Several lines for a transaction and only 8 transactions (requiring 3-4 scrollings!), And then another click to see more transactions. 2.- Transaction details are lacking. Address and kind of business is important to find out if the transaction is real. Again, too much wasted space forcing unneeded scrolling

The new app update is awful. The preselected 'from' account in payments and transfers is both frustrating and confusing. Please leave this blank as it was. Previously this was a great app. If it ain't broke....

another company updating it app and leading to reduced function. now I can't see my payment date on my Barclaycard. wonderful do I just guess now or wait to get charged for not paying on time. notification still unreliable so definitely not a upgrade. this app now has less information and is not user friendly

Prettier than the previous version but not as easy to use. No longer shows the running balance which would seem to be a retrograde action and fewer transactions on the screen. a case of "form over function". B- could do better

used to be great. nothing wrong with it. now it's changed and simple things like transfers have become more difficult. used to be able to choose an account, press transfer, select account, enter amount. simple. now you select the account, then takes you to a new page to find the from account is a different one and you have to select again. you can no longer see your card details. so now need to find my physical cards. it was better before.

the calendar view is gone and would like to view the balance forecast and also be able to view the direct debit and standing orders by date which gives an idea as to what is left to go.

Very clunky and not very user friendly. Often does not save the decisions it's asked me to make. Tried to set up on iPad but the QR wouldn't appear even after 10 attempts. Regret having to use it but being forced into it by Barclays.

This app has gone from intuitive and easy to use, to clunky folder driven rubbish. The running available balance alongside my account activity was very helpful, you have removed it. The statement drawing a line in my continuous list of transactions in Barclaycard was also helpful, I now have to go to a folder to view statements and work out what the dates are. This new app is not an improvement.

Ease of use

I thought I would update the rating for this app but I see I had already given 1 star and can't give any less! The new app has an updated layout that gives nothing new, but offers much LESS. Truly terrible layout, give the old one back!!!

absolutely awful news layout especially for credit card transactions. it used to be very clean and easy to see visually, now it's a mess without clear visual break in statements. you don't even show the date when the state came in transactions. awful and stupid and makes me want to not bank with you. p.s also stupid replies - people are Very clearly telling you they want to see their balance at the time when transactions happen. why did you even remove this feature?

It's nearly 2027 this app needs a DARK MODE!!!

Easy to use but review downgraded to 4* following removal of daily rolling balance. I know I can see it looking at each transaction detail but it doesn't make it easy to compare across periods. Please add it back to the daily line alongside the current net balance figure if that is felt to be an essential thing to show (I don't and would prefer the daily balance if only one value allowed).

October 26 update is a disaster, it's gone from a highly polished and very usable app with running totals to a basic amateurish mess, what on earth happened? I now have to write down my balance before scrolling through my payments. I want the beautiful easy to use old app back!

I can't fault the app once in it in terms of functionality and viewing my accounts, but, recently it's been glitching for me so I can't get in. Having to reinstall the app to gain access is really frustrating. Tech have been no help either. The star rating is for the aceess issues.

Looks pretty but no running balances shown after each day of transactions, only a total of any deductions made on that day. That's a fundamental gap, please bring these back to show how account balance changes over the course of time.

Banks are always developing and introducing new things.. but this is the first time I see this bank doing a renewal to go back a hundred years like barclays banks . Open barclays App, I need 10 minutes for it to open I will also transfer from this bank barclays bank to another bank so that many people will come out I never supposed rich beacuse always selfish 💯 I will barclays bank soon please ever one do that

WHY has this APP been changed? the app was perfectly ok. now it's slow doesn't respond as well as it did. CEX RUINED THEIR APP. GOOGLE PHOTO APP WAS RUINED NOW BARCLAYS HAVE DONE THE SAME PITY AS I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER BANK PROVIDER. 😡i have asked the app provider how can I start the app on a new phone. I don't want to do something wrong loose my account. I got a stupid answer. so I'll have to carry on using my nine year old handset. WELL I CAN'T Visit A Branch ANYMORE.. TO ASK CAN I !!!!!!!!!!🤬

I used to like this app but the feature I used most was to compare the balance for the same day the month before, this has been replaced by total daily spend which isn't useful to me. I much preferred the app before the "upgrade".

easy to control account at a glance

Lloyds app is much better with alot more you can do yourself without the need to call or go to a branch. The app will not open using mobile data, it asks for pin sensory which I do not carry about with me, which is really frustrating. You cannot dispute a transaction directly in the app and get a resolution with-in 24 hours. If you mislaid your card you can't freeze them temporarily in the app.

hate the new way of transferring...why change? I now keep moving stuff to the wrong account! go back to before

The app was great years ago. Now it does not serve you card, and it has been doing that for at least a year now. And you still haven't fixed it, even though you've put a button now at the bottom to say, save card for later payments. So I have to put in my details every time I need to pay off the credit card, which is stupid🤬 sort it out. I will give you 5 stars for definite.

Just had update.. absolute awful.. user interface is not user friendly very clunky and harder than it was before to make transfers and pay someone takes longer.. im all for updates if it improves things but this doesn't at all... leave things as they are or ask actual customers how they feel about it.. better still contact me direct and ill design it for you for free and give you more security than you currently use.but please revert the features back how they were takes me 5 mins longer now

Old App Great - New App Awful. Transaction dates do not align with the date payments were actually made from your bank meaning month end is a nightmare & you cannot trust the app. If you are working to a budget... Find another bank as this will end up costing you money! We know the money is "taken" from the balance. Show us when the payment left the account. Also show the balance at the top of each date not the accumulation spend.

Can you please return the daily balance on my account after each transaction without having to select each transaction to see it

updates far too frequently and uses up too much storage. I believe that the app is then also used to spy on you otherwise why would it need permissions to media or contacts and other information irrelevant to banking? when I go into a bank they have never asked for any other information than my pin⁉️

Awful, always automatically registers my credit card when I need to register an Amazon installment account. Help desk say to use this app and select installment account which isn't an option, they say it's a known issue and are fixing it... Yet nothing has changed, it's frustrating that there is no option for me to add this within the app and I I'm told to de register and re register and still it doesn't work. Too much of a far and has put me off using products linked with Barclays now

The new version no longer allows you to see what your balance was on previous months. What was the point of updating an app to remove basic functions that are fundamentals of a banking app.

30 Oct... Still no fix how is anyone supposed to bank with you? 27th - still no fix latest android and it wont work. Samsung 23+ with Android 17.... Cant get the app to load. Stuck on barclays loading screen. Tried Barclaycard app and same issue. Deleted app, cleared data, cache, checked conflicting apps. Called Barclays and no one can solve this issue and no one has got back to me. There is a issue with the app, since the update a lot of users cant login. Appalling service

The latest upgrade is a step backwards and unhelpful. Each entry line is way too deep meaning you have to scroll far more than before. And I want to know what the balance was on a given day, not how much came out of the account. Feels like a Fisher Price version of the app.

Poor Functioning Barclays financing partnership aspect of the either doesn't work, or crashes the app when trying to use its features. Never seems to get fixed!

I think it is part of recent updates but somehow you now don't see the closing balance by date. you see the amount transacted on that day. this must be the most unbanklike feature in the history of banking. can you please hire an accountant in your UX team? Edit - I have 5 other banking applications, they all show the closing balance on a daily basis without having to click on the transaction. Also, every cash book/ledger since the beginning of banking has had a balance BF/CF on every page

Update following a 5 star review for many years - the new look is ok but not better than ok. I will get used to it but it's no improvement. Balances are tricky to follow because they are now on transaction details not on the transaction list. And sign-out is tricky as you find the button for it in the personal profile area. It should be easily accessible so user has confidence that sign-out has been done

Cannot login on app I'm unable to access the app....just continually loads. Spoke to Barclays who tried logging me in a different way but still have the same problem...a bit frustrating!

I think there is a bug with the android app. After installing it works and you can log in twice after that it just hangs with a blue square at the bottom of the screen. please can you fix the app.

The new updated UI is a real step down from the previous one. The old one was much more intuitive to use. The BIGGEST change missing is the RUNNING BALANCE after each transaction. This was an excellent feature and must be brought back. Edit: It would be much better to see the running balance and totals together with the transactions on one page like before. It's so much easier to glance at them that way instead of digging into each transaction. Your app just seems cluttered and harder to use.

This app has been going steadily down hill for a while. It used to be fast, responsive, with crisp details and controls. Now, it's becoming a poor, seemingly web based, clunky imitation of it's former self. The UI is plain looking and chunky. Looks like it's been made to run on a Nokia 3310. In the latest update, they've somehow managed to make it so when you pay somebody, it converts the number to add £ and a , separator, but now it doesn't accept a decimal point so you can't pay in pence.

The Barclays app changed recently and is now not fit for purpose. I would give it zero stars if I could. Horrible giant bold font. All black on white, doesnt look like a Barclays product. the information I miss is that there are no running balance totals shown with transactions. It is clumsy and difficult to navigate. it is ugly and the large,bold black font is jarring to the eyes. I am looking to change banks now as I cannot endure this ugly, clumsy to use new app.

Disastrous Android update in late October 2026. It's worked perfectly for years and now it will only work twice, after which the next time you try to use it, it just sits there with a little square with a blue line going round after you've entered your pin. The only solution is to clear all your data and start from scratch. Then it does the same thing again after the second use. Even ringing them up didn't help. Sort it please Barclays!

Its good untill they seem to close my account despite still having money on it, since I already moved to another country. A great way to indeed keep your money.

The app in general is OK. Only 2 stars as there is a lack of customer support contact outside of business hours. I can't even see my loan statement—it's almost paid off, but it seems like the balance has stopped going down, and I'm not sure what's going on. I pay 176 pounds a month (which includes about £30 interest), and my balance has barely gone down.There is something wrong. Additionally, I can't see any transaction history—it seems hidden.

Good but would like to see foreign currency amount on credit card statement entries in relation to the GBP amount for clarity as can be found in other banking apps.

I can only log in once after registering. Next time it hangs and I have to uninstall and reinstall and go through registration again. Very many people have this issue but Barclays don't care. They don't know how to fix it. WARNING DO NOT open a Barclays Account !!!

This is the most efficient bank I have used, and I highly recommend my colleagues who do not yet have a Barclays account to consider opening one.

Terrible banking app, debit card payments refer to other bank and then when you leave the app to authorise the payment the Barclays payment restarts. So behind the tunes with payment options with no open banking.

Bring back the daily balance! The recent app update is a huge step backward. Replacing the daily running balance with a cash-in/cash-out summary for the day is completely useless for day-to-day budgeting and tracking what’s actually available. I don't need a summary widget on every single line; I need to see the exact balance of my account after each transaction, exactly like it used to be. Please give users the option to toggle back to the traditional daily running balance, or undo this change!

Updated app Oct 26, is greatly upsetting me. The biggest problem is you used to be able to see your daily balance each day. Now it shows the total in / out instead. If you open transactions, you can no longer tell if you have money or not. It is almost impossible for me to keep track of where I am. Making a payment / transfer also now needs tow clicks rathrt than 1 swipe. I can't find anything. Still can't talk to a person. Planning on leaving now for a better app after 20 years banking.

New app layout is awful. Worst part though is that the calendar view seems to have gone. I don't need to see every scheduled payment I've had in the last couple of years in alphabetical order - I need to be able to quickly check what payments I've got going out in the next couple of days. I hope they bring back the calendar view. Edit: I've looked in scheduled payments, tried using the search function and I've looked for advice online, where I found nothing but others who also can't find it.

this app doesn't work at all beyond sign in on the latest update. to the dev I am not updating for good reason! this is you forcing app and system updates. It's another facet of corporate rule over every moment of our lives.

being neurodivergent I didn't cope well with the recent changes and had previously given a 1 star review, having taken a couple of months to find where everything I need is and working out how to get along with the change to the system I have changed my score to 4stars it would have been better if I had received an email notification of upcoming changes to the app a few days before the change implementation rather than 6days afterwards so my neurodivergent brain has time to get used to the idea

"Fixed the pain myself, no thanks to support." ​Old veteran user without a single issue, your latest update locked me into a sign-in loop and your generic support blamed my phone. 30 minutes of wiping data and re-registering later, it works fine on the exact same device. Stop sending copy-paste excuses telling me that I need the latest android phone and acknowledge your software bugs! Shame on you !

functionality lost! new interface is confusing I do not need to see my bill pinned on top! log in pin pad is slowed down, WHY? way too many bolded and coloured letters... simplicity, transparency and functionality is lost. can't see true data anymore. credit card statement is not shown in the list of expenses anymore, WHY? overal backwards improvement of an otherwise useful app, very baaad, would have given ZERO stars if it was possible!! Truly considering of leaving the bank because of thisa

Removing the running balance is absolutely infuriating, why update the app to make it worse?!

I tried to cancel Click to Pay and was directed to this app. Unfortunately there is mno clear way to do this . Useless system.

I have messed up so many payment on the new app, the font is bad and everything is in capital letters. It is very difficult for a person with dyslexia. please make improvements. I use the app alot and is making me consider changing banks just because of the poorly designed app

Never had a problem really easy to use I can even get in touch with them if I need to via the app much better than other banking apps I've seen EDIT the new update is horrendous - is slow doesn't show information accurately - the overall design is an eyesore

Bring back the old version. New update no longer has calendar view for direct debit payments and standings orders. And also the feature to pause standing orders to re start at a later date has also gone.

the new statements screen is absolutely awful. why break a feature that was simply just fine, and turn it into a debilitating experience?? disruptive "new feature" pop-up after pop-up that no actual end user wants or cares to see. any product manager who forces pop-ups on the user has clearly failed to design a useful feature with a good UX... if I wanted to view billboards I'd browse Google

Update..... I appreciate the update from the app developer, although unfortunately there is still no improvement on the app.... It is still showing the same glitch glitch in the calendar view! it misses 2 from 12, and the second number in the twenties & thirty.....ie, missing 1 from 21, 2 from 22, 3 from 23 etc

The latest app update has ruined the view of an account. It is now showing the total in/out on a day there is activity, rather than the balance at that time. I regularly use this view. I do not really need to see a total spend per transaction/day, a record of the balance at that time is much more useful. Could you make it an option which way you have it?

Be honest for a second. Your app doesn't look different because of the OS on my phone that hasn't changed. Notifications didn't stop coming because of the OS either. And I bet you don't give two hoots about feedback. You had a good looking app, it was easy to use, and it was working. Now it looks 15 years older and 1 of the main features doesn't work. 🤷‍♂️
