A fantastic way for Android users to get Apple users to stop whining. Unfortunately, 2.0 introduced a number of usability bugs on Android making the app noticeably less polished. It looks prettier, but at the sake of functionality.

Wow, Kudos to the developers. This app might be a bit tech savvy to setup but man I am so thankful to the devs behind who put in all the effort and their time to make this work. I want to use Android but my sim is tied to the iPhone as a main phone so I am just very thankful that this solution exists. Tip: Use AI chat that you use to debug the setup. For example for me the error messages weren't obvious but found I needed to set up a billing account for Firebase as Google requires now.

I'm only giving it 1 star because this is not a message app you can just download and use. you have to set it up and I'm not tech savvy enough to do what it needs and I also do not want to have to set up an app just to use it. user beware. if you want to just download and use, this app isn't it.

Has app crashes during resynch half the time. The app also has an issue rechecking before the cloud server URL changes. It will cause an app crash upon open when it doesn't. But other than that i have been very happy about this app and I think it's worth the work to go through the process.

Despite a few technical issues every now and then (usually when Apple updates something), this has been a remarkably robust and useful program for sending blue bubble messages from an Android. If you have a Mac device but no iPhone, this can definitely get your friends off your back about breaking group chats!

I came from air messages, this is so much better. first the app is actually just on the play store rather than needing side loading. second it's pretty. third it has all the functionality one would expect from imessages.

Setup requires a bit of patience and linking initially it works. just that if I close the server on my Mac and then exit out of app and then restart server on Mac and then retry sending msg the app crashes,just crashes and exits out - the server on Mac is well and running only solution so far to make app work again I've to clear app data and Re-scan the Qr only then I can resume my chats is there anything I'm missing? Kindly reply. Good App over-all tho!

I thought I was downloading a potential ios messaging app for android. But all in all, it just sucks. I couldn't even get in thr messaging because of some stupid login to your server thing. I'm not giving any app access to my accounts! Stupid developers, try again.

Worked well until the Android app constantly force closes after being open for 5 seconds. Unsure why, but this is not proving reliable. Response to developer: I literally just did all of that two weeks ago. Why does firebase seem to corrupt or misconfigure itself randomly over time?

works great for a while, maybe up to a week and then I have to reinstall it. but loving it so far. clearing cache doesn't help if I delete all local data. I just have to reset it up.

It was slightly confusing on how to merge the mac over. But after I figured it out, it's nearly perfect. The one thing for me, is that android messages can't also be included. The reason this can be a little bit of an issue is because my sim card is primarily in my work phone which is an iPhone. So anyone that texts me from an android, I won't receive their messages unless my personal phone has the sim card (which will be rare because I mainly use the personal phone at home).

This app does require some setup, some technical knowledge will be needed for the server setup, but once it's running it's almost perfect. Been using this for months and it's solid.

The developers of this platform really deserve kudos. They brought an iMessage solution to Android that is near parity to the one on iPhones. Yes, the setup requires some I.T. skill, but the fact this even exists and works is amazing. thanks again to the great team involved in this project!

Great application. Only issue (which is likely more Apple) is the limited multimedia functionality if you don't make modifications to your Mac OS device, but outside of that it's great

works great. team is responsive I'm their Discord chat. only had one e disconnection since last ast year which was an easy fix. sometimes it will create another chat with whoever you were already texting with but easy to get used to, but it hasn't happened as of late.

best app on Android. a few fixed id recommend: when typing a long message, if you switch to another app or even wait too long, BlueBubbles will refresh and delete your message draft.. other texting apps like Textra do not behave like this. also, having to fetch chat details for every new contact is a pain also, why can't we schedule images in scheduled messages? and, when you create a new conversation via the + button, cursor focus stays in the same field. it should switch to msg content

edit: I am not talking about the font itself but the sliders to change the way it looks. I've tried all sorts of combos and can't get it right. would be helpful to have a guide. Works well only one issue. I cannot seem to find anything that explains the font scheme. I've tried messing with sliders but it still looks weird. Set up takes a little time once set up you never have to touch it again. App is extremely reliable and zero maintenance is required. If you have a server already then you probably know what you're doing enough to set this up. Easily the best solution out there for people wanting to get imessage across all of their devices/platforms

Easy setup with Google firebase, and extremely reliable. Private API features make it almost the same as normal iMessage app. Also the coloured bubbles are pleasant. favourite app on my phone

iMessage on Android! It does exactly what it says it should do. Occasional hiccups here and there (and you do need a Mac always on) but it works!

I'm unsure why this has 4.7 Stars. This is not iMessage, and it does not work. Nearly as well as an iPhone with iMessage. Do not be fooled. I switched to an Android, with hopes that this would make the transition easier. And boy was I wrong. When I send texts on the app it appears as my email, so people are confused. Straight up. Cannot text on the app, and it just doesn't work. Pictures do not work. Videos? Forget about it. I would rather just have a mirror of Mac iMessage, Not this. Fake news.

While this is slightly tricky to set up and requires a Mac running as a server (finally found a use for my MacBook from high school though), it's well worth it! I'm trying out android on a separate plan, so not having to give my friends another phone number to track has been so clutch!

Sigh, redoing my review. This app is becoming absolutely infuriating to use. I update the Server URL but the app refuses to connect. It's been connected to ngrok and to Cloudfire (their recommendation), get a couple of messages and it seems like things are OK but then without warning the app starts its vicious cycle of "Socket Connection: Disconnected....Connecting....Error" repeatedly. Unfortunately, some of my friends still have out converations on iMessage now I'm not getting many messages.

Love this project, fantastic piece of software. Once set up its been nearly flawless for me, makes switching from iOS to GrapheneOS feasible. While all the core stuff works without a hitch, don't expect 100% compatibility. E.g. no emoji tapbacks, cant send stickers, etc. But for keeping up with iMessage only group chats, this does the job perfectly. Hoping to see the Facetime support advance over time 🤞 but even without those features i can't recommend this app enough

Set up is not for the non-geek personality, but now that I've got everything going I've had months and months of uptime with zero service failures. The people who wrote the code for this really are geniuses.

Amazing app if you have an old cheap Mac laying around. Allows me to communicate with all my friends without disrupting their group chats. I use it every day and you must make sure your server's connection is reliable, but if you can do this this is a must use. I rarely touch the Mac that is running the server because it's so seamless.

If you're looking for a way to use iMessage on Android, this is in my experience the most reliable way to do it. (Aside from maybe Beeper, but I'm on the waiting list) Setting up your Mac can be a real challenge depending on how new it is. I have an old Mac Mini running High Sierra, so I had to install HomeBrew, then CloudFlare's tunnel software didn't work on my ancient Mac, so I used ngrok. Ngrok was its own challenge. But now it is absolutely rock solid and is almost a perfect replacement.

Big thank you from a distressed mother of a child with Android NOT an iPhone. My child was excluded from a group chat for swim team because she was the 21st number in group chat limited to 20 #'s with an Android. The group said they would find a fix but basically didn't care and just excluded my kid. I was desperate.. THANK YOU blue bubbles...yes it was a long process, but it allowed my child to participate in the team chat. THANK YOU!!

Have been using this for the past several months now. Very happy with the experience, and it's worked very well for me. Was reading through all the bad reviews, and goodness, there's a lot of people who don't understand software. Using the app requires following instructions, and that's it. If you can't follow instructions, at least don't trash your review of a solid team. For goodness sake, the app itself is literally open source.

Whenever I tried to download, it would always find something wrong. This app is so annoying Whenever I try to set up the server it still doesn't work. If you could change some things it would be great cause some phones don't have some abilities like others

So far, so good! First of all, the app looks and feels like iMessage, and the private API features really add to that as well. Second, the setup process was somewhat confusing, especially with the Google Notifications, since I did run into a few errors. However, once set up, it has been working flawlessly. I set up the server on a Mac Mini I got from Facebook Marketplace, and I just leave it running, and I don't have to ever touch it.

Hacked.. right after I downloaded this app and input my password, I started getting sign in attempts on a lot of my accounts that used the same password and email. Good thing I had 2 step verification and Google also blocked the attempt. I've never had this happen to be before. Edited: I'm not spreading false information. I'm only stating what happened.

Great. But it always has an issue sending g videos. My screen has to be on. In that chat for a video to send. Otherwise it fails. Recently, video sending has caused the app to stop working unless I restart it from my MacBook terminal. Which is very inconvenient when I'm out for the whole day and I'm entirely without imessage until then

There are so many great things about this app and the BlueBubbles service overall. I'm a big fan of Pixel phones, but am in the typical American situation of having basically all of my social circles inside of iMessage. I was using Beeper for iMessage, however once Apple shut it down this appeared to be the next best thing, and it turns out to be even better! 100% open source project, tons of features, very customizable UI, and great documentation that make server setup easy. HIGHLY recommend!

Setup was a bit involved, but everything works very well after that. This is one of the better open source projects I've ever encountered, and it's clear the devs are very passionate about it. Only been running for a few days, but if everything holds out, I will definitely throw the devs a few bucks for the hard work. Thanks guys!

This app is incredible, not only for its primary function, but for all the customization options as well. Could you please add a feature for sorting contacts into groups in the main chat list? EDIT: In the sense that when you open the app, instead of all your recent contacts showing up altogether, you have like just a few Groups like "Work" and then you click it and see all texts you've sorted into "Work" or like a group called "Buddies" that includes only your closest friends, for example.

Very Dependable! BUT PLEASE ADD THE OPTION TO ATTACH A PHOTO TO A NEW MESSAGE! Update (dev responded within minutes of posting)! I have updated my original 4 star review to 5 stars for the impeccable response time from the developer. The workaround is to start a new conversation, click on the send button with an empty message (it won't actually send anything), and you now have access to the photos and camera buttons! The good: -This app and the windows client are awesome.It is like having full-on iMessage on my Android device. -No fuss and super reliable once it is setup. -SMS relay over iMessage also works! -My family no longer looks down on me for being a green bubble person. Little do they know I'm a covert Android user! The bad: -Setup can take an hour. Must follow directions.

Needed to text with iMessage with a few people, yet I really prefer pixel phones over iPhones for so many reasons. This app has a huge barrier to entry because you need to have a Mac mini and leave it running 24/7. The setup on the Mac mini takes an hour or two. All of that being said, once the Mac mini and this app are up and running, it works really well! The Android software is some of the best text software out there! I was able to buy a Mac mini with Catalina for $80 on eBay.

setup was definitely a pain (even as a tech savvy person) but once it worked it worked flawlessly. Great solution and loads of customization. More feature rich then the real iMessage client and its not reliant on a third-party cloud server to route messages like beeper.

Switched to a Pixel 8 Pro from iPhone. I didn't tell my family I switched and they couldn't tell because bubbles are still blue in our messages. Setup was a bit detailed but the guide on the website was great. Now everyone still gets pictures and video that are high quality because apple doesn't know I'm on android. Highly recommend!

A must have app for Android users. My only complaint is that it lacks group chat creation support, which I just do manually from the server. Hopefully they add it in a future release. 2/18/23 Update: Full support for group chat has been added. The app only gets better every month as it has an active development team.

The average rating should be way higher. Being brought down by people who don't bother to read that THIS REQUIRES A MAC. Yes, it takes a bit of technical savvy but that's not the app's fault. The developers have done an amazing job in making the setup pretty darn easy. If you're that upset about it, get an iPhone and go in peace.

Easy to use and set up (even the "hacking" part was relatively easy). Fully integrated my imessage onto my fold 5 and has not have too many issues since. Only complaint is sometimes I cant send large attachments such as videos. Besides that the findmy works and everything else seem to run fine. Private API works some times and its hard to integrate apple id wirh phone numbers as ppl get confused why I'm texting on my apple email

Great spp works awesome and all you need is a Mac either pgitcsl or VM, can use imessage on your android with even more features and details then the regular Imesaage app can give you. Like best friends, schedule send, use the enter button to send a message. Awesome app thank you to the developers Doesn't kill the battery either (although like every app more battery optimizations never hurts) seriously can't thank the devs enough for being able to use iMessage on Android.

After getting it set up on my MacBook pro the app runs really well. I'm using the Fold 5 and and my Galaxy Watch 6. It even still sends me notifications on my watch when my watch is connected LTE and my phone isn't around. It never disconnects or give me connection problems. I restart my computer every few days for the best performance. But overall I'm really satisfied with the product. Good luck 👍

No one believes I have a Samsung flip when they're like "...but your texts came in blue" and I'm like "yeah because there are awesome people in this world building that bridge connecting Apple and Android that we've been waiting for for too long 😀 " I can't tell you the amount of apple friends I have that say they're switching to android (flip specifically bc its great af) but only because we finally can connect the two. Thank you to developers for just doing what we've all been wishing for.

I want to like the app but it just has far too many bugs and is very glitchy. My server has been set up since I got my phone, yet my phone seems to disconnect from it nearly every other day and it's very tedious to try and reconnect since the QR scanner only works about a quarter of the time. Would like to be able to use the app more seamlessly but it has just become an annoyance to use for messaging.

As others have said this app requires a bit of effort on the server side to get working. Once you get it all set up it's pretty amazing. A pretty much seamless integration and, assuming you have the private API installed and enabled on your server, it supports basically every feature iMessage does. In response to the dev I would like to say that although the setup does take some effort the documentation is very clear and consise and makes it easy if you're even moderately tech savvy.

Clever means of using iMessage on an Android phone, but the process is involved if you're not tech-savvy. However, the developers do work on making the process easier, which goes to show how much care is put into BlueBubbles. I've found that the support is very helpful on their Discord channel — a feature I suggested there eventually made it in, too!

Awesome app with the only caveat being you can't easily use your phone number (there is a way with an old iPhone, but now you have an iPhone AND a Mac just to run this). Service isn't fully reliable, sometimes I don't get messages on one or more devices or the server stops working without any errors, necessitating a restart of the server. It's also missing regular SMS. But overall it's a really great app that really brings iMessages to Android and Windows.

Amazing service on their discord and it takes a bit of setup to get everything working. It does require a Mac(or virtual machine) to setup and if thats not available to you, go complain to apple, not the bluebubbles devs. Apple is the one pushing for a closed ecosystem and there is nothing the devs can do about this. Just be thankful that they give us an option for free with no ads or nonsense.

TLDR: Amazing app, but requires reading and attention to detail for setup. This app solves one of the (VERY FEW) things I miss from iPhone/iOS. For context, I was an apple user for the last 10+ years; I mean I had almost every iPhone within that time, ipad(s), a Mac, Macbook(s), pencil, Apple TV, Apple Watch, you name it, I had it! The setup was tedious, but as long as you read the instructions and pay attention to every step and detail, you'll be fine. It's 1000% worth it.

The best psrt is being able to send high quality videos and pictures with family/friends which is something I was really in need of with my job. Flawless experience IF YOU HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE AND EQUIPMENT. This application is by definition a workaround for imessage. It's as plug and play as it can be for a self hosted application. You need a reliable Mac or VM and a stable internet connection. That being said, if you follow the documentation, you should have no problems. My server is running on a VM in a datacenter and I've basically set it up and forgotten about it. It's perfect.

Blue bubbles delivers an excellent experience for users who are able and willing to devote sometime to understanding and using it. I suspect most of the low reviews here are for users who don't have a enough experience or time invested. The team is in constant contact with its users base and continues to make improvements, and any fixes that need to be applied are done quickly.

I can see setup being a little difficult for less tech savvy people, but once the effort is put in to get it running, it works great. Been using it for almost 3 yrs and the only time I have an issue is during an server side update and a reboot of my Mac has always fixed it.

This app is a great idea but it's far from reliable. Constant server crashes on all servers. You better have an actual iphone in your pocket alongside this app cuz it will make you look retarded when you can't send a message to someone cuz the server is down. It's a constant pain to have to get on the mac and reload/refresh and set up and change servers all the time to keep it working.

The objectively superior tech of Android, without getting harassed by clueless iPhone users. I wish there was an option for me to donate! Absolutely the best iMessage for Android experience. I used Airmessage for years and heard about this randomly, and I'm so happy I made the switch. Is the setup for more involved? Sure, but those fifteen minutes of setup will lead to a much better experience in the long run. The server is far more consistent and the added ability to edit messages, leave reactions to messages, reply in line, etc. make it all so worth it. I don't miss anything about iMessage now! Love this app!

This app is probably the one of the best messaging apps on the playstore. It has everything you could possibly ask for, and more. I didn't expect for it to have IOS theming, which is really nice for people who want their app to look exactly like iMessage. It has unsend and edit messages, which is also great. Even though the Mac os VM setup was a pain, it was definitely worth it in the end.

This update is more beautiful than the last version of the app, but the experience is worse. Disconnections are more frequent. And despite having the connection status toggled on for the chat list it doesn't appear.

After watching the online video instructions and the step-by-step web instructions, I gave up after an hour of the same error when trying to sync my messages. However, the app developers patiently helped me get this running through Discord. BlueBubnles now works flawlessly. My iPhone family members freaked out when I sent them a message from my Pixel, thinking I got a new iPhone.

Just plain works. Well done. Only catch is if your "server" goes down or loses connection then you lose iMessage. Overall I only use iMessage to send media to iOS devices and stay on top of group chats. Glad this app exists!

So far so good. It was a process to set up, but thankfully the instructions were very easy to follow. I do notice it disconnects occasionally, but it's been pretty smooth overall. Images take a while to load, but that's not a huge deal. I also love the different app theming options to make it fit in with Google/material or Samsung design. It'd be nice to have a Material You compatible icon for the homescreen though. Odd omission since the entire app can be set to use Material You themes.

Really great app. The set up was a bit difficult but it works so well that it's worth it. The only issue I'm having is messages appearing in the incorrect order. For some reason, the message I sent is always bumped to the bottom of the chat and the responsea show up above it as of they came in before the message I sent. Not a huge deal but it's a fairly new issue I've been seeing.

Do you have to have a Mac, or can an old iPhone work? Does this solve the fact that android, for whatever reason, still can't send quality videos in messenger? I have no IT skills, reading these reviews, as great as they are, make me feel it might never be running on my phone lol

Great app! I've tried a few iMessage apps for Android and this one is by far the best. It's a bit tricky to set up especially if your wifi has firewalls installed but it's worth the wait. Hopefully in the future i can make this my default sms app.

Used it for months now. Works very well overall, sent something like 22k iMessages with few issues. Setup isn't hard, just buy an ole cheap Mac on eBay. I really enjoy trolling my friends who are ride or die Apple, and it's fun to tweak. Thanks devs!

The setup was a bit of hoops but worth it for imessage on android but the only and biggest flaw I have with this app is that it doesn't allow sms to be apart of the interface and or be able so sync sms and rcs messages together or togle between number and imessage in spotty service.

I have been using this for a few days now. The setup process wasn't too complicated and they do a really good job at explaining how to set it up. The only downside is that you would ideally have an old Mac and iphone laying around in order for it to be connected to your phone number. Without an iPhone it sends messages with your email and people have to keep 2 contacts for you. It's not a huge deal but would be super convenient if all your messages could go through this app linked to your number

So I've been using this for about 2 months now. Starting when my mother went out the country and I refused to use WhatsApp. It's been fun to use iMessage again. It's a few complicated steps to set up for the normal person, but I got it through first try including private API features and change the skin to mirror the Google messages app with material you and it is fantastic. The only problem is picture will "fail" to send but sends anyway, but not too much of an issue as it still send.

This is a great solid solution. Super reliable and useful. The only things holding back 5 stars is the lack of android auto and sms support. Love my Bluebubbles! Edit: Android Auto works a treat!

An absolutely incredible cross device experience. Be aware that it takes some setup on the desktop side, but that's something to be expected for this kind of system. Incredibly stable, helpful community, and a proper step to tear down some walls. Support however possible.

Amazing experience!! Just takes some figuring out, but that is easier with the help of the developers! Even possible with a windows computer if you have the time

I'm new to the app, and was excited to find it. The set up process was difficult, but I only have to do it once so that's ok. Seems worth it so far. My only complaint is that so far it doesn't appear that I can do group chats or react to any iMessages like the ad for the app says I'd be able to do. Seems like a good app so far, but gave it 4 stars because the group chat and reactions aren't possible.

Great app! Setting it up was a bit of work but it's only a one time thing. Only had one problem regarding notifications but the developers were amazing and took their time to personally help me with the issue. App is reliable and works flawlessly. Now I can finally join all the friend group chats lol 😄

I loved this app but recently it randomly stops working. Either stops receiving and sending texts. Or just stops sending texts but will receive them. I'd recommend having the ability to remote into your Mac server to reset things if needed and I'm having to do it everyday. This app is beginning to be more of a hassle than pleasure to use.

Absolutely amazing! Spun up a macos virtual machine, installed the BlueBubbles server, a few companion programs (OpenCore Configurator & MacForge), and now I don't have to hear complaints about green bubbles! The only snag I ran into (that wasn't mentioned in the documentation) was with the virtual eth0 device - the os prevented me from signing into my iCloud account until I generated a new MAC address. Thanks devs!!

Now I can trick people into thinking I have an iPhone with blue text bubbles, but I can still have the better camera, ram, customization, security, privacy, third party support, better battery, easily accessible charger, fast charging, external memory, shatter resistance, lack of planned obsolescence, more affordable, better OLED screen, superior facial recognition, and fingerprint sensor of Android! It's the best of both worlds

Honestly, this app is amazing! I wish I didn't need to host a server basically ln my laptop. But that's a small price to pay. Also I wish that I could react to messages like on ios, but EVERYTHING else is there! If you have alot of friends or family with ios this app is a must have!

This app is crazy!! The ammount of stuff you can do made me decide to keep my android, since my friends basically stopped messaging me once I switched from my iPhone. This app is 95% reliable and I have ALL of my most important conversations on there. The other 5% has to do with troubleshooting and hoops you need to jump through to get it to work. Setup takes a minute, but it's mostly a set it and forget it kind of deal. The devs are SUPER helpful on the discord server.

My suggestion to everyone: have TeamViewer or something like it on the host PC and your phone for quick troubleshooting. Really cool app! Works well! Small hiccups here and there with the server disconnecting but having used it for almost 3 months now, only about 2 of these unforseen disconnects happened so really good in my eyes! Of those 2 disconnects was the server update to 1.0, my phone didn't pick up on that for some reason until I logged into the PC and then everything was good.

When I send a text, it initially fails then a second copy of the text sends successfully. So I have 2 of the same messages but one failed to send. Edit: rebooted the whole thing it works. Haven't tried the develoeotips yet tho changed to 4 stars

Great overall experience. You do have to jump through some hoops to get it working, but its a one time process. I have an old mac mini just plugged in and I've had no issues outside of the occassional disconnect. The app allows you to restart the server and you're good to go. Air message is much easier to set up (like insanely easy compared to this) but this app has a much better interface and way more features and customization. Now I can stay in my group chats with my iPhone friends.

Some of my "iphone friends" are hard to convert to Signal or other chat service. I wish Apple would just make iMessage available to all platforms. I understand why they don't though. Thank you BlueBubbles! This is an amazing way to get iMessage capabilities on Android and desktop! I hate SMS, especially when I get "So and So liked this" etc. In a group chat. I also know it frustrates iphone users too.

Easy setup for both the server and private API features by following the walkthrough on the BlueBubbles site. App looks great and works great once you get ngrok set up. Only thing that some people might miss is that you have to manually enable private API features in the BlueBubbles app on your phone after you enable them on the server client.

What a great way to have the best of both worlds! Hats off to the devs for doing what a billion dollar (depending on the week) company refuses to do. This app is reliable, robust, and just works. The only issues I've experienced in the last few weeks of heavy daily use have been related to my Mac server machine, and not the BlueBubbles stack. Highly recommend for anybody who still wants to be a "blue bubble" instead of green.

Takes a bit of setup and a real or virtual Mac, but so far this is the best way to get iMessage on Android and pc. Tried wemessage and airmesage, and while this took a little more setup, it is by far the best and most feature rich. Setting up the private API features is definitely worth your time.

Absolutely brilliant app. This integrates so well with the Android and Mac server. And the developers are SUPER helpful if you join their discord server. Do note that you need a Mac running their server app to be on 24/7. I bought a late 2012 Mac Mini on eBay for like $100. But yeah, brilliant app -- and it's free and open source. <3

This app and the devs behind it are amazing. It is BY FAR the best solution to use iMessage on Android. You guys rock! Video setup instructions are dead simple and it's infinitely more reliable than other solutions.

I have a feeling this is a great app but I'm having great difficulty just getting the MacOS server set up on my android phone (Pixel 5). I'm not the most savvy running dmg and zip files on android phones. The instructions are a bit chaotic and not as easy as displayed on their website. Definitely want to use it but can't even get it set up.

This app is freaking phenomenal! I feel bad cause I don't rate things very often but wow this app deserves 5 stars. I've been using it for about 4 months now and it's surprisingly easy to set up and I've loved the updates too. The devs are definitely still here and constantly making it better and it's top notch! Every app has a few bugs but the fix em real quick, especially for how small their team is, and I've never experienced anything that would change my 5 star review. Use bluebubbles!

This app and its mission are ambitious and amazing. Now that I have it set up, I basically have iMessage on my s21. However, it did take time to setup, and some issues occurred during that process. The developers on the discord, though, were absolutely fantastic in helping me and anyone else with issues. I was thinking of getting airmessage but this support and the ability for features like tapback made me choose Bluebubbles, and I'm happy with my decision. Difficultish setup but worth it. 4.5/5

Most recent update seems to be impacting performance. It feels like performance was sacrificed for the appearance of the app. Just more sluggish in general Additionally, if I save a picture (outside of the app) with a chat still open, when I return to the chat, the preview gallery no longer auto-updates. For the picture to appear, I have to back out of the chat and go back in. Hopefully these issues will be addressed in an upcoming update.

The Android app for BlueBubbles has worked really well for me. I am a beta tester and have been using it to communicate with people on iMessage for several months. If anyone is new to BlueBubbles and/or needs help setting things up, I highly suggest joining the Discord server. There is a lot of useful information there and people are very willing to help. The only issues I have had seem to be server related but can be quite frustrating because if the server becomes disconnected the Android app is useless. The main request/ask I have is to enable normal SMS within the BlueBubbles app, so that I can do all of my texting/messaging in one app. - Note: This app does require a server app to be installed on an always on Mac machine running macOS, but the developers have made this clear and the setup process is pretty easy to follow.

Amazing! The interface is great and it allows me to use iMessage on my Android. I'm happy to be able to send/receive better pictures and videos. My friends are all happy to have blue bubbles in their messages.

Very nice app! I honestly only have a couple people in my circle who use iPhones, but I am able to seamlessly talk to them from my Android phone. Just curious: I assume I have to keep my Mac running in the background all day if I want to be able to use BlueBubbles. Are there specific settings I could use to minimize power consumption and not burnout my display?

Bloody good app! Been using it for just over a day with hardly any issues. Any issues I had I joined the discord where the Devs responded back to me pretty much instantly. I had an issue with my contact names but the Devs created a patch within a couple of hours. They really put time and effort into this app with the UI and the ability to customise the theme colours. This has the POSSIBILITY to become better than the actual iMessage app 🙊

Hands down - Best App of 2020 I use 3 phones. One is work only. One is my personal iPhone. One is a mix of the two. I pay for 2 lines of service. One work. One personal. I could pay for a third but need the number to be shared between the two devices. This app allows me to do this. It is fsntastic. The design is clean and well put together. The customization options are there. Several hours in and going strong. Network experience is recommended to keep it working outside your home network.

Works perfectly, I've used group chats, reactions show up, and everyday use it works perfectly. The developer work very hard on getting it out here, its the best one I've used, and it even has a desktop app for windows and Linux. As long as you have a Mac you should use this instead of airmessage.
