great ui and lots of variety with the option to make my own variant. it even has a move by move break down at the end of a match so you can see mistakes. great fun

amazing app, but I would givit it 5 stars if I could play my custom variants online, or at least actually post them... also, PLEASE ADD DRAW BY INSUFICIENT MATIRIAL!!!!!! 3/4 of my losses are me resigning instead of playing the 50 moves after what should have been a draw, so please please PLEASE ADD DRAWN BY INSUFFICIENT MATERIAL AT LEAST FOR CHECKMATE games!!! then I will give 5 stars.

it dosent have some specific promotion option if a peice only has one promotion and another has a diffrent one this game won't let that happen I realised this when I was creating shogi

Since it won't let me see any changes without signing up I can't say if it's good. It also makes it annoying putting so much info on each page that isn't needed. We don't need know basic chess rules when trying to edit.

The bots on hard and higher are literally impossible to defeat. They use the same moves everytime and it feels like it's a literal cheat engine. It doesn't make mistakes, like, ever, which is literally just a cheat engine cause how do you expect people to win against bots if they always counter EVERYTHING? It's impossible to play without playing with other people instead of a fun game with bots.

The game is pretty fun, but why do you have to SIGN IN to save your projects? This is unnecessary. Other then that, this is fun.

This is quite fun but it takes ages in finding other players to play with so can you please add bot mode so you can play with bots for fun

Amazing but it has problems. Firstly Too many ads. It takes ages to do anything. Secondly, You have to pay irl to buy piece designs. It makes it hard for f2p players to enjoy. Overall, it is pretty good other than that. Just need more free to play and it might overcome chesscraft, bit till then, download chesscraft instead.

Pretty good app, but it has flaws that make it hard to give a good review. Firstly, the app is insanely unoptimized and lags a lot during usage. Secondly, the UI is also horribly designed and makes it so you can't save or do anything without clicking like 70 times and then getting an Ad. Thirdly, the app crashes and/or freezes a lot when handling larger boards.

Great app....but it hangs when you go to another app screen and return back to it....you literally have to end the particular match u were on and begin another one....but will still hang again if you switch screen for another app n return back to it

AI cheats alot. If you use black the computer will make your 1st move for you instead of you making your own move. Further into the game the computer will disallow you to make a legal move seemingly because it would give you a strategic advantage. Other than that I would love it. Needs 1 on 1 offline mode.

Like others said, this is historic and revolutionary in the chess world. I'd give five stars if it didn't make me reinstall and multiplayer was easier to set up with friends. There are also minor issues like the AI will sometimes move for me if I play a 3+ player game against AI and a few quality of life changes would be nice like reworking piece design and being able to collapse more things when creating boards. All in all nitpicks aside it's a great app that is in uncharted water. Solid A-

Me and one of my friends tried to play multi-player but couldn't find each other so can you make multi-player much more accessible thanks one of the best chess apps I have ever played on love it

Adding new moves in editor is hard. Since when is negative vertical axis up? Edited move should always go on top or view its visual in some other way. Visual when editting moves should zoom back in after zooming out ridiculously. Maybe that zoom could be configurable? And themes? They don't do anything with the board? The board that is hard to read with half of the colors? Also not a big fan of ad monthly extortion. One-time ad removal would be nice.

Not good at all

decent amount of variants but the user interface is terrible and a terrible lack of options. can't tell you how often I am winning a game to suddenly tap the wrong piece and it's checkmate. no undue button really reduces the playability especially for newcomers in these variants as they are especially likely to have occasional screw ups.

In the editor for large boards, pieces never land where the UI indicates I'm placing them, and there's no way to zoom in.

I love it! changes the way you play chess, there are many different varients or you can make your own! You can play with up to 6 people if I recall, you can also choose so many different maps. so fun to play with other people if you always wante more than two people to play!

Froze my phone multiple times, had hopes looked like there was a little hope

Why do none of the online players make any moves? I swear I have played DOZENS of games online and I can't find a single player that moves 1 piece! If I'm white they all run out their timer and if I'm black then they will never start the game, forcing me to resign! Btw the bots are completely stupid even on the hardest difficulty, making the game completely unplayable for me!!!

This app is in need of a LOT of work it's an insanely cool concept but it's not very well put together, I've got a couple issues 1-it places pieces where your finger is on the screen,not where it's shown to be about to be placed 2-the piece creating engine closed the ability to see movements other than the one your working on 3-there aren't a lot of piece options I'd like to be able to import as well 4-varisnt engine needs re-done completely

Poor colour contrast between the black background and the black cells (which is especially annoying for hexagonal boards). The AIs tend to be seemingly stuck in an infinite loop far too often.

The fact that I have to pay to just create more than 10 custom pieces is insane. Not fun how horribly monetized this app is

I spent a good bit of effort making a chess variant, only for all of my work to become pointless because the app won't let me set the variant name. I click the edit button, click on the textfield, and the keyboard goes away before I can type a single character.

Not sure why it has a low rating. One can create no end of chess variants, but whats more is can be expanded to fill a full PC screen. Incrfeasing novelty on Google play which is mostly mobile now.

Tedious and generally a hassle to use, the UI is messy, some buttons are too small and I accidentally hit buttons next to it and I have to scroll up and down a lot. The ads glitch sometimes which causes me to lose my progress, and I can't even skip them. Also, you have to use an in-game currency to buy different piece designs, more customization being locked behind a paywall just defeats the purpose. Go download ChessCraft instead, it's more limited but higher quality.

Doesn't work. Nothing would save after the ad played. I couldn't even get it to confirm my account being deleted. Needs serious fixing before it can be a viable app.

Has some traditional versions, like Capablanca and Sittuyin. Also some innovative versions worth trying. However, +Dark+ pieces on +Dark+ squares make it too difficult for me to play a proper game. Color combination choices or contrast control might resolve that. Some versions simple; some, complex. Some versions, ingenius and serious; some, a bit oddball. I look forward to improvements.

Def not easy ai

The ideas behind the chess variants is great but unfortunately those are full of bugs. Maybe work on that a little. Capablanca chess the pieces change movements all the time for example.

I like when i make my own variants

It's fun to have all these different ways to play chess but the game keeps telling me a serious problem has occurred and I am forced to keep redowloading the game. Would loe to give 4 or 5 stars but cant due to this massive problem.

Cool concept and all, but anytime I make a variant of chess, I can't proceed in making it because my keyboard closes almost imediately after I try to name it! Please fix this.

It's great you can play against bots friends or people from around the world but there's one flaw I'm mobile and when creating a new variation it won't let me type the name or the description and I can't save any new games so can you please fix this for mobile and when it gets fixed I will rate 5 stars oh also i can't change my name it won't let me type with that too so if you can can you please fix that.

Y'all this is a genuinely wonderful concept for an app, but it straight up doesn't work. It's quite a chore to try using it to create a chess variant, but once you successfully create your game and watch your confirmation ad (or else lose all of the work you just did) you can get into a game, and it doesn't work at all. I mean it's actually really cool that you got the chess ai to work with the variants, but the pieces duplicate or break constantly, and the graphics fail to update frequently.

I love the idea behind this app. Unfortunately it suffers from numerous bugs: can't move pieces easily, creating a variation is a headache and the save button doesn't work. The AI isn't intelligent either. Has the potential to be a great app if these issues are fixed.

It's an amazing game specifically for the amount of variation that can occur, however I did experience the AI doing an illegal move one time; I had used a knight to capture my opponents rook to prevent their king from castling but the AI castled anyway with my knight instead of a rook. I ended up archiving that game but idk how to share it. Overall an amazing game
