helping me get started after a LONG time out of the gym.
I do my own programming and just use it as a tracker. There are a few pretty common exercises missing from the core library, and you can only add a few "custom" exercises for free. But the most annoying thing is just how inconsistently adjusting the weight or reps on one set will change the others. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.
great app! wish they had a rest timer tho
was very good until the last round of updates. now its clunky, crashes atleast 5 times in my work out - i have to frequently close it out and re open. i like the new features, they have potential, but it seems like there are several bugs that need to be ironed out. i dont think its my phone as its only 3 years old, but I suppose it could be. none of my other apps act like this though. the screen freezes often. uninstall and reinstall didnt do anything for the issues. please iron out the bugs.
The onboarding process asks if you have any injuries. It lists almost all body parts except the hip. The hip is a major joint and I'm surprised it's left out. I understand the need to charge users. However, making the sign up step last, after you entered all your personal info & training goal, then making you pay to actually see your customized training program, is misleading. You can't see your customized plan at all in the free plan. Would have liked to know this before signing up.
I feel scammed. I got the pro version, meaning I pay for it, and it does not live up to most free apps. I has 1 workout for at home beginner to intermediate 3 days a week and not many, it does not have instructional videos or guides like other free apps. It uses a embedded YouTube view that does not work because you need to sign in. Thr ui is clear but needs some polishing. It could be way better and the auto progression does not work
youtube sign in still a problem. ive signed into youtube using the link in boost camp and it doesnt register ive signed in. using the gift with the white background like there is on several exercises already would avoid having to use youtube all together. other than that great work. loving the app
its good for free if you take the time to build your own work out plan but you opny get 3 free add a work out exercise but there are lots of free one you can pick from to create your own plan and its kinda of time consuming to do it but very detailed which makes it worth doing so after I get though my own plan im going to thi k of upgrading 4 stars cus its not a bad app just takes a bit to get use to and the mth price is $15
Tricks you into using pro then locks access. Spent ages setting up a program only to be told it was pro and I'd have to pay. Started from scratch assiduously avoiding pro features. At the last stage a pro feature was auto selected and I clicked on it to deselect but it went ahead, added AI and my second attempt at creating a free workout then locked. Incredibly frustrating and designed to intentionally trick you into using pro features.
My gym updated their app and removed a bunch of features. that led me here. this app has everything I need to create my own workouts and go through them step by step, with timed breaks.
The app is pretty slow/not responsive. UI isn't great.
best weight lifting app I've ever used
Been a premium user for almost two years. This app has helped me improve my health. I had some issues using the app and the support team fixed it for me so quick.
first time using it its actually good deserve a 5 star tbh
it's best app for sport and ex
it is a great app, but after recent update it gets stuck whenever I try to enter weight/reps or mark set as complete and then it take around 5 seconds to become responsive again, please fix the issue after that I can give 5 stars to this app
yeah. app is free ....only need to pay for pro to use it! I stay with pencil and paper.
Amazing App
This app is beyond amazing. I don't have much gym knowledge and it has been helping me tremendously with my workout. It also has free workout programs, I have been loving this app. Thank you for making this available to us
excelent app, but lately I'm having problems with the timer. it's working well, now, but after I finish my training it keep sending me messages of the time is complete after an hour.
Everything you want in a workout app so far. Create own program with descriptions, notes, sets, reps, rest timer. Able to do this from the web so easier/faster. Pro version has extra feature like weight calculator and some others which are nice and you get 10 free use ones. so far best app out there.
The best
Great job by devs, awesome UI and super intuitive. Alot of features on the free version.
This app does what is expected. However, paling for the pro version and still get ads via YouTube when an exercise is shown is not ok
very bad
good
Full setup before asking to create an account is a waste of time. Edit: I might not have been clear enough. Allowing to skip the creation of an account at the start lets people think they won't need an account to use the app, which I was very happy with. I did the whole questionnaire at the start, again after being allowed to skip the account creation, only to be forced to create an account at the end. It's pure bait and switch, and why I will not be using the app.
excellent app
calories are way off on the estimate. should be 3-6 times what it's showing. can you update this or make a way we can edit it in the app. currently you have to delete it from health connect and add it manually.
The app needs optimization but the features are extraordinary. Still, it could use some optimization, kinda laggy and buggy.
excellent platform, features, program, and interface
Optimal
just started using this app after I lost access to a previous one and it is great for custom workouts and tracking workouts.
Free ones are good su far but I'm bummed that it didn't give me a customized workout which is generally what "free"means.
2nd session review: So far my only complaint is when the app randomly closes when I open a different app. Aside from that, as an experienced weight lifter, I think it's a good app.
Great app.
Couldn't create account
Great interface and customisable work out diary/tracker. I'm just using the free version and it's great to have this app. Also it has other great free weekly workout routines when you finish up your 12 week cycle.
Fantastic training app! I've tried about 6 different weightlifting apps, some have been good, but this one is above & beyond even on a free account. There are some great programmes available, all for different levels of users. I'm very new to weightlifting & finding it easy to follow, track & find new exercises. Would highly recommend!
Great workouts on a FREE app
very good app for a first timer
It's fine. Inertia keeps me using this app instead of switching. UI changes/updates that add nothing drive me up the wall.
it works, it's free, no ads, and there's plenty of exercises to follow. highly recommend
The free features are enough and it's very useful to have as a beginner.
I'm excited to use the app consistently It's nice to have everything in one location and I can write my reps and weights and it will keep track for me
good app.
I've been using the free version for a month and its been fantastic. It is very intuitive to use, has a huge library of programs, and it takes the stress out of tracking. Honestly it makes it easier for me to get to the gym because the mental load of tracking is reduced so much, I can just show up and lift. Love this app and will continue to use it.
Bait & switch, not free.
Honestly, the best gym app ive used. Great range of workouts to choose from, plus the tracking feature is perfect for keeping records. Zero complaints.
yo bring to old ui !!! this one suck !? why changing a good recepie man
even though im making use of my own training program to start i find that incorporating Boostcamp app assist me in pushing myself to the next level. I had another app I was making use of but it did not record my progress as good as Bootscamp does. 5 days a week for a 8 week training program. at 64 I don't have time to waste on making use of tools that dont work for me. I cannot wait to try some of the workouts listed on the Boost camp next. Great app, 👍
Its a great app for tracking but I hate that the layout changes so much. Its also glitchy sometimes with random things that are very annoying. Right now I am unable to scroll through my set history on exercises.
Love the app
Very cool free version
The best
Undo the latest update, it's ugly, has major glitches where it kicks me out of my workout constantly or if I try and do an excersises out of order it won't stay on the current excersise I'm editing. all around a major downgrade. edit: the new update has once again broken the app, there's a new bug. when you select a specific exercise (e.g bench press, tricep pushdown) you can only see the latest workout history, you can no longer scroll down and see all the previous entries from past workouts
Just a little review on the last update. I'm loving the interface upgrade. It feels great to use with the auto folding. <3
awesome app
nice
download this if u want your body to burn
bad experience
if you're an absolute workout beginner like me, this is a great app. it gives you free workout programs, each of the exercises have an option to click on them and it will show a video of how to actually do it (no more annoying Google searches). It has a ton of options for how much equipment you have access to (bodyweight only- full gym). There is a paid version if you want more access to other things, but I have been perfectly content with the free options.
great so far!
allows you to pick whatever build you want a finds someone who sets it up for you, you can do it anywhere which makes it easier
I already knew what program I wanted. I don't need to answer endless questions to figure it out. I'm not going to sync it with Health Connect and my personal data before I even get a chance to look at the actual app.
I filled in the questionnaire and received a plan that looked great. but I can not access it. anytime I press on anything in the app the screen goes blank/black and I have to close the app.
easy to follow along. videos help with exercises i am unsure of . Great app
very organized and useful
every "at home" "no equipment" program requires equipment... terrible
briliant
A little confusing at first but once you understand super fun,and works well.
As a free user, this is still my go-to tracking app, but a few quick fixes would make it much better. The UI occasionally lags and freezes, especially when swiping through sets. Additionally, several exercises are missing (like the iso-lateral low row), and when adding custom ones, you can't attach an image—which makes them much harder to identify. Fixing these UI and custom exercise issues would be a massive improvement!
App's great! Some feedback: Maybe make exercises easier to be deleted in a workout? Especially if I've already started it. Also importing images from the library is not working for me - forces me to use the in-app camera.
Its really good so far, but I really wish there was a way to reorder the workout days without having to restart the entire workout plan. As a new user, I created a 12 week plan to get back into the gym but it automatically set the order to be chest legs back. I personally need more than 1 day recovery between leg and back days so usually do chest in between. Otherwise this app would be 5 stars Edit: developer response works, now its 5 stars :)
good
Very good
Perfect!
not at all good
has many options to create exercises, and create our own programs. Saw at least a couple of bugs:once you join a public program, you cannot unjoin it and that program stays on your dashboard forever, which is annoying, and when you archive a single program, it shows multiple entries in the archive section. I saw too many variations of the same program in the archive section, deleted some of them and the whole history of my workouts in that program got eliminated permanently. Frustrating
Great app!!
nice
Tried it and the free version is absolute garbage. it was a big waste of time answering questions. cant even view my workout I set up anymore. I wanted to track my progress. didnt even log one workout. its not even worth the download space
the instructional animation repeats the same single exercise no matter what exercises I'm viewing
Love the customize options in the free workouts to work around injuries.
the videos for workouts dont fit in the window. disappointing, it seems like a pretty basic requirement. phenomenal app except for that
first day so far so good giving 4 stars only cause I don't like to give 5
good
Great app
1 day and 5 five stars
helps me not be lost in the gym love
Great app the update fixed most of my issues. It would be nice to be able to sync workouts with Google health. Not sure why this wasn't implemented since they can be synced on the IOS version with Apple health. Secondly it would be great to have a dedicated button for reorder exercises, superset instead of being forced to click the three dots each time.
really nice app, show you how to do videos
Daily driver for workout journaling. Not a fault yet found.
good
amazing app apealing desogn and allows me to actually use in app rest timers i dont have to leave the app at all to do my workout j love this app
The app has been very helpful for tracking workout progress and staying consistent with a pre-made program of your choice. The only issue I have may be an Android-specific one: everytime I go to a different app for just a minute between sets, when I open it back up the app reloads. This does get annoying over time, but other than that Boostcamp has been working for me!
Very good workout tracker, has a lot of features for being completely ad free. One of the rare apps where i would pay for premium just to support them
App does not respect system accessibility settings. The fonts are TINY. I know I'm old, but please don't make me pull out reading glasses while lifting. It's literally an app store for workout plans, the UI is your only job. original: Font size is tiny with no customization options. Certain weight sizes don't have a color/show up blank in plate calculator. Been a paid user for several years, but the interface is regressing... rethinking my subscription.
just using the free part of the app so far for a few days, it is a very useful app great for tracking workouts and keeping logs and sticking to a program
the exercise method learning videos can not be accessed offline. and the videos are also not a real person but a diagram.
Using it for a week, I like it so far. Beats pen and paper
the workouts are great but I don't think the app is very well made. it takes a long time to load and if I go into any other app (like to change music) then it has to reload the app again. this isnt a problem with any other app I have, and this is after making sure the app won't be put to sleep in settings etc.
they'll spam your email with spam multiple times a day. app runs slow and they try to force you to buy their pro option with no ads
I just hate when you lie about being free. I want a free trial. If I do like it i will pay for it. You do not need my credit card info for that. I just ask you to be honest. Anyone asking for a credit card to get a free trial seems dishonest. I do not lie to people. I expect the same. Don't say free while holding your hand out wanting money. Seems like a scam.
The app provides a wide range of different exercise programs, with instructions, videos and animations. You can track weights, sets and reps. I haven't tried premium, a free version is very good. I haven't seen any ads yet.
Boostcamp is ok for what it is and the price. The ability to make custom workouts and use uom's such as rpe, weight, time, distance, etc.. is very useful. I do have one complaint and it was something i emailed boostcamp about a year ago, when will we be able to export to excel or other options. While the onboard reporting is ok, it isn't what most people would actually find useful.
Honestly very good app, allows the change of exercises throughout the entire workout so I don't have to do it every week, if my gym doesn't have that equipment.
I used to love this app. lots of great free programs. unfortunately my favorite program that I bought some 2 years ago is now locked behind the monthly PRO pay wall. let this be a reminder, if it's digital, you don't own it.
Initially good, now terrible. Used to be extremely fast load times and had almost zero bugs happen. Now it's so slow to load up, update, change things, and now frequent bugs. I'll probably be making my own workout app since this one is getting worse by the day.
Buggy, programs don't load after searching. I'll search for PPL and reddit PPL pops up first. It has 4.3 stars and 24k+ users but when I tap on it, none of the info loads. I can't see reviews or even the workouts, it's just a blank page. I've turned my WiFi and VPN on and off thinking it was a connection issue but nothing works
Been a yearly subscriber and I used to absolutely love it, but all the issues lately with full screen blocking the bottom, timer not working or getting stuck, not saving my data, etc for the past month has made me regret recommending this app to others. I've wasted 2 months of my yearly subscription essential for a subpar product that doesn't work. editting a few months later, a lot better. still annoyed at the time wasted and 2-3 months but everyone from UI, timer working properly, etc.
have tried numerous times to download this app. each time I open it it says checking for updates and immediately shuts down. then says app has a bug. cleared the cache, tried running on wifi or straight from the phone and nothing.
New update lost all of my data. Works now 🥰 nice to keep an eye on my progress. Wish there was some stuff I could do offline bc my gym doesn't get the greatest service nevermind did another update and waited a few days and my data is gone again this is frustrating
I just downloaded and started a free premium trial. I told it what I have for equipment, basically hand weights and it gave me exercises with gym equipment that I don't have. I can't see where to change or edit this. frustrated and leaning towards cancelling if this can't be fixed.
Just love it! The free version has been such a great tool to have while I'm not financially able to subscribe to the Pro version. I will absolutely be subscribing soon, as I sampled the Pro version during the free trial and it's great. The subscription price is also very affordable considering what you get. Customer service is excellent and very helpful. You're doing great work, Boostcamp. Thank you!
First problem is, the app doesn't sync across devices. I have this installed on my tab and my phone and even after syncing the app, and logging out and back in, the info does not pull to the other device, which sucks. Second problem, the exercises are not guided, meaning that I would like to press start and it guides me through. Third problem, not all exercises/stretches have examples of what they are so you have to look them up during your workout. 3 stars for me.
The new UI is HORRIBLE! I have no clue why they would change it at all, the old UI was perfect, I don't think there was a single thing I'd change. They somehow took a complete, well tested app and made it look like it's still in beta. Great app otherwise but when UI is the point of an app like this it's hard to say "otherwise."
The app is great. It's feature packed, has a great design, and the ui is intuitive. Even the free version has great workout plans. I like how Additional info and demo animation is available for exercises. The app is just lacking one essential feature: sync to health connect. Please add it. I need that data to sync to myfitnesspal so it can track calories spent on workout.
ADS ADS ADS. Great for those who would rather watch ads instead of Netflix or workout. Glitchy and finicky often. Often are running ads to get premium. Which sarcastically isn't a big deal because you only have to reject it a few times in a row every time you open up the app. Not four times which would be the limit. Stopping just under is great.
Free user experience. Unsure if it is different for premium users, but training sessions aren't synced between different devices. Multiple times now have I logged a session on one device, just for it to not get logged on the other device. This is incredibly frustrating because it breaks the streak and recommends you to do an exercise program you have already done the previous day. While the programs in the platform itself are good, the platform itself leaves a lot to be desired.
the app is solid, even though every time you open it, it asks you to buy it, which can be annoying. my major gripe is that their database of exercises is low, and unless you pay, you are limited to 3 exercises you can add to their database, which is insane. you want users to add exercises to your database to make it easier on future customers. also I have had issues when every they upgrade that I've had to roll back to previous versions as it would delete workouts I had previously done 🤦♂️.
The app is sluggish - navigating between screens takes too long and feels unresponsive. The UI isn't intuitive and feels dated. Creating programs is frustrating and slow. I'm repeatedly required to manually enter weights for each set on repeat workouts - the app doesn't save weight values. And if there's an option to streamline the process, it's not clear. With all that, the spreadsheet seems like a better option for workout tracking.
has potential but unnecessarily rigid UI means creating your own template is somewhere between a nightmarish hassle and simply impossible (cannot, for a simple example, program "4-6 reps" because that is not a numeral and the keyboard does not allow something crazy like hyphens in the rep range). Having to scroll through a million irrelevant exercises just to find the one you want because of overinclusive lists you can't easily filter the noise from? it's a choice...
Great app for tracking progress, and finding new programs to try. Not sure if this is in the update pipeline but please add the ability to delete added sets, I have accidentally added sets to workouts and as far as I can tell there is no way to remove them. Other than that, zero complaints.
As of 4/19/25, I've noticed a change with the UI where it overtakes the phones UI. Unfortunately, it's definitely caused a bad reaction where I'm not enjoying using the app anymore. The ability to close the app easily and avoid messing up my workout numbers has become a pain. I still enjoy the workout plans available, so it gets a 3, but without that it would 1 or 2 star for me
Originally I gave this a 2 star, but after messing around in my phones settings (not an app feature) I was able to put the background to sleep resolving the battery drain. Workouts are fun and engaging. I'm trying exercises I've never done or heard of. And I appreciate that the app has recommended alternatives to specific exercises. (this may be specific to routines) The program i am on is 12 weeks, I'll give a final review then (note this is with premium but on a free routine)
Great for finding and using pre-made programs, has a good database of exercises already built into the app. Some basic functions like substituting an exercise are locked behind a subscription though, and to an extent that I think is ridiculous. Otherwise a good app, but there are other apps that do more for free imho.
I generally like this app but the two screens pushing the subscription model every time you open the app in the new version are supremely annoying. Also, the subscription model is ridiculously overpriced. I would actually consider paying for a premium version if it was a one-time charge and not a subscription. Not everything needs to be a subscription.
I love this app and the simplicity takes all the thinking out of going to the gym for me. You can watch form videos without navigating away from your workout which I love! It's helped me stay consistent for once. For the devs: It would be awesome if there was a pregnancy lifting routine added as I just found out I'm pregnant and I'd like to continue lifting but safely. I bought the year just before finding out and now I feel like I wasted my money for the year.
This app has been great in exploring and building fitness routines. The ability for people to build and share programs is killer. A couple of small gripes that make it 4 star: - the line separating free and paid tiers seems pointlessly complex, and it's annoying to randomly crash into the paywall and the constant upsell. I get it, developers need to eat, but I think this is borderline counterproductive - the rest timer in the paid tier seems to lose its mind sometimes (but not all the time)
I'm trying to use the app since 2 months already, and sent a couple of emails to support explaining my issue. When I open the app a message appears saying that is checking for updates, after being on that state for a couple of minutes the apps crashes. I try everything and it keeps doing the same everytime. I hope you can fix this issue because it's the best app for fitness.
App was fine until UI change, makes it near impossible to see progression scheme of a program you've already started. Also no option to resume a workout if you accidentally click "finish", you can only go back and edit it. I'll be sticking to paper. Update: tried again, used for a few months, this app has less features than a Google spreadsheet and constantly begs you to buy Pro. 0/10 do not install
I've been using boostcamp for about a year and it's probably one of my favorite apps Ive tried over the years. Most of the paid features aren't that important to me, so what's available for free is perfectly usable. I would happily pay a one time fee to support them, but I'm not paying a subscription. My biggest gripe is the apps a bit slow on startup, which normally wouldn't be an issue, but lately it seems like if I venture away from the app for too long it has to open up all over again.
Great app with tons of programs to choose from based on your training needs. One issue, but it's more of an annoyance: every time I open the app, I get the sign-up screen. It's two screens you have to close out of each time you open the app. Again, this is more of an annoyance, and I wish that once you decline to sign up for the monthly or annual fee, it doesn't come up again for X amount of time.
To the devs: Just started using it. Looks cool but can you upload FitNotes data and or previous workout Excel spreadsheet data into your profile to help adapt workouts to meet you where you're at, so program changes are more smooth? That would be clutch. I might use this app forever if you can do that. Should be pretty simple with AI. Lemmie know if it's there already and I missed it, though. I'll probably change my review to 5 stars later. Just wanna check it more first.
The app has become a lot slower recently. Noticing slowdowns when I open the app, start typing the weight of my first set (huge lag followed by queued input), and randomly being booted out of my current workout to be promoted with a subscription upsell. Like I would pay a flat fee for the app but I don't want another subscription.
3 amazing features for me: 1. pick programs made by coaches helping you find workouts that are balanced and suit your goals. Not enjoying the workout, change it, problem solved. 2. keep track of your progress - it helps you track your progress for each workout. 3. Visual aids in the form of short video clips - very useful for newbies to know which exercise to do, or for people trying to improve their form. Very user friendly and well organised - no stuffing around, can hit the ground running!
I have tried many workout apps, some I have a lifetime membership to. I really enjoyed the use of this bootcamp app; it allows me to do things that the other apps cannot. The way you can plan your own workouts, I love the templates. I would ask for one upgrade and that would be to allow super setting certain exercises within the workout plan. Will be using for a while, maybe Go Pro, we will see after this 8 weeks workout program!
Very nice. Request. Once we finish a set, and number pads pop up for the next set, can you make the visual timer to be visible maybe by putting it on top so I can have the number pad up to punch in the rep number but also be able to see the visual timer at the same time without '1) having to close the number pad, 2) having to manually touch to see the visual timer, 3) when time is up I don't have to manually close the timer, and then 4) manually open the number keypad again to type in the rep.
Loads extremely slow. Issue was temporarily resolved but seems to be an ongoing issue thst they claim to have fixed. Doesnt have as much functionality as a lot of other apps. Free content is very limited and you can find similar programs online. There is also a problem with naming as the lift selection often describe the lift rather than the exercise being performed.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to even use it because its required to make a program for a certain amount of weeks, otherwise you cant create a program. That's the most stupid thing I've seen in a workout app since it makes it impossible to just create a workout as it needs to limit the workout to a certain amount of weeks. Whys it so hard to find a simple workout app with the basic features.
able to customize your own personal programs. a bit confusing on how to work it, but a great tool for those who don't want to keep a notebook full of random exercises. expect to work on this app for about a good 1.5-2 hours to learn all basic functions and get a grasp including if you want to create your own program/copy one.
An excellent and highly versatile application, with a few shortcomings. In my home gym setup, I track all my workouts on a 10in tablet. While Boostcamp runs just fine on the app, it doesn't seem to format its UI ideally. There's no landscape mode, for example, while buttons and options for sets/reps are comparatively tiny. The app also seems to clobber the battery of the tablet, draining it dry in a little more than a day. I would give the app a thumbs up for its versatility, with some annoy
This app is excellent, good layout and variety of exercises, and makes progress tracking easy. The reason it's 4 star instead of a 5 star is all because of the pricing model. I want to support the devs, but the subscription model makes using this in the long term frustratingly expensive. $80 a year is a lot to pay just for convenience. I'd actually be likely to pay out for a $80 lifetime license, but instead I'm stuck giving nothing because I don't find the value for money to be compelling.
I learned about this app from Reddit. I'm not a common user of Reddit but I know it's a place you can go to talk to real people. I've found that trying to Google workout programs is almost hopeless. the internet is just full of advertisements now and it's hard to find good information. This app was created by a Reddit user who saw the issue and I have to say it's one of the most well designed workout apps I've ever downloaded. Easy to understand interface and lots of options for anyone.
Overall the app is good with a great selection of routines. The custom routines are where there are major issues though. As far as I can tell, there is no way to simply delete an exercise from a routine. This leads to you having to rebuild the entire routine from scratch. You also cannot delete sets from an exercise that you picked. What's the point of making everything permanent? The experience is just frustrating. Notes below worked! Thanks! Would be great if this feature was more obvious :)
It's been about a year that I've been using Boostcamp. I started out with the free version and have grown to really appreciate and enjoy it for providing and managing my workouts. I honestly attribute this app for helping stick to my first training plan ever. I have since upgraded to the full version due to how much I have enjoyed using this app. Improvements to the app have been steady and well appreciated.
Overall great app, however alot of the self programming stuff can be a bit finicky. (Alot of which has been helped in the last update, such as week to week progressions seemingly to be finally available.) But if you're strong enough to not progress off of an AI randomly throwing stuff at a wall, short of a coach, this is probably my highest suggested tool to use.
They have no security to their data. I somehow am logged into someone else's account. Update lost all my data and had to redownload the app. I signed in and updated again and now I'm signed into a random persons account. This is a breach of personal data and security. I could have easily charged this person's card for every in app purchase available. Can't customize workout plans unless you pay.
Great app so far, lots of options on the free version. Love the program recommendations based on your goals. Also enjoy having a timer, able to record RPE and demo videos of the exercises. Only one nitpicky complaint so far; when you exit out of the RPE option without choosing an RPE number you can't edit anything, since your keyboard is greyed out. Have to close out of the app and relaunch it to fix it. But this only happens when you DONT choose an RPE. Other than that it's pretty great.
Excellent app; enjoying using it so far. The app does all the work as regards calculating weights etc, you simply tick off each set when they're done. There is an excellent range of programs in the library, covering all sorts of bases (bodybuilding, powerlifting, powerbuilding, general athleticism etc). Most of the programs you see discussed regularly on lifting forums online are present here, plus some lesser known programs.
Signed up for the annual subscription and have had nothing but issues with the app. There are a bunch of exercises that use machines or weights and yet it does not let you list how many lbs you used, it only lists time or reps...?? Create your own workout is so glitchy and I understand it's in BETA mode but come on. I'm sick of wasting time in the gym dealing with these glitches. I'm probably going to cancel my subscription after the free two weeks are up.
This app has completely reinvigorated my motivation and progress in the gym! Was getting apathetic and going through the motions, not really tracking, and making little to no progress. This app provided a very user-friendly way to track that I actually use! You can make your own custom workouts or they have a ton of great pre-made program by very reputable people in the field. 4 weeks into Albert Nunez's program and have increased weight or reps every session.
I was very excited for this app. I was almost done with my first workout and the app crashed. I tried to open it back up and when I did it said data error. I closed the app and re opened and it said no data found. I tried to open the program I was on and it keeps taking me to a completely different program. I've re installed the app 2 times and created a new account. Nothing works and I can't do the program I want and had already started. Very disappointed
Great app for what it is, there is a paid service but you can use the app almost in its entirety without subscribing. There are some bugs within the app but the developers are good at getting them resolved. I've been using the app since around November and it is one of the better ones you'll find on the app store.
I love searching work outs and finding new programs and that they auto populate for me. I love having Demos right in the work out and all the other information and analytics. I dislike that the demo video crashes the app on first launch. I dislike the auto timer scroll wheel. It's a pain to get what I want. I'd rather just punch in a number. Set and weight data entry is slow and leads to inaccuracies. Overall this is a great app that needs a bit of polish to make it 5 stars.
I have never seen this app before in my life, it's not even installed on my phone, and yet I just discovered when going through my Google subscription list that they have charged me for this service four times this year. (And twice in January!) I don't see a way to contact the developers, to get my almost $50 refunded. This is soooo incredibly sketchy.
Works as intended for logging sets/reps/weight, but often when I try to write notes I get an error, the app reloads, and then the text field I was editing cannot be changed. The notes for other exercises can still be edited, but this often happens for 2-3 exercises per session. I highly value taking notes during my workouts so this is a major issue for me. Edit: Updated the app and have not had the above error since. However, occasionally the app reloads when in use which is slightly annoying.
Tell the app my gym setup and my available days per week. App immediately recommends programs that don't match. Tried to work through that and select a routine and think that maybe I can substitute exercises - if that's possible, I don't know how. Honestly, trying to just navigate the app felt like a chore. Ended up deleting and picking up keylifts. Even though it's heavily geared towards 531 routines, it still feels 10x easier to navigate and modify than boostcamp.
Had an issue linking my premium subscription to my account. Couple of quick emails with support and everything was ironed out. App is also great. But if you're curious if they're just trying to take your subscription fee and leave you hanging - that's definitely not the case. It seems the meat of the app is behind the subscription, but it's worth the price and comes with stellar support.
Would be amazing, if it worked consistently. Have been using for around 5 weeks. During that period it has twice forgotten I'm a Pro used and lost all progress which has left me stuck at the gym trying to fix and recover the access before I can workout. Not great if you're short on time. Won't be renewing my subscription at this rate.
I like the programs and the setup, but the app is pretty buggy. Half the time when I try to hit a button or enter a number there's just no response. I have to force stop and reopen several times to get it to do anything. Often I'm unable to enter my numbers until enough time has passed that I've done a few sets and already forgotten how many reps I did in the first set.
Top half of app home page has a render bug that makes it incredibly laggy. Also returning to the app from phone sleep or when it is minimized causes it to be unresponsive. Not sure if some free trial ran out or if it's related to new year but all my data was lost (was two weeks into nsun's) without warning. Decent ui and liked the tracking while it worked though. Edit: my data and program have begun showing up in the app again changing to three stars due to lagginess and unresponsiveness
While the app provides a lot of well rounded and well structured workouts, the app constantly freezes, crashes, and fails to record numbers and finished workouts. A good app for the sake of ease of record keeping, but it's nearly too slow and unreliable to be worth it.
This app is unusable. If there's a specific routine you want info on, go ahead and install and then write it down so you can uninstall after, the app is too slow to use during rest periods. Additionally, if I'm already doing a routine then it should take me straight to that routine to see what I have that day, but instead you have to go through the home screen where they shill all the stuff you didn't want before.
Using this app, my phone screen frequently becomes unresponsive, scrolling and tapping on data boxes often takes a few attempts. Before and after the recent update, if I switch between apps or turn off the screen during a workout, Boostcamp will freeze up with a spinning pinwheel in the upper left corner forever. Honestly, it is easier to just get a "smart" spreadsheet from Liftvault or wherever and fill it in. There is potential to be a good app but right now it is too buggy and frustrating.
What a great app, searching for this for the longest. Store is flooded with so many apps, but at a cost, or worse, a monthly cost, this app is mostly free (just some paid programs for the more advanced), crowdfunded, and simple programs for someone that just wants a plan to follow to quickly start. Small minor bugs could have been forgiven but it's minus a star because this REALLY needs an offline mode, most gyms have horrible reception and this app won't work without data!!
It's got a bunch of exercises and that's cool. The interface isn't the fastest, but that's a trade off for all the preconfigured workouts. I'm mostly dropping 2 stars cause the rest timer isn't included now without a payment. I mean lol, it's a rest timer and I have to subscribe to pro? Response: I understand that they need to pay developers, I'm just not paying 14.99 a month when all I want is the timer. I'd likely do a one time purchase for some ala cart additions though.
The app is okay but is subject to constant crashes and bugs. Recently it has been causing my music to stop playing after opening the app, which is very annoying, especially for an app you'd be using while working out. Now you're restricting access to previously free features behind a paywall. Similar to MyFitnessPal. I understand you need to make money but taking things away from users is not a good way to go about it.
This is a one-of-a-kind app as it gives you some of the best workout programs COMPLETELY FREE, without any ads or hidden costs. I use it for PHUL, and it's beyond my expectations - I see my last week's weight/sets/reps, I can enter notes for each exercise and for the workout day. Plus, it has a rest timer, weight plate calculator, and it allows you to track progress easily and stay motivated as it has a handy calendar. A pure 10/10, can't recommend it more, BoostCamp is a pure gem, and I will continue using it for other workouts once I complete PHUL.
