UPDATE: Audible responded to my review about the last update causing inability to connect earbuds without having to close and reopen the app, with a suggestion to delete and reload a book from my library. The issue is clearly within the app. The issue happens with every book and podcast I play, every time I switch to earbuds. I tried and it did absolutely nothing. It never did this before, and now it does every time I connect earbuds. Please don't update your app in a way that BREAKS IT.

This app is so frustrating for me to use. I hate it. the Libby app is so much more user-friendly. I listen to audiobooks to help me fall asleep at night. Setting the timer and reading the bookmarks is almost impossible at night. the letters are so tiny and there's no way to illuminate the choices. I wish there was some way I could talk to the developers at audible and ask them to improve the functionality of their app and make it more like the Libby app.

they allowed another account to use my card information and refused to help me get my money back or remove my card information from whoever's account because I didnt know the name of who had my card information.

The app randomly freezes and either shuts down or is running in background so it has to be restarted! Very frustrating and annoying!@$#%$#

I have tried many other audio book apps and keep coming back to audible. Recently they have really upped the number of titles included in the Premium Plus Catalog that makes the upgrade from a normal subscription truly worth it! I have been listening for years and have almost 300 titles. Audible is worth it.

I love this app. Offers so many audio books and audio audible is great for introducing authors that I would never found on my own. I am hooked.

Merge Account to Amazon? How can anyone do that if your system fails and doesn't allow it? Fix your error or shut down the merge abs stop wasting people's time.

I got audible because I had to travel, and I get motion sickness so cannot read as it's very uncomfortable. That was a few years ago, I now listen to podcasts, I have discovered new authors as I can explore the library which is available with prime, I have always loved reading and absolutely love this app, which has given me the ability to take my favourite books with me when out walking. I really love how I get to keep my books that I have bought even if I stop using the app.

I love being able to listen to some books on the go. The one thing I dislike is that when they rerelease a book with a different narrator the books I have in a series I can no longer move to the next book without looking through my library and am constantly being pushed to buy the same book with a different narrator. Unless they add sound effects to enhance the experience I have no interest in buying the same book multiple times.

The new licensing model is awful, great way to discourage independent authors. Why do you not tell people you can't have more than six credits stored but still continue to bill them? The app itself is fine, the processes and business behind it suck.

I love audible. I always download it when I get a new phone. I struggled with reading my whole life so when I want to read a book I download the book I'm reading to follow along.

They've been charging my credit card for months. Ive never used their "service" and only found out they have been stealing 23 dollars a month from me when I noticed it on my credit statement. logging into their app prompted me to "sign up". trying to find a subscription for the app required about a half an hour of being bounced back and forth between their website, app, and Amazon's app. trying to cancel was far more painful.

edit: update has fixed my issues with this app. I use it everyday and have no complaints. listen log will help you find your place if you fall asleep and forget the timer. I can't imagine a better app to listen to audiobooks. Thanks Audible I wish the lock screen slider and buttons weren't so accessible. While in my pocket and working I accidentally change chapters and skip portions. A nuisance. But otherwise I love the app! Some great literature here

User interface is terrible, and getting worse with every update, hard to find new content, I used to be able to filter the plus catalogue; it's completely invisible now. there is an "included" option but there is so little content in there... 20 sci-fi titles... some sort of joke. I listen to content every day, but when it's time to find my next read I end up frustrated, most of the time I just listen to my existing titles again. New authors have got no chance of reaching me.

I recently subscribed to Audible to enjoy content at home during the winter months. While I have integrated Google Home speakers throughout my residence, I am experiencing persistent technical issues when attempting to cast audio; the Audible app freezes and fails to load, despite Spotify and YouTube functioning correctly on the same devices. I have already performed standard troubleshooting, including clearing the cache, reinstalling the application, and resetting the hardware, without luck.

CANNOT USE! Doesn't load at all!! I uninstalled and restarted my phone and it does the same thing just stays showing the loading icon. Trash *I have signed out and signed back in. Doesn't work at all.

I love listening to a book. I can listen while driving, working, gaming or just doing housework.

Threw away Kindle after finding Audible. Over 500 books Finished since 2019. over 9,400 hours of listen time. My Three issues are #1: The Library feature that lists books needs user interface work. Its a huge pain to navigate or sort through and find old books I own to check for new releases in the series. #2: Most of the SALES or offers feature low quality books or a 7 book series will have book 2 and 6 in the sale and not the other. #3: Fake 5 star Reviews are on SO MANY books. Fix it.

I have been subscribed to this app for several years and have had zero issues. I have loved it. Until now. The app randomly stops playing my books and is a very significant issue. We all need to give it one star and leave a review about the problem until they fix it.

So many bugs. been using this app for over 7 years now and it seems to be getting worse. the book will play without the app tracking where it is and next time I go to listen I'm 3 or 4 chapters behind where I left off. is there a paid better app on the way like most enshitification is going?

If you spend a credit before activating some of the promotions, even if it's been a day, you will not get credit for that. Because of that, i'm hesitant to ever consider the promotions from audible an awesome feature. for example, I used a credit two days ago. I do not have notifications set up on my phone. So, I had no idea that there was an offer that if I spend three credits, then I get a fifteen dollar reward. sure enough, when I activated it, there was no connection. DISAPPOINTED

I miss the days when you could decide for yourself what to listen to and when. No way to open your library first. Instead you're hit with ads and prompts right away. Especially annoying: multiple prompts to continue your subscription on both the home and discover screens. I wish pausing a subscription were as easy as starting one. The audiobook quality and selection are lovely. It's a shame they're hidden behind an app that just pushes a subscription.

Arbitrarily refuses to use the device's built in speaker, for no good reason. Forces you to connect to a bluetooth speaker. My watch has a speaker! Let me use it!

They still can't make the app *not* start itself at random. It's actually just sad at this point.

Canceled Membership over 2 times and they still have tried to charge my card multiple time. I canceled the membership AGAIN, saw the confirmation of cancelation for the 3rd time but they are still attempting to charge my card. This type of service is not surprising with how shady and dishonest Amazon is.

since this new update, my screen has frozen on the app, it mixes up titles and plays in the background even after I hit stop. It won't sync correctly if I listen in the car, so it is constantly starting on page one. absolutely fed up with it, it is unusable. I have never had an issue before.

I love the app however I tend to use it on my watch using the watch speaker while I'm at work and I don't always have access to Bluetooth speakers could you please update the app where you can choose the watch speaker instead of forcing the use of Bluetooth most apple and Samsung watches come with very good built in speakers I know YouTube music changed their app to use the watch speaker it would mean a lot thanks

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! but here at least they pretend to care. no I won't try to contact your support a third time via the app, they earned the above mentioned tag when I did exactly that - huge waste of time. basically, it feels wrong when most titles in "new releases included with your membership" cost a credit. the "recommended for you included with your membership" disappeared altogether, leaving me at the mercy of the hard to browse catalogue....

they removed books i paid for twice I've had this app since 2016 I remember in 2019 I went back to listen to a witcher book an it wasn't in my library with a few others they fix the issue but now in 2026 they did it again fix it but im still missing books

The hassle you have to go through just to find the cancel membership option is predatory and should be illegal.

They stole from me. I called multiple times, and they refused to refund my charge that over drew my bank account. this was after I canceled my service weeks earlier... I ended up spending $50 between bank fees and unrefunded charges, all while having nothing in my bank account due to financial difficulties...

I listen every day all day sometimes. But some of the readers voices really don't help sell the story. And yes most of them are free stories, but if it was using a different voice it would help. I also wish I could comment or review the book.

love this app but lately I've been dealing with it not keeping track of my progress with my books and it'll show its still playing when its not and won't go away unless I uninstall the app and reinstall, when I accept or decline the cookie preference my app always stops working properly

You asked me for a review. If I wanted to leave a review I would go out of my way to do so. Asking for ratings when I'm just trying to get to a book to listen to is not the way to do it, and always gets a 1.

do not get the premium i had a list of books I wanted to start reading and it doesnt include a single one and once I found out they refused to refund me

I am unable to download any audiobooks since the update. They just stay stuck on "Download pending". I've tried countless workarounds, but none have worked. Whenever I try to chat with support, I get a "There was an error with chat" message.

Recently However, the app keeps losing my place and resetting the book on me. it is quite frustrating when I get in the car and try and pick up where I left off only to have to then navigate to Where I Left Off While Driving. great way to get through a boring work day or long commute

Unfriendly user app. Titles get missing or get reseted. No way to contact customer support! This is the worst app to navigate I have ever used. There is no clear area where you see your purchased titles. The purchased titles, wishlist, and suggested titles by the app are all mixed together. Purchased titles get remowed. There is no way to contact support. When you go to "Contact us" it's just text for different type of troubleshooting, does not lead to contact, which is highly illegal in EU.

Slow recently. Takes 10 to 20 seconds each time now to have the play button appear any time I enter the app. Before that it has a spinning circle around the button, and says opening credits. Now hitting play on my headphones works maybe half the time and is delayed often. What update caused this and can we go back to before. almost year later and still busted.

l left a dismally honest review. However, after speaking to a few customer services agents who have been nothing short of magnificent. They've (I've) completely changed my view!! Thank you!!! 😊

Wouldn't keep it if i had an alternative. It's gotten glitchy so that it doesn't show where i am in a book, starts at the same place every time even though I'm way further along and doesn't let me get out of the book it's on.

Makes you pay for subscription to earn credits which do expire. Meaning you cannot always use the credits you have paid for. There is no way to contact a complaints team to resolve your issue, you can only speak to an AI bot who you can only ask pre-set questions to. Will be cancelling my subscription as soon as I have used whatever credits remain to me.

Intentionally convoluted processes to cancel subscriptions are always an automatic one star. Also the sleep timer works maybe 1/4 of the time. Re-installed on both of my devices, tried setting battery optimization, etc. still nothing.

Really love this app helps me get through work.But it is so hard to buy credits.I just wanna click a button or 5 to get the books.I want, but it's so complicated.I have to go through 18 different and Menus and still can't find it get out of there.I would turn it over , put five stars , and put a hundred stars possible

you lose points for the fact that I have come back multiple times to it autoplaying when it shouldn't. you didn't get full stars for being a functioning listening app. it should not decide to just play just cause it feels like it. there's no settings to combat this problem either as I've already gone through all of them multiple times. Really dumb I have to rewind and find my place in my book because it doesn't stop when it should have to begin with. Audio stopped don't just start just because.

I enjoy this app. It has an amazing selection of audiobooks. I've not had any trouble finding even one title or author. There are various options for membership and ways to get rewards, earn money, credits, etc. I'd highly recommend this app! Especially, if you enjoy books/reading. The best thing about this app is you don't have to stop reading in the middle of a really good book when you need to do something. Just put some ear buds in, phone in your pocket, and start what you to do! Enjoy!

I've had it for a decade, I have over 500 titles and over 2 years of listening time. it's meh.

I work where I'm able to use head phones and at roughly 6-7 hours of working with head phones in I chew through books just having a good ol time listening to some top quality narrators. It's a great app if you drive a lot or have a bit of free time everyday

USE ANYTHING BUT THIS APP!!! This is the only App I pay for, and it SUCKS!!! I am constantly having issues. customer service is NO help! I've spent hours with them and they are useless!! I have never had this many issues with free apps!

I absolutely despise having the Audible app. It automatically connected to my car and now it automatically plays everytime I'm in my car. It overrides anything else I'm listening to and if I turn it down, it turns back up to keep playing. There doesn't seem to be a place where I can disconnect my car Bluetooth so I'll cancel my subscription since I don't have any other devices to put audible on. Highly irritating, especially considering I have the car mode off.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE WITH THIS PREDATORY APP. DO NOT USE THE FREE TRIAL. I did this YEARS ago I am STILL GETTING CHARGE ATTEMPTS TO THIS DAY and yet there is no subscription in googleplay, on amazon, ANYWHERE. Somehow it has nonconsensual access to my paypal and they make it IMPOSSIBLE TO EMAIL THEM. The support workers have no clue what they're doing, you can't delete the app unless you delete your amazon account and REQUEST for them to delete your account, which I bet they won't to leech off you.
