sometime it crashes,some songs could not be played

really like retro music player it has a really clean premium look. but It not having a "folders" viewing tab is a deal breaker. alot of my music file is arranged In folders and not being able to view in that way is majorly inconvenient.

Love this lightweight app to play all my music I have on iTunes without plugging in an iPod to my car. However, the shuffle algorithm leaves a lot to be desired. I have 17GB worth of music but I'm very often hearing the same songs more frequently than I should every time I drive.

Very Good Music App I Ever Seen

notification problem in android 9.

There's an option to blacklist folders you don't want scanned, which is cool, but there's no option to whitelist the folders you *do* want scanned. You can whitelist the /Music folder (which is not where any of my music is). I'm not changing directories for over forty thousand songs so the app can't really do anything for me.

vertical display mode folder view bottom item blocked by player hover. Folder number sorting is broken that after 1 it's 10 not 2. Background playback pauses automatically then immediately resume at long silence. Notification centre control could simply disappear sometimes 😅. For a music player not a video player, I'd like music continue playing when I tilt the device from vertical display mode to landscape mode. Currently it pauses on such occasion.

Only displays like 1% of my music library, with no way to select a specific directory.

I like the app overall but the only thing I don't like is the fact that the app continues to run in the background. I have to manually force close it so it doesn't tax my battery as much.

This music app is perfectly fine but it seems like it won't show the album art for my mp3 (album art format is 1200 x 1200 .png) so it's a little tedious to look for my songs because the album cover helps me easily figure out which one is which, overall it's perfectly fine but if you have high quality album cover resolution it's probably not going to show up. it seems that 999 x 999 .jpg works just fine but I'm not redoing all the album art for my songs just for one MP3 player.

I love this app even went pro, but I'm running into a issue does anyone know how to fix it. When I exit the app while it playing music even if no audio pops up if it go to a new song before I get back it will play in the background on mute until I realize some time very quickly and rewind back to the start of the song. sometimes I read comics and I need this to play without this interruption if possible. If this is a issue I the apps end then I would like to know.

This is a terrific music listening app where you can listen to any locally stored music files. The only thing(s) I can think of that could make it better is being able to sort the playlist by artist, song name, etc. via a drop down menu, customize the font used & if the widget(s) could add an option to repeat once or on a loop. Other than that, it is a very great app for listening to locally stored music files with.

Nearby Devices permission is mandatory which i don't like, it should be optional . Music player is good, but it's have a problem i.e unable to play music from playlist.

All thing is good but a problem I noticed is when lyrics is available it shows it but lyrics isn't available in the Meta tag, there should be option to search the lyrics and copy paste in the tag. All music players offers this feature. Other than this it's good.

Still have terrible support for FLAC files. First it was random skips during them. Not it just freezes mid song and it isn't clear why or which FLAC it'll affect. I wanna use this, but I just can't. It's been like this for over a year now.

Very good but there is no FOLDER option.

no ability to sort my music by folders. only by artist or albums. when sorted by albums, some albums get split into two, so one of them appears as two. sometimes three. installed and uninstalled in just a few minutes.

its a great app, 5☆ plays music just as its supposed to, however after the update- audio randomly disappears, it shows its playing but produces no audio it also loses audio when transitioning to the next song until you open it back up even after allowing unltd battery and other exceptions. until this bug is fixed It might be better to use a different music player. update after 1 yr,background playing still notnfixed, it plays but ko music is produced.

Needs more bug fixes. Always runs in the background despite adjusting the settings... Doesn't matter if we stop it from within it's menu, use the swipe close, or hide it within it's notifications, it keeps popping up and always requires a force stop or phone restart. It's the only app that acts like this and it ignores its own settings.

gotta say I really like and enjoy this music player. I've had the original Google music player before that got combined with YouTube and a couple of other music apps over the years but with the music being on my phone the app automatically knows the artists and the mechanics are really easy to learn I think the only thing that'd be really cool is having the ability to favorite an album

Вылетает при попытке перенастроить обложки, вылетает просто в случайные моменты, и самое странно — упорно не хочет воспроизводить нормальные файлы, говорит что битые. Притом что они воспроизводятся, но только не этим приложением. Не знаю, что вы там навертели, но изучите пожалуйста проблему, потому что пользоваться становится просто невозможно.

It seems absurd to me that the preinstalled apps on today’s phones come with ads (Xiaomi). This was the music player that truly met my expectations — it doesn’t need a thousand transitions or ads, it’s simply functional. And this is my step toward leaving Spotify and going back to my old music collection. I’ll be more than happy to pay for the premium subscription in a few weeks.

its a great app, but i have a problem with the metadata of my songs, there's songs that have more than just one artist and the app doesn't understand that and doesn't separate the artists list and create a new artist with both artist names like this: "artist1,artist2", also if the album starts with a song with two different artists its just the same issue, it took the both artists names as one and use it as the artist name of the album.

I am sick and tired of this app hijacking my notification panel. When I swipe an app away to close it, it should actually close! Instead, this broken media widget gets permanently glued to my screen like a zombie, showing a totally blank player that just says 'Retro Music is running.' What is the point of having an 'X' button on the widget if tapping it does absolutely nothing?! It just instantly pops right back up. Fix it or I'm uninstalling and finding a player that actually works.

The UI in this app is great, and it pretty much has everything I'm looking for in a music player app! ...if only it wasn't so buggy. There are frequent crashes, and sometimes it won't even function with the stock Android music UI, showing no notification. I'll have to go elsewhere.

When adding a playlist to the queue, the app separates the playlist into albums instead of keeping it in sequence.

The UI still gets laggy sometimes. Doesn't affect playback. Customization is pleasant. Tiny now playing theme doesn't support lyrics. These mall improvements to user experience will make the experience unparalleled. 17.4.2026

When editing a user, changing the background image or profile picture causes the "X" and "✔" buttons to be obstructed by the status bar, making them unclickable.

My Retro Music app is crashing immediately after opening on my Samsung A16 5G. What is the solution?

I really love the UI and how aesthetically pleasing it is, it worked just fine but by hour 2 after using it, I was editing the songs when the app suddenly crashed. It was fine at first because I could open the app again but after 3 or 4 more crashes, it's keeping me from opening the app again. Please fix this, I was really happy seeing the features it provides and I intend to use it as my main music player :<

Best looking UI in all the offline music apps I've tried, but is missing an important feature: multiple artists support. If a song has a featuring, the artists will be "artist A, artist B"; the app creates a new artist called "artist A, artist B" instead of dividing the 2. So if you enter the artist section in the app, you will have a lot of artist profiles that are just couples of artists and it all becomes messy. I'll be happy to give 5 stars if this gets fixed

I have tried a ton of music apps and found them frustrating, this one is great and works beautifully... If you're not playing flac files. It'll play them but if for any reason you want to skip along, you'll get an error message as it can't do it.

it's a pretty good app. the only problem is that it doesn't support wav files and etc. if it did support those other audio formats it would really make it look better.

hands down the best music player. The only thing I'd like a change to is that the playback speed and pitch can't go past 1.05 without sounding distorted. If there's a way to smooth out or refine, it would be a much appreciated addition.

it's a great music app!! . . . when it works. unfortunately, it REALLY likes to repeatedly crash and just . . . not work. the only fix I've found so far is to reinstall the app, but you have to redo all of your settings because there's no real"account" system. I already love it a lot, so I hope these issues get fixed <3

Love the clean and minimal UI. My only issue is the lyrics display—lyrics don’t open directly in the synced-style view. I hope future updates make the lyrics use the synced layout by default, even for non-synced lyrics, for a more consistent experience.

No gapless audio - Crashing on Bigme B6 after changing settings I really like the visual layout of this app. I also like that they seem like the underdog if you search online for offline/local music players and see many other players recommended on reddit and forums. I understand that I may have a different experience, since I'm using a ,4GB ram eink device, but in the 4 days I've been playing around with this app, I've had multiple crashes when changing settings and going back to playingmusic

it is the best app with UI & UX in offline category I want to give feedback for some things if it can be added experience will become more beautiful 1. lyrics font size optio. ( more themes can be added it looks bland ) 2. pause while decreasing the volume rather than directly 3. New themes for now playing theme. Especially Peek theme is good but it should be bigger or we can adjust it 4. Can edit artist name in artist section & for song too so it shows the name of the artist.

I've been looking for the right music player for too long and this one is it. It has a solid UI, easily customizable, has a built in tag editor to add album art or other details. I don't have any complaints about it, and I think it's well worth the 1 or 2 USD that the dev is asking for the pro version. I would ask the dev for three things: some more advanced features in the tag editor, the ability to hide artists and albums (to reduce clutter of misc. artists), and a desktop version.

There is an issue where notification never fanishes, even when swiped away or not playing music for a long time. This is filed on GitHub as #1918 but never got resolved. Also the 6.6.0 update still isn't showing for users despite the release happening last month.

I hope you will add in the future the possibility of changing playlist cover and an highlight of the song you're currently listening. Btw great great app

Please add replay gain support, at least for FLAC files. Currently using with android auto is quite annoying with fluctuating volume levels, I have to constantly adjust

Functional and beautiful music playing app. The only issue I am experiencing is that it's not possible to pick a profile image; the confirm icon is too far into the upper edge of the screen and isn't tappable. I'm running a Google Pixel 10 Pro.
