Awful! Adding another bank account is a frustrating experience as the Continue button simply doesn't work, leaving you with no option but to exit the process. Attempting to register my ID (passport) to access my card details is equally problematic. Having completed all the required steps, the app simply refuses to progress. I'm also unable to make a payment towards my credit card balance, receiving the following error message:"oops! ....we can't get your credit card balance at the moment.."

why does it need so much space to update? made it really hard as had to remove apps I used just to upgrade. very frustrating

One of the worst apps for banking, you can never scan a cheque! Even in perfect light, black background and it not being blurry it either says no or cannot process need to go to branch. The reply is to go to another place to deposit my cheques is a joke. It's starting to become one of the worse banks to deal with!

In June I couldn't get cheques to bank via the app. This problem was still a major issue in October. I then had an email advising that cheque banking has had an upgrade. Now you take a photo, I tried today and cannot see that any upgrade has happened. My app is up to date yet it's still scanning and failing to bank a cheque. AGAIN I SHALL HAVE TO GO TO THE BRANCH!! C'mon Santander, sort it out please

grate app

Just moved over and while i can log in with my details on a PC with no issue, the app keeps telling me 'something went wrong' and to try again. Not a very good 1st impression. Further to this, it does not give push notifications for payment transactions.

Cheque deposit function only works on older phones that don't have a wide angle primary camera lens. You have to be so close to the subject that optical fringing from the wide angle makes the algorithm think the photo is blurry. such a basic thing to get right. Other than that, the app is okay but not great. I frequently have issues with payment verification notifications disappearing.

i am logged in but help thinks I am not. also help chat button just goes to a blank page. providing details form does not resolve and crashes. it requests photo I'd when it should not.

Pay in cheque feature isn't working on my phone. Constantly rejects the photo of the cheque. Even put my phone in a stand with the cheque on a plain black background. Still didn't work. This is a constant problem every month. 31/10/26 - app still not allowing cheques to be paid in. Have uninstalled the app several times. When is Santander going to get this fixed?

I think Santander originally employed teenagers to write this. Teens with ADHD. Thankfully things are getting better

Absolutely fed up with this App. Every time I use it, it's got another update, to update! Takes me about 10 minutes, just to check my balance!

This app is not working on GrapheneOS on a Pixel 8 Pro. Considering other banking apps work why doesn't Santander's? It installs and opens but then states the phone is rooted and doesn't allow any other interaction.

Just like the other reviews I can install the app. Tried logging on to my account. Said I have to update installation. It just won't install. Tried all suggestions on reviews, nothing. Now no acess to my account. Come on santander, you say its important to get feedback but have not yet solved the problem

Its incredibly basic with no alerts when transactions take place unlike other banks and my business bank. means constant logging in which if your in a poor signal area won't happen. My business bank will give every transaction as a push notification through the app which is perfect as anything fraudulent can be seen right away unlike this which you might be unable to access all week. two stars is probably generous. For a large bank this is an economy app for sure.

Banks are supposed to hold your money and nothing else. I do not want financial advice, offers, deals, rewards or any other similar nonsense I have to click away from every time I open this app. And stop blocking purchases over 500 it's is EXTREMELY irritating.

App forces upgrades, my pending payment expired because when I tried to approve it via the app, it refused to open and requested a update instead. This was during a reduced service and metered connection environment where forcing an update also incurred extra costs for access to basic functionality.

Recently keep having to update this app! It's so annoying as each time it takes more space and asks me to delete apps I use all the time to do so!

what's the point of having an app when its doesn't alert you when transactions come in and out of your account. I had Lloyd's before and got notified for every penny that comes in and out but that's not even an option in santander. This is a safety issue, if you have a scam siphoning your money, you wouldn't even notice until you login. Just improve these basics pls.

It was strange how this mobile App suddenly opened. Saturday night I spent literally hours,and it kept on saying declined, try again--- it kept on asking to verify stuff all the time. However, now. it was well worth the wait!

does not support GrapheneOS, which is the safest OS out there ironically... but giving +1 star cause at least it tells you immediately, you're not trapped in a loop of bugs like with some apps. Barclays now supports GrapheneOS, so I hope Santander will catch up.

It doesn't bode well when an app update has the phrase "September is in full swing" and It's actually October. I think I'll wait and see how others get on with this update.

Archaic app. Everything is harder than it should be. No notifications when money leaves or arrives in the account - I asked Santander about this and they said they switched notifications off because they weren't popular!! That makes zero sense! No way to see what scheduled money is due to arrive or leave in the next 24 hours. I'm stuck with this owing to a bank switch, but I'll leave the moment I can.

App is okay but the amount of pop-ups is insane. Every time I open the app it says my account could be closed as I haven't added money? Meanwhile the balance is positive and I have 2 standing orders going into it each month. The advertising is shameless too.

I use this app around 6 times a year. It needs an update half the times I try to use it.

Transfers between accounts are not working. Constant faster payments maintenance. Way worse since the app was updated. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, especially if all you do is end up making it worse than before Update Oct 2026: STILL transfers between accounts do not immediately show in my balance. They show as transactions, but not in the balance. Absolutely ridiculous.

Does not work on Android OS version 9. So if the phone OS has a vulnerability due to no longer being updated, then why can I use the Website on the same device.

I now can't use it as the latest version won't work with Android 9 and my phone can't download Android 10.

I went to open this app today to be told it needed updating. Then told on Google play store that the app is no longer compatible with my device. I'm using Android 9, which is perfectly acceptable for my use. Why update and exclude customers like me?

These weirdos are absolutely obsessed with me sending pictures of my ID to them. Trying to add my card to Google Pay, and they want an ID scan. Now Santander are trying to claim they need to have a scan of my ID, due to KYC checks. This, however, is a lie, and a pathetic one at that. I have credit cards from Lloyds and Barclays that I've added to Google Pay without them demanding ID scans. They just send OTP codes, Santander are obviously just run by weirdos who want to hoard people's data

Do changes get tested for usability impacts? Half the main app screen is now taken up with buttons and labels - at least offer the user option to remove the labels, or put them on a horizontally scrollable bar. edit - realise this was the impact of making the device display font larger - something you should also test for...

latest app update means it won't work on my Samsung S7 phone. Rubbish!

awful app as it will not let me set it up without having 3 other apps on my phone. Insists on 3 factor identification so keep going round in circles.

The app takes up the whole screen everytime I open my banking app, advertising Santander services to me.

Once again new features aren't fully tested. When I remove something from the main page it just turns up again, pointless.

Dear Santander Complaints Department sent a message via the no reply app and still waiting to hear about the situation Santander have left an 82 year old without any access to banking app. I do not want to hear how sorry santander are or rubbish about cyber security. I will like others move my finances out of this bank. the most important question that santander has failed to address is why was there no prior warning to the app stopping. let us know so we have options...please reply direct

Unannounced 'unsupported' update means I can no longer access banking on my phone! I was attempting to verify a purchase which would not go through without an update. It worked perfectly a couple of days ago. Advance notice would have been helpful. I now have to acquire either a new phone (the current one does what I want, apart from mobile banking now!) or a tablet. Either is an expense I can't really afford.

The improvement is so good that it will no longer work on my phone.

Easy to use eg transferring money to and from accounts,saved going into town to the high St bank.Now 13th October and Santander tell me that my celfone isn't compatible with the app, thus can't upgrade.

This app is no longer compatible with my device. Yeah, I'll run out & upgrade my phone. At the same time I'll pay out for a driving licence or passport to prove who I am. Note to Santander, we don't all have photographic evidence of who we are. Not impressed Santander

shocking as have used this app for sooo long and now since the fact i have a older phone and now they have updated their app not thinking of people without new technology/phones that i no longer can use the app as its no longer supported by my phone model and thats after years of service. bad customer service an not helpful.

Was a great app, did do everything it said it should do... But the having to log in to the app on a other device everytime when trying to log in on your own pc which doesn't have the app installed is a bit of a ball ache... sort it so it's able to be logged in on online banking without the app... Excellent. Santander bank has always been efficient. Bank staff have been diligent and pleasant in my nearest two branches, unfortunately one has closed in the last 6 months inexplicably. I have Nationwide in mind as they have promised to stay open. App is easy and comprehensive.

As of writing this review, the app is not currently compatible with my device (Android Honor Phone). Meaning I can't use the app.

I've been with this bank for over 20 years,I was never asked to update details ever,now I have completed the update details and still keeps on asking me to update details every 2 days or they will restrict my account, IVE DONE IT I GOT THE EMAIL THAT WAS COMPLETED! A optical assault. Screaming whitespace, tiny thin text. ZERO consideration given to people with less than perfect vision. Style over functionality. Needs a dark mode and it needs an APP specific option to increase text size. Data is presented in ridiculously over-spaced lines of tiny text. Also still shows "pending" refunds which cleared 15 days ago. Fine on pc browser, app shows incorrect data.

Very easy to use. You can pay anyone from your sofa. You can see how much money you have. Should be fewer clicks to get to a statement. Reason for payments should include "donation"

since october the app is no longer supported by my phone. As a customer of 40+ years since it was Alliance and Leiceste, I'll be moving to a bank who dont enforce such draconian measures...and I'll get £200 for switching!!!

Not the best banking app and really needs some more thought put into how real people might want to use it. A glaring example is if you want to mark a card as being used abroad (why do we still have to do this?). The app doesn't have that option so you have to fire up a browser, say you don't want to use the app, login, get directed back to the app to authenticate, go back to the browser, navigate the website to find the relevant control and then put in dates, country, etc. Clunky as hell.

so much hassle just to see the card details and want's id which it's not getting..jog on.

Edited:Very poor for people with visual imparements. having text set as large on my device, the app uses half the screen when I log in to display the 4 options, such as pay and transfer, manage cards etc, show in a vertical format using up more than half the screen, then when scrolling through accounts, the 4 options still take up half the screen, only letting me see one account at a time. If I lower the text size, it appears in a proper format at the top of the screen, very poor from Santander

It would not let me pay in a cheque using the app as it would not accept the images. I followed all the instructions carefully. Hopeless! I had to go to a bank instead.

I've started having problems getting into the app. Second time in about a week I've had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work. I've had this app for years and it's the first time I've had problems.

Hooray, the fingerprint recognition with Pixel 5 phone now works. Functionality is coming along. Sadly, still got bugs, omissions and errors. Android 16 users beware. Documents can't be downloaded from the Investment Hub. And don't bother trying to "Talk to us" using the menu option else you'll get an obscure CLEAR TEXT warning message. so another Star is removed.

The absolute worst banking app I've ever had. If you're going to ask people for photographic evidence when verifying details, make it clear that its best to take the photos before going through the form process. Otherwise the app will close once you leave it to take the required photos.

I'd strongly advise people, especially with disabilities not to use this terrible bank who never helps and has a complete disregard and lack of empathy for those suffering from severe ailments. Their staff are ignorant, obnoxious and go above and beyond to make their customers of 40 years life considerably more difficult and refuse to give any reason at as to why they discriminate and have a complete disregard towards the disabled. Their practices are unfair and illegal towards the vulnerable.

Generally its a great app but my mums eyes are bad and she needs to be able to make the text size of her transactions BIG so she can read it all. There are no accessibilty options within the app.

It doesn't support Graphene OS. It forces me to downgrade my android version which is a security risk

absolutely awful useless app, AVOID this terrible bank. I keep being asked for additional information or I will be locked out of my account but the app won't let me enter additional information. if you're thinking of going with santander, don't.

although this app is ok there's still other things I'd like to see added. 1. could we be notified when money is paid into the account eg pension, wages or transfers from other people/institutions in real time not days afterwards. 2. can we have a dark mode 3. get rid of the 'insights' they always arrive day's after the event 4. make the 'boosts' open to everyday shopping, like it used to be, not just online shopping

The App is average at best, missing critical features at worst. When i compare it against my Revolut account, my Santander App is old, clunky and makes me login to the website to do features I require.

I have been unable to complete the update of my details because the app keeps closing by itself after id capture. Moved from Barclays where got notified on all transactions yet Santander app does not have this available. This is not good for fraudulent activity and wouldn't know anything about it. Unless this is changed. I will not be staying.
