i use the app periodically for many years overall the app seems well maintained, with updates and introduction of monetized bonuses that feel unintrusive after the big redesign however I really miss ability to create "templates" - preconfigured tree type, category and time for quick selection

the designs aren't my cup of tea. i find it overwhelming.

Used for years, but now when I try to log in, I click on the "already have an account" and instead of logging me in, it kicks me to the make an account screen, trying to force me to it make a new account.

it keeps track of the time well but when it comes to putting my plants on the land it disappears. today i chose the cherry tree and focus for 1hour. when it completed it offered me 2 trees but when i look at my forest i dont see the 2 trees, i tried again but nothing changed until i changed the tree to something else. it becomes annoying and useless at this point

This was amazing app two years ago. the graphics update was not necessary. please fix the lags. the features added since last 2 years seems unnecessary. please work in this. this is a really amazing to motivate people who wants to work on their discipline, who loves nature, who loves rewards, who loves feeling rewarded after seeing grown plants, who loves planting trees, who loves and works for earth. also reply, how do i earn gold coins in this app?

It's a good app for someone that can keep streaks but I'm not a person that can always go into one app every single day. They should make it so you can change it. If you're a person that can't go into an app every single day, then I don't recommend this for you. If you're a person that can keep streaks, that's good and I recommend this for you. They should also let you change how long you don't use your phone for.

Hi, would you mind telling me how did you come up with this idea, what was the process of creating it such as how did you ideate, define the problem, make the prototype and in the testing phase did you find any problem if yes how did you solve it? (just curious)

Had this app about 9 years ago, bought the Pro and loved it. Now I cannot for the life of me get it to block any apps whatsoever, even with all permissions granted. If I wanted a background timer app, I could've gotten that for free.

A problem I have with the app now is in the past you could save specific plants to specific tags (E.g., if I was studying grammar I'd have the cherry blossom favourited for that tag, or if I was doing vocab I'd have the ginko tree). that doesn't seem to be an option anymore? I have to manually change the plant each time I change tags, and I like to assign a specific plant for each subject I do so I can have a visual representation of everything. also cant change land style for some reason?

its very awesome! but I wish there was a free option to allow some study apps, and if that isn't possible then to add a helpful bot to help only with studies. other than that its amazing

UI design fundamental: ease of use!!! who the hell thought an app designed to help people focus by blocking distractions would be improved with an UI overhall that forces users to press FOUR ADDITIONAL BUTTONS to start a GAWD DAMN focus session i have used your app for YEARS. Almost a decade and this UI change is worse than fortnite's robloxification. Dare I say worse than Minecraft bedrock. more buttons may not sound like much but to someone with severe ADHD this is unusable

used to love this all, but the update made it much less pleasant to use. Also, why does the store now show sounds anymore? I want to get new ones but it seems to only offer trees now?

i've been using this app for years but with the newer updates the app became unusable. there are way to many useless features, the new slider to set the time looks horrible, the app keeps crashing and everything is so obviously vibe coded with AI it's actually frustrating. i don't understand why they think that adding more and more features is going to help the app, it was perfect just the way it was before any AI was used.

I love this app, however, I miss the old dial for setting focus time. Also, why can't I see the total focus time on my home screen. Please fix that, it's such a hassle going to the forest to check how much I studied.

The new update is good but we can't see focus hours of today on the home page which i didn't like because i have to open forest section again n again to watch that my daily goal has been completed or not.... please fix it

The new slider bar is so bad. Wasn't the point of the old timer to see how the plant looks like when it is set on particular timers? I don't see why it had to be changed. And after finishing a session, you have to do three taps just to get back to the home screen, it's very frustrating

i Gate it 5 stars before but after the updates the ergonomics got really bad. like i have to click 4 buttons to start another session. and now you cannot see your study time on the homescreen of the app which is such a bummer. i used to love this app but now im thinking of other alternatives. it sucks to say this after buying the plus version.

older version was good, but latest update is too annoying . Even for small session like 10-15 min, too much clicks and adding extra steps is time wasting and annoying. please fix this issue. just put simple single step as like earlier was.

I find this app absolutely majestic. I kinda figured out that when you get more friends you get more focused to beat their total time. Although it IS a good thing...it might not be a good thing for the cheaters haha... like how can a person stay focused for 23 hours a day? It must be their trick. SO MANY CLICKS!!!! App concept is great but the UI experience is a bit annoying as we have to click so many OKs and claim rewards to finish and start the session. It should be a one-tap task and unnecessary things should be asked later on.

I've always been baffled that there wasn't a way to create a list that blocked specific apps rather than only being able to choose which ones to enable - all I actually wanted was to be able to block games, but I couldn't find a way to re-enable system files meaning I couldn't access my textbooks when I did. Ultimately gave up trying to get it to work. Used to use Forest on IOS and its downfall was always the same problem, needed to disable two or three things, but had to fight the UI.

EDIT: not a fan of the new update and all the new interactions required to start a new one. when I'm studying I just want to set my rest timer and rest I love this app. I've been using it for years. One easy to implement feature I might suggest is the ability to delete healthy trees. I love the "Count exceeded time" feature, because it allows me to continue tracking my work after I get into a really productive rhythm (without needing to remember to reset the timer).

I'm not a fan of the new timer setting style. The circular timer they had for years was way better--easier to use and more fun to see the tree options change. The new one seems poorly designed. It doesn't look as good and it has more steps (more UX friction). I hope they change it back!

many of the trees I bought disappeared from my inventory.So I had to buy them again to use them. Every time the app updates I only have 15 trees left.As for the rest of them I have to buy them again. I use 'Redmi pad pro'. I don't know if it only affects this device. I hope the devs would fix the problem.

I love the trees and forests I plant while studying. It's a great visualisation of my study sessions and keeps me motivated.

New UI is unintuitive and suboptimal. App has been buggy for a long time, and there have been suggestions that the team are using AI to vibe code it. New subscription model is a nothing burger, and spits in the face of people who paid the one time payment for Pro features. Hard limit of 5 irl trees with no opportunity to plant more, despite them saying there will be chances. There have been instances of an update outright crashing the app on startup which weren't fixed for WEEKS.

my old sister tab (samsung tab 4 or 3) had this app and it was good

it used to be a brilliant app because i had downloaded it a couple of times in the past 4 years or so. but now every single feature that used to be free and very simple is under forest plus which you have to pay for.

Stops me using my phone too much, in a nice way that's not too annoying. UPDATE: After 6 years, they've ruined it by adding coins rewards, "boost" rewards, etc. which significantly distracts from the intended purpose.

I'm a Forest Pro subscriber, facing a display bug. A large black box appears over the lower part of the tree on the main timer screen (where the ground/base of the tree should be) on Redmi 9i, it has Android 10 MIUI 12.0.26 QCDINXM Updated the app to latest version from the Play Store,the issue happens only in Forest. Other apps display normally. I've already Updated the app to the latest version,reinstalled the app,cleared the app cache,turned off dark mode,Disabled HW overlays but no use

update doesn't come. shows error and now the app store doesn't even allow to reinstall it again and I paid the premium. I feel scammed

I've used this app for a few years, I'm a 'Pro' user and was happy to pay a one off fee to help me focus. The latest AI slop updates are awful. There are more clicks needed to set the timer, favourites have been removed. Bring back the old app. I'm looking at moving to an alternative unless they sort it out soon.

i feel it is not made for a tablet, many features were cut out, like i cant see my weekly or monthly planted trees, only daily trees can be seen in forest section. Also multi window view works poorly, the elements are not in proper ratio when i resize the app. Overall it doesnt give a finished view for tablet

I’ve been using this app since 2021 and honestly, I miss how simple it used to be. Lately, it’s just bogged down by useless features, constant subscription pushes, and performance issues; it’s still okay, but it’s definitely lost its original magic.

I've been refusing to update cause every update it's meet with backlash from the longtime users and Forest just doesn't care, the second I'm forced to update I'm out. it's supposed to be a simple app, also what happened to "pro users will keep their features" but now there's no favourites... I've bought plenty of apps that later turned into subscription, that's not an issue, but taking away basic functionality that was part of the OG app is not a common thing to do.

New update made app unbelievably crashy. I have this app in pro version since 2017 and i never had so much bugs as i have after this update. I'm creating focus group and I cannot leave it, start timer or invite someone-I have to uninstall the app to leave it. Not mentioning bugs in other app windows. Also new way of setting the time does not allow to see how the tree will change and made me make extra steps to change the time. Edit: Now it even stopped blocking anything losing its only purpose..

I have been using Forest for 7 years, and lately they seem intent on just making the experience worse and worse. A recent update makes it so at the end of every session you have to click through three screens to finish. And now if you use it without an internet connection you get told you have no internet every time you go near the app. Why! A productivity app that requires a connection to the most distracting thing in the world. I'm trying to get away from the internet to do work!

This app used to be great back when you paid for it once. But now that they installed subscriptions, there are always pages coming up about the advantages that follow and it makes use quite annoying. I'll keep using it because I paid for it a few years ago but I don't think I would recommend it to somebody else.

I loved this app for years, I even bought the pro (?) with a one time payment. For a while now the app has been pushing its plus subscription service like no other, but what broke the camels back for me was the redesign into AI slop. The choosing of the time became incredibly unresponsive and the return to the menu after planting a tree now requires three slow clicks instead of one fast.

It's nice to see how my favourite focus app got out of stagnation lately. Probably with a good amount of vibe coding, but so far so good.

The app has a nice interface and a good concept, but too many useful features are locked behind a paid subscription. The pause feature should be free. Unlike YPT, where you can start studying and track your time from the beginning, this app requires you to set a timer in advance (e.g., 1 hour or 2 hours). This makes it less flexible for students who want to track their actual study time. Please make the app more student-friendly by offering basic features for free!!

it's an amazing app for study. It's just like a game. You never feel bored about it. You can earn points and stones, from this you can buy many trees. It also gives achievement points that are truly appreciative.

This app was 5 star prior to this update, after the update there are numerous bugs. For example it doesn't count exceeded time even when it's enables from the settings, this is only one of many example........ app getting worse with every update

I used this app daily until the recent update that added several slow animations/screens after each focus session and removed total time focused from the main page. I've switched apps because this breaks my focus, which is the whole point.

It says it's a pomodoro timer, but it isn't. I wish there was an actual pomodoro system alongside the other timers in the app, and also a ringtone for when the timer goes off.

Please bring back old Forest interface where it showed total time focused for the day as soon as we open the app. Now its just more work and more annoying to get anywhere. Also the screen wont stay on even if the keep screen on is enabled. Never faced this much issues with the old interface. please forest team, please fix this.

It's absolutely a 10/10 app. Especially the deep focus mode stops me from getting distracted anytime. Also I love how motivating it is, I can keep track of my daily progress which encourages me to work harder and increase my focus time the next day and makes everyday feel like a new, friendly challenge! Just one suggestion, it'd really be helpful if the team adds a feature where we can only access specific filters (like study materials from Google/youtube) since many of us require it daily.

I used to love this app, I have the pro version. the new version is so distracting, it actually does the opposite of what I wanted this app for. It tries to keep you engaged for longer with the app and it is now very distracting. I wish there was the option to go back to the old version, without all the challenges and the new trees 😭

I am a UI UX Designer I would just love to tell you that your colour palette &interface is a chef kiss! Few suggestions are: if instead of just giving 5 to 6 trees to complete the focus challenge for 30 days you can include other trees to complete eg:like daily you can change the trees &you can give some new trees that users have to collect or buy it from store to complete challenge so it give more interaction within the app,add the pause button for basic user&fix the crashing of focus challenge

I’ve had this app for ages and gotten a lot of good out of it, enough that I paid for Pro mode years ago, but it’s gone downhill in the past few months. The new UI is awful. The old wheel was quick, easy to use, and actually showed what the tree would look like. The new one requires too many button presses. It’s clunky and unintuitive. It was bad enough when they pushed it on us by default, but now we don’t even have the option to switch back anymore. Why take away the option?

Updated Review (10/3/2026): After 10 years of usage, this app has become bloated with unfixed bugs, unhelpful distracting UI requiring multiple press and slow animations, removal of favorite presets and free features to force users to pay. I'm looking for Forest app alternatives because after multiple feedbacks, developers doesn't listen and improve. This app does a great job of forcing you to keep focus and guilting you if you're derailing from your studies. Simple, does its job, and easy UI.

Why did you remove the pro model for one time payment. I have been a forest user since 2020. The new subscription model is very annoying, kindly bring back the pro model.

It would be great if you could offer Premium as a reward for highly active users! Maybe users who consistently use the app could earn a few days or a week of Premium for free. I think that would be a really nice incentive to stay active. ❤️

why did you take out the total studying time up in the screen:(

1) Tags sorting option- sort by name must be present. 2) To save time- one click timer etc setup. Claim reward must be done in background

Hello Forest team, There seems to be a bug with the Land Style feature. Whenever I select a Land Style, it reverts to the default/classic grassland after I complete a focus session or reopen the app. Could you please fix this so that my selected Land Style remains unchanged until I manually switch it?

I have been using the forest for years now and the current version is the worst. I mean when I open the app they don't even show the time I focused in day..I am supposed to check it by visiting another option..back then after every session they used to show trees as planted and so it was satisfying to see the forest growing...but now I have to check the forest separately on my own...like you literally removed the best part of it..it's just another normal app...plus bring back old graphics please

Just useless! Allow list doesn't work properly. Even if the app isn't in allow list but opens even after taking plus . And then If you, by mistake clear all tabs then you can open all apps whether in allow list or not .

I first started using this app in 2016, paid for the Pro version early on so can safely say: the app gets worse with every update. New trees are now not unlockable with the focus rewards or the premium currency. Not even the plus subscription seems to include all of them, you just have to hope that your favs are in that months rotation?? Plant together reward but with no "room finder" feature so if you dont have frienss using the app, c'es la vie. Who is happy with this apart fron shareholders?

The concept of the app is great, and so is everything that you COULD do... if you pay. The reason I got this app was to block certain apps when I'm working, not just my entire phone. Turns out you can only do that if you pay. I'm not sure how much it costs, but it's definitely too much considering I could just find another app that lets me do what I need it to do without the extra cost.

I love the deep focus option and after I'm done studying , they give a meditation too during the break time :) it is really calming and prevents me from getting on social media during breaks , because sometimes when I go on social media during breaks , it is hard to go back to studying 😭

After the lastest update the app turned glitchey, thought the new graphics are way better than that of last year's, but there are so many glitches like even turning on the option for extend the Time the timer doesn't exceeds past the set limit, my screen turns off even though i turned on the option of "keep screen/display on"......

this app is so good that I can't stop using this app,It helped stop me from distraction and make studying more fun and engaging

Very sketchy stuff, taking away things that first were free and then were in a Pro version (now non existent) from a single-pay plan to now put everything, everything behind a subscription paywall. What made me write this comment is when I learned they now don't let you even buy sounds unless you have a subscriptions, so I have 2 or 3 which I don't whether they are free or i bought them before this change. I love the app and I'll keep using it, but these changes make me want to use it much less

after over 5 years with this app, which I loved, I will soon be switching out of it because the new UI as of September 2026 is utter garbage. I have no easy access to my favourites, I have to click multiple times to go back to the home screen, the slider is buggy. Awful. Fire whoever thought this new thing was an improvement.

I Love this app, I used to struggle focusing when studying but thanks to this app now I can focus more easily since killing a tree will make me feel super guilty. I especially love the new update, Everything is more smooth and Clean. But I do hope they add more trees to the store as it's been a while since they added a new one.

I've used Forest for years as a pro member, but the recent UI updates have made it almost unusable. I've gone from using forest every day to barely opening the app, and unless the developers listen to consumer feedback and go back to the way things were, I'll be uninstalling the app. Such a shame, a great app completely ruined!

I love this app and love that they added new mechanics with latter update, but my monthly challenge folder completely broke over last 3 days and its very sad. (none of challenges update i tried everything)
