has an ai software that constantly checks messages, recording calls, files, anything you can think of, even camera?! not to mention mistaken notification about things that were misinterpreted by the ai. I'm 17 now. where is the privacy here?! it isn't your childs fault your miserable and can't properly parent and set boundaries.

Hello guys I was wondering why RCS isn't a think yet. I'm so tired of the tiny blurry videos I receive and the crazy size limit. I'd like the details of the RCS situation. And when it auto light/dark the messages app doesn't automatically change between dark and light mode with the rest of the phone which is super annoying and clearly an easy fix so 🙏 🙏 🙏 fix it. And I'd also like to know the exact size limit and some strategies to get things to go through. on an official bark pro phone. 😒🙄

Setting up Bark turned out to be far more tedious than expected. I have 3 different devices operating on 3 different platforms, and getting each one configured felt like an endless obstacle course. Each OS has completely different permissions, requirements, and steps, making the initial onboarding process frustrating and time-consuming. ​Once it's running, the monitoring features are decent, but the setup process desperately needs to be streamlined for multi-device households.

the monitoring keeps going out for some reason. I haven't changed any settings and if my child changed settings, I don't know which ones. they shouldn't be able to change settings on a monitored phone in the first place.

awful app, im the kid who has it (17 years old btw) and I feel like it is an invasion of privacy, I get flagged for EVERYTHING,the screen time limits are stupid, my phone shuts off at 9pm and doesn't turn on until 12pm the next day, dont waste your money

The app constantly will not load and does not provide accurate locations for our two boys. Will show our 9 year old 2 miles away when hes asleep in his bed.

Apps that I will approve dont always work. the Google meet to video chat cant be used now. I just personally dont like it.

last month we went out of the country.I paused the subscription, the moment that I unpaused it this month. I got double charged, and they said that it doesn't matter. Whether or not the phone had service , they still charged for the months. So even though we didn't have service last month(their phone), we got double charged this month to make up for it. Since I can't remove my card i asked my credit card company what my options were. The lady blocked them for me. And we switched to att.

this app does not work with accounts that are managed by Google family link if that's important to you. do not use this. it is a 100% broken experience.

Not easy to navigate. Plus setting up a new bark phone is cumbersome the link you send to the new phone does not work. Need to return it if they don't help

I love its idea but its so annoying how it disconnects front my kids devices and I have to constantly reconnect them iphone or android it dont matter needs a lot of work I did everything it just always wants me to always reconnect the device its annoying.

We've had it for almost a year but lately it's been nothing but problems! Location tracking almost never works anymore. Tons of spam calls. One day it failed to switch to the school schedule so my son's phone started ringing in class! And it was a spam call! I've wasted hours trying to fix issues with the phone. I upgraded service so we could add some games & school apps on his phone but I'm about to cancel it altogether and stop recommending it to others.

NO STARS DONT PUT YOUR CHILD THROUGH THIS. Because they will be unsafe! bark is a scam! my childs starter phone was hacked inside of a month of her having it. Bark support manager confirmed it was another device like what police use and they refuse to do anything about it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BARK PHONE IT IS A FRAUD AND SCAM AND TOTALLY AI CONTROLLED BECAUSE EVERY ANSWER IS VERBATIM AND NEVER ANSWERS ANY LOGICAL QUESTION. Even a telephone call to support is talking to AI pretending to be human.

I get flagged for EVERYTHING. I can't even talk to any of my closest friends without getting flagged for saying something. like telling ur best friend to do smth is NOT bullying! this app is just a nightmare. and having that dumb notification thing on ur lock screen is just annoying, and you can even see my wallpaper all the way. and I should not have to get a code TO CHANGE MY SETTINGS. I FEEL LIKE I WILL GET FLAGGED FOR EVERYTHING. autocorrect? FLAGGED. FIX THIS.

This app is horrible. My son had to leave early for something and he needed to contact his coach so I turned off the screentime and it never worked. The location has also never worked. I feel like im stalking my son with all of the random ai warning I get that aren't even bad. My son has had problems with his phone on his own, like apps dissappear and screentime never turning off at all during the day. The parental app itself is very confusing as well and not user friendly at all.

Since update to parent app on android, the bar needed for navigating home, menu, etc isn't there. Very frustrating to have to go to a browser to actually use my bark for my kids device.

never get this i am a teen w this app and bark says I told one of my friends to do something bad. IT WAS 3 AM WHEN IT GOT FLAGGED! Not even my phone is available then so I guess the spyware installed in this hates me. It took forever to set up drains my battery to the point im at 50 by noon and didnt functions. yes, i am the kid but i dont mind parental controls as ling as they work. apps that werent blocked wouldn't work. all my messages were "flagged" even though we werent saying anything. i was the one responsible for setting up the app and figuring out how ot works and i read every article bark has and simply cannot understand despite being an honors student

POINTLESS!! Waste of time, money and energy! I spent hours trying to keep the app functioning. The goal with getting the app was ensure my teen wasn't getting in trouble and to cut down the fighting for suspicious behavior to having this app cause more stress and fighting because the app never worked properly. Even cancelling the subscription was a job in of itself. Save yourself the headache and don't get this app.

This sucks. im one of the child victims and the app is awful. when mom tries to approve an app it takes like a day to actually be playable. i was texting her once and she said "cali my stomach hurts" or something and it gave her a flag for medical issues. it constantly flags me for chatting with my friends. it doesn't monitor apps and has even flagged me for chatting about self harm when I didn't say anything I was literally just text T-T also it's very restrictive

highly recommend this for kids. it gives me the ability to communicate with my 7 year old son who has ADHD and has pretty awesome larvae controls and location tracking.

Tried to set up an account. Kept running into an issue at the subscription page so I gave up. I can't unsubscribe from their emails without an account, I can't access support without an account. I can't access my account without a subscription, I CAN'T SELECT A SUBSCRIPTION. Terrible design.

i am SO happy i dont have parental controls especially bark. My friend has a bark phone and i managed to get on to his parents account and oh my god. 30 alerts claiming my friend who is asexual is watching porn. He is asexual he has no sexual feelings towards anything. this app is a scam

garbage. Needed to repeatedly update the app on the child's device as it loses connection. Doesn't provide enough access or information and was to expensive for what it provided. straw that broke was that you couldnt unblock setting blocks. My daughter is in marching band and with the "band" app turning off mobile data is necessary. you can not do this with the bark app on the phone so it had to be removed without refund. Canceling requires confirming 5? times so pay attention! 0/10 don't do it!

Great concept, poor delivery. The app is cumbersome to navigate, location almost never works, notifications sometimes come days later, and it has overall been more of a headache than a help. For the amount of time I have spent reaching out to customer service, I could have just went through my kids phone to see what conversations, pictures, apps, etc are happening with a lot less frustration and a lot more clarity.

This app is useless. Accompanying child's app constantly has to be reinstallef in order to function. it works less than a week and then crashes until reinstalled. the schedule never worked properly. used phone battery to a point that charge would not last full day (charge was improved with the app uninstalled). there was no ability to mute alerts of certain type that flagged harmless activity. constantly misclassified activity. Refused refund after support strung me along past 6 months. shady.

Thought it would be worth the money, but it's not. It doesn't track the location . It's difficult to set up. Then worst of all is the majority of the things they market that they do to protect your child on their device they don't do. Highly disappointed I have wasted my money on this app for the past few months and really don't have anything positive to say about it. Disappointed to say the least. I fell more confident just checking her phone myself then trusting this app ro assist me.

Very difficult to set up and use. I have to reset it almost every time I use it. Doesn't block apps or stop her from using her phone when the time is up. Also, it says $14 a month, but has been charging $20 a month and doesn't even work. Cancelling subscription. Very disappointed; I had high hopes for this app.

This will-intentioned app is not all it promised. Apple security policy prevents it from being truly effective. I get constant ads to purchase an additional device that must connect to the phone to get the full insight into my childs phone. The forced VPN interferes with location access, texting, and Wi-Fi. My son constantly complains about how his phone is slow and how he can't text with me or my wife. For $99, I would expect a much smoother and streamlined experience.

Bark has been nothing but nonfunctioning smoke and mirrors. Promised lots of things I wanted and ended up just using the android family link to do everything I was paying $100 a year for bark to do. The schedule feature does not work. Set a cutoff time and behold, still full access. Want to approve / deny apps, only get a short list of apps to specify, outside of that, all allowed. Have to sideload the apk weekly? Really? AND it's flagged as a safety risk? Avoid and save your money!

The app is very cool. something i really needed for my 11 year old child, has so many restrictions and the location thing is pretty cool, although a had i couple problems, when my free trial ended it said that there was an error and that I had to apply the payment again. and when I tried it said my card was not valid but it wasn't expired yet and it was a credit card that was weird

I wish I could give this zero stars. Our experience started off great and went down hill after 2 days of using the watch and app. The gps is constantly off base of where my kid is, which was the main point of getting a watch. Also the quality of the calls is always spotty. Day 2 of having her own watch and number my child was receiving spam messages from contacts other than her approved list. We will be using another company from now on.

overall Bark aupport is horrendous. the support staff all have a very thick accent that makes them difficult to understand. when you ask them to slow down and enunciate, they get ioenly frustrated. asked to speak to aomeone with a better grasp of the english language and was "transferred" but was actually hing up on by Duvan. not confidence building since I just went all on on purchasing the app and associated home box for our family. Dont know how they get such good ratings.

let me explain why bark is The. Worst. my mother gets flagged for me sending a songs on spotify that i never ever sent. it said there was an alert for sexual content and it sent screenshots of 'messages i sent' and while i had never seen these, it was saying it was from me. we decided it was a spotify issue and switched over to apple music. however, after we deleted spotify, she starts getting flagged for messages on other apps. dont use bark. its a total scam.

Was ok in the beginning but has become a nightmare to deal with now. Ai doesn't do what it says it did. Can't allow permissions as a parent. Permissions will just dissappear randomly. Customer service is very time consuming. I should be able to change setting on her device directly in the settings with a device code rather than have it locked up by your system that does not work. And the worst of all is when you get 3 false alerts within a few hours of my daughter searching up something horrible

don't upgrade to the Samsung 8 watches. they don’t track or update on the map or the home screen of the Bark app at all for locations. they don’t send out alarts either. my children have been home for 3 days and still shows them visit their grandma house from the Saturday. because the app didn't update the location my son got lost in her neighborhood. we couldn't find his live ping on the map it took us 1 hour to locate him. thank alot for send out watches that don't update on the parents app.

I couldn't get the app to install on 1 of 2 child devices. support wasn't helpful. had to cancel trial. After getting it installed I still think this is a 2 star software. Setup is frustrating. Controls are difficult to understand. Monitoring is inefficient. I set bedtime schedule to all off and the device is still usable - even after setting downtime on at a cellular level. Unfortunately, I paid for the annual, but I can't use this as-is. Subscription canceled.

Quite difficult to get setup and requires side-loading the application in developer mode (as opposed to directly through Google Play). After finally getting it up and running, it spontaneously stopped working and was never able to re-enable any functionality or alerts. The apps were running on Pixel 10 Pros and up-to-date Android. This has been more of a headache than benefit.

The app has gotten worse over time. It's difficult to navigate and many of the features that I used to be able to access easily seem to no longer be available. I am a fan of the protection the phone provides, but am very disappointed in the parent end of things. Using it for even the most basic things has become extremely frustrating.

Bark doesn't work. I followed all the instructions correctly, it kind of worked for a short time but as soon as an update happens, Bark stops working. My kids still had full access to everything when they're supposed to be in "down time". Doesn't let me limit or restrict app usage. It's also way over sensitive on alerts (there are some that have different levels of sensitively but its not enough). EDIT: I tried supports suggestions before and they helped until the next update.

After only 1 YEAR it glitched the sleeping timer put onto the phone and we couldn't access anything besides messages. It said the phone was in sleeping mode but the sleeping mode doesn't turn on until 10:00pm. Hopefully bark comments to tell us what to do when this happens.

it's been 3 years. I've had only one problem once they switched over the parent app and my device protection got canceled and of course after it was cancelled we needed a replacement. I was able to talk to the customer service representative and get a new phone sent and back to the protection being on. the location is mostly accurate, sometimes it'll say he left somewhere but he's at home so I recalibrate it. I've been able to change the notifications for alerts and it's been a life saver!!

What a pain! With Google and Samsung there are so many backdoor settings needed it doesn't seem worth it. when the child's Bark app needed to be updated I lost all protections and had to start the process all over. Got to be something better. I love how their AI help always points to the easier solution being to just buy their phone.

hard to use have trouble connecting devices worst app ever

I have been having issues with location function not working for months. I rcently downloaded the updated version on my child's phone. location is finally working but now no text messages go through on his phone. I went through all the settings and make sure they were set up as instructed on the website and it did not do anything. it only started working after I uninstalled the bark app from his phone. reinstalled bark and texts stopped again.

Horrible. It constantly requires updates. After a recent update my son's phone flagged Bark as unsafe and the app was deleted. i've spent days trying to reset the app. After I finally get it working, the next day the app reverts itself to the checklist. I can't get passed location settings even though I've done everything Bark customer service told me to do. I've even followed Google instructions & everything is set properly on both phones. Nothing works. I'm paying premium for nothing!

Parents, before installing this app, see the perspective of a person who had it when they were 9 - 11 this app is invading a child's privacy. I'm happy I don't have it anymore, but you need to know that this app can ruin a child's mental health. There is a thin line between caring for your child and invading their privacy. Would YOU like everything you do being tracked?? A perntal control app should just be being able to see your kid's screen time and apps nothing more

as a teen with the app I can tell you its one of the WORST experiences I and my family have had. not only is the user interface and systems suck for the parents and the kids its installing Spyware onto your kids personal device which they use for things im shure they want to keep personal. They delivered the home device to a different address & REFUSED to refund my money & tried to force me to return item I have never received! Bark constantly sends bogus alerts & doesn't properly track info. They are horrible, look at how many parents say the same thing! I already spoke to Amy F in senior billing, Fin,Bladimir, & Franco all failed to resolve the issue. So don't lie & say billing will fix it, I have 11 emails proof!

Am I logged in as my child or the parent? When I fill out a weekly questionnaire, my request is recorded as the child. Also, the menu disappeared so I can no longer contact help or support. We're looking to switch from Bark to a more reliable service.

Customer service is a group of people who interject on issues they were not involved with and then misrepresent what has been said previously to cause more problems. There have been more than one false alerts generated, tracking issues, including no tracking, and the company admits that it can't stop texts coming through from unapproved numbers. There is no need for me to contact you Bark as this is all from all of the times I have already contacted you.

bought a bark watch and had trouble with it from the beginning. I tried contacting customer service through the chat, as no number was available to call, and waited for about 30 minutes before a human chat representative came on the line. spent atleast 45 more minutes before canceling/returning my bark watch that had a lot of trouble getting reception. Even when it had reception outside,it was emergency calls only. it only worked in one corner of my house. canceled in less than 6 hours.

anxiety. my problem with this app is my parents put it in here to monitor me but none of my brothers have it just me. and I haven't done anything bad I am young and I keep getting told my curiosity is bad I don't talk to my parents and I have stopped talking to them they want to know how j feel but with this all they know everything about me and it's scary. I advise if you wanna keep your relationship with your child don't use bark.

i am a 13 year old kid and i hate this app it links everything i was fine with it until it linked my google play account with my moms and i couldnt change it to mine i cant sign into my account on anything i have failed school work because i couldnt sign into my gmail account for info and you cant share photos to a group chat their are much better options for perental controls or just have trust in your child this app is for psyco parents and will make your kid hate you.

I like that I can monitor their phone, approve contacts, set limits on the app, approve apps, track but its not user friendly. its a struggle to navigate. and I've been getting notifications that their Spotify, email or some other app is no longer connected and cant be monitored. To connect, a browser should open. But I disabled the browser on the child's phone. Reconnecting is difficult. Edited to add: the child and phone are home but i got notified they are someplace else.

Much worse on the new Samsung watch model. No location alerts and no activity history! That's ridiculous! Those were some of the most useful features.

DO NOT GET THIS FOR YOUR KIDS. I am a child of bark, and it has caused me more stress than anything. It ruined friendships and did not "protect" me whatsoever. But it did break my phone. I have gone through two phones now because it runs so much that it explodes the battery of the phone. Do not spend your money on it. Most modern phones will also detect it as a virus because it is basically one. it barely works half the time anyway. just talk with your kids and get a different app.

One star because I'm just trying to find my account and billing and even a.i. says it should be right there in the app but it's not. It's not user friendly, it's confusing and yet basic. The issue is that there are no options for account, no hamburger, nothing. It even removes the browser controls to open in browser. I had to use my laptop and in the customer service chat I wait hours and the message is never even looked at. That does not bode well.

one way ticket to a nursing home! I am 21 but my mother made me and my younger brother use this a few years back (I was 15/16 he was 12/13) and lemme just tell you that if you force your teens to use this you will RUIN whatever trust they have with you. I know this from my own experience.. yes, kids make dumb decisions sometimes but that's how they learn.

No notifications coming through to email or phone. GPS isn't as live as I'd like. Cant get past the AI bot to troubleshoot even through we've tried everything. Message me Bark, I need results here.

from a child who's parents uses this app for them. I am constantly feeling watched with everything I do, I can't have a normal conversion without feeling the need to delete and reword every single thing I say. I feel as if typing even this is going to be flagged. Another thing, it disconnects sometimes and when my parents reconnect it, it shuts down all my apps and I can't use anything for 1-4 days. Even things that aren't harmful get flagged and even my parents admit that.

this is a passion in the butt to start. I have had this phone for a week now and my son does not even want it. I have been shouting with it at how frustrating it is to set it up. a simple email is all it needs and I can't even get it to take one.

Designed for frustration. This feels like you never asked users for any feedback when designing this. It is unclear how to navigate to commonly used features as they are hidden within several clicks. Setting permissions is an absolute nightmare with that taking even more clicks and it always being unclear what is set and for how long. If I didn't already have the phone I'd get rid of this in a heartbeat as it makes me angry every time I have to use it

would love to be able to say this app works, but it doesn't. Its aggressively hard to set up, and even then it doesn't work. apparently it has a bug, i don't know how to fix it but I keep getting notifications saying "Bark shut down because it has a bug, install an update to fix it" but there's no update so I can't fix it.

Edit: dropping my rating another star. what am I even paying for at this point? We have to troubleshoot the connection to bark on my daughter's phone at least twice a week. It keeps saying she needs to update the app in my app, but hers shows it's the latest version. If you are going to charge so much for a service, it should WORK. Bark is great, when it works (which is less often than when it doesn't). it is constantly losing connection to my kids' phones, which totally defeats the purpose.

The technical issues make this app difficult to use. The parent app tells you to fix a problem on your child's app but even after you do, the issue isn't resolved. It said I needed to update the kids app so I did, but the alert for it would not go away and it was not properly monitoring my child's phone because of it. The process to download the app initially and then to update when needed is also way more difficult than it needs to be. I hope they make some major improvements to the app.

its good with a tiny flaw that's recently started. I love using this app and its super helpful. recently though, its started sending me notifications every 30 minutes to an hour saying that my kid has left our house and then arrived again at random times. the catch is, shes either right there in her room drawing, standing right next to me, or sleeping. girl hasn't escaped, I can clearly see her lol. other than that, the app works great. its a little hard to navigate, but its not unbearable.

good luck trying to use the phone with any other provider. I was able to cancel service, but now there is no way to unlock the phone and switch to another provider. I was sitting in a chat for 30 plus minutes just to be told someone else will have to reach out to assist. This exact thing has happened to me twice over a several days span and no resolution. I now own a device that is completely useless unless I reactive Bark and pay over $40 a month for service.

sort works, but no customer support. A bit weird to set up, not compatible with Google link family really. as long as you have no issues it is decent, but when you need customer support takes days to weeks to solve a problem, they don't call back, chats go silent for hours then they end it. this is for kids so you get it and then your kid is without phone for days because bark doesn't respond. do not recommend

The reports I'm getting alerts for are times when my child has not been on a device. Very confusing!! I can't question my child about what sites they have been on if the information isn't accurate.

You can only try it for seven days for free but make sure you show us how to make you pay for it immediately. my child's safety is VERY important but 7 days really shows nothing and then its Uber expensive after that. enjoy... im deleting

very glitchy, this app does not give real-time location, it's also very glitchy and will say that my son location will be in multiple places when he's actually sitting next to me. unreliable and untrustworthy, do not recommend. less expensive just put them on your family plan.

Update: I spoke with cusromer support. One agent flat out lied to me. The promised replacements have not been issued. There is no answer as to how long it will take to send replacements for the faulty watches I was sent. I have yet to receive an explanation as to how this happened. The app is glitchy and slow. It is not easy to navigate. Its pages are cluttered and unorganized. I would not feel comfortable trusting my kids safety with this service after my experience.

It works but only ok. but it takes a ton of time constantly doing manually updates on every device. I would set aside an hour a week to deal with bark issues, if your child has more than one device or you have more than one child.

for the love can you please give us more control/options of notifications. I do not need a notification from the app immediately followed by a text for the same alert every. danger. time! Let us pick how or which one we want. And PLEASE either make "the moment" thing smaller or make it optional bc we don't want to participate and it's in the way and I don't want the reminder to do it! I literally just want to monitor my kids stuff.

Spotty monitoring, easily disrupted on Android phone. The app is constantly requesting an update, multiple times a week. I'm not confident it's monitoring as well as expected. Additional issues on iPad, unable to connect to monitor device following instructions.

Bark was useless for my needs. It constantly required updates on my child's phone or it wouldn't work reliably. The phone was powered off for nearly a month, yet Bark still sent activity alerts, making me question its accuracy. Setup took forever, the required VPN caused phone issues, and alerts were either excessive or nonexistent. Worst of all, it failed to monitor the activity I actually needed it to.

The app was a bit of a hassle to set up, but I could have dealt with that had the app done what it was supposed to do. My son was able to delete the app from his phone, which allowed him to access all of the content we had set out to block.

Excecuted very poorly. The app flags absolutely everything; youtube videos what say "damn" once or have "lmao" in a hashtag, and even texts with absoluely nothing explicit. "What's up with you?" was flagged for bullying. The app has to be updated almost daily in order for it to work. The location feature doesn't work at all; says your child is all the way across town at 3am when they're asleep in bed. Overall, just gives your child zero privacy and is a constant annoyance for parents.

Changes to schedule settings are never pushed to the Bark phone correctly. Location is often off by a 1/4 mile. Getting Amazon Music to work took weeks of effort and troubleshooting to identify a million random sites that had to be individually approved to make it connect - this is a must-have app, people. Critical alerts often arrive HOURS after the activity takes place. This is a company that does not take their product seriously.

I hate it with a passion id enjoy talking about how I feel and my mh health without my parents constantly getting a notification about it it gets to a point tbh it's annoying I dont feel like I have enough privacy if I wanted to talk to them I would but I personally won't feel comfortable talking abt my mh in front of my parents or in front if therapists if you have this app as a minor im so sorry I have it too if you couldn't tell and I hate this app..

It caused my child's phone to malfunction. wouldn't let her use any apps and had to be Uninstalled to get the phone to work again. AND after I went through their app to speak to someone to have the subscription canceled Google play reinstated the subscription, charged my card, and has refused to refund my money.

We've used the app for years, and have been happy with it. In fact, we just bought a Bark phone for our daughter. However the parent app is no longer user-friendly. I used to be able to navigate to the controls I want very easily and now I can't even find the parent code. please go back to a less flashy, but easier to navigate version.

On the child's device, the app consistently prevented Gmail to sync. Also randomly prevented all text messages from being delivered. The notifications did not have enough customization - it was all or nothing. I turned them on and was flooded with useless notification and most times 10 alerts per incident. Poor user interface. Very difficult to setup and get anything useful from the app. Did not monitor several apps correctly. Was not effective at all, but might be better than nothing?

kid w/ bark, I hate this app so much. I feel that it's an invasion of privacy. I genuinely don't why this app allows my parents to see my texts. My dad can open the app and browse through my texts. it's so annoying. it doesn't make anything better or easier for me. there's nothing else that upsets me than knowing that im CONSTANTLY being watched. Like, maybe I don't want my parents to know EVERY SINGLE THING I talk about in MY conversations with MY friends. I cant say anything without worrying.

Just ok. I have a bark phone for my daughter. The alerts need A LOT of work. The AI functions on the alerts are reading messages from years ago and alerting me with the current date as if they are recent. There's no way to tell if I have a real concern or not unless I read 3 years worth of messages. It also fails while sending pictures saying the file size is too big. 25mb is allowed but won't send 3kb. The phone has to be rebooted constantly to send pictures. The map will show but not follow.

i am a kid who has it on my phone and earlier i was looking at a bagged snack on google called 'pirates booty' and it flagged it as sexual content so bark if you even read these please lower the sensitivity because that i feel is a little too sensitive of a flagging system but tbh it does protect me from sites i shall not name so in other words it is okay just work on the sensitivity.

pretty good but the over the top restrictions make it feel like i just got to borrow a phone with every restriction under the sun, all i will say, is that it sucks, dont get this, it will restrict things that even the parent can't change, and its utter garbage, dont get.

7-17-26 - Still receiving warnings - garbage,SMH 3-19-26 - After our kids got new phones, we decided to stop using this app and did not install on our kids new phones (this app is terrible). We purchased those phones over a month ago and Bark is STILL warning us, even when the app isn't installed - this app is far too aggressive, way too many false positives, and can't even figure out when it is installed or not. Save your money, use nextdns dot io for free and just block social media outright.

So i feel invaded, I can't do my art, I can't text friends without any alerts. Bark, you say that you give more privacy, not less well? I feel like an exposed hermit crab. cannot get it to work. followed the instructions on screen several times, it refuses to connect to my daughter's phone. the app keeps kicking me into a loop telling me to install the app when I am already on the app! very frustrating.

Avoid, the app is trash and can be disabled at will by my child. I emailed Bark tech support, and got no support, their advice was for me to download a different app to aid in monitoring my childs phone usage. So rather then telling me how to keep my child from turning the Bark app off they confirmed that Bark is trash. Don't waste your time or money, Bark is useless. If I could give it zero stars I would.

It's a little better now but still has some serious issues in my mind. We constantly receive notifications that our kids left home, went through a defined location that is 80 miles away, then never return home, even though they are asleep in the next room. Why doesn't my phone back button control the back button on screen? Also there are so many other sites that could be listed for approval.

useless to limit screen time. my 12 yr old repetitively defeats any controls this app has. switching to the free parental control for android.

This app could be great but it's constantly telling me it is no longer able to monitor my son's phone due to the app being outdated and it's not something that is easily updated on his phone either. I can't get auto updates and it makes this whole process so cumbersome. He's at his Dad's house some of the time so I'm not able to keep this up to date. Not happy with what I'm paying for. There's also a lot of false warnings for things that are harmless.

Have used this product on\off for a few years now. It has issues with setup, the instructions are very poor and not updated. It has a lot of glitches but seems like they spend more time trying to add advertising and forcing undesired features (like the new Moments that nobody likes) instead of fixing the bugs. Location tracking is horrible. Aside those negatives, I like the premise, that it screens your child's data instead of sharing it all, giving them some privacy.

Okay so.... this is a kid's experience on this app. =) I would say that it is definitely limiting me a lot, like, my parents can see any message I send, pretty much anything I type, and my parents put limits on my gaming time. it can be frustrating, because I consider myself a well-behaved kid, however, when my parents are notified that most of my messages are 'negative' in my case, it's because I'm not giving outward praise or compliments to someone. I have a bark phone. none of the apps work that aren't monitored by bark. even with uncatagorized traffic on. im a gay teen and my parents are religious and homophobic. me and my boyfriend broke up because a text was flagged. further more my parents used to trust me when I had an iPhone. I always was safe online and only ever used social media for my trusted friends. this phone makes me feel like I can't talk to people. and with my parents the way they are we can't have a discussion. thanks bark

getting tired of this app. it has said "fix assessibility" and "pending first analysis" for the last 3 months. we have done everything it suggests. my child has even gotten a new phone so I know its not due to an old system. if we are paying every month, please allow the app to be running properly. (we've used Bark for years and are just now having these issues)

This app is buns because even though it blocks admin settings my child can just play ringtones all day and it ain't healthy but I cant block it they should make the pause button go like family links method and that he can bypass permissions by tapping the button really quick and the AI is buns too u should use a smarter system because I saw his screen and it accused him of something he didn't say and sometimes,typos and it should read more carefully with notification spamming u cant even modify

was good, now selling your children's information... suddenly the phone downloaded YouTube and doesn't allow the app or anything to delete it. additionally it is letting the phone use it even though the app says it's disabled... your dismissal of the facts is enlightening Bark and has been noted.

This thing is awful. This might seem wrong due to me actually being one of the kids effected, but my entire phone is a Bark and it drains my data even when I'm connected to the internet, won't let me use apps my parent approved multiple times, and flags the dumbest things ever. That's all.

this app is absoulute trash. please dont waste your money on it. Android user here and it is a nightmare to set up if you can get past the set up. I couldn't get past it because Google blocks it deep in its settings and good luck getting the winning combo to make it work. it feels like you have to enter the dark web to allow all the permissions for this app. Its rediculous and not user friendly to set up at all. I can only imagine the actually functionality of the app is just the same.

Child here, app sucks it is way too controlling you can't even use half your settings. I don't feel safe using my phone when having these parental controls and monitoring. My mother is supper strict as is and wont listen to me nut this is a whole mew level of pain. My mental health has suffered with this app. I feel on the constant urge of panic attacks and I feel like I should run away or end it all constantly. I could give it NEGATIVE 100000 stars I WOULD. SOMEONE HELP ME.

The concept is great, but this application is absolutely awful... the design is mediocre, the functionality and user experience are TERRIBLE! I honestly cannot believe they charge people money to use this thing. It CONSTANTLY has false positives (no matter how many adjustments to sensitivity), it has little to no control over any iPhone device, is less capable in many ways than the *FREE* Google Family Link app, and most annoying of all, you cannot use the back button... that's just basic 🙄👎

I am the son of a mother who has this app, and I would like to say that the phone itself is absolute garbage. I would rather have a Nokia than this. Not only is all of this expensive, the phone is super slow despite being pretty new and the app blocks searches in a seemingly arbitrary manner (tried fixing a bike, no they blocked it for some reason.) im not even mad about the fact I'm being watched. I'm mad that bark is such a terrible app. If you want to watch your kid, find another app.

I've been using for about thre months now. So far, I like the actual phone and the monitoring, though I wish there was a way to fine tune it a bit more. The actual parental control app is atrocious. I have many complaints about how clunky and non-intuitive the app. Closing instead of going back, no easy location finder - android app has no access to the 'easy map button' website does. Please fix, this is expensive enough without the frustration.

Makes the monitored device completely useless. This app absolutely consumes all the resources so that its just a brick. It can monitor pretty well I will give them that but for almost $200 a year don't waste your time or money.

its a little overwhelming at first, but it was because of my device, not the app/program.

The app is good while the service is on but there is no real customer service when something goes wrong. Just a useless AI chatbot with generic answers. When my son lost his phone I paused the service while I was trying to figure out next steps, since no human could help me sort my options. Now the app does not let me do anything else in it until the service and payment gets restarted. I am canceling as soon as the app let's me back on.

Disappointed. The app is nee to me, but it says it monitors and flags certain things with your child's device. I sent stuff that should have been flagged, to see how notifications and stuff worked, and it did not flag any of the messages I sent. I'm going to keep playing around with it, but I think I am going to have to go with something else.

worst experience ever!! I paid more for a phone just for the Bark app that at the end doesn't work for my son who has autism and is 18 years old and when I tried to uninstall Bark it doesn't let me do it ... even though I paid for the phone more than buying it from any store.

This has been an answer to our prayers. I need a phone for my son so I can get ahold of him and feel safe when he is away.But then we invite the entire world into our home in and it's terrifying. This is a win win affordable phone that does everything all the other phones do while having control is a parent.

recently got the bark phone for my kid and so far its been great I have to approve contacts and apps and get a constant location

IMO not worth the money, not worth the download. I gave it the free trial and found it odd to use(not hard) just odd. I found Google family link to be free and have such better security and ease of use.

use to love this app when my daughter has an android. I have Android and once she got an iPhone I could never get them to properly connect. BUT WORSE since we stopped using it but I got charged for a year on the 1st of the month and when I logged back in to see if I could cancel it's telling me I don't have a current subscription. someone needs to do something because I haven't used this app in over 6 months and I want my money back

constant errors. unlinking her YouTube and Gmail accounts. and always asking me to do an update but there are no updates to install.

Upon use, realized the app is just not consistent. It regularly disconnects from the parent device and you have to have the child device to reset it, not a big deal but is inconvenient for a paid app. The level of the monitoring can be toggled, but the notification settings are tied to it. So if you want the "safest" monitoring it sends tons of notifications. The bedtime/school time settings would say they were active, but didn't actually work. Just ended up closing our account.

I haven't even received the phone yet, just cruising the app, and I can tell this is the phone all my kids will get when they come of age. So relieved a product like this exists for my tween.
