cant reset password without knowing old numberplates as if having access to your own email and phone number isn't enough. if an email and my own phone isn't secure enough then why would it even be necessary in the first place. why dont we just use retina scans and anal probs to be safe

Absolutely Rubbish. cant reset password. no verification code. unresponsive. suspect its a scan app. uk boroughs should stop using as this app stops people parking and shopping in their communities.

I personally despise parking apps, and this one just frustrates me no end, the amount of times it doesn't allow me to log in or will not send a code to reset a password, I end up spending 20 mins extra sat in the van ringing a useless automated service.

RingGo is very easy to use

you pay more on this app than what is advertised wen you get to the ca park. so I deleted the app and pay the actual price at the machine. Not sure whats the convenient charge for when I got to past the machine to get back into the car. Also when I pay for 24 hours parking but got 15 min to leave when I pay at th machine. Shame NCP gone bankrupt.

Always been ok except lately when I try to extend my session it is only giving me the option to extend for 10 hours, this is no good as I only want to extend for maybe 1 or 2 hours. I therefore have tried to start a new session but it won't let me until the current one has completely ended, so then there is a lapse between that ending and the next one starting which worries me that I am going to get a parking ticket if it is checked during the break. Please fix.

Won't send code to non-UK numbers. WTAF? Booth at lot says 7 pounds for all day. Great! but that is until midnight. Can't use the machine to buy, say, 16 hours until 9am tomorrow. Does the lot close? doesn't say. Or I guess I have to come back to the lot at 1 minute past midnight to buy another all day. Not very intelligent system or coding...

Well it does work but I pre-booked (due to poor mobile signal in the area) a 4 hour slot to start at 13:20. I made the booking at 12:50. I duly paid on my credit card, all without issue. I then drove to the destination arriving approx 13:40. So I looked in the app and it had started counting down from 11:32 ending at 15:32! There's obviously an issue here, how can the countdown start before I've even paid?

The app is somewhat glitchy. It usually opens to say no locations found. After clearing cache, force stopping the app and restarting my android phone, it occasionally starts working as intended. Today I couldn't get it to work on my phone at all and spent an hour getting it booked on my laptop. Info Sorry an error has occurred. on GrapheneOS, on a Google Pixel 7 Pro, when attempting to login, I just got an error pop up that just says "Sorry! An error has occurred"

Disappointed that the app either doesn't show the location or presents the wrong location.. appealed a charge which was declined due to wrong location.. ended up with a £100 fine.. never using the app again.

Does not accept non-UK phone numbers on the app. I was able to use a European number on the Website. We'll see if it works when I need it with the non-UK car

hidden prices. you select your alloted time, all good, press pay, then extra money ontop. check the receipt and charged a convenience fee? then extra for a text message. hidden charges are rubbish.

App not working. Have used it before without a problem but now it can't find any nearby parking when I'm actually in the car park. Ended up having to book parking via my phone's browser. After I've booked via browser it shows up in my Recent tab in the app. But if I click on it I get 'Sorry an error has occurred, please try again'. Tried uninstalling and clearing cache but the app just won't work.

Can't register without a uk phone number. I appreciate there aren't many tourists in Sunderland, but this is a silly oversight.

this app doesn't seem to work if you have a foreign registered car. the app appears to work and the money is taken, however Thanet council seems to be unable to see that you have paid and issue parking fines. Thanet council also seem to ignore the ringgo generated appeals letter and keep asking for proof they have already had. someone needs to explain to Thanet council how this app works so they stop wasting their time and everyone elses

Runs fine on stock Android but blocks login on GrapheneOS (genuine Pixel, Play Store install, sandboxed Play services). Your device integrity enforcement should whitelist GrapheneOS - it's more secure than stock, and most banks already accept it.

The convince fee of 20p added to every transaction is ridiculous. It's even added if you have to extend a booking you already have. It's way more expensive that it should be and just pure greed. just an awful app pure and simple.

They charge a service fee right on the last screen that's unavoidable and in addition to the parking charges. I thought adding hidden fees at the end of a transaction was illegal nowadays.

I honestly can’t believe an app like this is allowed to operate. It’s supposed to make parking easier, but instead it creates unnecessary stress. I’ve tried registering more than 10 times and still can’t pay for my parking. An app that makes something this simple so difficult is incredibly frustrating. I really hope someone develops a better, more reliable parking app soon.

Whoever designed this probably had the brain the size of a seagull. Not only does this not work with foreign numbers but their AI over the phone is completely useless. If you ever see a parking meter using this drive away emidiatly!

Still doesn't work for international numbers. Tried the website, but never received a verification code even though it said it was sent. At least allow registration WITHOUT a phone number. What do you need that for anyway? How about not.

Repeated failure to connect. Login process is unpredictable and doesn't accept previously used account & password, having to reset the app and/or account each time it is used.

Verification is a pain when you don't send anything... Although registration through online page works, and then you can login through the app. Will test it this weekend and update later.

Decent at best most of the time. HOWEVER BE AWARE WHEN PAYING TO PARK. Recieved a pcn, after paying to park down a road, that is a side road of itself (technically separate roads but same name). When checking the locations, they have both of these "separate" payment zones directly next to eachother on the map. Definitely done to catch people out. Now Havering wants more money out of me, after I already paid to park.

Being told on screen 'for security reason app only works on verified devices?' Up untill now works well. Delete app then reinstall makes no difference to warning keeps popping up. Any suggestions to fix. Can't park car now.

I wish I could give you zero stars. this app doesn't deserve 1. if you have an international number, you're out of luck. I tried to register with the app. I tried registering on the website. I tried calling and paying by phone. all systems failed. I tried to get the verification by sms and email and both failed. I chatted with their support system and it said to pay by phone. I called the number and the automated agent would not accept my number plate details. This app is so bad.

Verification code sent via SMS is completely bugged and won't validate within the app. The fact there is a SMS limit is ridiculous. Absolutely useless app and a joke of a company. Don't waste your time with this bugged app and find an alternative car park with a parking app that actually works and has a seamless process.

Does not work on Graphene inspite of installing from Google Play Store. Disappointing. Reply to developer's comment: all my banking apps and Uber (which also require location and Google Play Services) work on Graphene. So highlighting the dependency doesn't help.. I can only point out the gap. I'm aware of and have moved on to the other alternatives.

Works well with a stable internet connection but app hangs if no or unstable connection. This occurs in the latest and previous versions on Pixel handsets (7,8 & 10)

It was nit possible to use a new card added to Google Wallet. It was only showing an expired card as the only option.

Infuriating app. I had previously used the app with a rental car which made it impossible to access my account as I didn't remember the number plate. Deleting the account and starting from scratch didn't work as the system kept claiming my number was associated with an exiting account.

Allegedly, more secure than a bank app. It requires a certified device to park a car. Seriously?

After recent updates the app no longer allows me to login. Says my operating system is insecure despite the fact I'm actually running a far more secure version of Android, grapheneos. Will have to use other providers now.

Error message when trying to change payment method. Locks up when trying to deactivate Autopay.

International numbers don't work on this app, good luck! Calling them is even worse since the bot can't understand human voices. I tried several accents and it still didn't work. Some spots have a booth to pay but only take coins and some are vandalized so I couldn't read the screen prompt. Parking tickets cost 100 pounds so it's up to you if you want to pay that. If you're from out of the country, don't even bother downloading this app..

bad, can't log on due to vague security notifications about making sure phone is up to date. very very bad. this is the only way to pay for some parking in the local area. Local Council should cancel and withdraw from any involvement with this service. if you want to be involved with the public sector as a company then you shouldn't have such a flakey app

Disgusting app. Never sends me a verification code to create the account. then when booked by calling it scammed me. I put to book for 5 hours and it only did it for 2, when when I extended it booked like it cost me 5 hours. SCAMMERS

Amended my review down. Today the app has started adding an extra 10p for SMS notifications even with that option deselected. No way around it that I could find. Bug or scam, you decide.

Registration a nightmare. Stood in rain as no signal in multi storey car park trying to justify my existence. Verify this, wrong, send again, wrong, only one more go, oh wrong again even though it's what we sent so we'll delete your account. I give up, drive car elsewhere. Then a thank you for registering email, all set...ah wait you need to verify your mobile! No code sent, reset password, no, won't let me do that. Finally I re registered and possibly it works. Will only use as last resort!

I have had a good experience using this app, but since upgrading to Graphene OS I have found that I can no longer log in. Please could the development team have a read of the Graphene OS Attestation compatibility guide and let me use the app again!?

horrendous. we parked in Lichfield and because of a poor signal we could not download the app. we then rang the phone number on the signage,it would not accept our cars registration. I ran to the hotel for accurate directions to their carpark and returned to the car. My wife made more attempts to download the app and ring the company in order to pay. We left after ten minutes. Once logged into the hotel WiFi the app sprang into life and downloaded. We were fined £70. Avoid RinGo. appealed twice.

Cannot change the default payment method without first deleting the existing default method first. But why? Why can't I just select a payment method and set it as the default?

Doesn't let you log in on GrapheneOS, which suggests to me that RingGo aren't too concerned about security (since GrapheneOS is far more secure). Be wary.

there is simply no need for me have to give ANY personal information to create an account, i should be able to just enter the car reg and car park number and pay, this is exact how it works when calling. there can be no reason to gather more information via the app except to data mine. I will continue to just call the number

Genuine garbage. The app does not accept international phone numbers and offers no way to verify beyond a phone number. The phone service is equally garbage, it almost never will understand your reg number and then won't understand your vehicle make, kicking you back to trying the reg number again.

The absolute cheek of adding a "convenience fee" to use a service that is far from convenient and is also your only option for paying. They should just display the full cost you're going to be charged. It works fine for me, rating due to the INCONVENIENCE of not being able to pay on site and the extortion of added fees on top of already high prices. Update: appreciate you taking the time to respond even if you didn't address the main issue - what is the "convenience" you think you're providing?

This app applies fraudulent pricing. It charges a "convenience fee", which is illegal as per recent legislation (booking fees etc. must be part of headline fee, not tacked on at the end). It does not let you extend bookings; forces you to start a whole new session at full price without telling you up front. This means advertised parking charges are deceptive. It charges for SMS messages without making it clear up front that they are extra. The graphic above lies about their Trustpilot score.

Scam alert, adds 60p onto every payment for convenience and sms services it won't allow you to turn these off. So if you are parking somewhere say Bristol you can be paying nearly £15 for 4 hours parking because ring go add extra fees. Absolute scam. F you there is a reason I havent used your app until now and will go back to not using it. Carry change folks.

Useless app. Asks to set a password, with the usual upper case, lower case, digit, and special character, also lists a few non-allowed characters BUT then doesn't seem to allow lots of other characters either. Gave up trying to park and went somewhere else

In addition to the other reviews... The app is not logical for frequent and local (CPZ) residents either. There is no chronological date (date added, odd but of some use), alphabetical sorting possible within the 'known vehicles' registered section. There is also no search function or autocomplete option for regular visitors - and when we travel and the locale supports Ringgo, there is NO easy way of locating, favouriting or other YOUR car - to add parking for it quickly, you have to scroll!!

App has been super unreliable. Freezes, errors and occasionally forces a phone reboot. Doesn't recognise locations when you are standing in them, even if you search on the map. You'd think that locations would have been nailed down at least. Cannot trust it to exend parking as it also occasionally forgets that you have an active session. Pretty poor show. Interface is OK when it works.

As a US traveller that was able to retain my U.S. number via E-Sim I couldn't use it. You can only verify with UK number. Not even email.(Which is the dumb part) so I had to manually pay for parking anyways.

The App works really well and does come in extremely useful when parking in and around my local city. however I am currently on holiday down in the west country and so far have been unable to use the app because the only option here seems to be the full day parking charge costing well over £11 in most of the car parks. So for this reason I have had to pay by other means.

Arrived at the car park the payment machine was not working and advised paying via other means. They had a sign stating you could pay via RingGo app and a code stating what car park. I followed all instructions and when i tried to pay for the ticket my banking app gave a notification that said "The payment has failed because the merchant did not process the payment properly" So now im unable to pay and have to go to another car park! What is the point in having technology if it DOESN'T WORK?

The app overcharges compared to paying cash. I also noticed I had been charged for a reminder my parking was about to expire! Treat the app with caution. The receipt does not provide an accurate breakdown of price per hour if you extend your session. I feel I've been scammed but that this is in some way allowed.

Unable to use with GrapheneOS

Does not work. Constant repeating "An error has occurred" popups with no information or hints what the problem is. Unable to log in, reset password using number, reset password using email etc.

Useless doesnt work. Tried to pay dozens of time with several different cards. Never works and never gives a reason. Probably just a scam to make it harder to pay so they can fine you. And you charge more 4.10 on the app 4 at the machine. Charging more for the convenience of not working.

I had been fairly happy with RingGo, which has seemed one of the better-working parking apps. However I recently noticed that a short stay was charged more than the "show prices" page said it should. Contacted support who eventually mentioned a minimum charge at that location that's not listed anywhere in the app. Had a "goodwill" refund but they did not seem to understand or care that it's actually quite a big problem if the backend is charging more than "show prices" says it will.

i tried to use a US # and no go. the chat agent also said it can't use int'l #s. i tried calling the automated system that you can supposedly use when the app wont work but that didn't worked either, claiming i was withholding my cell #. lesson learned: get a local sim when in the UK.

I paid for 4 hours stay in Harbour Quay East, Southwold. When the 4 hours was almost up, I attempted to extend my stay by 2 hours but the app just kept on saying "selected time to short" (btw, it should be spelt "too", not "to". Learn to spell, app developers!). As any extension time selected came up with the same message, meaning I couldn't extend the time at all (much to the disappointment of my 6 year-old who would have loved more time on the beach), we had to leave the car park.

Can't set up an account with a foreign number which is so dumb considering it's positioned at many famous tourist traps like Ashton Court and the New Forest.

surely the point of an app for parking is so it can be flexible? add more time etc. but we tried to add an hour at a car park, plenty of signal etc. and just kept getting a 'failed' message when trying to pay for another hour, if this is due to restrictions (which I'm pretty sure it wasn't, the max stay at that car park was 16 hours, and I was trying to extend from 4 to 5 hours) it should say so before getting to payment, and the payment failing

App designed to catch people between renewals. Staying at the hotel for 5 days with a car park next to it. I have to remember every day to renew my car park. what better I have look at the phone waiting for the timer to expire because I can just go to the app and either buy 5 days or renew when I'm please. No, I have to wait until the time gets to zero. By this time I may as well go to sleep and get charged. Very convenient.

Impossible to register with a foreign mobile phone number. Text messages not arriving. Why even require signing up? Edit: I tried prefixing my number with 31, +31 and with 0031 as well, but none of them worked. When using the chat bot I did receive a text message to reply to with my license plate, so it wasn't a reception issue.

Parking apps need to be reliable and fast. This seems to be neither. And feedback seems to be dismissed with a "thanks" but no real acknowledgement of the issues raised. Actually found it quite a trashy app. Seems to fail often, especially when all you want to do is pay to park and go do what you went out to do. Fails to lookup by location, fails to lookup by their own 4-digit location codes, eventually works after several minutes of retry attempts, then fails at the payment step.

Users must be able to terminate a parking session before its scheduled end time and receive a refund for the unused portion of the parking fee.

Disgusting behaviour, every machine is broken or pretending to be out of order, forcing people to download this awful app. To maximise profiteering £9.70 for 3 hrs on public roads is theft and overreach, councils have seen £££ signs in what has already been rightfully paid for by the public. and is allowing third party people to legally extort the public... all money paid by us is bad money under duress at threat of loss... All involved in this ongoing scam should be ashamed of themselves...

Doesn't support foreign mobile numbers. What are tourists supposed to do??? There have been reviews for 18+ months saying this so your response "we are aware it doesn't support foreign numbers" is ridiculous. The problem is exactly the same for the website and using the telephone number firstly incurs a "convenience" [sic] fee and secondly incurs massive roaming charges. There is a very simple fix which is to allow email registration.

This app is one of the worst kind, you need it for a service that it refuses to do, registering is a nightmare. More like WrongGo.

Daylight robbery, you are charged a "convenience" fee each time you use it. I'd rather have the convenience of using cash or a card so I don’t have to pay extra for already extortionate parking.

The app hides extra charges. I've always assumed that this was a good way to pay for parking but I noticed this weekend that the app charged over the posted rate. When I went to "extend" my session from 2hrs to 24hrs it didn't extend the session it charged for a whole new session. I ended up paying double the posted rate for the 24hr session. I'll just pay at the meter from now on.

Just installed due to NCP administration. Car park tariffs same as advertised at the car park. Unfortunately don't tick for notifications as charged 20p for each and get ready to pay extra 20p for 'convenience' which you cannot switch off. What a rip-off!!! so based on the reply, you have to pay for using the app every time and to get reminders they're an extra cost every time you park. I will no longer be using the app.

Convenient and well designed, but incorporates extra charges for the smallest features e.g. a 10p charge for a parking confirmation SMS, or another 10p for a 10 minute reminder without making this explicitly obvious. Otherwise, a decent app for parking that eliminates the hassle and queues for machines.

just a scam masquerading as convenience. An absolute faff to have to keep doing this for parking and they charge you a "convenience fee" of 20p on top of the parking charge. and 10p for text reminders which you have to opt out of if you dont want it (which you have to hunt for in settings to turn off!) there was nothing easier than tapping a card on the meter or sticking a £1 coin in.

Can't verify my number as a Dutch person

As someone who uses this app for parking at work, you're lucky if half the time it works! The past few days especially it wont load properly and I have had to ring the number to sort the parking.

not opening, usually works but after updating not working any more

once again, I've missed the p&r bus because the ring go service is down and had to pay at the machine

easy to use and simple platform to follow. only download side, when you want to extend, you have to wait till your current session is up. my experience and many of my colleagues experiences have been once last session ends, the app simply does not work to extend. the extend icon disappears. Close app and reload and always error therefore have to run back to cappark to pay at machine manually. please sort this out. learnt to stay near carpark now before going off.

Awful experience. Cannot register in the app, some unknown error try again. Cannot register on the website, same thing. Call the number and its somehow busy constantly. Truly awful.

Absolute trash that's almost guaranteed not to be working when you actually need it. That's despite having a good enough connection to download the app again multiple times to try to cajole it into some form of functionality. Complete waste of time. Oh now we can't connect to the server because it's too busy. 5 minutes ago it was just "sorry an error has occurred". Joke of a company.

along with their website, the app will randomly decide it's "too busy" just as you're trying to pay so you can catch the train. they also have the added bonus of not answering their phones. a contactless payment machine, the kind you have at shopping centre car parks would be way more convenient than this trash.

The app kicked me out on Tuesday.. now I cannot log in, reset my password or open a new account. I have tried the AI chat which is useless. Whatever has been adjusted in this app it is now unusable for me.

tried 7 occasions through app + online even tried phoning and app keeps saying cannot connect to server because its busy. now who is to blame when a ticket should arrise?

absolute garbage. don't think I've ever stopped in a ringgo car park where the website has worked and now I've tried the app and that won't work either. why does this company exist
