This app was doing ok for a while, but for the past 4 to 5 months the app will not pick up the voice mails. I have to phone in to listen to voicemail. I don't have the paid version, have made sure it is up-to-date, and have made sure I don't have many voicemails in the app.

I am not receiving all of my messages, for some reason I hv to go into my voicemail where it tells me I hv 10 new messages. Visual voicemail maybe be showing only 2 new messages. Also the messages that I deleted on visual voicemail are not being deleted in my voicemail and way are they saving in the cloud??? So Disappointed.

Was great during the trial period, but everytime I try to subscribe, it gives me an error saying maintenance is going on (it's been almost 10 days). So now it's a useless app.

It don't play my messages anymore I've installed it and uninstalled, it. still no changes. That's the only problem I have with boost when they update. Not everything gets updated. And when it's updated it doesn't work.

USELESS APP!!!!!!! no idea what happened with the last phone & app update but its a 99% chance my voicemails are NOT accessible. calls come in, says I have a voicemail, & it's not there. lots of IMPORTANT calls that have left messages & i can not access them. needs to be fixed ASAP. can't fully uninstall to reinstall.

I am two weeks into my new boost account and the free voicemail is asking me for a payment. And there is a widget called boost diagnostic you open it it shows my phone number and says active how is that diagnosing anything?!?!! not only that the voicemail is asking me for a pin they never had me set up so I can't access my voicemails at all!!

2023 Boost forced this update, visual voicemail disappeared from home screen & voicemails nowhere to be found. After troubleshooting was finally able to find voicemails in archives but the app still does not work. Here we are 3 years later in 2026 & while app does work somewhat it constantly delays putting voicemails through sometimes hours or next day. The volume is so low that you can't hear messages play, even when the volume setting on your phone is all the way up.

This app is never up to date. It will say I have 6 new voicemails and still show the ones from the day or days before. Eventually they will arrive after opening the app as to when just never really know. This is the information age, it should be instantaneous, and you want to charge money for this service? Its highly disappointing.

It will not work on my phone. I don't know if it's because I'm on prepaid, or what's happening. It gives no information on what the problem might be. I've cleared data between tries, reinstalled, on WiFi or off, on cell only or off, on VPN or off, turned airplane mode on then off to reset my connection, accepted every prompt and permission, "reset visual voicemail", nothing works. It simply times out at the "verifying your account information" popup step, and describes how to call my voicemail.

I for some reason really like reading the voicemail messages. I'm not sure why really, idk maybe it's because some people are very long winded. What would have taken awhile only took a few seconds.

I don't understand why I have to update it so frequently, just updated it July 11th. Every time I update it the only way to get my messages is to call a Texas phone number....

I love it. It's great how it transcribes messages so you can just read them fast and if you want when you have the time you can listen to them. Also you can look and just skip to which ever message you'd like to. Deleting and cleaning up is easy, so is saving or archiving. It's the best voicemail I think I've had. ☺️

Wish the speech to text part was permanent. as an individual with disabilities I need my voicemails and voice calls turned into readable text for me.

it will not load, I've had this phone 2 years and in that time I've attempted to use this app a handful of times. it never loads. not with a update or anything. also if it ever did load , do I have to pay for a service to get my own voicemail? its a waste of time and a swirling loading screen.

I like this service especially because sometimes my vregular VM does not alert me that I have a new message.

so far visual voicemail has been awesome but I been going thru so much cyber hacking. It's hard to know when to update apps. Beware when uploading new apps, you maybe inviting Malware or Spyware into your personal life, home Internet and vehicle if you use Bluetooth. I got 26 months being cyber hacked, stalked and harassed. My advice is to upload a good VPN.

There is no way to delete old voice messages other one at a time and that does not make sense..could you develop a better way???

your voice message system is only seemingly available correctly if you pay for upgrade to Premium. When I try to listen to a voicemail message you can't hear the message even if sound is all the way up. What good is having a benefit if it does you no good?!!!😞

I like to read my messages more than selecting a key to listen or re listen. with visual voicemail I can read and save the details all I want.

Been with Boost so long when I go in-store for upgrade they ALWAYS lol and say..."Man...We haven't offered the plan you have in YEARS,looks like you've been grandfathered over...4-lines for $100 a month" so I can honestly say I may have an understanding on their whole operation and to this day NEVER been disappointed.... love the ease of the main App you can easily upgrade a phone pay your bill even get tech support help amongst a few others so... I'm not surprised that the voicemail is awesome

Will not work for me. Update: Despite the fixes it still doesn't work. Only difference is now it says it works and doesn't still. And sends me notification every 5 minutes to install the broken app. Update: Despite another update the app still won't work.

Voicemail greeting is in Spanish and I can't change it. App support page is outdated. Have called and received 0 support just long wait time and didn't walk through procedures. Contacted additional time's both phone and chat boost has done 0 to help. Also voicemail notifications don't work despite settings. This app randomly won't let me hear my voicemails, and then tries pushing me to download the paid version where the voicemail comes with text. I can't use any other voice mail either. Pretty infuriating to be honest! I don't pay for a phone service,so I can't hear my voicemails!

UPDATE: Got a new phone around 3/2026 and the app worked for about a month and then stopped working AGAIN!!! Update 4/2024: It's been over a year and the app still isn't working. 3/2023: The app doesn't work anymore. My voicemails never appear. I'm not even notified that I have any. I have to always call voicemail after call's to check. Been like this for weeks! I was hoping the update would fix it but it didn't.

Convenient and easy. I hate the whole "Traditional" voicemail for cell phones- call in, listen to the long and tedious AI making you jump through hoops just to hear a 30sec message. I'm so glad Boost offers a free Visual Voicemail. I'm not using the visual portion where I want to read my text messages, but I appreciate that I can go straight to the message No must no fuss no bother.

Horrible App to use. Notification comes up that you have a voicemail. You click the notification and the App pops up and immediately force closes every time. When it does open, if you try to delete a voicemail, it closes again.

I posted this in 2024: "Like everyone else says, this app sucks since Dish took over. Fix it Dish/Boost!!!!!" Well, it's now 2026 - Again did the recent update and nothing has changed. Still have to use the prompts to hear voicemails. Still continue to get the error code [8-21] when I open the app. I subscribe to Boost for phone and also to Dish. So, what is going on?

I rely on this app heavily when it works. I believe all phones should have an app like visual voicemail, because it makes it easy to see the details of a voicemail such as date and time, how long the message is, and which number left it. Unfortunately, sometimes it mysteriously stops working. This latest time, the usual strategy of clearing storage and cache is not working. It's been unusable for over a month. Very disappointing.

Get rid of this. Voicemail was fine before. Why does it need to access nearby devices? Why can it turn on notifications after I turn them off? Why can't I stop this from making my phone ding every 5 minutes when there is no voicemail? It's been over a year. I would think Boost would have gotten rid of it by now because I know I would if I could. I've been a customer for more than 15 years and really can't stand the control this app has over my phone. I'd give this app zero stars if I could, this is a frustrating and infuriating way to receive and "organize" voicemails. Rather than having an inbox to view messages, the numbers they came from, or anything useful that comes standard with most other phones, you are forced to call a number that acts as a modern version of the archaic answering machine. If there's supposed to be a separate inbox, it doesn't work. I've missed too many important voicemails to count because of this.

I can't remember the last time my voicemail app actually worked. It always tells me "unable to proceed" after it attempts to update in app and suggest I just "call" my voice mail, which is exactly what I end up doing at random because it never tells me when I actually have a voicemail. And of course I can't just delete the app all together but what's the point in having it if it's literally empty and just tells me to call. Been a customer WAY too long to have to fight to see voice messages. 😒

Prior to this mandatory upgrade my voicemail worked. Since the upgrade, I may get a caller notification displayed or I may not. So, I never know how many voicemails I actually have unless I call in each day. In my case it will sometimes attempt to retrieve voicemails but errors during validating my account. At this point, my only option given is to call in. This is a known problem that Boost acknowledges. Yet months have past with no fix available. This is pathetic and totally Unacceptable!!!!!!

The "upgrade" doesn't work. I get annoying pop-ups all day long saying to install the new software. The last time I did that, my saved messages were gone! I'm so mad. My new voice messages don't come through, and the icon will just appear out of nowhere, claiming I have a new voicemail when I don't. Why can't I have a basic voicemail that actually works like it used to? Smh.

I had my voice-mail set up but when I did a software update, I was forced to switch to this Visual Voice-mail app. Now, I'm getting a message saying "We were unable to provision your Voice-mail" & to contact my service provider. Why do I have to go through all this just because I was forced to do an unwanted update that led to a whole new Voice-mail app?! I'm highly PISSED!!!!

The app suggested an update, so I did it. Visual voicemail worked just fine until I updated it! Now I don't get any of my messages via visual voicemail, I have to actually call to get my voicemails. I don't even get notifications for voicemails the majority of the time. I am so frustrated! I've tried checking all the settings, disabling and then enabling the app......nothing is working. I tried calling customer service and they weren't helpful either, I did what they said and still nothing!

There are people who are having luck with the app. That's all well and good, but most everyone is not lucky. My experience has been similar to all those 1 stars. The app lags, doesn't show voice mails that people text and call me that they left, and voice mails are archiving themselves, eating up my storage. I can't imagine anyone who would require a fancy voice mail with all the bells and whistles, when they could just have a basic, here's your voice mail if you care, instead. Unnecessary app.

It literally just doesn't work... It's hard to review something you can't actually use. I can see missed calls and I'll sometimes get a notification saying I have a voicemail, but they don't show up. Terrible!!! Doesn't work. I initially loaded it and it worked. I had to load it on my wife's phone twice before it worked. It has been a couple months and I got a voicemail today and it didn't work. I only knew I had received 4 voicemails because I received text messages telling me I had a voicemail. I checked my voice mail and nothing was there. I tried to refresh and that did nothing. It is garbage!! The original voicemail worked great. Hey genius, if it works don't fix it!!!

I'm fed up with this new voice mail application. It's doesn't show me any voice messages like the older one did. I rather I didn't upgrade this one. Please fix the error problem as well. Pop ups from hell! This "upgrade" is utterly useless trash! It doesn't even work, so why did they force it on us like this? The other app worked perfectly fine. This one keeps popping up with an error message that interrupts anything else I'm trying to do to tell me it isn't working but I can call to access my voicemail that way. Really? We're going backwards to do voicemail old school like that, but you call this useless trash an "upgrade"? Fix it or give us back the one that worked.

If I could give this a minus 1 rating I would. Since boost mobile switched to visual voicemail I haven't been able to get my messages unless I call my visual voicemail. And I'm getting complaints about people not being able to even leave a message at times. I want my old mailbox option back and uninstall this one as I keep getting error notifications when I click on the app icon. What's visual about having to call and get my messages now. Such an inconvenience and I'm annoyed to say the least.

Like all the other reviews, this app was forced upon me, and like all the other reviews, this voicemail app is absolute trash. With every update it becomes more unstable and at this point this app literally doesn't work at all! I have to call in to get voicemails now. Boost Mobile & Dish, there isn't enough space here to outline how poor your cellular service has become. Get it together or I'm out.

Awful with a capital A. I didn't get a message from my job because there was no notification and the inbox doesn't work. I have uninstalled, reset and it still doesn't work! All it says is "verifying account" which says will take a minute! HA! I am almost ready to pull the plug (no pun intended) and I cannot stand to talk to some person halfway around the world! Fix the goddamn thing please!!

It's the worst. It worked perfectly until it was mandatoraly "upgraded" (so-called). After that it did not work at all and I lost all my old saved messages. Spent over two hours on the phone with customer care and got nowhere. It still does not work to this day. But of course the mandatory auto payments work flawlessly. Text service is terrible now too. It's pitiful.

Among all the other issues people have raised, I refuse to give an "all my files" permission to a voicemail app. Fought the update as long as I could, and now I have no access to my voicemails. You don't need all my files to play voicemails that aren't even stored on my phone. This is easily the worst part of being a Boost customer and has me looking to switch.

This app does not work and should never have been inflicted on your customers. Not only does it fail to connect with my account data, it constantly interrupts the apps I am using to repeat telling me about this failure. I've uninstalled the app and will not install it again until you send an email to your customers assuring us that the problem is fixed. (NOT just that you're "working on it".)

Lost all my old voice mails. I was forced to update to this new version supposed to be better & improved. I still can't get them, I have to call voice mail every time. It is very annoying. I do not recommend this app. Seriously thinking of switching to another. Two months later I am still having issues with this app. There were numerous important messages I never got. For instance my doctor's appointment needed to be rescheduled, they called me & left a message which I never got:( Frustrated!

This is the worst app experience I've ever had! Finally installed after I realized that was the only way to receive new voicemails going forward. All my old voicemails are gone, and no they aren't in the archived folder. I had two voicemails from a deceased relative saved there. Guess I'll never get to listen to that voice again. Pointless garbage! I deleted after downloading because it failed to retrieve messages. So tired of having the notification at the top so I had to go to settings and completely turned off voicemail notifications. I just won't get voice-mails anymore. It wants you to download the app but still call to check them. It makes zero sense! This app is just like the original one except nothing works!! Save your time and sanity and just don't.

If I could give it A zero I would. As others have indicated we were forced to use the visual version or go through 10 steps to access the traditional method... The old way of accessing our voicemail was much easier. I will start to look for another carrier today. In addition, there is no icon which shows a notification that you have voicemails so you continually have to use the pull down menu to check. To make matters worse... it should have been an option. Very disappointing.

This is the worst app ever!! The Boost agents act like it's the first time they have herd of the voice mail synchronization issue. They put you through to multiple level techs that do the exact same trouble shooting steps on every level, with no results. After multiple 2hr long calls, no solution was given. The app will not allow you to remove it. Boost will not allow access to any other visual voicemail apps, I've tried them all and they are blocked. I'm seriously looking into a new company

Forced to install and expected to listen to whatever in order to set it up... meanwhile there is a voice-mail I can't receive unless I set this up... no idea why it needs permission to unrelated apps, Bluetooth, etc. total Bullsh*t...

The previous app worked fine but i was forced to download this. I opened it and all of my old messages are now gone AND it gave me an error message... Unable to retrieve voicemail messages. In addition, the notifications won't clear even after calling voicemail and the app keeps opening up randomly every few minutes, even while i am in other apps and games. Please fix these issues.

After seeing all of the reviews, I tried to ignore the notification to switch to this voicemail app and continue to use the old one. My old voicemail app, which I've never had issues with before, all of a sudden stopped being able to download new voicemails. So I was forced to download this new app. And once I downloaded it, I lost the new voicemails that my old app could not download. Nothing like being forced to get something you don't want.

Biggest piece of garbage I've ever installed, and it was "required". The app can't retrieve my voicemail, and opens on its own every 5-10 minutes to tell me that it can't connect. I would rate this at zero stars if possible. Time to get away from Boost mobile, since they're the ones that forced this garbage.
