my mom wouldn't let me do it

it was great at 1st but the my child had fraudulent charges they refunded him the money in the term and took it back again and told us that we owed them more money. I sent them police reports showing that it was fraudulent and they didn't care.

inconsistent. customer service is not helpful. I've ordered cards that never come or the app won't allow me to order a card when I need to.

Do not reccommend this app to anyone. It is impossible to get ahold of anyone for issues.

Fraud, do not send them any money. once they get your money you cannot get it back. customer service will not help. you cannot take legal action because they are in a different country. lost $600 of my son's money to them.

Was forced to move onto this after Go Henry shut down, I can't get into my account at all despite both me and my mother using the correct information to log in. I had over 400$ saved on that account that my mom is currently talking to customer service about, and is not getting any help. Edit: Still no refund provided

Longtime GoHenry customer, now on Acorns Early. On Oct 1, a glitch made $300 vanish from my daughter's account. Two reps confirmed their system still shows it, but we can't access it. A week later, it's still unresolved with no updates or timeline. I've contacted my bank and may file a CFPB complaint. The glitch didn't cost them my trust, their response did. I'm leaving.

added $15 to the account to pay a child and it is pending. so stupid when they take it out of my bank account immediately.

app is okay but missing important functionality. there is no way to pause kids allowance for a limited length of time or a skip for the week or any control to stop the allowance from going through. very frustrating as a parent especially when certain parameters and expectations are not being met. also, I would like to use this account for my son's charity sales for a group he belongs to as a digital means of payment, but that is not possible either.

THEY CONTINUOUSLY LOG ME OUT. THEY MAKE ME RESET MY PASSWORD. I DONT KNOW MY 4 DIGIT CODE AND NOW I CANT ACCESS MY MONEY. THIS APP SUCKS.

My wife started this with our kid. however, I am not able to login under my sign on and just randomly give my child a few bucks for whatever reason. This is according to my wife anyway. I haven't had time to look at the app on her phone to see if she is missing a setting or something, but either way, I cant hardly do jack from my phone.

I have had this account as a beta user since it was GoHenry and never had a problem with it. It switched to US ownership and was bought out by Acorns and now there are monthly fees, glitches, and money gets lost in cyberspace. I originally saw a 2028 exp. date for my "free membership" and assumed it was because I'd been with them so long. now it says I'll be charged on 9/11/26. no notice, no email, nothing. the call center is hard to understand and it takes days for everything! not happy!

I don't need all of these prompts when I just want to add money to my child's account. I don't want to auto fund.

Very disappointed with the app lately and the customer service. I do not have time to spend hours on the phone for you to keep telling me my grandson's card is not being declined even though I am right there watching it decline. I am no longer able to set spending limits. I like the concept but you need to correct your issues because I can have the same type of account at my bank.

I can't believe the kids are rating this 1 star. I went through the reviews and most of the 1 stars have the spelling and grammar of a first to fifth grader, then have the audacity to leave a review on an app designed for parents to assign KIDS their own account. Anyways, I love the app, my mom set it up for me and it works like a charm.

1st My kids couldn't even log in on their own phones. 2nd its more difficult for them than it is for me to navigate the pg doesn't help it keeps freezing with the loading spindle. They just got there cards an already cant use them. customer service all though they are friendly didnt really help much.

I don't think this is legal in the United States of America. Because of the child labor policies and regulations, I would avoid using it for paying minors under minimum wage. Friendly warning to all United States of America's parents. I downloaded this application just to post this warning. I don't intend to use it. I will be uninstalling it right after this post.

honestly acorns has been suprising me alot with go henry and acorns early. its really easy to use and also has built in lessons on money making! as a child who has been ysing this program with my parents for quite a bit, i am very happy about the quality of the app. thank you for teaching children how to save and spend rationaly! -gabe

This is a great way to help my daughter be responsible with money. I am able to pay her for her chores every week and be able to put into her account what I want her to have or what she has earned. She absolutely loves having her own debit card. She's 7 years old so I am hoping this just really helps her to treat situations with money correctly and that she doesn't have to spend it all at one time. Love this app!

the fact it takes 3 business days to load money onto parents accounts you can send it to your child is ridiculous. It eliminates your child being able to call in a situation where they need money then and you being able to send to them directly in the moment. I'll be using something else that is more convenient.

this is so dumb.... I'm just noticing after more than a year it has only been paying allowance MAYBE every other week. it's suppose to pay weekly and it absolutely is not. the whole purpose was for this to be "set it and forget it'. we'll I forgot, but it's not doing it's part and using the kids weekly allowance. HOW STUPID. CANCELING IMMEDIATELY

within the last few weeks my app has somehow jumped a week ahead, so my kids aren't able to complete tasks for the week before being paid, they're completing tasks for an additional week ahead? i.e. if its Thursday and you're being paid Friday, you can't do tasks that Thursday. the whole app is basic and easy to learn but its layout is unorganized.

Update: Added money end of last week. The money was debited from my checking yesterday still pending on acorns. The app itself is great. I can track my kids spending, set controls, and assign chores and allowances. The frustration is it takes days to get money in my parent account. If you run low in the parent account, it could be the following week till money you transfer is available. You better transfer on Monday or Tuesday to have any funds available within the week.

I wish you had a link for chores earned. Green light does.

Debit card takes FOREVER to arrive, as do the bank transfers. Will probably cancel. It took A WEEK for the card to be ready to ship. Not because of UPS, despite what your customer service says. Also, the initial deposit I made 7 days ago STILL SHOWS AS PENDING. But the money was taken out of my account ASAP- go figure.

I haven't tried it yet but I hope it's the best 😁

Scam. Kids mom created an account and set it up for the kids to get an allowance. Cool. I should just be able to add my own personal cards so I can contribute to their accounts. Nope, they want you to create your own adult account and pay some monthly $12 fee. I don't want your investment BS; I just want to contribute money to their account.

what an awesome amazing, app to save for my daughter's future and to teach her the meaning of money. having her own debit card making her do chores and being able to click to transfer her money immediately. Genius, wish I would have came up with this.

love the app. my kids caught on QUICKLY to how debit cards work. we went to the store and I told them how much they had, they bought new toys... I let the card decline. hard lesson but its a real card, they shuffled their purchase and immediately learned how digital money and a digital wallet works. I would give it 5 stars, but it requires me to purchase a tablet for my kids in order for them to see their account. we cant access it on a browser. they cant use the lessons/learn feature.

They took the money and disappeared. I started using it when it was called gohenry and was free. They started taking 5$ which was ok and then 10$ per month without me noticing this time. I asked to get the money remaining there, about 700$ in their app and close my account. Now I can't access it or see anything and the money is gone. No cheque no transfer to my bank, no email about the. to expect it.

took 2 months to get my account setup, not user error. no refund for lost months either.

transfer of money to add to parent wallet takes over 3 business days to complete. Very inconvenient, especially if the child obtains birthday money and would like to add it instantly for safe keeping and shopping.

Good luck getting money off of it. You can't unless you use the actual card or find an atm. My child can't even use the card half the time because it only works in like 5 stores. They have put so much security in this app that its basically useless as anything but collecting money for a hobby. I have $10 I have had on there for a year because I can't use it anywhere and won't put anymore money on there because it just takes it and only let's you look at the balance.

I am thankful for the app. The lessons are teaching my Gen Alpha kid valuable money skills. 💰

3days to load a wallet to pay your kids is ridiculous other companies its instant and wish I went with them.

My child is never able to transfer money. we both receive an error every time we try.

The app is good; however, they take way too long just to ship the card. It's been a week and the status still shows "preparing to ship". I'll give them another day or two before trying another app.

I love having this for my kids. There's so many tools that teaches them responsible money skills and savings. I can also help them invest in savings and investment accounts.

update: Thank you for the response! in my case me and there father are married. I'd hope acorns can consider making the dads there own seperate wallet on the app. 🙏 thnxz for your time. This app is great so far. I deducted a start because there father isn't able to add money only transfer which will be a inconvenience. how when parents are co parenting. I believe dad should be able to also add money to the wallet and transfer on his own (deleted to fit update).

Overall, I’ve had a great experience with Acorns. The cards work reliably, which is a huge improvement from Greenlight where we constantly had issues. I also love how easy the app is to navigate. The only downside I’ve noticed is that you can’t change the PIN but everything else has worked really well for us so far. 😌

Acorns Early has been a terrific way to teach our kids about earning and saving their money. The app is easy to use and has worked flawlessly. Transferring money is quick and easy, the parent controls allow us to keep guard rails on spending and the kids learned a lot from the in app lessons. It's an easy 5 star rating from us.

I thought this would be a good app but it has a lot of issues I downloaded the app every time I try to sign up it would take me to my home screen or to the Google Play store. I had uninstalled and reinstalled and it still did it. I even restarted my phone and tried that and it still sent me to my home screen as well as Google Play store. could not even get in to sign up for a card or an account. not worth your time it's got too many glitches in too many issues.....

Don't waste your time. The app never worked as advertised for us. My kiddo was never able to use their debit card, the secondary parent was never able to add funds to the account, and the customer service team consistently ignores requests for help.

I have the app I have everything in my app every time I open my app, I always have to go make a new password and download a new app that i have already. I always have to reinstall the app every time to log in this is annoying.

This is a scam, I connected this to get my kids. On cards, and I never received the cards. My $5 that I put up on there. They took my $5, which I should have still been in my account the plan I picked was for $8, which it was nowhere near time. Cause you get like a 2 weeks a 14 day, you know, like a free trowspin, they took my money, then they keep on trying to take money. I never received no cards, no nothing, no emails, no, nothing about this app, this is a scam. Please do not fall for this.

never can contact help. Can't reset the pin, declines all the time the card, hard to transfer the money around, says use an atm to reset pin, but don't know where to go tried a million atms. everything is a fee no free atms. to look at the money you have to pay. .

This is a good app, however as a parent I need to be able to reconcile the money I'm putting into my children's account. Yet there is no way for me to look at the parent transactions during the month. I have to wait for the month end to get the report. This is highly inconvenient. Today after Christmas was past, I was trying to add money for my daughter of her remaining Christmas money so she could add it to her savings. Once I added the money to my parent account I suddenly had a different amt.
