it's a collection of individual tools. it's good for learning new vocabulary but it's somewhat funny when they teach you the very basic vocabulary but then give you a very advanced sentence to use it in 🙂 There is no learning plan, no reviews, you have to do it on your own by doing the same lessons again. The tools are not all that useful either. Flash cards for example show you the picture and the word so there is not much learning. I found the AI repetitive and got tired of it.

Come applicazione, molto brava, per quanto riguarda il sistema di pagamento mi sono sentito deluso, perche aveva scelto un nuovo pagamento con la condizione di ricevere uno sconto, ma invece, alla fine mi hanno scontato lo stesso valore anteriore, il cui non volevo pagare in realtà. Il peggio di tutto è che inviano una mail dicendo che il pago si farà con questa riduzione, e infatti non è stato così.

Ça a l'air pas mal, mais à peine l'appli ouverte pour la première fois, on se fait harceler par des propositions d'abonnement premium. Je ne sais même pas à quoi ressemble l'appli ?? Ça refroidit l'enthousiasme... ensuite, ce n'est pas du tout adapté aux débutants, c'est plutôt pour les gens qui ont déjà des bases en conversation.

Kindly add the diacritical marks on the Arabic text. They're essential for learning Arabic grammar. Also, it would be better to count a day's streak based on completing (at least) an exercise, instead of counting the number of minutes we've stayed on the app.

I am finding the interactive chat conversation so good. The best bit is allowing me to understand my pronunciation.

I just started using this and have no problems. If I had the money I would definitely pay for permium. I get to practice this choice of language verbally and it hears me and reponds, building my confidence to speak it and understand others response.

if you want to try before you pay a sub it's not possible ... and the only option to use in so called free mode is stupid .... it speaks to you like you know your target language without a translation ... basic word teaching is locked behind a subscription pay wall ... I am going to uninstall and look for a different app that gives you a real free trial without locking things behind premium subscription pay wall ...

very aggressive marketing with a message about every 2 hours. I installed the app because I wanted to give it a try when I had somewhat more time, but now I am bombarded with messages. So now I am considering deleting the app because the aggressive marketing I most definitely don't like the way Talkpal approaches their customers.

I tried this app to improve my language skills. Unfortunately, a lot of the alleged mistakes I made, aren't mistakes in the first place. The app will cite a part of a sentence and display the exact same as "correct" one. Also it can't seem to spot spaces, punctuation or any other special symbol. But the different kinds of learning are great and I'm pretty sure, it'll improve. I'll use it until my free trial runs out, though. Maybe my point of view will change until then :)

It takes a while to get the hang of it. I first thought it was better suited for more advanced learners, and a lot of it is. But once you figure out you can tailor it for your level of learning, it has turned out to be one of the best learning apps I have tried, and I have tried a lot.

Only teaches Thai for female speakers. unfortunately it's not possible to tell the app that I'm a male speaker so the app tries to teach me to speak like a woman. it would be a really great app if that could be done.

Very poor speech recognition. I've tried Cantonese, Mandarin and French, and Talkpal frequently mishears me, sometimes capturing only a few words or producing completely different sentences. It then marks me wrong and corrects things I never said, even when my speech was correct. Other apps and captioning software recognise me accurately, so this is a Talkpal-specific problem. Accurate recognition is essential for language learning. Please fix this!

Unbelievably difficult for a beginner. The "word" mode never lets you learn words because you're too busy choking down sentences of other words you don't know so you never remember. Doesn't teach any sentence structure or tenses or grammatical rules it just assumes you know that already. the AI chat is kinda cool, really the only thing worth it.

I'm trying the free version, which is extremely limited, but I really like it. However, I do wish they used the Chinese alphabet instead of the PingYing, esp if you choose the traditional Chinese to learn. Or, at least have the option to choose which "alphabet" you want -- just like the Chinese option if simplified or traditional. Note: I FINALLY FOUND AN APP THAT TEACHES TRADITIONAL CHINESE!!! Do you know how difficult it is to find?!! So, Thank you!! Trying the trial version next.

Talkpal is one of the best language learning apps for its price. You can even try it free for 14 days, and there are plenty of topics to explore. The only thing I miss—and hope will be added in the future—is real-time pronunciation correction. For example, I’d like to say a sentence, hear the AI pronounce it correctly, and then be asked to repeat it until I get the pronunciation right.

I installed the app to learn Irish, but it asks me to describe pictures and have conversations. I write in English, and the app says it is not Irish. Of course it is not Irish, because I do not have a clue how to speak Irish. When my mother taught me my native language, she told me to listen and corrected me after I tried to have conversations. This app does not do that at all.

The app has nothing to offer for the free user. you only got 10 minutes of talking to an AI and that includes pauses and writing. all of the course material is locked behind premium membership. the app instantly tries to sell you a membership before you've even started a single lesson. this app is useless for free users. I am not going to pay for something that I cannot even test properly.

I wanted to like this app but it's awful. it's almost impossible for new speakers. several other reviews have pointed out the major flaws. the app tries to get you to say long complex sentences right at the beginning. Learning Thai you need to learn the tones. there is none of that. don't waste your money.

Hi. Everything seems great,but the thing is u gotta ensure that both the call n chat feature AI should be able to understand instructions given to it properly. I'm at A1 level in French but even after explicitly informing the AI to provide A1 or beginner level, the verbiage is all of A2 level or above. Similar issues with all other features like dialogue, photo, debates and character modes as well. Even that should be adjusted based on levels.

And constantly reminding me to finally turn on notifications is annoying too. Furthermore, the program is extremely sluggish; if you want to listen to a word again, often nothing happens at all or only after 10 seconds.
