most of the functions are great however the app does log you out a lot, particularly when you are trying to load money on to it. There are better apps out there.

Poor exchange rates. Using for euros in European countries, but even though we were paying in Euros, we got charged a second commission in a couple of places in Spain because the proprietor decided as the card was English it must hold pounds and ticked a box on their machine without asking us first! The money goes to Sainsbury's, so they should stop this happening. Lost about 9 euros like this which is unacceptable. We are not well off and every penny counts.

I find this facility so easy and convenient to use for our frequent travels. Both for tap and go payments abroad and to load money onto the card.

Easy to top up the travel card with the relevant currency and to check the balance.

Overall the card is good and I've used it before. I did not like that I couldn't get the remaining cents from my card and then I got an email telling me I'd be charged for not using it. However my biggest issue is the app kept kicking me off due to no internet connection. MY internet is fine, nothing else had the issue but it meant I struggled to reload my card and I now worry what that means for knowing my balance in Europe.

it works reasonably well but points deducted because: refused to scan my debit card when topping up (had to do it manually); didn't accept online bank transfer and returned the attempt (this may be due to an obscure email setting); although listed in my bank's list of big companies, it's under Travelex, not Sainsbury's. now I've got money on it it has better work when I'm abroad.

One of the most useless apps I have ever used. I absolutely get the need for security, but the one time passwords simply didn't work, the app crashes every time you get far enough through a process, and then tells you "authentication failed.'

Always have to try multiple times to add funds. Not user friendly. Customer service is terrible when it doesn't work.

It's fine but the app automatically closing is frustrating, my bank requires approval of the transaction so I have to leave the app to approve and it logs out so can't complete with one bank. Rate is worse on the website so can't do it that way either without losing a few pounds.

wasn't clear how to use but asked the man in store kiosk and it's easy now.

Every time I try to top up and approve the payment on my bank's mobile app, the connection times out and I have to start over. Took me many many attempts to top up even a small amount. Useless.

awful app, crashes, drops internet connection, logs out when authenticating bank transfers! if I didn't cash could have had problems as couldn't add the card.

Just so easy to upload yoir card and change currencies to where you are traveling to.

Love this app, it's so user friendly. Everything is laid out clearly. So far not had any issues with using it abroad.

Quick easy way too do travel money

Logs me out whilst confirming payment on banks app, preventing me from topping up. That's pretty useless, had to use another card which didn't require confirmation. Very inconvenient :(

Really buggy app, normally use the Post Office Travel Card & never had any issue's, but needed Krona. This app has been a nightmare. Just logging in takes ages to load, then a msg appears 'establishing' internet connection thats intermittent, heavens knows what would happen if I'm on holiday & unable to add more funds if out & about, would leave me stuck. The app kept logging me out, saying payment was unsuccessful. Had a gutful, so waited until home to connect to WiFi, still laggy but worked.

Card didn't work. I spent several hours on the phone trying to get the matter resolved whilst still on holiday (at some cost) and still didn't work.

Helped me successfully but had trouble understanding the agent that helped me.

A real faff to use. Online help is of no help. Phone line is automated & fiddly. App refused to accept correct details and then kept claiming I was not connected to WiFi when I clearly was. A couple of hours spent trying to add credit.

The Bank Transfers Dont work people. Careful or this fraudulent company will try and steal your money.

I got the card from Sainsbury's currency kiosk inside the shop.. used it in Spain and it works great, depending on the shop you go to (some shops prefer cash, some like visa) but this isn't an issue as I take this, cash and my own bank card.. I also have Google wallet. The app is easy to use (although on data use can be a little slow).

ive had this card many years now and I wouldn't stop using it..app is so easy to use and im 64 years old so if I can use you can too..would recommend this card to anyone...✌🏽

Terrible App I put euros on the card and topped up half way through my trip. At the end of the trip despite showing transactions in euros it charged in pounds giving me a negative balance in pounds. i rang up and it was a mistake their end but they charged me a currency conversion charge. They then gave me £30 compensation which showed in my app then today it showed £21 and €13 but i have no idea why. I used the app to monitor my spends and to ensure i had enough money but it can't be trusted

I've had exactly the same experience as others. Loaded with Euros before a trip to Italy. Towards the end of the trip and since returning 2 weeks ago I tried to add more funds but keep encountering an error message. After 2 calls to the MasterCard helpline I was told that the error was with my bank account, the same one I used to load funds before the trip. The card still works so the issue must be the app. Website just as poor.

The app doesn't keep me logged in despite ticking biometrics. It's annoying in this modern day to have to keep entering login details. I can login in the morning and the app has cleared my session by evening. I assume the app isn't storing a token on my device to allow re-auth. Poor in 2025

Emails from Sainbury Bank promoting discounted exchange rates when loading the Travel Money Card aren't as good as they first appear ! the app logs you out too soon but generally the card itself works well when overseas
