Why has the traditional form of morning and evening prayer not been working for ages? This needs to be fixed

The app is wonderful when you're connected; but go on holiday or anywhere there's no signal and it fails to recognise your subscription

Excellent app. I love the audio when I can get it. This morning, Saturday 11 July, I could not get it at all. I haven't seen the audio feature on Compline yet. Very straightforward to use. Thank you. Particular thanks to those hardworking people who read and sing.

Overall a great app, but when listening to the audio it stops after 1 minute.

Such a helpful and beautifully produced resource, it has become an essential part of my daily life. So grateful to those who produce it.

A good app, with one quirk. At evening prayer on the eve of a major feast it uses the collect of the following day, but doesn't indicate this in the title of the service. So Aug 14 is billed as a Commemoration of Maximilian Kolbe but then has a collect for the Blessed Virgin Mary.

used to be good. ɓut then the audio ceased to work! reinstall used to cure but now nothing does! as I can't go to a church due to disabilities. I rely on this app instead! very disappointed!!

Beautiful and moving. This has greatly increased my consistency and joy in daily morning prayer.

I really want to love this app and I nearly do - the interface is simple, the audio quality is excellent, the voices are lovely. But the audio often just stops; toggling play/pause does not do anything, and the time slider is so tiny that you can't move it back and forth to get it going again without completely losing your place. Also, and this is probably me not knowing how liturgy works, but the written service doesn't always match up with the audio.

Desktop version fine but app stops working after 3 to 5 min on audio, will not restart at the same place, and slider controls for audio far too small. These are not new faults (see earlier reviews) and email addresses for support yield no reply. When I finally received a reply it was along the lines of we know, but no timescale as to when this will be fixed was mentioned or offered . Very disappointing for such a good idea.

I have been really enjoying this app, having the availability of an audio church service when needed. Each of the services, lasting around 20-30 mins each, offer scripture readings, prayers and beautiful music. Highly recommended if, like me, getting to a church service is difficult due to ill health. Thank you.

A slight problem with instability was fixed within hours. Thank you! I couldn't do without this app. I use it daily and I'm in Canada.

I've been using this app daily for at least 3 years. I absolutely love it. No preaching, just psalms, Old & New Testament readings, reciting, choral music and prayers. Full and meaningful.

Very useful but right now in Nov 2025 there are no dates in advance for 2026. It appears that after initial free access in the 2nd year you need a subscription via Hymnsam which then grants full access for the next year. It then works well..

This is my daily prayer app. While the search toggle is too small as others stated, the audio recordings are very well done. The singing/chanting is stunning. It'd be nice to have recorded Compline available also and the ability to download the sung pieces for further reflection but all in all a great way to add prayer to your daily life.

The services are great, but you are better off subscribing (for free) to them via a podcast app where you will have better controls. On this app, once you start scrolling through the text you lose access to the only sound control, which has no rewind or forward. From a podcast app (I use Pocket Casts) you can follow a link in the podcast's details to the C of E webpage where that day's text may be found and follow the prayers from there.

A very good app. Please could it be enabled for smart speaker? I would love to just be able to say "Alexa play Daily Prayer". That has now been done. Thank you.

I love this app and am grateful to be able to use it each day. The podcasts allow me to worship regularly each day in the midst of a busy life. Thank you for producing this app. Would definitely recommend.

I love this app. Following these prayer services at home is a great way to walk closer with God if you can't get to a church. I love the recordings. The only improvement i could suggest is to make sure the recordings are available for the local time of the user, sometimes they appear later, and to do recordings for the night time prayer.

I only recently discovered the playback option in the app. However, I'm disappointed with the facility, I am partially sighted and find that if there is the slightest issue, having to pause or a break in the playback (today partly through first reading) 29/03/24 still a problem, I tried twice, first time it stopped playing at 8 minutes and 5csevonds,middle of genesis reading. The 2nd time it stopped again at 7 minutes and 55 seconds restarts from the beginning each time! Please do something!

No option to audio play dor evening and night prayer. The morning audio prayer can sometimes stop playing

I'm also having a problem renewing my subscription. Every payment method I try is declined. Is there a problem? I would like to keep the subscription going, so would like this issue resolved.

Wonderful app. Removes all the navigation problems of the CW red daily prayer book. Linked podcast is also excellent in every way. Thoughtful intercessions. Gorgeous music. Thoroughly inspiring. Thankful for the whole team putting this together.

I have been using it for a few years now and I love the app - it really does keep me saying the offices daily and with the podcast one feels like you are with others.

The addition of audio is good. Katherine Williams has the perfect voice for this. And the singers are a good, although why must everything be sung at the tempo of a funeral dirge? Nevertheless, the whole thing is very professional. Would it be possible also to include audio for compline? Readings for the Eucharist would be good - as has been requested previously by myself and others, but there has been no response.

Having used this for a few years my subscription renewal of £1.49 has been declined by both my credit and debit cards on several attempts by alternative verification pathways. Is there something wrong with the system? I now add that you don't respond to emails. Relating to this issue continuing for about two weeks. I have therefore reduced to one *.

Beautifully recorded for personal reflection but I would prefer it to draw exclusively from prayers within the canon of Holy Scripture as these have already been given and authenticated by the Holy Spirit for our encouragement and use. The musical settings are always traditional and one wonders if contemporary musical settings might be possible to open this to wider usage?

I appreciate the experience of joining my prayers to all around the world. It would be better if the audio was made available for 12 hours earlier, to enable those of us in the "Islands at the end of the Earth" to be able to listen in a timezone appropriate time (ie (i.e. GMT+12 in NZ)

I am loving using this app every day. The fact that the offices are read out is so helpful in reminding us that we are all praying together and makes one feel part of the body. I would love the audio feature to be added to Compline too. I hope this will happen in the future.

It does exactly what it says that it's supposed to do, with the text for today on the screen and audio as well.

Such an easy way to join others in prayer when you are alone. The audio is so clear and atmospheric.

Well presented and the sound versions are very good for when one cannot sit down to read through the service.

Could use a little fixing up, but overall pretty good. I like that I don't have to be connected to the Internet to read. I rarely turn the Internet on on my tablet so I like that a lot. Something I dislike however (and maybe I'm missing a button here) is that a few times the audio has just stopped and I can't get back to where I was and when you're 15 minutes in thats not exactly ideal. I got around this by using the Web version which has fast-forward and rewind buttons.

Whether at home, out in the community or travelling, this is my priority app. Faith and Practice in one hand, easily lifted and held! When alone and if tired, it can help to click for the Audio at the beginning of each service: all done with compassionate dignity and some glorious and apposite music settings. Worth using, if only for the Readings or Psalms with their focused post-psalm prayers. Choices of formats, and responsive, gently, to current events. Thank you for being there. Invaluable.

Update is worse than previous version, once opened the menu disappears and you cant get it back you have to close and reopen to change anything. Audio stops occasionally too. Also still no audio for compline. This app used to be very reliable now will just delete it

2017: I love this app, allows me to engage with daily prayer wherever I am... Currently using it for 'prayer and breakfast' event. Recently paid the subscription for offline access. Worth every penny, but glad that it is free: so I can promote prayer among friends. 2022: Subscription has stopped working for offline and no support response. So still good, but no offline capability.

The app is well done generally. I do find the daily prayers to be a little repetitive; for example, we have now entered the Advent season but I couldn't tell it based on today's prayers. Thank you for the offering however, and for making it free.

An excellent piece of software which makes it very easy to say the Offices without having to switch books or find pages. Particularly useful when away from home.

Would be better if the audio controls floated to stay visible when scrolling down. Too much is sung.

Very good, so 5 stars. I play the audio and one niggle is that it sometimes stops, not sure why. Two things I'd like to see: 1. Audio for compline. 2. The text autoscrolling in synchronisation with the words. However I am very grateful for what's been done with the app so far, I have a real sense of peace when I use it, priceless :)

This is a wonderful App. But there appears to be a problem today, the audio option has disappeared. Is there just a glitch today? And agree with other reviewers, could audio be added for Compline?

Fine, except that the refrain after the psalm(s) and the refrain before and after the Benedictus is different from the paper Prayer Book

Update 09/09/22: you have updated the Offices but not the State Prayers! This is an excellent app. I would ask if the BCP lectionary could be an option please, and also an option to have the daily psalms on Sunday instead of the CW lectionary ones.

Very good! Love it. I use it every day!! One little glitch in that when you try to read an alternative reading to get back to the prayer liturgy you have to exit the app.

This is the app I use for daily prayer. It's solid and reliable, even without subscribing. (The sole subscription feature is storing the liturgy offline, which is useful but not essential). My one nitpick is that the audio controls are tiny and far too sensitive; if you accidentally stop the playback it's hard to get it to start again from the same place. You can get the same audio on Spotify or whatever as a podcast, so I avoid using the in-app audio controls entirely.

A wonderful resource. The listen along feature is fantastic; it is helping me sustain my faith. Possible improvement would be to keep the Play/Pause option visible without have to scroll to the top. Grateful if you could include audio for Night Prayer as well (Compline).

This is helping me too read the office more frequently! I am now using the audio feature regularly. The standard of leading, reading and singing are all outstanding. Who are these wonderful people?!

Really really love using this, especially since recordings started to be made, which I can listen to even on the go. Beautiful singing (St Martin's Voices I think), and wonderful to hear the Word read aloud in readings and psalms, as well as joining in with prayers and intercessions.

Would be great if it supported landscape mode. I can't keep my Galaxy tab propped up using its case, and it's hard to hold for that long.

Provides a complete service including the correct readings of the day from the lectionary, perfect. I use it alongside a Zoom with a small group of Anlicans in France.

Since the up grade it no longer works off line the provider could not help or even understand the problem I was given my money back.

I love the app (4 stars)! 5 suggestions for th: 1. Provide a search function. 2. Provide a recording for the compline. 3. Provide a recording for traditional rite. 4. Make the audio player a header that remains in place as the user scrolls down the page while reading. This way, if the user is interrupted he can pause without losing his place on the reading. 5. Allow the content to rotate to landscape when the mobile rotates.

While I enjoy this app very much, the player controls are much too small. The forward/reverse is literally a dot that is hard to control. That said, the morning and evening prayers are great to listen to. Please consider adding the compline to the audible section.

I was so thrilled to see the inclusion of the audio section...but it always stop several times...tried reinstalling, but sadly, with no joy..

A nice little app, and really like the audio option, except it's quite unreliable. I like to walk and pray, but an interruption in phone signal seems to stop the audio, and media bar disappears, meaning you have to close, reopen the app then try and guess how long it has been running, would be great if this could be fixed

Not working properly. Says I only have basic free subscription but then when I try to subscribe to twelve month sub it tells me that I'm already paying for it. I do appear to be paying so please look into this for me.

Am missing the audio option on Morning and Evening Prayer, introduced a few weeks ago. It stopped this weekend. Would really like that to return. Perhaps also for Night Prayer? Much appreciated, especially when portions are sung.

The app is great and the addition of audio is brilliant. Just a couple of tweaks that would make it better: 1) an audio for night prayer 2) those leading the audio to indicate when they are using prayers different to those in the app or if they are skipping bits so that it is easier to follow.

Very useful app, but stops working every few months and then randomly might work again after a few weeks if I am lucky. Don't know why.

Easy to follow experience - great for beginners of the Christian faith. Will lead to more questions about some of the text as some are from the old testament.

Good as ever, new audio nice would be 5 stars if had audio for traditional as well as contemporary. I much prefer the traditional as it is what I grew up with, I find the language richer.

Excellent! For anyone who is unable to attend Mass, this is a wonderful way to still feel connected with the Body of the Church. The audio is just lovely and enriches the app enormously. Three beautiful havens of rest throughout the day to bring you His peace.

The new audio is truly amazing. A real game changer as you can engage with daily prayer much more than when you only had the reading option.

This is so great for resting in the Daily Office! I love that it gives me everything without having to mark and flip pages (which is distracting) and it also gives me the option of more traditional or contemporary. It's a wonderful option for anyone wanting to engage in the Daily Offices, whether it's old hat or a new discipline. I also appreciate that it covers the whole screen so you don't see the time and notifications.

Use only lasts a few days & then does not work --- it is not working today -- I have to uninstall & reinstall several times !!! I have now given in & will not bother with it !!! I will try it everyday but if it's not working hard luck

Would be marvellous if the services could be made compatible with the android accessibility read aloud functions like Select to Speak, or other similar apps. Even better if this could be built into the app.

I absolutely love this. I find it more comprehensive than the next nearest prayer app. I also enjoy the flexibility within each prayer session and onward links ie to the cycle of prayer. To get 5 stars, i would love for this to be smart speaker enabled which is really the only reason I ever use the other player app.

On my phone, this app is absolutely brilliant. On laptop if I try to enlarge the font size it becomes illegible. Thus I cannot use it and I don't have any sight issues generally! It is terribly small

Works perfectly and brings pleasing discoveries each day. It took a while to find the menu from which one can change to the older forms of words. A great app!

A super app. So helpful to have the day's readings, psalm and collect with no page turning. It makes the set morning prayer so much more accessible. We use it at midweek services with 2 spare tablets for guests.

A much easier app to use than the Episcopal ECP because it resumes your place after clicking on a hyperlink to, say, the seasonal intercessions. A much better translation of the psalms than the Australian prayer book one and pleasing layout. And it opens to the office of the hour. Only lack is a noon office.

This is the most important app in my phone after the Bible, thanks for your efforts. I'm only missing the midday prayer. I pray that the Lord may continue blessing your work and ministry. Thanks again 👍

Terrific app! So easy to use and saves having to have books and bible to hand.

Great, simple little app - perfect for the purpose. Only one complaint: 'contemporary' is misspelled in the menu as 'comtemporary'! Would it be possible also to include an option in a future release to be able to 'turn pages' of the prayer services rather than scroll, e.g. tap the right side of the screen to 'turn a page' to advance through the service, as one can do on a Kindle or other e-reader? Scrolling is a little bit distracting sometimes.

Great app but could it please include midday prayer (Prayer During the Day). It's available on the C of E website and would be great to have it in this app.

Great app, but doesn't work well on Galaxy S10 with latest Samsung-released build of Android. Once the UI disappears for a full-screen view of the prayer, there's no way to restore the UI controls.

Glad to see problem with canticle font size fixed. Now please could you fix the font size for Bible readings in the traditional language offices? I first requested this TWO YEARS ago. UPDATE: despite your response, readings are still in a smaller font size in trad language MP and EP. Really quite annoying! EDIT: thanks for your response - but problem still not fixed.

I use the app daily both on Android and Apple. My only complaint is the app's need to deviate from the proper BCP Psalm cycle on Sundays and festival. I just want the Psalms on the appointed day over 30 days.

This app is very useful for me when organising readings for BCP Evensong at our local church.
