New version is kind of slow and has some glitchy behavior but it is improving each update. Hopefully they fix being able to add some devices (I'm looking at you Lenovo clock)

I only use this app to play audio books on my Alexa device and since the update it can barely do that. it doesn't show my entire audio book library and I lost the ability to change chapters.

Bad interfaces and its hearing is decreasing in quality while its still gathering data left and right

With the Alexa 2.0, this device dies what it wants when it wants. I was on my app, in the calendar and out of the blue, you see a supposed loading of all 3000+ photos that are on my phone uploading the the Alexa device WIthout me settings it ip or giving permission. I immediately to Alexa to stop and she said she couldn't help me. This is an example of AI doing what it wants!!!!

Your app is completely broken. I can no longer add rooms or speaker groups. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! Edit: The latest update seems to have fixed the problem with creating a group, but I still only get directions when I try to create a home theater group. Unfortunately the directions aren't working for my fire TV. There is no option to create a home theater in my TV's menu. I need to be able to make it in the app. HELP!!

it constantly interrupts and cuts off. most of the time it doesn't pick up what I'm saying. like I will sit there and talk for 1-2 minutes and find out the app isn't picking up anything. I've had it send countless reports to amazon. but nothing changes and nothing gets fixed. I've used other a.i assistant apps like this, and they have no problem with hearing what I'm saying. the app constantly makes things up as it goes. and it has literally told me it was doing that, instead of giving facts.

Alexa used to be great until they decided to change Alexa's voice and the list and note to what they think was an upgrade. in my opinion they were down grades. if something isn't broken why fix it? SMH

The app just seems to get worse every time it updates. Now "Lists & Notes" doesn't show notes.

pairing with my older device isn't working. I'm in an endless loop of forced auto setup twice which doesn't work before I'm allowed manual setup. then the connection drops when I try that and i have to start over. this is after updating the app and restarting my router

This app has gotten too big for its britches. It's glitch and slow and there are too many clicks to find what I'm looking for instead of just being there when I open it. I am currently switching it out for our Google Hime with Gemini.

horribly made app. no clue where anything is. everything has a mind of its own and doesn't work as planned. have to re-setup devices and skills regularly. can't find where the skills section are on this app. I think the app can do a lot if well designed and well made but as of right now it's useless. Google home is so much smoother than this. wish I had known that before investing in all these echo devices and fire TV sticks. wasted money.

Alexa is losing her ability to complete basic functions. Last night, and for the last five years she has been able turn the clock display off, and now tonight she says she is a model that does not have a clock display. I'm literally looking at the lit up clock display. I asked her to check her log and she said, "yes, I completed that task last night at 10:40pm. now she said she thinks she is a model without a display. very frustrating.

Three years later, and this app is still a two. Barely. Terrible navigation, non intuitive, and they seem to regularly add one more step for me to get to what I need. Can't even seem to 'favorite' and devices anymore. Ridiculous.

I rated this 1 star in 2024. it will continue to be 1 star in late 2026 as it literally always crashes and gives me a blank screen. I always have to reopen it, even if ive opened the app half an hour ago. it never loads my one lightbulb I use. and it doesn't let u archive other devices. and they made it super hard to get to the routines section. I will probably switch to another smart bulb service because its a lot of frustration.

It sucks. They've made so many changes to this app that I can't find anything anymore. Where do I find the skills I've enabled? Where did you hide the place to indicate whether or not Alexa did what you told it to do? I'm tapping on everything in an attempt to find these (and other) things. The UI used to be intuitive. Now things are buried who knows where.

I've been using your new app layout for a while now and still liked the old one better. In general, I haven't been as happy with Alexa since all the AI implementations started rolling out, even though I've been impressed with AI everywhere else.

Changed me over to Alexa Plus with no input from me, no permissions, nothing. Clearly breaking all UK GDPR putting me on a trial for a hugely expensive service I didn't ask for. And the new Alexa voice is extremely annoying, typical AI, over emphasising the wrong words, bad cadence, just awful. Do one, Tech Bros.

I love my Alexis sometimes quite difficult to get in and change things and update things

it is very rudimentary compared to Google and general internet. it also forgets too much. must repeat yourself frequently and often. I do not use as much as I would like due to heavy system limitations

I absolutely love my Alexa! It’s easy to use, convenient and makes everyday life that little bit better. One of my favourite things is listening to Hearts Radio, which Alexa plays effortlessly. Great sound, hands-free convenience and brilliant entertainment. Definitely a great addition to the home. Highly recommended!

Removed most functionality in favor of their BS AI. I remember a time when companies did what was best for their customers instead of trying to force their customers to do what was best for the company.

When telling the device through the app to forget a previously added Bluetooth device, instead of forgetting it, it tries to connect to the device. Also, when playing music on all devices at the same time through the app, i.e., kitchen Echo Dot and Fire TV, the music plays out of sync.

So 6 years on from my last review and this app has only gotten worse! I don't think Amazon cares about its customers. I've been unable to use this app for nearly 3 weeks now. I have to chase up updates as they never phone back. If you'd like an app that doesn't work, causes nothing but stress, has no workable customer service team then by all means download today!! If you're looking for something to actually work, leave well alone!!

I guess if you like advertisements, by all means. Seriously, I disabled the screen on all on my echo devices. I purchased my echo show's to display my photos, time and weather and turn my lights on and off nothing else. Why would I want to update the app when I couldn't find a single good review and with every update the app just gets worse, you have to wonder if they even read their reviews and what's up with all the stupid suggestions on the app? If I want Alexa to do something I'll ask.
