Absolute best local playback service out there. there is zero comparison. thank you Tolriq! Support this app and support your artists!!
best music app for a true collectioner
hands down!! overall best streaming app for my offline music!!!.. each update only gets better and bigger. kudos to dev's amazing efforts put in display for longevity of the app.
If you are a offline music app user and bored with that 1 or 2 styles and what to try something new I think this app is for you
I bought this app expecting to share it via family plan and use it on my work device, but it is locked to the single purchasing account. I contacted the developer about this beforehand and was brushed off. After leaving an honest review about this limitation, the developer responded with an unhinged, profanity-laced personal attack. Free alternatives work just as well without the restrictions or toxic customer support. Look elsewhere.
the best app, better than musicolet and the other ramp or smtg.
Very good app to use with jellyfin. The price is correct and the user interface very comfortable.
No joke I would marry this app if possible
audiophile app, tons of settings.
The purchased app experience is great!
Lovely until it suddenly told me my free trial had expired . Where was it stated that this app had to be purchased again ?
The best music reproduced in the world
works great with jellyfin
Best balance of configurable and simple that I've seen so far. All distracting ui elements are removeable. Power users can change basically everything, regular users don't need to. Contains all essential features without any privacy / permission security concerns that I can find. I don't remember if it has paid features, but if it did, it was a one time payment that was well worth it.
Works well. Display customization is nice.
great app - fantastic functionality, super active development
unlimited crisp sound, make any device sound like top of the line device.
Amazing for accessing self hosted media. Very customizable, lots of nice features, and active development to address any issues.
Super duper good application and it does what I actually want 100%
great app. easy to use and fully customizable.
Good for self hosting and it has an offline cache so it will not consume internet data
Great music app. I have a very large library on SD card and most apps lag. This app handles it without issues. Fast, responsive, feature packed and sounds great. happy with my purchase
I'm still learning all the features the app has to offer but it is my favorite offline music app by far
Extremely well made
Looks very solid, braaavooo
great apk for listenig music in android auto
it can't even support basic UPNP/DLNA because that doesn't support the Metadata to build a database. I don't want a database built just to play a few songs.
Quite literally the ultimate music player to have when using media servers (1 time purchase too, screw subscriptions) customisable UI, good organisation, lrc support, just, good stuff.
Great player👍 keep it on
Loving so much the impressive customization as the same as audio playback 💜 Thanks to the devs for this impressive music player, I'll never regret about buying it. Thanks devs again and I hope more amazing features.
Having to pay sucks, but it's a great way to use a navidrome server on android. It's honestly not that expensive.
can't use it without paying
takes some getting use to, but it's a great app for your music library, on device or otherwise.
Costs less than a month of a music streaming service to be in full control of my music and have a well maintained feature rich app to use with it all. I am external grateful, thank you devs!
🫶🙏
Better user experience than Spotify/Apple/etc. Many customization options for both the UI and backend setup (can go with all the bells and whistles or lock it down for battery optimization as I've done). Especially with a meticulously cleaned library, this works flawlessly. The queue functionality is better than any music service I've used so far. In general an amazing app and well worth the one-time fee. Some settings were a bit hard to find but there's enough documentation online for tips.
it's not letting me heart, and it's giving me wrong information on last played.
Love it, wish I had discovered it earlier.
Perfect for my Jellyfin music library, super fast search and an incredible amount of options
Had worked great for over a year with my home server
Great for mobile bluetooth playback of my 3k+ flac files stored on the cloud. Works fine via cell data on the road. Android auto compatible. Have to disable VPN if not wired.
along with Navidrome I use Symfonium to enjoy my personal music library while on the road. Symfonium is very flexible allowing me to create playlists by decade, music types etc. I'm able to use Symfonium in Android Auto. I can play most of not all music formats.
Love the app! I'd love to see a "load server queue" / "save server queue" feature, even though I know it's hard to implement. Other players like Feishin already have it, and it would make switching devices feel much more like Spotify. It could be limited to servers that support it (e.g. OpenSubsonic/Navidrome), with a note that the saved queue only contains songs from that server.
hay un bug que impide que utilize el botón de saltar las canciones y tengo que usar el de el propio teléfono, o deslizar el cover art
Fab Player!
please make user ratings less of a pain to use! now its only available in smart playlists. would it be possible to make it available on all the playlists, not just smart ones?
The best Android app for self-hosted music collections that I've ever tried, and it's not even close. Lovely UI and very very stable.
literally the best self hosted music app <3
Superb- just what I was looking for. An attractive music player that connects to my cloud music as well and local files and it is highly customisable and provides hi res audio output with control over EQ. The smart play options are great too. I very much nearly mistakenly invented time travel 🤣 one thing id love to see is that, I have the app on both phone and tablet. it would be great for any downloaded audio on my phone would sync with the tablet. example a database match on start up & sync
the perfect offline music app WELL WORTH the one time license fee at minimum
This app changed my life. This is the hands-down the definitive music player for Android. Since Android has no native music player, I checked out both Pulsar and Symfonium, and while Pulsar is the best free music player available in the google play store, Symfonium is the best overall music player. It's rich with features and personalization, and using it inspired me to accurately tag album metadata just so I could take advantage of Symfonium's search capabilities and Smartlist feature.
Such a great thing!
you have no idea how long ive been waiting for a better alternative for plexamp! As much as i like plexamp it was lacking a lot of features i needed. this app is such a clear labor of love for audio enthusiasts and I'm glad i found it!
Great app with awesome UI and UX
Wonderful app. My own personal DSP.
I freakin' LOVE this app!! For streaming your own music collection, this app is top notch. Not a single thing I would change. 5 stars is not enough.
I really pay for apps, but this one was worth it.
I've only been using this app for a few days but have been very satisfied with everything. It connected to my subsonic server without issue and it's been perfectly stable. Paid for the full experience and don't regret it at all!!
Rated 1 because it's listed as free but it's not. Idc about the 2 word description, that doesn't show up in results. +Also 1 because the dev is getting personal. (I drive a 2003 Suzuki Swift if you are curious.) nah bro Reviews are others opinion about you and what you do here. If you don't like them, look for something else to do that lowers your frustrations. Good for your health. Touch grass or something.
Fantastic app for playing your own music library.
Probably the best music app you can get right now, don't even listen to the bad reviews, there are some learning curves to be climbed but trust me cuz it's so worth it.
Perfect music app for playing music stored locally on your device or streamed from your self hosted server. I love that it keeps stats on how many times you've listened to songs. It suggests random albums from your collection on the home page. Feels like Spotify for your music. The app is super customizable so you can make the player interface your own. It has all the audiophile options you can think of (eq, lossless audio files). This app is the complete package for playing your own music.
elite app to play your owned music
UI is built for touchscreen. Not suitable for Nvidia Shield TV, despite beautiful audio engine and fairly good integration with Plex Media Server. Symfonium buggy and troublesome, needing lots of customizations to make it work. The UI and Now Playing screens are downright ugly. Settings is an ENDLESS list of all sorts of customizable stuff. That basically means: poor design. I bought it to properly test it, and really regret all these downsides. But that audio engine is wonderful.
Excellent
How can someone even comprehend this ugly app 😲 without having a dirty mind 😕? Anyway, I’m not surprised after seeing the developer’s response 😨.
very easy to use
I love that this is a cheap one-time payment app that delivers good UI/UX, performance, and features that are often absent in other apps. Especially the configurable music caching for travel, very useful when the internet connection is intermittent.
I was having trouble. Turned out my car doesnt like flac. I changed the format by ripping my cds again to mp3. Seemed to help.
Whatever you are expecting from this app I promise you it will exceed those expectations. The developer does a fantastic job communicating with users. Fixes and features are implemented rapidly, and the app is rock solid.
Perfect app for self streaming music
Added ALL my music to a 1TB OneDrive account Connected OneDrive to Symfonium And then BOOM all my collection at my fingertip Tue app is so fluid, adapts with Android Auto and has just crazy features!
It's pretty good! As long as your files have accurate and consistent tagging it's great. For those operating Home cloud streaming, I find some issues here and there when talking to Navidrome on my home server, but as long as you're set up properly and have decent upload and straight forward DNS etc it's great. I think most of my issues are just my own idiocy.
amazing app. all music will be HD
Great app, but buggy and quite slow & cumbersome. Besides all that, it offers so much customization! That's amazing! But when I reach the end of a playlist, it's great that the next song automatically returns to the beginning of the same playlist, but the looping settings disappear even if I've saved the setting. Also the playlist widget is very important to me, could you please add it as soon as possible? And could you also add reverb or echo to the equalizer? Thank you! (#2 Best music app!♪)
best app
I'm moving away from paying to stream (rent) music and back to owning it again. Symfonium is a great client for connecting to my selfhosted navidrome. Well worth the cost!
😁
Very good app made with passion
Excellent app for managing your own music library.
definitely my favorite music app to use. it's everything I ever wanted
very nice
would give 6 stars if I could
This is exactly what I needed to make my stored music useful.
Latest version of the app, latest Android, Pixel 9 Pro XL - suddenly all casting options disappeared, while other apps cast normally as usual. Cache clean, restart of app and even phone did not help. ___ UPD: Problem fixed only with uninstalling and installing the app back, but all my settings and saved custom radio stations are now gone. I'm not comfortable with buying such an unreliable app, sorry.
Worth the price. Really customizable, i encourage to test the free trial if you're not sure. No complains.
I love this one
This is definitely worth the money. I get crash-free listening for my Navidrome libraries and everything is easy to find.
Holy moly what a smooth app
You really go out of your way to avoid displaying pricing. Why would I waste my time testing it if the price is high. I found a range from a couple of dollars to about 20$. That's a big range. If you start with deception you have zero credibility
Awesome UI And Smooth Play
Really nice to use and easy to configure to my liking. happily and quickly indexed over 10,000 .opus files.
so much customisation, upnp is great, great sounding, great looking.
Very customisable and perfect for using alongside my Jellyfin server :)
seriously the best music player i have ever used. the sheer amount of customization you can get with this app is staggering. its exactly what I was looking for as I migrate away from subscriptions. connects perfectly with my Plex library
Fantastic. Worth the price.
I found customisation way too complicated and counter-intuitive. I simply don't have time to blindly go through all the various (non-visual and undescribed) options trying to make it look how I want. Uninstalled before I even got to listen to it.
Fantastic getting off of a streaming platform for my own music and the app makes it easy. Looks great as well.
This is the only app I have found that can stream my large music collection from Google drive and it does so flawlessly. Also the ability to completely customize the interface is outstanding!
I needed a reliable and customizable music app for my Fiio player (M21), and Symfonium was, and still is months later, the best one I've ever tried. The extensive customizability allowed me to make the perfect interface for the smaller screen player. The auto mix and shuffle functions work great and I've never missed leaving Spotify - you can listen to your tracks in any way you want. Now a year later, I'm still using Symfonium every day - it's getting fantastic update, I couldn't be happier!
I have used thi app for more than a year now and was very satisfied with it. However, some annoying bugs have appeared recently. The app doesn't update imported playlists anymore. Album artwork isn't automatically searched and downloaded, despite functionality set on; you have to import it by first manually downloading the picture from the Internet to your phone. While it used to play all formats, for an unknown reason, it doesn't play mp4 files anymore.
I don't buy many apps or games on mobile, so I was on the fence about this one. Best $5 I ever spent. Amazing customization, and works as a fantastic front end for jellyfin or navidrome. Can get buggy at times, but I suspect every issue I've had is only because of server side issues. The sheer volume of options and toggles can be intimidating at first, but you get used to it after a while. Thanks for the amazing music app!
So far this app is doing exactly what I hoped for. Streams my music from my Google Drive to my Android Auto. minor hiccup with exporting playlists from Itunes. Once I edited out the path in the playlist, things are working great! Definitely worth the app fee!
The best music app and app in general that I have ever spent money on. Finally something that isn't a subscription and is a bargain price. I love being able to easily play my self hosted Jellyfin music library, don't know what I'd do without it. Thank you so much ☺️
Best Way To Use Emby for Music. I run an Emby server with all of my music, trying to get back to buying and owning music rather than paying a subscription. The Emby app does a passable job for music playback, but symfonium really stepped that up to the next level as a much more full featured music player. EDIT: Since writing this review there have been a few major updates to this app. Namely the new "profiles" functionality, enabling you to set it up for both audiobooks and music. It's great!
I installed Symfonium with the understanding that lossless playback is available, but that appears to only be true of downloaded albums. Is there a setting I'm overlooking? UPDATE: the issue seems to be isolated to when I use the app with my headphones. For some reason the sound quality is being reduced when I plug my headphones in using USB. I'll keep tinkering, but any tips would be appreciated!
This is absolutely the best music player app I've ever used. While it is paid, it's not expensive, and you would probably spend more if you used Spotify or something's subscription because this app is a 1 time purchase! and a really long free trial without payment info! This is the most useful purchase I've made in a mobile app.
I bought Symfonium music player nearly two years ago specifically because I needed a way to play my personal music collection stored on pCloud (which I also recommend). I find the app intuitive, clean, and efficient. I like the crossfade feature (for me this is an essential feature for any music player). Symfonium is worth every penny!
Updated this review to reiterate just how great this app is. Being able to stream from my server then fallback to cached songs when I'm offline works seamlessly. There are loads of customisations including custom EQ per bluetooth device to get the best sound regardless whether I'm using headphones, bookshelf speakers or Android Auto. Too much to list, give it a try and see for yourself!
Connecting to your external music sources is a breeze, and being able to play my FLAC library in the car has been really great. I also really like a lot of the customizability, but be aware that if you're using this for the first time, you will really benefit from going through the manual a bit to see what settings you may want to tweak for yourself. Really happy I don't have to rely on a third party for streaming music anymore.
I use Symphonium to connect to my Jellyfin server and stream while driving and working. Every version keeps getting better and better. you can customize almost every aspect of the app to your liking. It even integrates seamlessly with Android Auto so there are no hacky work arounds needed to use it on the go.
Symfonium is outstanding. It's the only app I've found that has a way to create playlists of albums, which would be worth the price alone. However, it's also one of the highest-quality Android apps I've ever used. Fantastic performance, rock-solid reliability, and the gold standard for interface customizability. In a world full of slow, buggy software that spies on its users, Symfonium is a shining reminder that better is possible. 10/10.
much better than most. I can't say all, because I haven't tried all of them not quite sure how to add missing album art and fix metadata, I'll figure it out. but this is way better than VLC, and Fiio music doesn't support music on a NAS. but this does, and scanning the music library is super fast. it did 23,000 tracks in less than an hour! so I was happy to pay for the full version.
Absolutely phenomenal app especially for self hosted music libraries. This is not a service like Spotify or YouTube music for those looking for a 1:1, rather the front end only. Amazing level of customization, great support for multiple servers and various types of music library servers, pitch/tempo control (my personal favorite) and way too much more to put in a single review. Hands down the best music player for Android, with great support from the devs!!
One of the best apps I've ever used. I'm sure there are free options that will more than get the job done, but Symfonium's one time payment lifetime subscription is just so worth it for the streamlined well-designed app experience you get. I basically have a Spotify that streams music from my local server which is exactly what I wanted. Great app with clearly a passionate, talented team of devs.
This app has so many features that make it feel like a mainstream music streaming platform. I use it with my jellyfin server and the ability to download certain songs is so nice, and they're not even files on my phone, just like a streaming platform. So worth the 7 dollars. Edit: id love to see lyric management, maybe even fetching. similar to feishin on PC. as its a pain to connect to my headless server to change lyrics
Great app for music and audiobooks. I've been using this to listen to music from my server and audiobooks stored on my phone for about 6 months now. The customization is great and it's simple enough for my family to use and understand. There are occasional bugs, but the developer is resposive and updates seem to address most of them. Well worth the money.
This is a great music player, and it works wonderfully with both Jellyfin and Subsonic servers. I bounced around a few other apps before finally setting up a home server rather than syncing files manually, and Symfonium has been a great client. Caching offline files is easy, the UI is pretty customizable, and everything works without issues. I'm sure it works great for local files too, but as a remote client it's excellent.
The greatest app ever created. There's 0 things I would change. Like seriously, please. Don't ever change. It's perfect. All my FLAC files streamed from the cloud flawlessly is something I never thought was possible. The interface is perfect. And the settings are amazing. All the options. The EQ, Auto EQ. It almost feels too good to be true. Great great great work. I'm in love!
Easily the best "spotify replacement" app on mobile and it isn't even really close. Has an overwhelming amount of customizability and features so you're really expected to do your own homework and read the docs. For what you get out of it in terms of features and support, the price is incredibly low.
This is by far the best music app I have ever used. Especially for FLAC files. And I have tried many. The customization is basically unlimited. The equalizer, none better. To all the people leaving 1 star reviews, give your head a shake. This is not an app that you just install and go. It does need configuration. You are just too lazy to do a deep dive into it. It is now connected to My Navidrome server and plays seamlessly between wifi and cell data. To the dev, Tolriq, keep up the great work!
I'm using this app for audio books and when it works, it's good! Randomly it will restart my book back to the very beginning and I'm struggling to figure out how to deal with this problem. I've looked thru the forums but the information provided there isn't terribly helpful as my menu options do not seem to be the same? As there really aren't many options available to listen to imported mp3 audio book files I'm really trying, I even went so far as to pay into it thinking that may help but nope.
The music geek's favorite Android music player! This is simply the best local/self-hosted music player I've ever used. You can use music directly stored on your phone and/or link up with basically any self-hosted music streaming service out there. Don't like the app? You just haven't found the right settings. You could spend hours tweaking and configuring everything to be just right, or you can hang with the sensible defaults. This is truly a complete package if you're trying to ditch Spotify
this works pretty well but the UI is very busy. Annoyance of mine are that you cannot rate a song when in Android Auto. You can only like it. there's also no fast forward by a few seconds, only skip. if the UI was cleaned up (on the phone itself) it would make it much more usable. doesn't need to be complicated. Have a mix, tracks, albums, genre, artist, maybe podcast or ebook category and that's it. I appreciate the app and it's support.
The best music player since Zune! Infinitely better than music through the Emby Android app. I don't know why smart playlists are so hard to implement, but here they are intuitive and work perfect. I also love the media queues that let me have multiple playlist save states - music for bedtime, favorites when driving, audio book, etc. and they all remember where I left off when I come back.
overall, a very good music player! it syncs and streams perfectly from my Navidrome server and the transcoding functionality is very useful for offline listening away from home. the only bug I've run into is that when I use it with Android Auto, notifications from some apps will cause the music to skip forward a few seconds each time. this has been an open issue on the forum for over a year now. other than that, it has been a fun way to enjoy my music library! highly recommend
Exactly what I needed when I said I wanted a Spotify like interface for my local library. Free trial gives you plenty of time to determine if you want to pay for the app which I was definitely happy to. The only thing I wish was different was that Symfonium had support for the Airbuds so my friends can see and react to what I'm listening to.
Really good app for my music server I like how you can choose the quality you are playing in and choose the quality of the downloaded music. It has a 7 day trial and after that it's only a $5 one time payment. I would 100% recommend it to anyone running a home server I personally use Navidrome for my music.
more than just a music player! Symfonium is by far the best app to ever find its way to my phone. worth. every. penny! not just highly customizable... but stable on my S23 Ultra! I love the ability to customize the home screen and now playing page, in addition every other page as well. I've spent hours changing colors, fonts, sizing and order of functions on each page. handles all the audio that I can throw at it from a very diverse music collection. I love Symfonium!
A great app for PCloud & music in general! Theres so much you can customize with this app it's just amazing the amount of options you have. I use this for my PCloud music files; syncing is easy and nice experience. I bought the lifetime membership. I think it would be really dope if the developers could add a feature that allows editing tags. I use Musicolet for editing my cloud music tags. Its very useful; i would love to do all editing on the Symfonium app. Please & Thanks if possible! 🙏🏿
Symfonium is without a doubt the best of its kind. After years of trying to find the right system for playing my local music library, finding this app has changed everything. The customization options can get overwhelming, but the fact you can make it look and feel exactly how you want it to if you take the time to do so is amazing. It supports every media provider I could ever want and allows me to rethink how I view music streaming.
Without a doubt the best music player I have tried (and I have tried *so many*). Beautiful, intuitive interface that's extremely customizable, support for pretty much any library source you could think of, and frequent, feature-rich updates that constantly improve the app beyond what I originally paid for. Update January 2026: Still the GOAT. Genuinely don't know why you would use anything else if you were wanting to stream from a home server of any kind.
Great app! This is by far the best music player out there! Has so many features and is the most customizable player on the market. Can listen to cloud music, local music, the list goes on. Works great, looks great, easy navigation and customize everything! Pay to support this dev, you won't regret it! High class work. This app deserves an award.
I don't casually purchase apps but this one was well worth the cost. its clear the cost of the app is due to the time and dedication it takes to polish an app to this level. There are free music players that function well but this one includes many features missing from all the free ones and makes the transition from spotify so much easier to make.
Update #3, 2+ years later: its only gotten better and better with each update. only issues are 3rd party cloud services (looking at you onedrive!) that once you have enough files to sync it just doesnt allow it to finish without "out of memory" error, so no fault of the dev. ive since stuck with using a couple different g drive accounts for my every growing collection and thus software has continued to be the end all be all of media players with cloud/remote folder compatibility.
Almost a year later, finally came back and bought it for myself. so many more & better features, dev has clearly been extremely busy. price is more than worth it, especially considering how it is actually buy once, and not some damned subscription. Works with so many servers, letting me try and be ready with how this works before hosting off navidrome. The frequent updates and clear posts are also a bonus giving a clear path for the future and new functionality. . . . Now just to up my jams
If you host your own music rather than using a streaming service, this is an incredibly good app. the interface customization alone is incredible. The only thing I would like to see is the ability to change what options show up in the long-press action on individual tracks. I'm never going to use half of them
This solved a very frustrating problem for me of not being able to cast music I paid for and downloaded (or ripped long ago from CDs I own) from my Android phone to my Sonos One speaker. I download music from all over and from Indie bands on sites like Bandcamp and I already own a lot of music files. I don't want to be tied down to any streaming services or have to pay for their subscriptions. This app is perfect for my needs and lets me be in control of my own music files.
By far the most complete and useful audio player for Android. I really didn't want to spend money on a media player, but after trialing it for just a couple of days, well before the trial period was over, I knew I was going to end up buying it anyway, so I just bought it. It has everything you could need. Streaming from personal media servers, full control over DSP and external DACs. The layout is comfortable and appealing. Absolutely love it!
A little bit of a learning curve, but that's only because there's an incredible amount of customization. synced to my Navidrome server in a snap and all the logins and stats are tracked and songs updated easily. The developer is communicative and the documentation is unmatched. The cost is a no-brainer compared to being chained to subscription services when you can own your own music and control the experience more than them. Thanks so much for your hard work on this!!! I even donated on top!
As of the latest patch, I think Symfonium is now THE top android music player. Extremely customizable, gorgeous UI. Supports streaming from Emby, Navidrome, Jellyfin or your offline storage. ReplayGain capable. Can handle a library of 100k+ tracks easily. The only cons is the app doesn't support tag editing so you either need a PC or another app for editing tags like Musicolet (another top tiered music player IMO). Super happy with my purchase. Symfonium is my daily diver now.
This is the greatest app ever made. It's extremely user-centric, the app is minimally-opinionated and the user has the option to change almost anything that they want to fine-tune it to the experience that they want. I use it with a navidrome server, and it supports at least most of the server features, and literally all of the features I want. It works great with android auto. It takes a little configuring to get it just right, but that's a huge pro and not a con to me. 11/10
By far the most feature-complete, customizable, and overall best music player for Android that I've found. I particularly like that it supports both local (on-device) and remote media collections, and that it has a mini waveform view of the currently-playing track. I get the impression that this software is a labor of love, and thus I was happy to support its developer with a purchase. Recommended!
I've tried pretty much every Android music player available and Symfonium is the best by far. The developer puts a lot of effort into making sure it's easy to use, but also has enough customization to satisfy the pickier types (me). My only real complaint is that I can't search through the settings, which makes jumping between menus for more esoteric options a hassle sometimes.
Genuinely the best music player app available on any platform I've ever used. My only three complaints are: 1) I wish there were a search bar for settings. 2) I wish I could use this on older versions of Android. Though I understand the limitations of working with older Android OS dev tools. 3) I wish it were available on more platforms! Again though, porting an app like this is difficult and tedious, so I understand.
Took some time to learn how to get this up and running, but after a day of messing with it I can safely say Symfonium is the best of its kind. The extensive customization options, the alternate server connections, and the cheap one-time fee are what I love most here. If I could add one thing, it would be a searchbar for the settings. Other than that, this is a perfect app.
Fantastic subsonic client with offline caching. Latest versions offer a ton of UI customization as well. Would recommend to anyone willing to take the time to set up a music server, but also works as a stand-alone offline player, if you don't want to take full advantage. UPDATE: still the best music app, I don't understand all the weirdos giving 1 star ratings because they're salty that it costs money. I choose to pay an extra donation monthly to support the dev. it's that good.
This is the perfect solution for your Jellyfin Personal Libraries!! It's amazing how many options this app has. The trial period was unexpectedly longer than it probably should've been, but much appreciated! I was convinced to pay the one-time fee and purchase this app almost immediately! A must have for anybody that has a personal audio collection. Cheers to the Devs of this well put together app! Please keep up the excellent work!!
Best Music App On ANY Platform! Does more than ANY other music app where you are in control of your music. Flawless sync with the cloud. Incredibly customizable. It does PLAYCOUNTS! No other app that I have seen does this! Playlists. Smart Playlists. Ratings. I have over 80,000 songs so I am a huge music buff and THIS is hands down the best app for handling YOUR music. Small wish...let me edit Metadata to clean up some stuff but overall you won't find better.
App is perfect. It has all the functions that you would need for optimal music listening. Great sorting features, queues, ability to speed up or slow down your songs, not filled with ads, etc... I would definitely recommend it over any other app out there. An added bonus: The developer is a really nice guy as well. If you have any issues you can contact them and usually get a response in 5-10 minutes (In my own experience).
Hands down: The BEST Music player on android OMG. I tried so many apps. I can find enough reasons to dislike almost every other music app on here, I have tried so many. Symfonium is clean, lots of features, easy to navigate, plus extra stuff like changing speed and tone on the fly. It's also not full of ads. Best music player I could find across 10+ years.
This app has a better design than many other Android music players. The syncing from a Subsonic (Navidrome) server works great; I love that it can keep the entire library cached & synced locally. The interface is incredibly customizable, right down to the category buttons on the main navigation bar. There are some small UX hiccups here & there, such as a lack of error messages when trying to play FLAC files with bad checksums; I also wish I could adjust the side padding in the grid views.
this is by far the best music player app that I have used! it's a one time charge I will say that to keep using it but it's worth it! especially for those that have downloaded music on their devices for offline play. we can't always be tethered to the Internet especially when traveling, so that makes streaming services unavailable. this is the answer to those woes. great if you have a large collection of music.
Amazing app. My current setup is to just rip CDs to flac and auto sync to my phone with syncthing. This plays the local files fine. You can also setup a server and add to the app to stream. Recently learned about AutoEQ and it really boosted the sound quality of my headphones on my Linux system. So I was delighted to see AutoEQ built into this player. Really cool. Solid experience and worth paying for. Crazy the price was so low considering all of the features included.
I've been using the trial for nearly a week and I gotta say that this is hands down the best music application for your own personal music you have on your computer, phone, or server. i believe a full license (forever I think too) cost somewhere in the realm of 5 dollars and once the trial is done, I'm going to absolutely buy it and recommend my friends to get it too, which is weird because I'm going to IRL tell them about it and show them. There are so many neat, nifty, and helpful features.
I put this app aside while trying others for my Subsonic server because I was trying to prefer open source, but there's no contest, this is the definitive app for your music server. I bought it before even finishing the trial! Suports casting, WearOS, Android Auto, offline download... I could go on. The others don't hold a candle. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
this is the best frontend for music I've found personally.. no music client is perfect, especially when you're into the weeds on audio, software or both, but I've tried alot, and this, in combination with my selfhosted music on the backend, feels the most intuitive, has the most granular control, and the most extensive set of configurations. I like it alot. also the developer (I think it's only one) seems responsive and seem like they actually care about making it great.
Was looking for a good client to start using for my jellyfin hosted music files. I wanted it to be pretty, modern UI, something easy to use coming from YouTube music and this checked it all. I've had to do a little troubleshooting to deal with music not fully loading in while streaming but with some adjustments to cache settings it seems to be working much better now. The developer is highly active on all sites including Reddit and the official forum. Super happy to support this app developer.
Hands down, the best audio player on Android. Symfonium is incredibly versatile while remaining easy to use. The amount of options available can be overwhelming at first glance, but it truly allows you to have a music player that does exactly what you want it to. The EQ is amazing and has configurations for every major speaker/headphone.
THE music app for audio power users. Offers an incredible array of EQ options - more than I've ever seen for an Android music app. Other important (to me) features include a full set of casting options, cloud storage integration with Google Drive and One Drive, and a ridiculously customizable interface. There are also some cool auto-mix functions that work pretty well. In particular, the "decade" mix is great for someone who has a library of music spanning the 1920s to the 2020s.
Amazing. Symfonium is the ultimate player for audiophiles. Smooth, powerful, no ads, no tracking, with support for multiple servers and custom themes. Everything feels intentional and well-crafted. You can tell it was made by someone who truly loves music and tech. Easily one of the best apps out there.
Audiophiles unite! This is the best Android app for playing your Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound files without them being down mixed. Although the down mixing is great when I'm on mobile. I no longer need to keep two separate libraries. I use jellyfin as the server because Plex will down mix any kind of kind of thing that is marked as music to stereo.
It works well but navigation is miserable. When navigating, the selections along the side of the screen are "fine" but they are not easily navigated while driving. My Symfonium is installed on my car's head-unit so typing in the name of the artist or song is undeniably dangerous to say the last. It would be helpful if there was a path to play a directory (mine streams from a server). Most of the music I have access to are terribly tagged so a directory option would be far easier to play.
I've used a lot of MP3 players in the past because I prefer to download my music rather than pay for a subscription. This is just a one-time purchase and it's by FAR the best app I've ever used. You get a free trial too so there's no harm in giving it a shot, and if you're like me, you'll get it and never look back. I wish there were a few more features for the watch but other than that it's spectacular. The customization is practically limitless too. 11/10
I still like to buy full albums and I used to use Amazon Music when I could upload what I had and buy what's on there. Now it's a nightmare to use and wouldn't let me listen to things I owned! I had enough and was going to get a DAC player until I found this app. I only have good things to say about it. The interface is great, adding my music library is super simple. I'm very grateful this exists. $5 seems like a steal! Thank you Symfonium dev team!
In order to ditch Spotify/YouTube Music, I set up a personal Navidrome server and gave this app a try, and it has worked great so far! The app has many great features like offline caching and rule-based playlists. For the price of a coffee (and <40 hours setting up Navidrome), I have my own evolving personal music library on my phone instead of paying ~$120/year for cloud music streaming services (which can now be spent buying music to more directly support artists I follow).
I rarely rate apps, so this review is important to me. This music player is fantastic! I found it recommended on a Jellyfin forum. The design and user interface are great, making navigation easy. There are numerous features, which can be overwhelming, but there's something for everyone. It motivated me to find my old MP3s and buy new music, plus I'm exploring online radios. Given its capabilities, the price is worth it.
"Offline cache and download" is kinda cumbersome. I like to download my music for offline playback but wish this was more simple/intuitive. I'd like one click download for all the "top tracks" from an artist, but honestly can't figure out how to do it in this app. Your app seems focused on power users, which is awesome, but maybe some things could be dumbed down? Keep up the great work
It seems every other music player app has some notable flaw. Most don't seem to support year tags on FLAC files, some don't have hotlinks to jump to artists or albums, some fail to load album art for certain albums, and good luck finding one that sorts your music by folder. Well, guess what? Symfonium has all of what others lack, while also having a pleasing interface! On top of that, it even supports a wide variety of media servers! What's not to love? Trial it and you'll buy it for sure!
Best Android music player available. Prefect for the largest personal library with absolute control over navigation layout and options. This control also makes it EXCELLENT FOR A CHILDS DEVICE. You can setup the navigation to be super simple with just a couple choices, and secure the settings with a pin. No folders with options to delete files -- navigation any child could operate safely. I tried at least 20 local music playing apps for my young kids new phones and this is the only app like it.
It's obvious that this man knows what he wanted in a music player. This app has it all. Really. He didn't just set out to write a random music app it's obvious that he's a user himself. It's the music app I've always wanted. You really do wish it was available on other platforms (it's not that easy I know, this isn't a request). Anyways, Thank you!
I've tried most music players. I paid for and used blackplayer ex for a while because it was better than the competition. This app has support for everything I've been wanting out of blackplayer. A smooth casting experience, support for half-star ratings, a waveform preview of songs, and Bluetooth autostart that isn't broken. This is the creme of the crop for customizability and feature set.
Very nice and customizable music player, that connect to lots of music providers. Including (Jellyfin, Subsonic, and personal cloud storage like OneDrive, and Google drive). It can connect to all these at one time including on device storage. This App has a paid version that you have to get after trying it for a week or two, but it only a one time payment that is about $6. I would highly recommend this app especially if you need to connect to cloud storage or a music provider that it supports.
I never leave reviews, but for Symfonium I'll make an exception. This app is phenomenal in the number of sources it supports and the mind-boggling level of customization. There are also frequent and significant updates which is more than I can say for my previous music app. Keep up the great work.
In 2024 I this is the best music player app available. It's very customizable, it plays from many sources (local, Plex, Dropbox, etc), and it sounds good. Perhaps the best feature is the responsive dev and small but active community forum. This is the only app that works on all my use cases - large libraries locally stored on DAPs, streaming from Dropbox/Plex, and reading files from an external USB drive. It's been a little on the initial library scan, but once scanned, it's solid.
Decent enough music player with a ton of options and customization. Missing some features that I came to depend on in my longtime favorite player and read in the FAQ that they wouldn't be coming to Symfonium. I could live with the extra steps to change/update tags, but I didn't even have the app installed a day when it said that my pro license was invalid and wanted me to repurchase it. Tried to refresh the license, removed and reinstalled the app, same issue. Refund denied. Such is life.
The best subsonic and offline music experience. I have a navidrome server and sometimes use it offline and it's amazing. I love features and customization and it has so many options and I had so much fun trying everything and setting it up. The free trial is super nice and it's not a subscription! I've tried a lot of offline and subsonic music apps but nothing really compared to this one. I like is the UI is nice and adjustable and can even change colors can change depending on the songs color.
Amazing. Good heavens. I needed a way to access my jellyfin music and this app kills it. The only issue I have is that sometimes I will be on VPN connecting to my server steaming music and if I skip and come back or resume after a long time it will play part of a song before either starting over or moving on. I fixed it by lowering the cache option. Not ideal but it works. Oh it works. Simply the best android music player on the market, money well spent.
When I had originally checked out Symfonium last year, there was an odd incompatibility between it and my vehicle regarding album art over Bluetooth. The author makes frequent updates though, and when I checked again this year it all worked perfectly. Love the initial trial and the single-day trial that let me quickly test my setup to make sure it worked. Also love the caching of various queues that just works through multiple sessions. This is the best player for self-hosted audio.
I don't review apps. But I had to make an exception for Symfonium. This is absolutely hands down the best music player on the Play Store. I've been using another player for almost 10 years & then Symfonium came into my life. I made the switch and don't regret it once. It's beautiful, highly customizable, & intuitive. There's so many things you can tweak, right down to how it looks on Android Auto. This is the perfect music player IMO. Nothing will or probably will ever come close.
Great app. I'm using it with my library hosted on Navidrome, and it was very plug and play. The only complaint is there is a truly ludicrous amount of customization, meaning it can take a bit of jumping in and out of settings to get everything dialed how you want it. Still WAY better than Spotify's no customization and the shuffle actually works so I'm happy.
Symfonium, my new favorite music app, was a download decision based on its compatibility with Android Auto - and it didn't disappoint! The constraints of thumbdrive space for my USB music ports are history. Now, a 512 GB microSD card in my phone grants me access to my entire digital music collection in my car. No more swapping thumbdrives, and with Android Auto integration, there's no need to fiddle with my phone. It's a true blessing for a music lover like me.
Excellent client for Navidrome servers with almost every feature you could ask for, however, the "top tracks" feature doesn't show the most streamed tracks from an artist, even though I have the spotify integration set up on my ND server, but instead they get displayed alphabetically with no way to sort by the play count based on spotifys integration with ND, whereas other clients handle this properly. Edit: Fair enough, phoning home to Spotify can have offline issues. Updated to 5/5.
Easily the best Subsonic client I have tried. The UI is extremely snappy and well designed, and everything can be configured exactly how I want without being overwhelming. The price is honestly too low for what is being offered here; I would strongly suggest chipping in a bit extra on the developer's Ko-fi if you find this app to be as useful as I did.
Fantastic media player for Jellyfin! Been using this app for a few months now with nearly no complaints. One thing I would like to see added is something like the "Songs" buttons in Android Auto, but that sticks to a specific genre. I like listening to random songs, but jumping from the Beatles to Killswitch Engage throws me off. Haha
Fantastic music player app. I have purchased and/or used poweramp, USB audio player pro, foobar, plexamp, and all streaming platforms. I'm sticking with this one. It connects to my Plex server, with offline downloads, for one price. Plus, you can download from your server to your internal storage. AND it has multiple queues (amazing), auto device eq, savable custom EQ profiles, lyrics and a ton of customization options. Only thing that could make this better is if it had a full windows version!
I have used this app off and on for over a year. It is a serious app for people who are hardcore listeners of music. My server has almost 8 terabytes of music on it from over twenty five years of collecting music. I use the old subsonic server that is unfortunately no longer supported by the developer. This app is the only one left that is still updated. You can run many servers off of this besides Subsonic and I would highly recommend it.
I can not overstate how perfect this app is for serious listeners. I use it both to stream music from my personal server and listen to music saved locally on my device. When I want to listen to something on my server when I'm offline, the app allows me to download it. You are able to filter your library by different content sources, offline availability, and really anything else one can imagine. The endless customization options make it the be-all-end-all music player.
Excellent application and much better than the native Emby one. 4.5 stars (which unfortunately I can only give 4). My only two gripes I have that prevent a full 5 stars is lack of a song list with A-Z in Android Auto, and Emby playlist auto-import. Edit: Now 5 stars. Found out importing the initial playlists as read only allows auto-sync! For AA song issue, it's not Google best practice, so not really developer's fault. Workaround is voice (Assistant).
You have music saved locally to your phone? This app plays it. It probably plays things that aren't music too. Very clean presentation. No crashes like another popular player I know. Full equalizer. It does a whole bunch of other stuff too that I haven't even used nor understand because I haven't had to because it's so easy to just make it play my music which is all I want.
Amazing! I was using Finamp before but it was missing a lot of features and looked kinda mediocre. This app has more features than I would want, looks good, and is really customizable! It found my Jellyfin server right away so I didn't have to have to get my ip. It also has some nice eq features. Works great on my Hiby R6 III. High res works with the balanced output and unlike most music streaming services not only can I download entire albums but entire discographies! 🥳🥳🥳
Finally! I've found something that allows me to access my self hosted music offline and on Android Auto! There are other options out there but this one works best by far. It integrates with Jellyfin quite well and I can't speak to the other options. The interface for this application is so customizable as well and you can choose what shows up where to make it much easier to navigate to what you want! If I could rate it more than 5 stars, I would! Bought the license as soon as I tested everything
The most actively developed and featureful audio app I can remember using. You'll need to grab a cup of coffee or two and poke around with all the various UI and DSP settings, among other things. As a Navidrome client, it's hands down the very best I've found for Android after years of looking. Some interface choices are a bit opinionated, but given that almost all other clients are only very slightly different from each other (and not nearly as good) I think that's fine.
Currently best in class if you're selfhosting. Has all the 'essential' features that other competent apps always seem to just be missing one or two of. Also has a clever filtering system & integrates jellyfin/sonic servers perfectly, and actually makes browsing by artist and tags etc useful and pleasant. Worth the admission price over the various 'just ok' options out there. Only issue I have with it is playback sometimes gets stuck. It'll work again on force stopping the app, but yea.
After the utter disappointment of a time I had with Plexamp, Symfonium was a god send. Every issue I had with Plexamp is just not an issue in this. My only two complaints are 1. Downloading music doesn't have the option to convert it to a lower bitrate and 2. it doesn't appear that playlists and ratings transfer over to my Plex server, though that could be because I often times use the app offline.
I use with Navidrome at the moment. Edited to add, it syncs really well -- I thought it wasn't syncing favorites but this was my error. I *really* like the songmix feature and would like to see that develop more. Use it at home and on the road. Paid for the app and really quite like it. I lately get a lot of errors about file type not supported and songs that don't play all the way through. I need to do some investigating because it might be my library having issues.
Only thing I needed but this app didn't have that was the ability to resume the song from where you left off. Please add it. Edit: I think you misunderstood what I said. I mean it doesn't remember to which point I listened to a file after I open other song and get back to the first one. If there is such an option I should turn on in the settings, let me know. (Other feature request: search in the settings!!!)
Simply the best music player I have used to date. I have a somewhat large audio collection 11+ terabytes served up a few ways. Every audio player I tried had issues managing this. iOS apps, windows desktop apps, Linux desktop apps. Symfonium was the first to provide an extremely smooth and efficient streaming experience. It's blazing fast. Purchased pro within the first 15 minutes of use. 😎
Gotta say I'm impressed. Well done app, professional & solid so far. I've been looking for an app like this, similar to Plexamp but for Emby. Caching, quick song/album mixes, even supports Subsonic API (says it's in beta though it seems to work great). Worth the small amount of money for using past the free trial. Kudos to Symfonium team. App like this has been a long time coming. Keep up the good work.
