This app was excellent before it moved to a subscription model. Now, it's an ever-increasing cash grab. Apparently, my Pro purchase wasn't enough for them. Not cool.

I've been using this app for many years and glad to see development has picked up again over the past couple of years. Well thought out, customizable, can generate reports, and easily moved to a new phone. Highly recommended for tracking car data. ❌ Cons: none

Very simple, very useful. and no ads. for now. edit July 2026 older design was better. now is confusing, among these, I bought the pro version a few years ago and now does not recognize me, lowering to 3 stars because it's more difficult to use

USED to b an excellent app..... That being said, it is so completely screwed I cannot find any maintenance records that I did "manage" to input a month ago. Your suggestion to "switch to classic mode "might" be helpful.... If only i could a way to do that. No indications ANYWHERE that I can find allows me to "choose a mode". I Want to track maintenance, and fuel consumption/efficiency like I have since 2019. Your Dropbox backup, and ESPECIALLY restore is a JOKE. I KNOW you can do better!!!

I love mycars, bought the pro version and used it for 10+ years. However, this new update is lacking, a step backwards. I kept a copy of the old version 2.15.10 as it is a lot better and simpler than the new version. I tried to set up the new version in the classic theme, but its still lacking. Example, the data screen in the old version is fully detailed with mileage. dates. costs, notes. Not so on the new version. I still appreciate the devolopers efforts.

Update: New "upgrades" have broken the charts so they now show wrong info. The user interface is less clear and harder to read. I wish I could back out the upgrades and return to the previous version. "Classic" view doesn't get it. Please put it back as it was. Restored to 2.16.0. Original: This app lets you track mileage, services done on the car, and best of all, allows you to export and import data without needing to buy the full version. A very useful app for tracking your car expenses.

I've used this app to keep track of my DIY service records for years. This new update and GUI is trash. All my old data is missing or not displayed correctly. You guys ruined a simple app that worked.

After the facelift, I hate this app. UI is so counterintuitive. During the upgrade, some data was lost. I did backup but importing it didn't help. It was easy to see whatever data I needed and now it is the total opposite ...

This used to be a simple App and was great. They just reformatted the App and it's terrible. Hate this App now.

4/12/2016: After recent 2 updates, most of the gas stations are lost.

I like the old design more, in the area of ease of use, data display navigation, and data entry. Edit: In some region, fuel price per litre is seldom fluctuate. Is there a way to set a default value for the price per litre? to skip the hassle to key in the fuel price every time adding data entry.

That's dirty. I can't use Google as a cloud unless I pay you more. Not a one time fee, a subscription. You fool. We are sick of subscriptions and that was the main reason I bought your app years ago. Your choice of direction saddens me. You can keep your Pro+ because you know what comes next? Pro+ Gold and then Pro+ Ultimate. Not playing this game. I'm staying on 2.16.6. Beware ungraders, app has corrupted all my fuel price data, removed all my filling stations, and altered all my MPG numbers.

just got the update. i am a long time user. What I liked about the previous interface was its compactness and efficiency. The update appears to have been designed for a tablet or a desktop. please give me back the previous interface. This update ruins what worked very well.

I've used this app for in excess of 10 years and paid for the Pro version. The Devs have now decided to jump on the subscription bandwagon which is a modern evil. I know my pro purchase is still present on the new app but I will not support any company that moves to a subscription model in any form for something that is not a service and should be a purchase, a one time payment only. Pure greed, nothing more. I'm now moving to fillup, an open source and free alternative with no subscriptions!

I used to love this app, unfortunately the new update has (at this stage) not been great. Might look nicer, but more clicks required to achieve the same as before. I also did the fuel station migration (288 stations) and all 657 of my existing/past refuels no longer show where I filled up ☹️. Luckily I had a backup so restored that. Would be good to be able to dismiss the "Import from Refuels" banner from the data page. Downgraded from 5⭐ to 3⭐. Hopefully there are improvements to come.

I like it for keeping track of maintenance expenses. But I wish there was a search function. It's cumbersome to find older records to see if a particular maintenance item has been performed. update 18 Mar 2026: New search is nice. however, my existing EV fueling data was corrupted when opening the new version. new fueling data (kwh added and cost per kwh) enters and saves correctly, but all my old data is hosed.

I've been using this app for years and loved it. I just got the latest update and it's bad. It makes the app harder to use and adds unnecessary clicks. I used to be able to easily switch vehicles through a simple pull down menu, now I have to get the menu, deselect the desired vehicle, select a new one, scroll, click apply.

So now I'm supposed to 'upgrade' an app I've paid for previously into an ongoing monthly subscription? It just calculates my MPG for my car. Why would I pay £10 or more EVERY YEAR for that? I don't like the new UI either. So I guess I'm now looking for a replacement.

This App has been great for years. Recent update has completely changed the look of the App and not for the better. It is now more difficult to use and displays unwarranted alerts for vehicle servicing inconsistent with factory schedules. There appear to be multiple levels of membership now instead of just paying for the App in Pro version as I did some time ago. The positive from this update is the ability to save vehicle data to a PDF. This is a massive improvement over the previous version.

Another update - I already didMigrate fuel stations as suggested, it did nothing. Not happy... Update: Changing my rating to 4 stars. The app just updated to the new design - I'm not impressed with the new look. More importantly, all my records no longer show where I filled up. They just say 'Fuel station'. Why couldn't the place be imported with all the other info? Excellent app. I bought a different app for this purpose, then found this, so I quit using the one I paid for. This one is great.

Update² (Jan2026): Downloaded to 4* as the Dropbox sync has been failing for the last 6 months and I've had no response from them! Update¹: Best there is and been using for 3 years now. Great app. Updated regularly. Simple to use but feature rich. Paid for Pro key would have been rude not to with such a useful app.

Service category not being saved after last update

Coming back to add in some details on why I put this as a 5* review a long time ago. UI isn't pretty but it's 100% functional. I've been using this for years, it's rock solid, easy to back up and restore across phones, tracks everything I need and more than I knew I initially wanted but now use. At first only used it for MPG tracking; developed into tracking all maintenance, service, part numbers for recurring stuff, and I can compare cost/mile across several vehicles. Amazing, bought pro.

Does everything I expect but it is a bit difficult to find how to do some things. Just a bit "clunky" but effective.

Fantastic app. I've been using it for I don't remember how many years - 10? 12? - and it stores all the data about multiple cars I need. I can see how mileage goes up or down, I used it to see how old my tires were and how much mileage I have on them. The author is very supportive, and the backup feature has copied my data over 3 or 4 phones by now. The times it DIDN'T copy, I emailed the author and he helped me get it moved! I would give this app 10 stars if I could.

Excellent app, really easy to get, and you get good information back

At first I didn't think this would work. After changing settings to match my 150cc moped it is tracking better. I made need to do more changes, but for now it's working.

Early days but it seems to work well, would be great if you could filter fuel economy based on activity, for example touring or towing. Happy enough. Update on early review above. Very happy, works extremely well, no snags or hangups. A suggestion for future updates - most of us have discount apps these days, if the discount app could be integrated into the fuel app that would be great.

So far it has worked as advertised.

A must have for anyone who drives! update i still use this app and use it to help keep track of everything. I also paid for the pro version.

Been using this app for 2 years plus. I could say very nice and simple, straight forward interface. If you are cloning your old data, you may follow the steps: 1) old phone: export all your data into whatever csv or xml. 2) upload to Google drive and download the file using your new phone. 3) try to export (empty data) once using your new phone. 4) locate the export file in your new phone and move the downloaded file (with the old data) to the same folder & import

Easy to use

Have tried many until I settled on this one. Does it all highly recommended..updates just make it better and better....update July 2016....gets better every update.. Still the best app..won't use any other.....UPDATE: Nov 2019....still love it, gets better every update. Now 2024 and still loving it!

Keeps an excellent watch on the running of my car with every conceivable data variation instantly available. Occasionally, it seems to come up with rather weird fuel economy figures, especially if I do a partial fill-up, but I can live with that. 06/98/23 - still performing well. 05/14/24 - I rotate between summer & winter TYRES. This is not strictly SERVICING and could do with a sub function within service.

I mostly like it so far. Could use better graphics, but I am being picky. Update in 2024, and I'm still using it! It's been fantastic! I highly recommend the Pro Version. It's worth paying for.

Bad, badder, worst. I _have_ a pro key, now after 4 years suddenly an update appears. Auto updating dies not work, so un- and reinstall app. Aaand : no more pro features. All contact attempts end in no-reply.

This was an awesome app. It's a shame to see it pass away. Hasn't been updated since 2019 and the pro version no longer works on new devices (updated in 2010).

Fantastic app. I've been using it for some years and tracked many vehicles with it, including my company car. Just one development idea - there should be 2 modes. A simple with limited things on screen and big buttons and an advanced with the analysis you see right now. Update 10/2023: still using it years on. Still enjoying it.

Solid app to keep track of car expenses, services, fuel, etc. Sept 2023: Backup to dropbox no longer functional. I recently lost my logged data and come to find out export/import to Dropbox isn't functioning.

Got all my data back as I found my backup file on my phone.

An easy app to use keeps multiple vehicle records but of late has problems importing and exporting data to a back up source paid for Pro several years ago now let down with me response from the developer

I've used this app for years for all my vehicles and now it won't backup my data to my new phone. I extremely disappointed

I'm a long time PRO version of My Cars and it's been a pretty good app. The following are a few issues I've had recently. 1 - my phone completely died and I don't have any services for backup so years of data was lost. 2 - recently it's only showing 3 months of data despite being set on Date > All, so I hope this is only temporary. 3 - Now I'm getting 'asked' every few hours to rate this app. My Cars started strong but has developed significant problems recently.

Back up not working anyway

Useful for tracking expenses and prompt servicing etc. I was unable to transfer data to new phone though.

I use it to track fuel consumption. Very easy to use. However, looks like it is no longer supported and can no longer talk to Dropbox (the whole reason I paid for the premium version). Changing from 5 to 1 star, not because it is bad (I like it) but I can't recommend it if it is not going to be supported. Developer has not responded to my email. I'm probably going to have to go looking for another app, but not looking forward to migrating the data.

Have been using it since 2009 and upgraded to Pro version along the way. Very satisfied and happy to have a record of all maintenance at finger tips

3 years running this app and it has been perfect for my needs. Importing or exporting back ups to Dropbox fail. That was the key to buy the premium app. I had to change phones and I had to jumps thru hoops to get the database on my new phone... Now it shows errors when trying to back up. Sent email to costumer service... No answers.

It didn't back up to Dropbox for a year.

Been using this app for a number of years now as I have a weird need for data! It's been pretty good, especially recently, although there was a point a while back where it lost all my data covering previous vehicles which did not amuse me.

I use this app to keep track of all of my auto expenses. It is easy to use and the stats section shows long-term trends.

I used this for a while starting in 2015 to see what kind of mileage I was getting. Since My Cars did the job I didn't look for anything else. I did have some difficult exporting my data and importing it when I got a new phone. The Dropbox approach didn't work. I tried the SD card method. At first I couldn't find the exported data since I was looking on the SD card. Then I thought to look in the device storage and found it there and the import from XML worked.

All features are very good, very useful! 😊👍

A great app it's easy to use and gives lots of information, I use mine for my motorbike but I have to enter it as a car as there is no facility for motorcycles.

Great car expenses logger, helps to track all car related expenses and see the stats over time. I use it for about 7 years and highly recommend!

App is great, but has a few things that could be improved. A quick export for taxes or an official tax report would be great. I like the ability to enter data both in imperial units (for my US cars) and in metric (for my European car), but it auto converts the entered km to imperial, which makes it cumbersome to enter data for trips, since you will need to look up your starting km again to finish. Otherwise the app will mix imperial and metric and will give very erroneous results.

I used to keep my fuel records in a notebook. This app is so easy and convenient, with results at a glance. Thankyou

Great app. Allows me to enter anything I need with the admin tool.

The app does a good job with keeping track of my car expenses including gas, and notifying me when maintenance due dates are approaching. The only thing I could not figure outbis their automatic backup to SD. Couldn't find anything on SD when I changed phones so I could move data to a new phone. Dropbox didn't have b it either. Only my workaround with One drive save me.

I've tried a lot of fuel tracking apps, but this has easily been the best. Bought Pro happily. Needs an update as in Android 12 it no longer gives an instant update bubble showing your latest stats. One star off for that.

I love this app, it helps me track the expenses of my car and keep a log of services for future reference. I have had it for nine years and it is regularly updated with more features without spoiling the easy interface or any tendencies to bloating.

The app is good but the reminders suck. I have oil changes set for 3 months or 3000 miles, but the reminder only show a date, not the remaining milage. It is hard to tell when I need to get it changed. Also this app is in desperate need of an updated UI.

Update a decade later - moving average on fuel economy line on graph now available. I tracked my vehicles expenses from purchase to sale, total cost of ownership completely apparent - 51 cents/km.

Oh no. All my data disappeared. Note. Remember to backup data.. This app is really useful for me. I was able to show my mechanic that after a service the car ran less efficiently. All sorted out thanks to keeping a visual record.

Very useful product. I am using it for a few years now. On new gas entry I prefer old default of current mileage rather than new mileage since last fill up.

Five stars! All stats you need for a car. Just one question for developers: could you please, somehow make remember at least last currency choices? Traversing Europe there are less and less currencies, but it really bugs to choose every time from the rolling list.

Only use this app for 1 vehicle and have done so for several years. Works well for what we want but it is able to give far more analysis than we need. Recommended.

Brilliant app to keep track of vehicle costs. Over time you are able to get interesting stats on your vehicle. Three years since last review and still find it an amazing app. It gets better as you add more information for the statistics.

Happy with it. Wish that it was possible to move app and data to a new phone to better track history, but it's good as is.

Been using it for a couple of years now, each update just makes it better. Keep it up. Updated: This review is revise after using the Pro version after sometime. The option to save past data on a cloud drive makes transferring your history between phone seamless. The app covers the necessary option a driver looks out for in maintaining the car. Thanks for keeping it together all this years. Next maybe to add EV option in it.

Update on initial review . I have been using this app now for a number of years. It's still an excellent app . I use this app for a number of different vehicles in different countries. It syncs between devices using Dropbox so is very convenient. Provides good detail. Recommended.

Excellent, easy to use and comprehensive app for tracking the cost of motoring. I use the app when we are abroad and changing the settings is a chore. It would be nice if 'profiles' were available where I could save all of my settings at once, maybe under a car name.

It allows me to see at a glance how much the operation of my motor vehicle costs. More importantly, I can determine which brands of fuel and from which service stations I get the best fuel economy. The app continues to be user friendly. I really appreciate the ease in which I can monitor the expense running my vehicle

Now offers a gallon per hour burn rate similar to MPG. Could use for boating. Great update. I have all vehicles data in app. I just figured out I can lower my yearly estimated mileage and lower my insurance rate based on actual data.
