The app works fine. The bank itself is the problem. The two closest branches were sold and I now have to drive an hour if I need to go to the bank. That's not often so not a deal breaker for me. But ATM fees are. If branches are closed, ATM fees should be waived if there's not a First Bank machine within a certain number of miles.

Worst bank app in the history of man. Always down. Constantly having to delete and reload. Ive said this before but I'm sure the guy getting paid for the app is the son the CEO. In no other world would a banking institution allow such incompetence. Customer service is no longer a thing at first bank. If you like heartless machines and standing in line. This is the bank for you. update. leaving this disaster of a bank after 30 years and you should too

The newest update is stuck in dark mode without a way to get out of it at least from what I can tell. It wouldn't be so bad but it has a dark background with black text making everything almost illegible.

With the new update on March 26 2026, the app no longer works well while in DARK mode. There are no App settings within the app to turn LIGHT mode on, for just this app. Almost impossible to read in DARK mode.

After using this app for over a year, it continues to struggle with unknown errors while trying to deposit checks. First Bank needs to upgrade its technology as many banks have mastered this basic function.

The app does not work, I've installed,and uninstalled several times to no avail! When installed the information is overlapping, preventing you from putting in your codes,etc. Very frustrating!🥴🤔

deposit application is problematic. must try over Days to get accepted. uninstall & reinstall still continues with error messages. issue over 3 months now.

It could be much better. Like allowing users to log out of the app simply by pressing the back button twice? Or why not a quick view widget for android users? Overall, the app is very basic and provides very little information, but it gets the job done. None of the updates coming out fix any of the issues, it just keeps getting worse. Now they're adding ads, instead of making the app more user friendly.

Updated on 07/16/25 and app will not even open. Every time it force closes. Unacceptable for a banking app. Afraid I won't be able to reinstall it on my phone, or if I do, get back into the app. I'm tired of playing games with it. But guess what? 🤔 Oh, that's right. I wish the back button on my phone operated the app. Having a note 10 plus, I cannot one-hand this app. Instead of being able to use the back button in the lower right corner of my phone, I have to use the apps back button in the upper left-hand corner. Please remedy this.

I was hoping that the app would have improved by now.. It's very disappointing trying to login and have to do it a couple of times. I wish you had Zelle. Lots of places only take it, and that is how some ppl pay rent via owner request. Really would hate to leave over something so simple.. get ZELLE!

Keeps saying unexpected error when trying to log in!! It's been like this for at least a month now. Please fix this! It makes no sense to not have a functioning app for customers. Edited: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it allowed me to log in for now....

After the last update the app will not let me log in.

I'm not a fan of First Bank closing most of their real branches and leaning into interactive teller machines and other tech alternatives. But if that's the direction they want to go, that technology needs to actually be high-quality, unlike this app that crashes often and is broken by every other update.

Updates always seem to break the app. It's been broken for over three weeks this time.

Is there a bank that is solid with fixing and staying up to date with their app? I'm considering switching banks because I haven't been able to use the app for 2 months, and going to the bank to deposit my checks is a major inconvenience. The only way I'm staying is if I find out that the team responsible for maintenance on the app is fired and they're hiring for more positions. 2 months!!!

This is getting stupid. Apps are supposed to make access easy and more convenient, not cut you off completely. If this doesn't resolve quickly and permanently, we WILL be looking for a new bank. There's a reason the app has a 2.4 star rating. That should tell you something.

This is so frustrating!! It has been more than two weeks since the update and I still cannot access my account on this app. A person at my branch told me it was only Android users. I don't know if that's true but there are two major operating systems FIGURE IT OUT!!!

mobile apps access are very bad almost one week ago.

They won't pay to get an app that works properly, but they can spend over $1 million on a stair case at the olive and 270 branch. The customer hasn't mattered for a long time. This is an extension of the slow decline they have had in customer service over the last 20+ years. How this isn't a priority one for their IT department is mind blowing.

The 7/21/2024 update for minor bug fixes actually created a bug to where the app won't even allow me to log in. Error message pops up and says try again.

There's literally always something wrong with this app. It force closes upon launching, every time, and then forces you to open it again. Updates are never available when they say they are. It's just a pain.

Tells you on Sunday to update app with no update available. Then on Monday the update is available but is broken and just gives an error. This bank really needs to get it together with this app. Very disappointing

This mobile app works really well when it wants to. It's frustrating because the bank isn't open on Saturdays, and in order to deposit a check, you have to use the mobile app or drive to the bank and use their ATM. This app was working fine yesterday, and now it says it needs an update in order to continue using it. When I go to the Play Store for Google, there is no update. I've been with this bank for 10 years, and I'm not like all of the changes. I'm looking into other banks as we speak.

Works okay - when it isn't crashing. I wasn't thrilled with the original app either, but at least it was stable. Update: this time, app won't open. Says it needs an update and go to the app store. Latest version installed - still won't open. Tried deleting and reinstalling - still won't open! Still says it needs an update - "go to the app store". And the cycle continues!!!

Very easy to use and complete uour needs. If you have a problem you can call the bank and get actual human help from the United States in good English.

I'm not sure why I can't use my password it ask for another. It needs little maintenance.

Edited: One star because now it constantly logs out of my primary device even though it is set up with fingerprint sign in and I've not signed out. The whole point is so that I don't have to enter my password, and now I'm locked out.

Mobile deposit does not work. Camera closes. Unable to get deposit to work. App not ready for prime time Updated : as of October 14, recent update fixed deposit issue. Have successfully deposited checks. It also fixed an old issue with check recognition. Biometric login also working, which is a great improvement.

There is NO option to search recent check deposits! They only show up in your activity once they've cleared.

New App is very user Friendly.

The old app worked fine. This one does not. Although this has nothing to do with this app, I cannot download my transactions from my account to Quicken and have basically been told they don't know when that will be fixed. I no longer can get a safe deposit box and they closed my local branch and added a storefront location with two ATM machines for my convenience. I'm moving my accounts to another bank as soon as I can get all of that set up.

It won't let you deposit checks. It totally clears it's self out repeatedly. First Bank has always had a terrible app. And now they have terrible management. After a couple more weeks I'll be changing banks. I've had enough.

It was a rough start but things are working much better now so I have increased to three stars. The card controls are confusing. Each type is labeled with the word "Allow" with all of the switches defaulted to the left giving the appearance that nothing is allowed. When you slide them to the right they turn green with no change of the wording. Regardless of the switch positions when saved, it states, "Transaction Type Enabled." Logically, the switches should default to green to indicate allowed.

Camera won't stay open long enough to take a picture of your check or just crashes the app all together

Absolutely terrible rollout! This app will not work for mobile deposit. After granting permission for it to use the phone camera, it does not capture any images! And the person I tried talking to about this after contacting the bank's e-banking help line was zero help. So so frustrated right now!!

This app constantly closes the minute it opens and you have to open it twice just to login.

Cannot deposit my checks it keeps giving me errors and says there a bug.

App is a huge improvement over the past and First Bank has been working hard to update and fix issues. I reached out with an issue and their IT department was quick to get back to me and resolve.

I've been trying to do a mobile deposit for 20 minutes and the app keeps crashing. Updated and cleared caches, still no luck. I'll be driving 15 miles to my nearest location, but it will be the last time. Your new, upgraded app stinks.
