Using this app was extremely frustrating. I paid the subscription fee and started using the app. I'm wanting to learn Mandarin Chinese. I'm beginner level but they only use the simplified characters and not Pinyin so I had no way of knowing how to read the tones or even begin to understand. Thankfully I got my refund, it had been less than 12 hours after paying.

spent too much time answering questions to get to the app only to find out it's only usable with pay, why is it on the free section? why waste people's time and get a bad review?

I truly believe this app would be amazing, if only I could afford it. I'm on disability pay, and can barely afford to live right now...so I can't pay for this. But if you have the money, this looks amazing. it's extremely detailed and shows what you need to work with. you can also customize how you want you tutor to be, both about what to focus on, and what voice and personality it has. Honestly, this is the best app I have tried this far. So if I had the money, I would definitely invest in it!

There is not even a free trial to test the application before using it. The average review score is fake, most of the recent reviews are negative. The moment you decline the payment, it offers you an immediate 50% discount, which is kind of ridiculous and unfair.

I used a trial. I want to learn to speak Hebrew more fluently. The vocabulary builder often did not count words I pronounced correctly. The phone call AI part was confusing.

After the initial test of my pronunciation and word knowledge the practice portion of the daily lessons were very much tailored to my ability which had faded a lot since classroom study years ago. I like what I see from my first lesson.

At first, it took me a while to get used to listening to a Hebrew speaker. I haven't studied it for several months. My memory is not too great. I need to study it more and with Fluently helping me, I'm sure to improve.

Its my first time to use the app and I just had my first call with Mateo.. I used to be B1 level but I havent spoken in years. Mateo threw me into the deep end but with time I think I will improve. This is an excellent way to practice!

The Worst App Ever I've never seen anything worse in my life. It calls you whenever it wants. It doesn't listen to you. It doesn't understand anything. I ask for a refund, and they make up excuses to avoid giving it to me. An absolute disaster.

Tried the app for a day or two. It was pretty disappointing. Asked for a refund, was denied. Stuck with a $200 plus bill for two days of disappointment. The AI isn't close to as intuitive as they are advertising. I got pretty screwed on this. Be warned if you buy this and it doesn't live up to what you need. There is no recourse for a refund.

Downloaded it after an ad that showed I could practice a certain language. Downloaded and paid for the app, and suddenly that language isn't even an option.

Decent speech trainer, but it needs persistent instructions Good speech practice tool compared to older apps, but I have to re-explain my learning routine (spot the mistake, explain it, give a natural phrase, let me repeat) after every reply. The behavior settings barely help. A model that remembers my instructions, even within a single conversation, would make a difference.

The advertisement stated that a Norwegian course was available, so I selected and paid for that option. However, after subscribing, the study plan was suddenly changed to an English course instead. This was not what I signed up for or expected based on the advertisement. Please be careful if you are subscribing specifically to learn Norwegian, as the course offered may not match what was advertised. I would also like to know how I can cancel my subscription and request a refund.

The app is asking for a review every time i open it. Well, here you go. There are some critical bugs: the app randomly switches between English to Spanish. From time to time it becomes slow and unresponsive. If you reject the price for a subscription, it gives you a huge discount right away.

You are trying to sell me something completely different!

i love to practice English with this app everyday and I help me a lot to learn English and understand new words, pronunciation.

Great potential, but feels like a scam. After collecting all the information, it ran an initial assessment and after that, it asked you to buy a premium subscription. Up to here, I am fine with it. I have no issue with a premium subscription if it will help me improve my English. The really shady practice is that they didn't say the premium subscription has a limit of 100 minutes per week of speaking practice, which is completely absurd. That is only about 15 minutes per day of practice.

Buyer beware! I subscribed and 2 days later got a message that I had used my 100 minutes allotted & needed to upgrade. It was not obvious that there was a limitation when I subscribed. Felt like a bait and switch. Luckily I was able to cancel.

Just started. Sounds promising. I have been using Duolingo for 3 Years, and am ready to expand my language.

I expected more from this app. 1. Voice recognition is poor with my Pixel Buds and Pixel 9 Pro XL, especially outdoors. ChatGPT understands me perfectly with the same setup. 2. Even on the easiest level, the tutor uses difficult phrases 3. It keeps interrupting with “Are you there?” while I’m trying to understand. Please add an option to disable this. 4. Ending a session is also too slow.

I'm learning Hebrew. My primary interest is in learning to read Hebrew, and I've got hearing damage. I wish there was an option to text with my tutor. That said, setting aside a few minutes a day to practice conversational Hebrew really is helping me get faster. I have a heck of a time with remembering vocabulary and generally read my Hebrew books with dictionary in hand. This is helping with that for sure.

It feels like a total scam when apps force you to pay a massive fee before you can even test the features. This app intentionally hide the actual experience behind a paywall to trap unsuspecting users.

It's great except you have to start at quite an advanced level to be able to understand anything. Great speaking practice for advanced students, though.

Wasted time and gathered my data for nothing The onboarding process takes a lot of time — it asks for my age, gender, interests, and learning preferences. But right after collecting all this personal information, it demands a subscription (monthly or annual). There is no free trial, no demo, and no way to skip it to see if the app is actually worth it. I got zero value while they got all my data. Very disappointed.

I normally cannot catch the correction because it appears and goes away quickly. Also, the conversation is limited to 15 mins, I don't have time to check if the tutor speaks a new word. This defeats the purpose of this learning app.

I purchased the 12 month membership and started yesterday. I accessed it today and it is not working plus it is asking me to purchase the membership again. There is no customer support contact.

I deleted the app in the middle of working with the questionnaire. Half of the questions are repetitive with quite doubtful proposed answers. It looks like the AI is integrated even into this 1st step and if your answer doesn't fit its expected pattern it simply starts looping.

How can this be a beginner app if you can't get past the question "which of these words do you know?" 🤦 The button is disabled until you choose a word!

I’m extremely disappointed with this app. It does not work as advertised. The voice recognition is very inaccurate and often detects sounds that I did not pronounce. Many of the exercises feel childish and are not useful for serious adult learners. The speaking practice is unrealistic, and the pronunciation detection is unreliable.

Yesterday I found that the company had implemented a weekly time limit for the account without any notifications. There were no any limits at the moment when I was buying the year subscription 4 months ago The product terms clearly stated: "FLUENTLY PREMIUM Get unlimited access to personalized AI speaking sessions, advanced feedback, and progress tracking." They 've changed the EXISTING subscription terms with a mocking limit 100 minutes a week? Now I consider this company as dishonest

App doesn't have detailed analysis of the conversation as it shows after first trial call. I bought the subscription, but when I wanted my money back – my request was rejected. I was using the app only for 5 days.

Paywall enforced, can't even try it. First they ask you a whole LOT of questions to gauge your level of the language. And when you're FINALLY done answering them they tell you you have to subscribe by paying AT LEAST $80+ before you can even try the app to see if you like it.. they give you a stupid pronunciation game to play with, which doesn't even work very well.. I think I'll stick with using chatGPT conversation mode instead of wasting my money on something I don't even know will be good

(​I'm C1) The app makes up mistakes that aren't there, gives "explanations" that have nothing to do with the error & straight-up refuses to register the way I pronounce "v." On top of that, it uses the 90-second "call" to dump job-interview-tier questions like "what's the most challenging part of your work" on you, so the timer goes off while you're still trying to think of a reply that aligns with NDA. Oh, and it said my accent is 20% British because I mentioned Great Britain in the interview.

I have only been using the app for a week, and I don’t regret purchasing the annual subscription. Chatting with the tutor is a great opportunity to practice the language, and the agent is able to talk about virtually any topic. I was surprised that when I couldn’t remember an actor’s name, it was enough to describe them and mention a few movie titles, and the agent was able to tell me who it was. In addition to conversations, the app also offers pronunciation training options and games.

I really don't recommend it, this is a scam. First they just tell you to buy a monthly subscription which is very expensive and then you find out that you have to pay additional to get the lessons which is the main point. Also, you can easily do everything this software does for free with Gemini. Their AI is even very old and outdated, it knows it's 2026 but it still thinks the US president is Joe Biden. Unfortunately I couldn't even get a refund because you need to do it within 48 hours.

It's a good attempt but the pronunciation of the AI tutor is awful. The Spanish r and rr were fleeting and only pronounced when requested. Otherwise, they sound completely American. I felt embarrassed for the bot. The pronunciation was so bad I couldn't continue. It was too distracting. So I asked for a refund of my yearly $179. They accepted, and asked for my Google Play order number, which I provided. So far, I haven't heard back. But I did get a nudge today to keep practicing my English! ??

I tried this out to see how accurate it would be, as a native English speaker (Midwestern American). When I saw they also have Spanish, I got my hopes up that this might be worthwhile. After I took the test, however, I'm thoroughly unimpressed. I scored 85%, despite being fluent in my native language. Since I mentioned that I learned Chinese, the results indicated that I have a 15% "Chinese accent". Huh, funny... no I don't. Also, everything is paid-for from the start. Just use regular AI apps.

BEWARE: Deceptive pricing and lack of features. The app advertises a reasonable monthly rate, but the moment you click it, you are instantly charged for an entire year upfront. Hey, I really like the app and the type of format it has. the analyzation is pretty good. I like the price it is giving me aswell. but as a student if I was about to pay that monthly it would be easier for me. at this moment a full years worth for payment isn't in my favor. let me know if there's a way for monthly subscription.

In spite of good functionality I constantly experience connectivity problems. AI can't speak sometimes - starts w sentence and can't finish it. Also, AI can't resolve what I said - complains that the connection is choppy. I bought a year subscription and I'm very disappointed! On top of that I'm waiting for a human support for a week - still no answer.

so far, the app has been a wonderful help to improve my english. i got new phrases and vocabularies, i got to pronounce better, and even brainstorm ideas and play work conversation simulations. It is also much cheaper and more productive than a human tutor. 1 thing that can be improved is the custom prompt. i hope the custom prompt can be saved and affect all my lessons.

I have been trying to cancel the Subscription but cant , today i was charged another $90 for subscription and i have been trying to cancel that charge but the support page is gone and there is no way to contact the company , anyone from Fluently i would request to refund the amount debited today on my card

I requested a refund immediately through both the Play Store and the app, but it was denied. This is very disappointing since it was a genuine misunderstanding. I also contacted support several times, but my request was still not reconsidered. I hope they improve their transparency and be more considerate with refund requests in situations like this.

I can't find the pronouncication section, which is what I need! Another issue is about the uncontinous connection with the server, I think, because I always hear tracher sound be pausing for about 1 to 2 second in every sentences and the same isse occurs in the opposite direction too, so the teacher always asks me the answer again and again, while another applications don't have this issue. The 30-day refund policy is misleading—Google Play and the developer keep redirecting you. I didn’t improve my English and feel like I wasted my money.
