Train UK provides terrible services. They sold me a non-refundable, non-changeable ticket without making this clear. Their services benefit themselves, not the public. I arrived 8 minutes late and was asked to pay another £31, which I couldn't afford. They refused to refund my ticket or offer a free replacement. This is an absolute disgrace. I had an appointment at the Romanian Consulate in Birmingham, but because of Trainpal, I had to cancel everything.

It's good but trying to reserve a seat is frustrating. You pick an available seat but it keeps on saying its sold out and it'll allocate you one but doesn't tell you which. Why show me available seat but not let me reserve it?

This app is just a price scam. Went to book a ticket from Euston with Avanti. To compare I had Trainpal and Avanti running side by side. Avanti quoted £74.50 and Trainpal £68. Happy to proceed I clicked "checkout". As if by magic there was a sudden price increase to £73!! Similar has happened with other family members. To double check, I refreshed the Avanti page to see how much their price went up and who would believe it but still £74.50? Book direct, earn loyalty points and choose a seat.

fundamentally broken, can't enter any station names, stays stuck on London and Manchester. tried to provide feedback in the app and got a permanent spinning logo. useless.

Avoid using this app to buy a railcard. The Download button doesn’t work and you can only display the Railcard within the Trainpal app (so presumably only when you have data). Also, when booking tickets the prices kept changing as I was looking at it. It was a painful experience and I will not use it again

I bought tickets from this app, and I couldn't access my return ticket, it was saying cancelled, I waited to see if any change and nothing, and because it was a wet and rainy day and I was in distress, I had to buy another ticket to go home, and I have contacted them and for a week now nothing has been done, no refund , no nothing, I am a person, who is struggling and not alot of money in hand, I need something to be done , if I could rate 0.00000100, I will because this is unfair,

This app saves me money and is easy to navigate. Overall a very easy experience.

I found it impossible to buy a zone 1-6 London travelcard with this app even when I chatted with an agent. The options they told me for the tickets just weren't there. I ran out of time before my train came so ended up spending almost twice as much on my travel and tube because of this app!

very disappointing company. I feel frustrated that I only just know that they are scam and frustrating. They can not be trusted.

App is OK and generates tickets, but too many spam features and pop-ups designed to squeeze more money out of you. AI chat bots are not helpful and just repetitive when trying to get help. Surcharges and fees bolted on reduce overall savings. Recommend using other (more established) apps instead.

been using this app 4 about 3 months now I use this at least once a week. I travel to Birmingham and back to Liverpool a lot. The first time I tried to book an open return it shud have cost me £47.00 however the app advised me 2 book single tickets which means it actually cost me £23.00 which is a big saving. I now book all my tickets this way. I have now advised a couple of friends to download an use the app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who travels frequently or even occasional

Poor UI and over promises on train ticket deals. Weird games take you to dodgy sites and waste your time.

the exchange process is a little clunky but all In all a good app.

Always double check- when searching for an open return ticket it changes to the cheapest ticket. The app is not dyslexic friendly by adding this into the search and changing you originally think you are looking for. Always double check

who doesn't like discounts on train tickets

I use trainpal for all my trips and have done for 2 years now. Never a problem, always easy to use, and prices are spot on. highly recommended

absolutely disappointing by customer service, only got £3.59 saving using the £25 trainpal card, I felt It was misleading that it was £25 credit. I won't be using this app again! even after speak to the bot after asking it 12 times to speak to a agent, all I got was policy says we can't refund the difference, wasted £21.41 in end. felt like it didn't save anything just double my train fare instead!

We got a delay from one of the train companies another cancelled . Nobody cares. All together 75minutes. I'm unable to drive, because the medicine I take.. 19month frozen left arm no surgery nothing happening, mean not much.. Of course it is my problem but ,how many people can't claim back what the ticket cost with families old people's or young families with kids... NHS collapsed all over the world , Train companies are almost useless ( from time to time)..

Terrible customer service. When something goes wrong with your booking, don't expect help or a refund. Your money is gone, and nobody takes responsibility. Save yourself the hassle and use another app. TrainPal, please spare me the standard copy-paste response explaining why it's not your fault.

Hello, I used TRAINPAL when booking a trip from Dundee to Cromer yesterday (24/10/26) and it was easy to follow information. TRAINPAL also alerted me in advance of disruption beforehand which enabled me to make alternative arrangements.

This app is quite user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and find great deals and discounts on train travel. The app simplifies the process of scanning in and out at train stations.

The best in the business

Easy to use. 98% of the time it will find the best and cheapest fare for you. I like the way the app follows your journey and will even tell you if you are entitled to delay repay for your journeys. Always my first place to go when planning a journey and will automatically take care of split ticketing if that option is cheaper. There are a rare few occasions that you can find a journey cheaper than trainpal, but it is very rarely.

unhappy. been a really good app for cheaper travel until today. bought tickets last night, all of them as advanced singles, only to find out had I booked in the day it would have been an extra 5 pound. on the day tickets would have given me total flexibility, when I purchased the advanced ticket, they wanted to charge me nearly an extra 30 quid. live and learn, but I'm really disappointed with this.

Absolutely horrible train got cancelled paid double what I was told asked to get a refund for the cancelled train and they want me to go through elaborate steps just to receive my money such as pay for postage to post those tickets back costing me extra money on top of the extra I have already spent. Paid 16 one time for the train to get cancelled and ended up paying £50 just in tickets

the discounts/cheapness of the tickets aren't necessarily grand but they make me feel like I'm spending less money, so I'll give it credit for that. minus a star because I got an email that my train was delayed and panicked except that it wasn't and on the email it said the exact same times but just.. twice? (your train (07:00) was delayed to (07:00) for example)

The app is really poor in terms of functionality when there's intermittent or no connection.. as is often the case when going through countryside/tunnels etc on a train. Developers need to factor this in more. Infuriatingly it often fails to bring up the same ticket just used minutes before to get through the ticket gate. And yet it's a 1 GB app!

Still horrible. I just missed my train because the app refused to load my railcard so I couldn't buy the ticket. Admittedly it's easier to find where the railcard ought to be than it used to be. Original review: Absolutely horrible. I just got it for a Railcard, but finding the Railcard on the app is a nightmare. Every time. I'm convinced the button moves. Last time I had to go through the 'buy a Railcard' option to get to the Railcard I'd already bought.
