well I tried to send a card today and it kept kicking me off the app. not happy ! not the first time I had issues with the app. the ai cards of celebrities started out ok but getting lame.

Keep the smash ups coming. They are all that I want to send. I love them.

This would be five star if you can type in any name you wanted.

App has made improvements since the previous time I used it. so far it's much more user friendly and allows navigation much more readily.

I just love the ecards. I'm terrible at remembering to pick up a card to send, and sometimes I just don't have the time in advance to do that. But, with ecards, I can design and send in real time.

Many issues. Takes more time to send a card here than running to the store and buying one. Recently when pushing send for a card the app closed down. This was after selecting and personalizing. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and repeated and got the same result.Totslly frustrating. seems to get little or no attention from the developers! Would give no stars if they had it

I can not get this app to work. I am stuck in a loop that keeps asking me to sign up, and when i hit the sign up button it says you have already signed up, but does not let me use the app. what a waste of $36 . I have reached out to the app numerous times through email and text and have not gotten a response. what a scam 😒

Not having a good experience with this app on my phone. It is cumbersome at best but even after uninstalling and reinstalling, the app just quits when I try to personalize my card. Very disappointing.

Don't even try to use this on any Android. The screen doesn't scroll making personalization or editing close to impossible. It won't let you delete an address box if you use a contact from your own or AG contact list. So, if you want to send something to two people, it makes you send it to three because adding one address box for a receiver in addition to the one listed, it forces you to do three. This used to be a great app and has gone to trash. I have tried multiple potential resolution

I've being using American Greetings for years. Love it, it's the best way to send greetings that are always on time.

Love this. Just wish you could always input the name or title of your choice and send by phone number, never needing an email address.

I bought a year's service of Ecards. And have done so for a few years. However this year my App is not WORKING. No one gets back to me when I send an Email either. I cannot get the App to open to send my sister her Birthday Greeting. She is out of the country and this is my only way to send a great greeting. HELP!!

Have a few issues with this app. I go through all the steps and AI wants to write my personal message. I write my own, but then can't get the AI to disappear and send the greeting. After several tries, I finally get it sent. Today the app keeps closing.its frustrating.

horrrible app. it did not send my ecard 1st. so my friend got it late I was then looking to cancel my membership and i turned off auto renew... at the moment I'm sure that's when this wretched company took 38.99 out of my. account. and did without my knowledge I didn't even get my email period. awful awful company!!!!

I've had this app for more than 10 years and they can't get it together. I just went through 4 builds of a card I wanted to send and it won't get past the card preview stage. You were so much better 2 years ago. I wont be renewing membership. I'm android on a Samsung 23FE.

Usually I love this app, and have been a subscriber to American Greetings since before the app. However - this morning I've wasted an hour trying to send a card. After filling in message, it doesn't appear in Preview, and no option to Send. Argh!

The last few times I have tried to use the app it won't work. I have been trying to send another B-Day card to my BFFand I am still having trouble. Why is this happening?

Finding this impossible to use. i must have tried at least 10 times. you cannot see what you're typing into the personal message, so it's impossible to make corrections. If/when I finally get a message typed in, the slightest move will delete it, then the signature box won't respond. This used to be such a great app to use. Not anymore, though.

I have renewed my subscription for the next year but the app will not update showing I've done it, but it tells me I've subscribed. Unable to send ecards until resolved. Can't find a way to resolve this in the app. What the hell!?!

I love using this app for birthdays and special occasions. But today is Father's Day and it keeps crashing. I finally got a message that there was a bug and check back after it's fixed. grrrr

A lot of problems with putting in the name of the person you're sending it to.And their email, you put something in, and it's impossible to go back and edit keep having to hit the back button on my phone

Please fix this app! I expected this to be a bit more sophisticated. The window to see the card and type a message is so small. There's a bug, words on top of words in certain type in boxes. Where is the feature to like my favorite cards that I'll reuse? The cards are cute 😍 and would like to use this regularly without being frustrated. I searched for free eCards. This pops up. I sign up, waste my time picking out a card, writing my message and entering all the information, and then when I click send it hits me with a €7.99 / month fee to send it!

Glitchy - frustrating! Trying to send a card that I edited 5 or 6 times and still not right.

it helps you take the time out in our busy lives to think about our relations and sending them personalized and customized messages in moments that matter.

Comes in handy when you need to send a greeting to a loved one or friend and it keeps them with the clutter of a card to have to take up space or throw away.

App doesn't work. When you choose a card instead of opening the card the app closes and there is nobody to contact! A huge waste of money!

I love American Greeting cards, and I love that they have an app now! Unfortunately, it's a little glitchy with my Android phone. I can't access all of my contacts because it won't scroll all the way down. And once I've typed out a message, I have to hit the preview button because it won't scroll down. I did message American Greetings but nothing was rectified. It's just easier to do it on my computer sometimes

For an annual subscription, I'm not impressed with the limited number of e-cards available. Most of them have been on here for the past 4 years. I also wish cratacards were accessible through text messages.

This app is hit and miss. I keep getting the error code "personalization: json" WHAT A JOKE IS APP IS!!! I've tried EVERYTHING to resolve this issue with no success! For example, clear cache, force stop, reboot phone, reinstall app, change WI-FI to cellular. IT WON'T WORK!!!! I just threw $6.99 out the window!! I'm very upset!!!! DON'T BUY, IT'S JUNK & all you'll get out of it is a HUGH HEADACHE!! I'm cancelling IMMEDIATELY!! Why create an app that doesn't work?? They should refund my lost $$$!

I have one card that I have been trying to send for a week. Either the app stops or everything I've put in is deleted. This "improved" version has so many issues that I'm thinking of cancelling.

Love the cards and ability to send. 3 stars for the app functionality. When I make a card, personalize and get ready to send, the app freezes, crashes or shuts down. rebooting makes you start all over again. I hope they fix these glitches because I really like the ideas behind this app!

I love my American Greeting eCards! I can always send out timely cards to my friends and family. The designs are great! No matter the mood or occasion, I can always find just the right card! It's the one subscription that I will never cancel.

I have used this App since 2020; however, the latest update in Aug 2025 has made it almost impossible to use. It frequently freezes or shuts down when in use and I am forced to sign in for Every. Single. Card. I probably will not renew my subscription😔

I love having the app and being able to send cards via text. What I do not like is having to login each time I want to use it.

App has recently been closing after I sign in. And when I am able to personalize my card and send it, my personal message isn't included. What's going on? This used to be a really good greeting card app.

Okay, I just read the reviews and see that there are lots of users having major problems. is anyone at American Greetings listening??? Every time I go in to send a card, I have to sign in with email and password before it lets me finish my task. I've used this app several times but now it is not working. I get an error when I try to email a e-card and when I press share nothing happens. This app is useless to me now after I've paid for it. I give up. If it does have a glitch you have to start all over from the beginning and then you have no idea if it's going to work again which my experience has been I do this five freaking times and it still doesn't work. Seems to be working now.

I love being able to subscribe to American eCards. It's an amazing way to remain in contact with friends and family in an economical, convenient and practical way. I send cards regularly. The responses I receive lets me know it is much appreciated.

Since the update, I can't access the app. it says invalid login. I'm especially upset because I paid for premium access for graduation season, and it stopped working. I have a friend who has surgery and can't send a card. HORRIBLE

Sends cards before ready & then didn't list recipients. Usually when you hit share another screen comes up and you enter the recipient This one just sent it off to who knows where and who knows who. Not a good feature for card app

I subscribed for a year, but every time I try to send a card, the pop up keeps asking me to become a member! I have restored my purchases, cleared cache and data so I could start again fresh and it still keeps asking me to subscribe. I need to send an ecard tonight and won't get to do so.

I have installed & uninstalled and reinstalled. The app errors with graduation cards, errors half the time when loading, so I tried to use the website to get the card scheduled but you can't schedule a card through the website during the trial period. I'm not liking my trial period. not going to pay for a year if this is how the first few days are.

Easy to select and edit. Some can be shared via text notification and others have to be delivered via email. But still easier than going out to the store to look for a card.

The app is fine. I like it. BUT... sadly the app falls victim to horrible customer service. I Subscribed for the membership price of $7/month +tx. After appx. a week, the app no longer recognized my membership. Even if I click on "Restore Purchases." Now Google Play Store Will Not refund my money because has exceeded 48 hours. They told me to contact developer. I did. Took A. G. a week to tell me I need to contact Google. They have my money, and I have an app that does not work! 😡

When it works, yay! More often than not, I get access denied, and I have to uninstall and reinstall it. Then it works for a day or two, and I have to repeat the process. Website is fine. App is a nonstarter.

Not impressed with the way names are entered. Also don't have a not of more current names. And why do I have to pay an additional fee the music feature? Too costly!!

Love the cards themselves, especially the smash-ups. They are clever and fun. The only downside is that the user interface to enter the name SUCKS!

I like the app, I'd like a little bit more personalization for the contacts. who the person is in relation to you etc... maybe the ability to sync The contacts I already have in my phone so I don't have to manually enter these dates...

Bad, bad, unbelievably, really, really bad. Stupid, incompetent. Nobody, absolutely nobody would send a physical greetings card along with a page or two advertisement for the card company along with an enrollment form for the company. But, this is what happens when you send one of American Greetings cards. Instead of sending a link to your card and message only a link is sent to the card and message and a bunch of other stuff. I truly regret using this company.

All my friends, relatives. just absolutely LOVE getting cards from me. I usually send multiple cards. American Greeting cards have such a variety of cards that fits all occasions specially the ones that talk, sing, and dance. I am so happy that I subscribe, worth the money, which is really inexpensive!!

RIP Off! Don't waste your money. The app has an issues! It will not reconize that I have a paid subscription! It keeps asking me do I want to join. My subscription shows in Google as paid with an automatic renewal. I have contacted AGE and was told to uninstall and reinstall, which I did to no good out come. It still will not allow me to send or get a refund. All I can do is cancel the renewal! Can you even count how much profit they are making by only allowing you to use this app 2 times?

Do not waste your money on this app! I have a paid account with an account numer! Yet when I attempt to use the app or website it keeps asking me if I would like to become a member? I am a member and yes I was able to reach out only once to CS. Now none of the hotlinks to email them on the website fuction. I was instructed to uninstall the app and reinstall it. Well, I did and not a thing has changed. I can not send a ecard without purchasing another membership! What a rip off!

I love the card options, especially the ones with celebrities. It's super easy to share on Facebook or email privately. I do recommend this app for all of your holidays and birthdays.

I'm not sure who to contact but I have to uninstall and reinstall this app every time I use it to make it work properly. It's a little frustrating. It says "error access denied" even though I have an account.

Do not waste your money on this app. I used it once on April 1st. It continues to charge me for 4 months now yet says "ACCESS DENIED" when I try to open the app. It doesn't show u pl in Google Play subscriptions where there is supposed to be a way to cancel it, but I can't. I want my money back for this misleading app that steals my $ EVERY month without allowing me access. I give it NO STARS!!! I had to give 1 star to allow my review to post

I'm glad to see that names can be spelled, now. A needed improvement. I'm hoping for more good Smashups but, overall, a very good app.

no save option for card in progress... if the app closes, you lose your work. other than that, impressed.

This is a great way to send a card via email, text, messenger, telegram, ect. No one sends regular snail mail anymore so this is the next best thing !

when sending a card via email, fill in the email address in the "andriod-share-sheet" area. Apparently we're all supposed to know instinctively that this is what it means.

Very clumsy - text entry and editing are almost unusable due to the on-screen keyboard covering the input box. There are also no page navigation options - once you are in a preview, you are stuck.

Have had this subscription for at least 10 years now and it sure is handy, especially these days when postage has increased, (but then again the subscription sure has increased/month so much over these years too, I may have to reconsider)!⁹

Great eCards. I wish I could write in a name instead of having to choose a name. The name I need isn't there many times.

Nice cards, extremely clumsy user interface. I think I'll stick to the laptop, web-based interface. They have the same cards, and tailoring then is much much more responsive. C'mon guys, fix this thing. I'd send more cards, you'd get more free face time.

The setup is nice. However, when you personalize a card, many names are not available. You should use the PNP Santa Claus app. On that app, you can get many more names.

4th September 2023this is awesome so very funny Ok update 5th September 2023 the app stopped working and kept shutting itself down after I have already used it for a couple of times. Therefore reduced to a two star rating. As I had to pay for a subscription that I can't use.

If I could give this app a negative review I would. Trying to sign up to order a smash up for someone and it won't let sign up. No matter the method of payment, card, PayPal, checking account, it says error processing payment. Then when I go back and try to do it again it says my email and password don't match. Infuriating!

I entered my card information SEVERAL times. It only allowed review of the original message but never showed the customized version OR the option to enter the recipient. Additionally, there was no option to share by either email or text. My membership is current, and I am VERY DISSATISFIED.

UPDATE 6.20.23: if I could give this app negative stars I would. I paid for a premium subscription at the beginning of the year and app is literally unusable. Share link doesn't work anymore, email link just laughs at my email address that it picks up from contacts. Pissed. This app used to work great. Ever since I renewed membership sometimes the sound doesn't play in the previews and the share link no longer works at all. I have to go to the website to get a link to copy. Highly annoying!

Keeps telling me invalid json string when I try to email & won't give me link to TEXT! On the PC it gives you link to TEXT but you can't copy it to use on your phone! Really bad for a PAID service. Read your reviews! Please advise if this app will be fixed because I see really old reviews complaining. I suggest everyone should email contact!

I would have rated zero but can't. Why did e-cards have to change up a perfect app. Now I can't send one friggin card bc up pops a red no no no message. I'm canceling my membership. I know there's better than this. I have been a long-time customer.

Worthless. I posted this review months ago and still isnt fixed. Terrible app. Can't add emails, can't send SMS, why can't app developers fix this after feedback from so many customers? Why does this even exist?

The app looks fine on my android. Similar to other peoples experience though, when I went to send the card, I got a json error, and was not able to send the ecard.

It didn't work, wouldn't load cards, then it did. Now it doesn't. Two days now. Click on a preview get a white screen that doesn't go away. Left it for over an hour. More than once. Using a Galaxy Tab S3 running 9. Mommy ain't happy.

The app looks great, but it just doesn't deliver. Literally. It throws a json error when trying to send by email and trying to share any other way doesn't work at all. It's useless in its current form. I have been a subscriber for years on the PC version, but the android version fails miserably.

This app failed on my first attempt to send an ecard. I was able to set up a card but received a "personalization error" (json string) after selecting the send button to email. Note, I used an email address from my American Greetings contact list. I moved forward to the American Greetings site on my mobile device and was able to perform the same functions without an error response. I've deleted the app and will stick with using the website.

I will give no stars if possible. I paid for 2 years subscription but often times unable to share links. Total waste of money. Very disappointec.

This app needs serious technical help. Ecards will only send if you do NOT personalize them. The receiver won't know by looking at the card who sent it.

I have an active American Greetings subscription, but because the AG app is not working correctly (json error), I am unable to email any e-cards. I hope a fix is applied soon. I cannot use the phone app or the web, or PC apps. I am unable to log into the SmashUps app also.

What happened to a perfectly good app that I have used for years! This "updated' app is awful. Everytime I try to send an ecard I get a message that tells me it cannot be sent. The message makes no sense at all. Something about personalizations. Definitely no help or explanation at all. I am going to have to find another app. I miss the original app more than I can say. Great card selection, but the Android app just doesn't work. I can't send any cards once they're complete. I have to use the web browser on my PC.

Absolutely terrible. Get the error "personalizations invalid json string" every single time I've ever tried to send a card. Always have to resort to the website. This app is garbage.

Having difficulty finishing card, the name list is not identical. Nadine on one list, not on another card's list. Finished filling out a card but it wouldn't play the preview. Tried again, no luck. Has a few bugs that need to be worked out. Will have to go back to website until fixed. App will be great when it gets cleaned up.

Lots of glitches! Previewed card then no way to get back so had to start over. Accidentally clicked on add recipient and there was no way to delete it and it wouldn't let me send the card till I filled it out, so had to go back. When I tried to add gift card or press send, kept getting error message: "personalization: invalid json string" Just downloaded so does not need to be updated. Had AG account for years, never had these issues.
