Kinda boring I thought it was a continuous story. However it's alright.

I know it's a temporary Halloween event, but can't you add some way to skip it for the people who don't want to participate, since most of it appears to be on Discord and not through the app? I keep clicking "do not show again" on the pop ups but every day they reappear. otherwise, the game is as enjoyable as it was years ago when I first played it.

An amazing story, laid out slowly through multiple replays on different routes. and having the real world time effect what goes on is nothing like any other game I've play.

I love this game so much; every character, every route, every image, sound, music and chat. MM is one of the best otome games ever, no matter how much time passes, and it will always have a place in my heart. (Edit: the review may look like it's from 2026. I first wrote it back in 2018.)

The story telling is amazing in the game. It's much more than a simple dating simulator and all the characters have so much depth. I also appreciate how it's not pay to win like many of these games- all options are free and the in-game currency is constantly given

It was my first ever otome game. No matter where I go, I return to it. The story is beautiful. The characters are well designed. The music is beautiful, and the concept is unique.

Honestly, the game is good and all its really comforting to play but i suggest it might be better if you add a feature where we are able to see the hearts of each characters for us to know wether we might need to increase the love for a certain character or not. Because there are times where we get indecisive with the choices that may end up choosing the bad ones and costing us to do the story all over again.

This game will always have a special place in my heart, I played the base game (no extra purchased packs or currency) quite a few years back (almost 10 years now, I was 13 in middle school 🤣) and it not only got me through a really hard time to have something so involved to get lost in but I enjoyed it so much that I cosplayed as Zen at one point! I absolutely adore this game and likely always will 🫶

the increase of hourglass needed to unlock contents is low-key killing this game. i wouldn't mind if you introduce a monthly pass. increasing the number of hourglass for each content + increasing the prices of hourglass pack is not the solution.

I remember playing this game back during my vacation in 2017. It was such a fun experience—I used to stay up all night just to get calls from a fictional man lmfao. All of the characters have well-built stories and amazing storylines with so much potential. I definitely recommend playing this game!

I'm changing to 1 star. I haven't played in years and found my account banned. I paid for all my hourglasses and bought the RFA VIP and Special Believer packs. Not cool! Edit: Thank you Cheritz for fixing the issue. Back to 5 stars, this game is so much fun! The dialogue is phenomenal!

Tbh I have always wanted cute dating simulator game. The ones I have tried, the love interest are pushy and controlling.It creeps me out. Even when they specify that the woman is strong character, they still force it. but this game doesn't:) My only nitpicking is that I didn't like the period joke " are you on your period " when one guy asked another cuz he got angry, it is outdated. But other than that I like it and they also donate to organizations one of them for SA victims. so I recommend!

I used to love this game but as of late it cannot load without VPN. I honestly don't know why, it started from september ninth I think. From the update for V's birthday the game could not work without VPN, it's very inconvenient especially when you're supposed to log in every three to five hours. Pls help :(

It's my favorite game. I have been so emotionally invested in this game that I cried many times over the characters fate. The story is amazing and the best part is you don't just sit around reading the story you actively get to make all the decisions that lead to different endings. So every response you give matters and will decide the fate of the characters. You can also play it completely free if you are patient enough to collect hourglasses. Good,normal,bad all endings are worth playing.

Randomly made to download data which wasn't working so I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Still wouldn't download properly but I just got it to work and now when I log back in my game progress is gone. How nonsensical is that? If I'm signed in my current route should still be there! Wasting my time and hourglasses.

I've been playing this game since 2021 and I keep on returning in to it every now and then. dare I say Mystic Messenger is the best otome game ever? the gameplay is genius, the story has many layers to it and the characters are really well-written. I wish the developers would update the in-game arts and do some kind of reboot, i understand how the nostalgia works but I think Mystic messenger can really benefit from getting new players invested.

I played this game YEARS ago and the hype had died down but Its still a great game honestly. The message type gameplay is especially interesting because it helps make this seem more realistic u know? the parts which actually looked like a visual novel were not so appealing for me but the character interactions, everyone's chemistry and relatively decent plot made me especially fond of it.

I've been seeing this game on recommendation for years. Until i decided to try, and it's been a week since I've been playing this and there were no romance scenes. Plus just today randomly it showed me bad ending and made me restart the whole game. I wasted a week playing this just to get a bad ending for no reason at all..?. Not worth it at all.

Exploitative is the word. i get it you pay to play, but the hour glass plus longwinded chats where players seem like a third wheel and cant skip the chats is torcher!.. also. i paid twice to get hour glasses, 2000 of them..and still couldnt complete two different routes..Vs route, 550 to unlock plus 150 hour glasses to unlock the story, each chapter! also..why is every character addicted to something and why are we giving them low key therapy or stroking their ego to get the good ending =_=

Hi! The game is great. But I've been having trouble with my phone's time settings. In my country, the time stopped changing for summer since last year, even the phone's settings show the wrong time for my country, it's an hour ahead. I have to correct it manually, and the game won't let me play in my time zone, so I have to change it every time I want to play.

I started playing by 2024 January, well, let me tell you that it really is a good experience. We don't have mini games, but there are no ads and the story is simply incredible, with charming characters (not yoosung), interesting routes (not yoosung) and handsome people! (not yoosung). I highly recommend it!!! obviously the hourglasses will take you a lot of effort to get, but believe me, it's worth it. So give it a chance! Mystic Messenger is waiting for you (my favorite is Jumin!!!)

It is a fun game. A classic, and definitely worth trying out. But it is hell if you want to try it f2p. They have nerfed every way to farm hourglasses (the currency needed to progress through further routes/learn more about the story), and you are not allowed to timeskip by modifying your clock or anything without risking a ban, so you are limited by the real life days it takes to earn hearts and hourglasses. I'd recommend The Arcana instead, for a story romance game. Less stressful.

I miss it so much and I do not know HOW I stayed up for these chat rooms as an adolescent 😭 Trust me when I say I'll even dm the company, can there be an update for ones who just want to reminisce on the game and get obsessed with the story all over again?!? I love the idea of timed chat rooms but at the age of 27, jobs and sleeping, a girl just really wants to do down memory lane. update with no times?

The best otome I ever played. the visuals now are rusty, but the experience is exquisite, it really plays with your mind, you can actually feel "butterflys in your stomach" in a route, although the visuals fall short in comparison to new games the richness of the story and that it has multiple branches for endings is something I value more than Anything, a must play.

Honestly still as amazing as I remembered it<33 I guess except for the fact farming has more labor now, and everything costs more hourglass, it's fine. Still a GOATED game despite all these years. Hell, it'd be more awesome to have more games like these. The immersive part may not be for everyone that are busy, but I promise you the story's rewarding<33 depends on you

Well this game basically never allowed me to sleep for two weeks. I love the real time. I just wish it was a option to play without such late night calls. I think it is amazing and realistic, but would love if you could program the calls to text and write you when you had free time through out the day. Or notifications when there was a call or message, since unless the app is open you can not. You have to answer within that hour or the call within the moment. I just am sad

I like the concept of the game. However if you have to do things like sleep or work, your forced into spending money to enjoy the full story. If it wasn't for that I would continue the game, but I'm uninstalling.

Update: Cheritz eventually fixed the issue and apologized, so I'm updating my review. However, the only reason I recovered my account was because I still had an old purchase receipt in my email. If I had deleted it—as many people do when cleaning their inbox—I may have permanently lost access to an account containing years of progress and purchased Hourglasses. I appreciate the resolution, but I still believe the account recovery process could be improved.

Honestly, one of the worst games. Waiting a whole week just to collect hourglasses and still not getting enough is frustrating. It wasted my time, and in the end I deleted it. Not worth it.

The dialogue needs a lot of work--it's SO TEDIOUS!!! The characters are very immature and their responses are all over the place. The story makes ZERO sense and the player goes in completely blind as to what's going on (and not in a mysterious, interesting way). The available choices and overall setup premise is incredibly, recklessly inane.

I LOVE THE STORY, but this is NOT F2P friendly. Theres a cap on how many hourglasses (ingame currency) you can get, and the price to unlock Deepstory and others are INCREDIBLY HIGH for an F2P player. Give us a romantic Jaehee route and I'll continue to grind the game no matter the price.

My one complaint is that on Day 1, depending on what (real life) time you begin to play, you get a delayed bad ending on day four. Meaning you've wasted four (real life!) days. The game currency is very affordable, and a portion of the money you spend is donated to charity, which was a pleasant and fitting surprise :)

15 hg for one chat missed? XD edit 2026: It’s now 10 hourglasses to unlock missed chats, which makes the game much more manageable than before. I still love the real-time system, but after playing The Ssum it made me think about something that could improve the experience: a sleep clock. If players could set their usual sleeping hours, chats during that time wouldn’t count as critical missed chats. It always feels a bit strange having to pay hourglasses just because you were sleeping.

Helped me get through some of the darkest times in my life when I was younger!

This game has always been very close to my heart and will forever be for how amazing the characters and the story is.
