liked it but quickly found it frustrating when emails are automatically placed in newsletters, Primary, offers, other. For some this may be ideal especially if they deal with a lot of emails or find it frustrating. Maybe I will get used to it in time.

2025: It's gotten worse!! Swiping left to delete and right to mark read/unread doesn't work the first time, you have to repeat the actions 10x. Still can't find email when searching, email box doesn't load if you have too many emails unread so you can't see last week's emails, just skips over them. Can't add a new folder from the app. This product needs a major overhaul. It's antiquated and slow.

I wish the Google calendar feature was included, to add tasks/events easier. UPDATE: I do not care for the new alterations. I dislike having to download an attachment every time to view it. No preview option? I dislike how I don't get the notifications I have enabled when emails are received. If I revise a draft it isn't always saved when there's a notation confirmation. Folder labels should be longer and refreshing should be frequent or have an icon, condense side settings for convenience. -1⭐

Within the last week, something seems to have changed with this app, as it now can no longer open Amazon emails properly. They'll open fine on the Yahoo Mail website, but not on the app. It just gives you an 'Error loading your message. Please try again.' It's seems as if Amazon emails are the only ones affected.
