App sucks and takes forever to load. By the time it loads anyone of concern would be long gone. It also locks up and locks in a rotated screen but that could be the phone too. Cameras themselves aren't bad besides the light feature. I dont want a bright light coming on alerting a concern outside if im trying to see whats going on. they have night vision and thats decent aswell. Been happily using this app for a couple years now, but with the latest update they are making you pay and subscribe to see any new notifications you get. A service that was previously free!! You don't take something away from a service just to charge for it again! Not good enough!!

Stopped recording 10/25/26. Unsure what happened after app updates but I stopped getting notifications of people walking by, deliveries at my door, etc. It was working fine this whole year until the date mentioned.

the videos are good, but they don't capture everything. I've had activity NOT show up. Like someone digging through my car and people in my yard. I pay for a subscription, too. Sometimes I get notifications, most the time (if I do) they are 3 hours to a day later. I have received notifications around 12 to 24 hours after the event. I was going to buy more cameras but at this point I am not. we park behind the house. neither camera picked up activity multiple times.

I wish before I bought these. I didn't have to take them down and charge them. It's kind of annoying

I don't like that my security cam recordings to SD are limited and that the subscription service wants me to subscribe to their cloud service. So I'm replacing different security cameras like Reolink that are not dependent on the Vicohome app. So I won't have to pay for a subscription to view my own SD recordings.

Two days before my free month expired I canceled the subscription because I felt the price was too high for one camera. Two days later, they changed my credit card anyway and they will not respond to my request for them to reverse the transaction. I have to dispute the transaction with my credit card company. I should have stayed with Simplisafe.

why can I no longer see recorded video on events? this is a feature that was included and a selling point that made me decide to purchase your camera. if I have to subscribe to get a feature that it was sold with and was selling point, then you need to refund my hardware purchase so I can use a product from someone who does not rip me off by taking away product features and putting them behind a paywall.

I loved these cameras until they made you pay to record video. This used to be free. They are pretty useless now unless you pay for the subscription. I'm ready to buy other cameras.

Used to love this app, but changes in the past few days have completely ruined the experience. You used to be able to see video clips without a paid subscription, but now it's only static thumbnail photos. On top of that, they are flooding my phone with endless notifications for the slightest movements as a tactic to pressure users into buying the paid subscription. I've gotten more alerts in the last two days than I have in months. It feels like they've completely sold out. Very disappointing.

I like the app it's very handy, but now it will not let me play the videos without paying for the subscription so I'll just delete it now because it's not useful anymore.

fairly useless, only captures things after they've gone, at night only records as and when it feels like it, customer support is woeful, keep sending instructions i all have. trying to cancel my subscription, finding it very hard.

It was great for 2 years until they sent me a notice saying Cloud storage is going away in 3 days and you must pay for a subscription service. I would avoid this app and these cameras, and this company entirely. pure chineseium garbage, rip-off, bait and switch.

Great battery life between charges. Good sensor detection & video recording, however I can no longer find the sensitivity settings. As with most security Cams it constantly solicits you to subscribe to their Cloud service. I use only the local MicroSD.

I purchased these cameras with the promise that they would record video for 10 or 20 seconds per trigger. now they want to charge me to upgrade or else it just gives me a still picture. I feel defrauded. Storage doesn't cost what they want to charge for the upgrade. Deceptive practices.

So it seems that all of the issues I was seeing have been resolved. Connectivity issues seem to be resolved, and the app is now stable and appears to work perfectly as of 10/19/26.

I have 4 cameras and they work great with the app. Only 2 issues one is having to bring the cameras in to recharge about once a month and the other issue is my husband and I both can't be logged on at the same time. It bumps the other person off when you open the app to look at the cameras.

I've been having trouble with recordings which are not appearing, I've sent messages for help but Noone responds. I think it's time for a new camera.

the cameras work fine, which is why I'm not giving this a 1 star. It's the app that sucks. it didn't always suck. It used to be fine. But lately when you open it, the screen is taken up by an ad that isn't obviously an ad, telling you that you need to install updates. If you press that, you'll end up downloading what is probably spyware on your phone. To open the actual app, you have to press a tiny strip on the very top of the screen. in other words, it is intentionally deceptive.

I have used these cameras for years. I use them in my dog room to monitor the animals. Recently it just stopped recording anything at all. I never changed any settings I just went into the app to see which one of my dogs peed on the floor and zero videos. Camera is pointless if it doesn't record. This is now trash, guess I will be shopping for a new camera. Do not recommend

Is anyone having an issue with camera being offline? Wish I never renewed...right after 1 year this started glitching. Router and wifi nearby 3rd time camera goes offline for no reason in less then 1 month.

If you bought cameras that require this app RETURN THEM IMMEDITALY. all of the sudden my cameras wont record video, only pictures, unless I pay extra for cloud streaming.

camera stopped working just after 1 year and 2 weeks. And they would refunf any subscription cost. And the camera goes offline alll the time even though the router is just 10 feet away.

Review update they turned off videos entirely and only takes pictures when an event happens now. False advertising and doesnt record video. do not buy this product it isba scam. Update made cloud only record when motion happens even if you set it to 20 seconds. Now I get 6 seconds of video and have no idea what's going on. Not cool at all after so long.

Paid for a cloud subscription in mid-September but the app shows expired. Frontline support (Ticket #2208151) has completely ignored multiple emails and in-app messages containing my serial number and transaction records. Do not buy subscriptions here, they take your money and cut off support.

This camera and app worked very well until now. they recently changed things all of a sudden without warning. Before, I was able to see 10-20 second clips of who or what came to my door. Vico now disabled that and want you to pay or subscribe to watch it. There is a thumbnail but this lack of a feature is making the camera basically pointless unless you subscribe to their cloud services. nlt worth it in my opinion when there are so many other services out there for free or lower rates.

We found this wireless camera to be reliable and all weather funtional.

I canceled the very day they notified me that they would be billing me. They ACTUALLY BILLED ME FOR 1 MORE YEAR !!!!! CAN'T BE TRUSTED !!!! THEY NEED TO CORRECT THEIR ERROR, AND DO IT NOW.

After 4.5 years with two security cameras by VicoHome, they changed the service. For the first 4.5 years, when the cameras were triggered, we would see a few seconds of video, which would disappear from the video library, if we didn't want to download them. Now, the cameras just give a still image when triggered, but most of the time, regardless of sensitivity setting, by the time it snaps tge picture (if it does at all), there is nothing there. Dumping these cameras & changing brands.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS SERVICE!!! We used this app at work for a year with a paid subscription, but decided that it wasn't in the budget for this year. I canceled the subscription but was still charged for the upcoming year. They don't seem to be willing to refund, and worse, the customer service rep keeps acting like its a camera tech issue. I've made it abundantly clear that the cameras work and we just need the refund because we were charged for the subscription after canceling.

It is incredibly frustrating when a company locks features behind a paywall after you have used them for four years without issues. i have bought the physical hardware under the agreement of free viewing, and changing those rules later feels entirely unfair. Time to find a new camera!

Stopped delivering notifications, doesn't trigger when it should, clips freeze in the middle, not just on playback, but they download that way. Absolute trash.

I bought four cameras a little over two years ago. Yesterday I had enough and unintalled them and threw the in the trash. They worked fine for the first month or so, but recurring problems including the battery requiring recharging every few days, and it takes around 12 hours to recharge them. Worse than that, after a couple of days, they would connectivity with my phone, so I had to go to each camera and reboot them manually to restore coverage. That doesn't work when you're traveling obviously

these cameras were great, when they were free to use. now the app wants to charge a subscription to use the cameras and we have 7 of them. can view live feed but can't view videos that the cameras records.

everything was fine it was a great service until they put the video of your cameras behind a pay wall. we will be replacing our cameras immediately. 0 stars.

Quality definitely dropped significantly with the updates. When I first got my system it was user-friendly and perfection. When I updated it thinking I needed to, it has not worked the same since. The company decided it would be good to put ads on the app. And then force you to upgrade to a monthly service to get rid of adds. I bought the camera why do I have ads? Crooked business practices. Started great but they got greedy. Can't seem to have the option to recorde to sd even though one is installed and they force you into a paid subscription. Kind of a sony move. Taking away an option that you already paid for.

We have invested in 5 cameras. we pay for the multi devices. my husband shares the cameras with me thru his app. I have to have my own app for me to take a quick look at alarms when I need to but the advertisement make the experience and downloads that happen when I need to see something quick and important. we have an 87 year old family member who lives with us and this is life threatening if i have to go through advertisements to get to her when one of us has paid the multi device fee.

I have 3 cameras, 2 of the 3 are okay. I have to constantly restart them to work properly.

Now requires a paid subscription. Going to replace camera.

Having a full-screen ad pop up when opening an app for HOME SECURITY is a terrible decision. I understand that if I do not pay there will be ads, but they should not be impeding upon my ability to check my cameras right away if I hear a noise outside my house.

Badly distored sound on recorded audio-video clips. time frame are screwed, sound buzzing. I got the issues since updates. no solutions yet. Even cleared cache, hard reset camera, re-installed app. same issues of buzzing and distored sound on recored live view clips.

Difficult to download ...not good

Does not work well on Night vision maybe people or animals within 6 or 10 feet Motion dection is very spotty. People and large animals can walk by the camera undected. Vechiles like the Amazon delivery can come and go undecteded. Camera storage won't stay set to SD card always defaulting to cloud. The camera and app combo is very disappointing. Purchased e cameras and the largestSD Cards the cameras could accept s far have been a waste of money. Apear to be forced to purchase the cloud storage.

I owned five (5) indoor "Security Cameras" set-up throughout our house for quite a while. Then, VicoHome IMPOSED their expensive paid plans. I couldn't even get into the camera functions without first encountering EXTREMELY LOAD (in volume) outrageous adds (non-VicoHome or even related products) that needed to be circumvented; security was the furthest thing from 'VH' sales reps that imposed the extremely loud garbage adds. I finally removed All of their cameras & AP!!!

Makes me watch ads when I'm trying to see what's going on outside, makes me pay subscription fee each month just for video clips should come with it. Used to be ok now they're just asking for more money in return you get less. Cameras constantly going offline and not connected to Wi-Fi. Worst cameras. Cant rely on these for security. ads block access to cameras for 30 to 90 seconds when you open the app, video is now locked with subscriptions along with the ad pop ups you get sign up for subscription before you get access to see you cameras and now you don't get video of your cameras unless you pay you only get a screen shot notification,poor app, was ok but now it's a money grab and I will be throwing these away

When I launch the app I immediately see a fraudulent ad saying my account has been hacked and that I need to install some other app to fix it. How can the developer allow these ads on their app? Totally unacceptable.

The app and cameras are both junk...lol I just lowered my rating 3 to one star. They kept pushing you to buy their cloud but I never did because I use the SD cards. It would be a -5 stars if I could. 1st these cameras are not the best. You can't even put a bigger SD card only 32G. It is so slow it has missed me. The app was bad enough now they added ads. I only use these cameras for my different animals I live on a farm. Now every time I open it you have those ads and I have to wait. GREEDY !!!!

the cameras are the cameras that's the best I can say they tend to pick up a whole lot of nothing there will be a 15-second video and it will say at the bottom in the description that there is a black truck parked in the driveway but no activity detected well why in the hell did you record for 15 seconds then

I love my cameras and the app with it but I don't understand why I have to purchase something now just to watch my 10 second videos now. I was content and happy with what I had.

They added full screen unskippable ads on app startup. You know, when you get a camera alert and want to immediately see what's going on, but instead you have to sit and wait for the ad to be over first. Glad I got the camera for free so I can toss it in the trash and get another brand instead.

Do not buy from this POS company! Big advise for anyone,,, buy a camera with rstp so when the company goes corrupt like this one you can use 3rd party programs like frigate and still make use of the cameras. App requires paid membership in order to provide basic features like pet notifications. After two years you get hit with ads delaying access to cameras.

Their cameras are pretty good, clean images and fairly good video, though it can be really choppy at times. 09/14 2 updates ago something changed to where the volume button no longer controls the audio from the camera. The "lowest setting" is obscenely loud and screaming kids is bad enough for the eardrums. Imagine that times 4... theres also the issue of the cameras suddenly not picking up motion? had someone roll into my driveway and scare the bajesus out of me because the cameras didnt go off

Every time you open this app, your entire phone screen will be covered by an ad that you then have to click past. I understand that developing a maintaining an app is not free, but there are better ways to implement ads than a full screen ad with a tiny "continue to app" button in the upper corner.

First, when needing to save a default position for the camera the app makes you go back to Home, then back to the camera navigation options before trying to make any other changes to settings. And most glaringly, never displays the actual movement in the clips. Shows only a empty after image with multiple clips as a subset. As such, one has to WADE THROUGH multiple time slots to find the actual motion being captured!!! A SERIOUS FLAW! Now 3rd party ads in the app!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!?????

The app is actually awesome, but... 1st off I love how it doesn't intentionally make SD storage or video viewing difficult or glitchy so you're forced to buy cloud subscription. -Here's the problem, there's basically no additional security options or actual event logs from your devices, no way of telling if they're being hacked. -You can't remotely restart your camera from what I've found either. - Settings in general are very vague, limited and basic, nothing advanced. -no proxy options, etc

Actually Astonished! I bought a solar powered outdoor camera for my driveway. It was about $16 on sale on Amazon. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much out of it and I was assuming the monthly plan would be outrageous (as some are ridiculous). To my surprise, I've had it set up for about 6 months now. The quality is amazing, the cloud storage is fantastic. The monthly fee is less than RING. The detailed description AI feature saves me time watching through some videos. IMPRESSED 👍

I have used their cameras and app for years, unfortunately a month or 2 ago they started having advertisements in the app. I decided to tolerate it for now. Today, they require a subscription to see rather short motion detected videos. without a subscription you only get 1 picture. this effectively makes it the worse app i have used or currently use for security. now I will need to change out some cameras that no longer have video protection. Now there are better options out there.

Don't support these corrupt asian junk sellers! They now violate USA laws to put free features behind a paywall after they were included with the sale (Bait + Switch). Camera misses important events now, cuts to 1 sec videos with people moving. Reported their corrupt, malicious ads that claim your phone is damaged and must download a PUP/malware. Very corrupt, dishonest ppl, like their 5 star reviews! It doesn't connect to any smart systems, battery lasts 1 wk after 1yr.! Reported to AG and FTC!

easy to install

this app in unsafe. when checking my camera I should be able to see who is in my yard, home, or at the door immediately. the first thing this app makes you do is watch an add. complete unsafe. this should be illegal.

Open app and immediately get hit with an add about how my phone is infected with a virus from looking at adult videos... I'd recommend trying to find a different camera.

Camera Good, Service and App BAD

Pretty good, but two big issues. * Brightness can't be adjusted. * You can't adjust where each camera is in the app. Camera arrangement is a basic and 1st need. Their solution, to remove all cameras and set them all up again, in the reverse order you want them. For such a good camera app, lacking this function seems senseless. I will add 1 star extra on the rating for each of these fized. PLEASE ADD the ability to organize the cameras.

garbage camera and app it disconnected from my wifi and no matter what i do it won't connect back. Useless piece of junk

used to work fine now it crashes anytime I try to view events or click on specific cameras . thinking of switching

Great camera, easy setup

The app was fine, sometimes slow to respond, but now I'm getting scam ads when I open it. The cameras work well so I hope they do something about the terrible ads.

I'm removing the cameras because I can no longer view any playback without upgrading. Buyers beware!

ads have ruined this app! when you need to open it in a hurry and you can't do it in time because of all the intrusive ads, and their deceptive, you hit the x to get out of it it takes you right to the Play store I will never buy another product from this company. when I first got this camera years ago and I should have reported this to Amazon they sent me a postcard in the mail if I gave them five stars they will send me a me a gift card, don't trust the reviews

Decent cameras. But now after having paid for these, why am I watching ads to look at the app and see my recordings. This is ridiculous! Quit with the ads or I'm going to another service.

In the beginning, the free service worked well. But after a while, the camera became less sensitive to movement, despite the settings. The app became more difficult to customize. Then the ads came. They were generally harmless, at first, and easy to back out of. Then I saw an ad that was threatening, telling me my account had been suspended due to scores of virus attacks - there was no apparent disclaimer and reminded me of spam in the early days of the Internet. It was unpleasant to wake up to.
