garbage. why does pressing back reload the page? now I've lost my spot. infinite scroll has been broken for years. I can't scroll without it force reloading and jumping me to the top. I don't use the app unless I have to. Consistently the worst app I've used on the android platform for the past 5 years. I've had the same issues on different devices. edit: there is improvement with the latest update, however infinite scroll still jumps to the top

Venmo is horrible. I downloaded the app loaded money on it and a soon as I tried to make a purchase online the account gets frozen and then tells me that I will not be able to have an account with them indefinitely. so I tried to transfer the money back to my bank account and it will not let me have my money back. Vendor is a bunch of crooks don't waste your time or money.

I made a payment that came out of my account twice instead of a single payment. Venmo would not give me my money back even though I showed them the proof and their mistake. Then for good measure, they suspended my account and will not allow me to get the money out that someone paid me. Recommend any other payment platform.

they let me deposit my paycheck like always but then randomly locked my account one day right after I deposited my money and wouldn't let me touch my money it is stuck for no less then a week till they verify my id I had to send them screwing my power bill payment arrangement completely that day

this app was great I logged out to make a nother and then it wouldn't take any of my cards. then tried to log back in to the old one and says an account doesn't exist under the email, phone number, or name, which is totally not true because I can scan my QR code to pay and it still shows up that I have an account. WFT VANMO!! I tried having my husband make an account on his phone and they also will not take any of his cards. this is how we get paid from our odd jobs.

There's absolutely nobody to get ahold of to talk to. To fix anything, I deleted my old card because I had to change it. And tried to put a new card on and it won't let me add my new card for some reason. Keep saying, oh, there's a problem on our end. Try again later.

They will hold your money without any reasons for days or even weeks. I got sent Christmas money and as soon as I was sent the money venmo suspended my account. I can't send the money back, withdraw it, buy crypto with it, use my debit card with the money. absolutely nothing until they feel like it's ok. update they unfroze my account and before I could withdraw my money from venmo they locked it again. Venmo you suck. I'm going to be looking for a lawyer to take my case. theyve done it again

It also forces haptic feedback when tapping navigation options even though haptics are disabled on my Samsung phone, and there is no clear Venmo setting to turn it off. Support blamed my phone instead of addressing the app behavior. Sending money works, but the app experience is cluttered, intrusive, and gives us no control

I received money that was owed to me from a friend and they held my money for 21 days and they charged me $6.75 fee for them holding my money for 21 days and when I was wanting to transfer it out and into another account they wanted to charge me another $6.00 so if I could I would rate them as a half star and nothing else

I'd like to congratulate Venmo on their commitment to user safety. I've gotten a "something went wrong on our end" error every time I've tried to add a card, so at least my card details are safe, I guess? Does make the app useless, though.

Every time I try to add a new debit card it will always say that something is wrong on their end and then not let me add it. It is very frustrating. Their help center is worse than Xfinity.

Overall good not too many problems

the ai assistant is absolutely useless! customer support chat closes so early I have no choice sometimes but to use the bot and it doesn't understand anything and gives repetitive answers or doesn't have answers at all. it's probably one of the worst chatbots I've encountered.

I've been trying to set up an account for several hours. Despite choosing a username I was still given the generic one. Even though I verified my phone number, email, and identity, I still received an email that my account was suspended due to suspicious activity. What was the suspicious activity, when all I did was literally try to set up an account? This is not a simple case of "user error". I've done everything correctly. I fail to see what the issue is.

they locked my card for no reason an now I cant pay my bills, or I havent ate in days or my CHILD, I wouldn't use this 4 to 5 business days but now its 7 cause the weekend, bad business here people , I wouldnt use this, happened to me a few times now, I travel alot so i money back home alot

I've never had a problem with it. And it's very useful for sending and receiving payment.

I turned off both “Discounts and Promotions” and “Account and Product Updates” in the app’s notification settings, but Venmo keeps sending promotional push notifications anyway (most recently a Sephora discount code). The only way to stop the spam was to disable all notifications for the app. That means I no longer get alerts about activity on my account, which is a real downside for a payments app. Not spam-ing should be default and respecting opt-out settings shouldn’t be optional.

they froze my account. I only had $47 .I sent them the documentation they asked for only to be told I couldn't be verified. now it's with " special investigators " $47 not hundreds not thousands $47. now after 3 days they said 5 more .

They never sent me a physical card, no matter how many times I order one. The app is so glitchy you can't add a virtual card or even see the numbers for you card in the app. Every time I try to click my card it says, "try again later." I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I contacted customer service and they claimed my device was the issue. No other money apps have these issues, only Venmo. Awful customer service, awful app. I switched my direct deposit to Current. Permanently deleting.

Love it! After upgrading from Greenlight, this app was the best. Especially after an update that changed the pay and request mechanism. Only problem is I wish they make a savings goal or something like that. This is one of the best and most popular app that I would use. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

I've used venmo for years and never had a problem. I used lyft for a date and a 67.91 hold was placed on my account. this was 2 weeks ago and I've contacted Lyft and they say there is no pending hold on my account. I notify venmo and they tell me all Lyft transactions have completed. yet it clearly shows in my venmo app as authorization hold as still pending. venmo holding my money when it should have already been released.

If a person is required to have a social security number or an itin to use your application, you should not allow someone to set up an account without providing that. And you definitely should not allow somebody to receive a payment or end up with money in their venmo if they're unable to withdraw it without that social security number or itin. I set up an account for my wife who's an immigrant and does not have a social security number nor an itin. And then had to fight people to get the money

I am completely done trying to use this app. I have downloaded it. added all information. then I fo add my bank card and it says it cannot. haven issues try bk later. 1 week later same thing. also it says it can't verify my identity but I get a message about the venmo card and it says I'm all good all ready to go. I try to order the card. Another issue. I'm upset to see that it's apart of PayPal because that was my next option. I've had nothing but issues with this app. very disappointing,

they block and freeze business and charity accounts if you have a personal account also. this is both unethical and illegal.

If you can avoid it, do! They will pretend your own friends are scams and instead of asking, they just deny the payment and then customer service pretends there's nothing they can do. They'll even end the conversation, whenever they feel like it, even if they never attempted to help you. I'm tired of these games! You're only preventing people from joining! account wasn't working. Had to call in to try and fix and was told I had been locked out of my accounts. No reason given. Now trying to close the account and send the balance back to my bank. One month later, I'm still not able to get my balance back and close the account.

UNFORTUNATELY, many people have reported right here in the reviews what can happen which is suddenly, even when you have $90 balance in your venmo account you get the following error message : "Something went wrong, try again in a few minutes"

Can't use my paypal account for anything venmo related, cant add my PayPal debit card for transfers. Can't use my capital one discover card for some reason either? Why does anyone use this app? Paying rent to my landlord is a labyrinthine maze of nonsense which shaves years off of my lifespan every month because Venmo doesn't know how to maintain a good product. This is a problem they are aware of and don't care about. Pathetic!

absolutely garbage any company that takes you money and refuses to let you spend it as needed . I think if they accepted my deposit they should not restrict me spending it. All this company did is give me the run around after they had my money cost me big I was unable to buy materials for a job and lost the business.

it sucks get cashapp or chime.. it won't let you use your bank as a option to transfer money but only remind you you've added the card to the account but you can't use it

Needs a feature to rapidly copy and paste comments as a template for rapidly composing draft to an individual for monthly reccuring payment like rent or mortgage payments and such. Would be nice to have a analytics dashboard as well to track historical payments and such and balances of venmo account and interest rates accured and my principle it it's an interest rate building account. Nice to have metadata like account state date and age and monthly payments reports at the end of the month.

Got message, Payment cannot be completed at this time. It had worked great first 4 times I made payment then stopped working. after fighting to get by the AI chat to chat with a person (2 hrs) finally did. end result was told your account is fine but my issue is known problem and I just need to keep trying till it finally works.

disconnects from bank acct at inconvenient times. you don't know until you try to use and can't pay without having to publically try to remember your bank password. Happened 2x to me. i had to use other payment method to assure my banking security.

verifying my identity took too long. and account is frozen in the mean time. so i put in for an agent who asked for a puc of my id to expedite and it still failed to verify my identity. lame.

the app works great and the services are good. when they work. the biggest problem with this app is trying to add other bank accounts or cards to transfer money through venmo. I constantly get errors when trying to add my new bank account or send money from it to venmo or even just adding a new card to the account makes it freak it out. I've never seen so many error screens for an app that's supposed to be about transferring funds

Very easy to use. I can send money directly to someone from my phone or use a debit card at the store! Some people complain about it publicizing your transactions, which i agree is incredibly stupid, but you CAN turn that off! Very convenient to send my kids money instantly out of the state! Love this app!!

customer service for venmo is an absolute joke they freeze your account for long periods of time and when you actually talk to a human they never know what's going on and tell you its not their department and there are no phone numbers to the department you need then tell you to respond to an email that nobody ever checks or responds back to so they have for a lack of better words ROBBED me so be careful using this app you could loose access to your funds for long periods of time its ridiculous!

Its fine until anyone can challenge a payment and Venmo freezes your account, even after providing proof of the legitimacy of the transaction they still charge you. They said they trying to help, but all Venmo does is bend the knee to the bigger financial institution, and who knows maybe the deciding factor is who has a bigger balance on the account. They are not interested in help the customer, they won't back you up like a bank would,, since they are not a bank, just a money service.

Redesign is awful. Nothing is laid out clearly anymore. The bubble format is unprofessional looking. its a banking app not a video game. I want clearly labled options and screens not guesswork.

if you encounter issues you will only receive chatbot circular feedback. While convenient and user friendly, I lack trust in the business model due to lack of ability to handle user issues.

I continue to receive emails and phone calls that my account is being logged into by others. This only happens with Venmo and PayPal products. I have never had the issues like i do with these apps. and yes, I must use these apps to pay certain companies or else I would rid myself of the headaches these apps cause.

it's easy to use. But you better make sure who you're sending money to because venmo won't help you get it back. Your only option is to try to get a hold of the folks you sent it to and ask them to send it back. I tried doing that but it didn't work. I'm glad it wasn't thousands. it was 150 bucks. Other than that my experience on venmo has been seamless.

Hit the "Transfer" button and it immediately initiated an Instant Transfer and charged me $25. Customer service was pleasant enough, but would not refund the fee. I'll be moving on.

Property rights are a big deal, and Venmo does not have your interests in mind. They are not a company which is ideologically in alignment with basic property rights. They may not be capable. I would avoid for the time being until they issue users a statement regarding their property rights. I would also avoid PayPal for similar reasons. They do not offer property rights to certain regions. For example, if you live in Oregon, you should avoid this app.

i just want to use the account to send and receive payments. i dont want ads all over my face constantly. these guys act like its a joy for them to insert their ads and their buddies ads into my personal transactions. am i getting paid for your trash ads or getting any kind of perks? or am i just being spammed
