I downloaded the app and made the mistake of accidentally subscribing to the premium option. I only wanted to be able to make custom tokens. I tried to cancel my subscription within a couple of days. They do not make the process clear, they are trying to get people to sign up. They have continued to charge my card for the past 8 months even though I don't even use the app and never used the service after determining what it was. older version were better. just skip this, webapps are better

Older versions were great for quickly generating custom cards, but now features that used to be included are locked behind a premium subscription that isn't remotely worth it. It's also so badly designed that I can't reach the settings icon behind my battery meter.

I have contacted 3 times about canceling my subscription to this app and have had zero response.

This app is very poorly built. Why is this allowed on the app store? its a scam.

the redesign from the design from 3-4 years back when it was still free was fairly versatile as a base product, and I'd pay for that to get extra frames and additional content access... this new design with AI jazz and the near total over haul has made it unwieldy and cumbersome, glitchy and crashes a lot... I'm just glad I still have a legacy version cached on an old phone still...

Works halfway: you can create custom cards but saving them (in a remote Database?) is stuck on the last step, and requires a photo; textbox don't adjust its font to fit the available size (it goes over the Power/Toughness area or under the types area); textbox doesn't convert symbols ({T} nor {TAP}, nor {W}, for example) and didn't provide a form to easily insert them; textbox don't have special inputs for named abilities like "landfall": it's just plain text.

dissapointing i even did a subscription amd still nothing the app id devoid of content, a ui that drops below the back button on my phone and lot of other issues. why is it the app version b4 worked perfectly until this new one hate to say it this has sorely upset me

this app is just bad the older version was a lot better I look through the other reviews and I would have to agree with them all if I could give this negative stars o would.

Seems pretty confident, but key components (adding symbols to the primary text box) are broken making it hit or miss whether it is usable for the card you want to create.

WARNING! APP IS FRAUD! Update 4/30/26: Please please do not use this app. It has now charged me over $100 that I never agreed to and can't stop. this is 100% stealing my money. It is impossible to stop payments or contact the developer, and goggle refuses to do anything. They are 100% fine with letting the fraud happen. My only option is to cancel my card which I cannot do at the moment for personal reasons. So I am stuck trying to figure out how to stop this and paying $10 every single month.

You have to have premium to make anything but an artifact card. Not worth it, just use a free online card generator.

I'm dropping a 2 star on you because adding an image has been a task and a half. I can't seem to generate an image because I have no tokens. I dont see any way to get tokens. your program only accepts 1 type of Pic. The generation of the cards overall is decent. There is room for improvements. I believe the program has potential but may also have been made by an AI. I will see how this plays out and if the app improves.

well it sucks. the app doesn't even open on the screen right. either update it to work with newer features n adjust the screen format to fit right. u can't touch ur menu without it closing or opening some other bs. fr dreadfully horrible app. id give it a -5 star rate if I could. that is below zero.

the app does not scale properly to my Pixel Phone screen and any buttons/functions on the edge of the screen are unusable, basically rendering the app useless. used artificer before but once they added premium and went on the app store things have changed and not for the better. would love to change my review if this is addressed but until then the app is basically Useless

The dev should be ashamed of this mockery of Artificer. Completely broken, I can't change frames, there's no back button from card settings, and the save/discard/cancel won't go away if you select cancel. Locks some frames behind a premium version (did you get permission from WoTC to make money off their product?) The original non-google play version was fantastic (albeit with some minor issues) so I'm dumbfounded at this insane drop in quality.

I had downloaded this on another device a long time ago, it was a pretty solid app but I hoped more features would be added over time; more card frames, formatting options, and so on. As said though, solid app, and my go-to for posting to r/custommagic on Reddit. New phone, downloaded it again, and unfortunately was met with the only feature I didn't want: unskippable sign in. Why do I need to register and sign in? Closed and deleted immediately.

dont purchase the premium subscription. you get no access to benefits and they dont respond to cancel your subscription.

All basic functions of this app cause lag. The old Android APK was absolutely phenomenal, but this new one is so bad I legitimately thought it was just a cheap knockoff until I saw that the official artifacer.app website linked here. Besides that, it seems like everything is locked behind premium. I can understand wanting to make money, but that's a big ask when even the free stuff doesn't work adequate. Oh how a legend has fallen.

App doesn't scale to phone screen, menus and controls go off the screen and are inaccessible.

Bad as soon as i bought premium it made the app crash out now i have access to 0 frames and cannot use app to create cards no more not only that but they refuse refunds and stuff that is a scam and is compeletly illegal i will now have to take legal acctions if they dont fix it soon..

I was a dumbass so y'all didn't have to be, I tried paying, and it gave me the email to log in, I already had the app installed and it didn't redirect me, and didn't refresh either. Took my money for nothing I'm taking the $10 loss as punishment

in order to make anything beyond basic, it requires a 9.99/ month subscription. total garbage

lags a lot unintuitive UI you want to go back to the previous option the app wants to close out. all frames are damn premium . you're better of going on any of the web based makers

This used to be the best free program, they removed functionality and hid it behind a paywall. Never using again.

This app sucked so hard to use that I decided to actually write a review. don't use it, it doesn't work, pictures are impossible to format in any way aside from zoom, no clear way of adding symbols in the text box, no clear way of removing incorrect mana costs, no way to change frames unless you pay them money. Honestly just a useless mess that I'm sorry I wasted my time with.

One of the the worst. Constantly crashes. Will not save cards to galleries. If you do the save to camera roll, the formatting will be completely off, and you'll have to redo the card all over again and take a screen cap. sits and loads and freezes. Myriad of ui bugs, suxh as the text formatting controls permanently disappearing until the app is restarted. If you don't want to lose all your work half way through and you actually want to save your cards, skip this app. Keep your sanity in tact.

Specialized browser, not an app.

used to be good when you couldn't get it on Google play. now text doesn't line up with the card frame, the buttons on the bottom are behind the phone's overlay buttons, you have to pay for stuff... it's a total mess now, no thanks, uninstalling within probably 30 seconds of use. (galaxy s24)

Garbage app

was using it guess an outdated version on my old phone and loved it. the updated version is almost unusable. Not nearly as intuitive. Lots of unnecessary options but the things you actually need to use frequently (like icons) are either missing or not intuitive to find. Wish I coukd just download the old version.

The app was great at first, then premium was announced. I paid for premium just to be told it wasn't out yet, that I'd be refunded and notified when premium actually came out. I was then charged for another 2 months with no access to premium. So I have paid for 3 months of premium that I haven't been able to use. I've attempted to contact over email and PayPal, to no avail.

Its like its made for a laptop. Very hard to use and can't figure out how to switch between different "frames". I can only find one per type. fix this garbage.

Terrible app only gets worse. New features remove the entirety of those that do exist. Functionality is non-existent. no longer works for me.

Its a money grab for things that you can find easily online for free. Wouldn't reccomend this.

Almost great, but it's a little buggy, and (worse) for some reason you can't put symbols in the card text. You can in the mana cost; you can in the *type line* for some reason....but you can't insert a tap symbol or mana pip in the card text. I assume that element of the UI is just broken, but there's also no reason the app shouldn't support substitutions for scryfall notation, e.g. typing "{T}" should automatically get replaced with the tap symbol. There's also no real guide or documentation.

This version is inconsistent with option and interactions. Can't edit certain items and constant errors are showing up.

It is fun app where you can create your custom cards but lacks some option for non subscribed users. I'm unable to save my card to device (it says card has forbidden content) or share my created cards. Also, it would be nice if non subscribed users could get access to paid frames through other means like from certain likes for shared cards....

The app has potential, however at the moment it is impossible to create anything adequately or to even save anything. When you attempt to save it throws an error and then doesn't close the loading overlay. in addition text doesn't change to fit in the ability text box, and there doesn't seem to be a way to input mana/tap symbols. Will be watching for updates, as this seems to be the only option for a card creator app on the app store atm.

They've actually ruined this. Used to just be a fun tool with a few ads that you could do practically anything with. Now they are locking previous features behind a subscription and made all of the features so much worse in the process. Forcing a login because you added a semi social media aspect is weird and invasive and the content moderation is broken. That and all my previous cards are gone and the app regularly breaks. Complete enshittification.

This app used to be my way of jotting down random ideas when I wasn't at my pc. I adored it. Now? Worthless. I swear if I see "forbidden content" on a literal easter egg one more time I'm gonna explode. Do not use. Absolutely worthless app now.

Generally good card creator, not a big fan of paying for card frames, and for some reason, it won't let me add mana symbols onto the cards.

awful. already limited to what it can do. promises a premium, does not give you a premium. the app worked for about 3 weeks, after which it started bugging out. this app is pretty easy to use but it's just so underwhelming and buggy that it's almost not even worth it.

Just a broken version of the original with in-app purchases, of which idk work. You can't save anything properly without an image, and adding images doesn't work half the time. They also have a broken AI image generator that doesn't work, but it's the one thing I'm glad doesn't work tbh.

Broken app, when you open it it tells you that you need to update the app, but clicking the link sends you to the play store with no update option. Not worth downloading.

The old app used to let me save cards without having to add an image. Also the UI is just so much worse. In the middle of typing a word, it'll randomly uppercase it, causing the predictive text to start a brand new word.

Useful for making cards, and I had it before they became an official app. However, this scummy premium bull is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to pay a fee just to make proper magic cards. If you want money, open a patreon or something. Not sure how the legality works, but are y'all certain you're allowed to monetize something like this? I hope not. The app was better before y'all started getting greedy.

pretty good start but you apparently can't adjust the font size of the name and description separately. and it's generally kind of buggy.

Has major bugs that make creating cards nearly impossible (typing out words will randomly capitalize them, or even input a completely different letter), no local storage for private cards like it used to be, most of the new features are locked behind the premium sub, which has a price of $100/yr(!!!) needs heavy bugfixing and QoL updating before it is even usable, let alone better than other apps/sites.

The previous Artificer App was really helpful and intuitive to use, but now it's terrible. Frames are partially black and awful, manacost is now not perpendicular to the title and annoying demand to get the premium version makes me sick. I'd prefer any other MTG card creator for now, thank you.

Doesn't save to phone. cant reload card once saved. Also you have to register just to make some fun cards.
