unfortunately, when I connect my phone to a vehicle with android auto, my hallow app opens and starts playing the same episode of Bible in a year and no way to shut it down. It overrides other apps and features.

I like it but I don't use credit card and I have no way to use it at all, why can't we use it until we can pay for it because it seems unfair if we have it but can't use it? But other than that it's great but other than that, keep up the good work!

UPDATE: I received an email from Carissa 10/20/26 confirming my subscription was cancelled. I woke up to a declined charge this morning from 10/26/26. YOU GUYS ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE. DO BETTER. oh and also, they will tell you your subscription is through Google play, but i looked and even emailed Google and its not anywhere linked to my account. be very very wary. unable to cancel subscription, tried days ago and keep getting emails that it will charge my card. super predatory and very unnerving.

As with most other apps, Hallow "shares" your data with whomever they want. I've used & loved the Hallow app since Lent 2026 --- logging almost 10k minutes praying since then. But everyone should recognize that you're really paying for this app with your data privacy. Notably, Peter Thiel (co-founder of DATA BROKER company Palantir) is a major investor. Do not ever forget that.

the only things I'm missing are the following: - manage/edit family or friends members in the app for the family plan without the need to go into desktop mode or reach a computer. - create a playlist with: play all functions, add to x playlist. It can be in the favorite tabs: Favorites & Playlists. other than that love it!!!!!

So many areas of prayer, you can fit anything into your schedule. I listen and pray everyday on my way to work. No ads, no purchases (other than the yearly membership). Completely worth it.

its exclusively a catholic teachings app. Nothing against Chatholics, but it states Christian content too but there isn't any. And you have to pay to use the app at all. I dont believe in paying for every part of a religious app, the point is to bring people to Christ not to make profit off people trying to get closer to Christ. maybe charge for specialty settings but the whole thing?and it has celebrities reading to you that you can chose as the voice? super weird

The application help's me grow in virtue's attendance.

This has really helped me with my prayer life. You can set a routine for everyday with different prayers, challenges, and even stories about the saints. I can't speak more highly of this app as it's given me so much information in regards to my Catholic faith, and it continues to help me grow.

Update to review w/ downgrade in rating. A developer responded to my original review and asked I email them. Have done that, gone through the troubleshooting steps, and provided a screen recording. Done everything they've asked. Their response is to do it again ORIGINAL REVIEW Great content! Glitchy app! I listen to this app every day and I love the content. The challenge is that I have to clear out the cache and then restart everything almost daily, else the app doesn't work. it's annoying.

I have used this app for years now and everything about it is great. the content is second to none and the constant addition of new content makes this a great value to assist and improve your prayer life. highly recommend.

Good app to learn more about the faith. However, it's kind of buggy and I find about once in every two weeks they have the wrong readings posted for the day or some other weird issues with the daily readings. The other day they had the entire gospel reading in place of the alleluia, and then the entire gospel again right afterwards. Also, it's very glitchy when scrolling slowly. Sometimes the bar at the top goes haywire.

Wouldn't recommend to any Catholic or anyone opposed to AI. Pope Leo has made the official stance of AI and the Church pretty clear, so at this point any app that markets itself as being Catholic but still has some form of (frankly useless) AI integration is hypocritical.

you shouldn't have to pay for prayer

After using this app for 938 plus days, it just quit working. Absolutely no response to my ticket or any response at all. I still have 6 months left, probably won't see a partial refund and sure I won't get any help. Found new prayer app. It was nice for a long time but alas all good things come to an end. I lost all my favorites and my contacts that I prayed with. Very sad.

Hallow has helped me through a lot of difficult times. I use the app every single day, even on vacation. Until now :(. I recently went on a cruise. I paid for on board internet service so I would still be able to use the app as usual. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. It was the ONLY app that did not work while on the cruise ship. I was frantically trying to get it to work all day long the first day of the cruise. Once midnight came, it was over. My "streak" counter went to zero from 399.

You have to pay for this. I was going to sign up to learn the Rosary Prayer as I am not Catholic, oh well, too poor to afford this Temple Marketplace. I don't know the Rosary, cannot pray repeated vain repetitions or call a Priest Father, as per Scripture, but I certainly can call Mary blessed, so I would like to learn it.

Really disappointed. I was excited to try Hallow and do the 21-day challenge, but the “free trial” requires a valid debit or credit card that can be charged. I even tried a prepaid card and an expired card, and neither was accepted. Be aware that you must provide a working payment method before you can even access the trial. That doesn’t feel very “free” to me, and it was enough to make me walk away before I ever got started. I really wanted to love it.

I've never felt so close to God as much as I have now. What an absolute treasure to have this app! You can pray for 7 days free! Then you can pay £3.99 for 30 days of prayer! They'll also remind me 7 days before my trial ends. However, for £69.99, I can pray all year long?! Such blessings!

My two biggest issues are that if I pause something I'm listening to and come back (without closing the app or even the window), it restarts at the beginning; and that, even though I deleted all my routines, as soon as I start my car, it starts playing BIY, CIY, or Daily Reflection - all of which I love, but none of which I want to start playing before I'm ready.

Is there a problem with the games? It's not loading even though I already uninstall and reinstall the app. But for the prayers it's loading. I'm quite saddened because it's part of my routine the trivia, guess the word and category.

A wonderful way to get back into prayer whether or not you've ever prayed before, it really doesn't matter as the Hallows app is so inviting and welcomes us all with no pressure whatsoever. I'm a Catholic and have for so many years been disconnected from my faith, just one of those things! I've felt for a good while now a pull towards getting connected back into my faith and I'm so glad that I took this opportunity of doing just so. You'll soon develop a habit of praying, I definitely have! 🤍

I love this app. It teach you to surrender to God all of the problems. My favorite part of the app was the Saint's Alive, the story of Saint's I listen to it before I sleep. However I hope that the other features of the app would be free.

The app used to be great, but the longer it survives, the worse it gets. There's a lot of great speakers, but the app itself continues a downward spiral. They tried to grow too much too fast and left the patrons in the dust. Now let's talk about THE sin of GREED ... Shameful to charge near $80 for a subscription which content is spread free EVERYWHERE on the internet. I paid for it for the extra content bragged about, but it's just not worth it! HUGE disappointment! Shamful

Great commercials, false advertising. Not Catholic, just wanted the cool audio y'all had on the commercials that seemed way better than anything on Audible. After having to answer a super long survey, y'all presented me with actors and singers as though they were somehow important. The only important person is Jesus. Finally found the actual Bible, not your suggested reading and guess what? No audio. I say again: great commercials, false advertising.

Shame on these people for charging money for this! The app is free but you have to pay for the Bible to be read. I'm sure thats exactly what Jesus wants!!!

I have loved this app, but unfortunately Hallow doesn't really hold a standard for their presenters. I understand why Bishop Barron remains in spite of now being a more political force, but Matt Walsh is actively insulting people and being openly cruel on social media- and for some reason, all content shared among multiple presenters have defaulted to HIM. Hallow allows abusive people to maintain a platform with them and that's a problem.

I had the worst experience for being charged Php1,990 without notifying me first. I signed up for a free trial, afterwhich I was charged for a full annual payment with no notification. As much as I want to increase my prayer time, charging me for a full year is unreasonable. Much more that your telling your subscribers that if we choose to cancel, we won't be refunded! Can't unsubscribe. App and website kept on redirecting me to google play which doesn't have option to cancel. I thought it would be 1 yr subscription turns out it was yearly. Customer service is also unresponsive. It's been more than 24 hrs since I reported but none of the seems to care.

I use Hallow many times a day BUT the app is TERRIBLE, I JUST Uninstaller and plan to use the website access ONLY!!! Despite the "ignore the bluetooth" setting the app start RANDOMLY, during the business meetings, when I dive in heavy traffic and need voice commands to find exits from hwy..the app start playing loud and overpowers, say, Google maps directions...you cannot stop it without, stopping the car, finding the app, and trying to close it. Even if you close it..it starts on its own.

wanted to check out the meditation part of this app. Was turned off by the excessive and unnecessary questions about religion and 'god' when you first launch the app. might be ok for the religious type.

This is the absolute worst app. I paid 1,990 pesos for a year-long subscription without receiving a single notification; the payment just went through automatically via GCash. What baffles me is that I never provided my GCash number, yet both of my GCash numbers were linked there. I had intended to use that money for something else. You even use the Bible to pull off your scam—disgusting.

Great way to read the bible on the go when I can't pack my bible with me or just when you're out or in bed before going to sleep, absolutely love this app.

Hallow app is scam I got deducted from my e-wallet worth 1990 pesos,which I didn't use the app I just accidentally clicked because of the ads but I didn't subscribe to the app.I asked for a refund, but the AI agent was the one who answered my queries.I need an human agent to respond with me. I've been waiting for days for the hallow representative to respond but I got nothing from them.

Hallow is a manageable app that encourages and makes added prayer "on-the-go" , working out and driving, or to jumpstart the day before Mass a blessed plus!

DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY They hide the unsubscribe option from you. When you unsubscribe via Google I guess it's not real and they charge you anyways. You don't speak to a person, they use AI customer service. Terrible way to treat people and it's sad seeing this app become like the other greedy apps. I was unable to pay my phone bill because this app greedily took a subscription and then I had to wait ALL weekend+ to try and get it sorted.

It is by far the most used app I have and I love the content. I brought up a glitching issue over the spring, which was eventually fixed. it took some time to be sure, but they fixed it. I rely on this app daily to help bring structure to my prayer and reflection, and for me it's a blessing. You can connect with others as well. I'd like to see some family options for purchasing. Incidentally, I use Google rewards which virtually pays for the entire cost every year. Works for me.

Discouragement. I am extremely displeased with recent updates. Daily readings have been locked behind a pay wall, despite previously being free. Not only this, but it was also done haphazardly, with workarounds being present. This was clearly a hasty act in search of profit. I fail to understand why Bible readings have been locked behind a pay wall. Please revert this recent change and consider making general Bible readings free as well.

I've cancelled my subscription, which wasn't action by their system. I've contacted the company and they're refusing my refund. They don't care. about the financial strain on my family. Truly Christian behavior.... If you cancel your trial subscription ends, make sure to screen record you doing so or you might end up with almost £90 gone from your account Hallow's actions are disgrace!

I love Hallow! I've tried other Christian apps, but there's always been a disconnect that keeps me from really using them as a tool to help grow in my faith. As Hallow is an app focused on Catholicism, I can trust that the content is aligned with the Church's teachings. After finding Hallow, I know what I'm sticking with!

Prayer should be free. This app would have been amazing, if I could use it's resources for free. Asking for money to pray a rosary is wrong. I wish I could have used this app longer. I'm disappointed.

I don't give five stars that often, but this app definitely deserves it. I love the Bible in a Year & I do the rosary as much as I can, & this app definitely helps you focus & concentrate on it.

I'm going to give it five stars because I've heard great things about it. But what I will say is that there is no option for someone to select non-binary or trans as your gender. Regardless of what we believe, it's important that all feel included and that we don't try to push our limited understanding of reality on others. Because of this I can't and won't use it.
