good enough

App crashed while i was watching NYC marathon

constantly crashes

a year later and still has many bugs, it's not working. the map to track runners is not coming up and it keeps telling me "Something went wrong. Please try again" or no internet connection

crashed when it was the more important. unreliable, unable to handle traffic for a major. disappointing

can't log in

the app stopped running in the middle of the NYC marathon..

horrible app keeps crashing

Not working. Error codes.

where did the "followed runners" after the latest UI update?!?! it was an AMAZING feature!!!!!

Can't check your own races your registered for, or see past race times. You have to go to the website for that. Those are pretty basic and essential features to be lacking. Poorly designed app. It's only useful for tracking another runner on the map, and even that stops working half the time.

can't open it

a year later and this app is still useless, just says no internet connection, so that money they're making and they can't get this right

Keep Runnin.

Can't login despite deleting storage and cache, so it's completely useless

good 1/2 Marathon

Truly terrible app. The tracking map and info hardly ever loads and glitches out constantly.

map doesn't work after first use. have to uninstall and reinstall.

terrible

map crashes often

this app needs to work on connectivity because I can only open it once before it tells me I have "no Internet connection" and I have to redownload or for it to work again. lots of potential, not great development

The app has significant performance issues. Whenever trying to open anything, it just says "no internet connection, please try again"

Easy to use app, all information available and works properly

the app and website is pure garbage. nyrr is amazing.

not helpful

What's its point? This app has basically no functionality. I cannot even register for a new race using it.

why having an app with nothing working

Love your style /--o-v--o--/

Did not work seamlessly on the day of the marathon. Many people reported issues. Missed our loved ones because we could follow them using the tracker function. Very disappointed this year. in previous years there were issues with loading too, but not nearly as many as this year.

Truly the worst app I've ever used. Not a single function worked the entire day.

app does not load, does not share race info, is not workable during peak times. very bad

you know you have one day to make the app work, and it crashes.....couldn't use the app for most of the marathon day to track family and friends on the race course

just repeatedly says "something went wrong. please try again" over and over again

downloaded for NYC Marathon and the app barely loads. at one point it removed everyone I had tracked. the marathon shouldn't have switched to this app as I never had issues in previous years with the tcs app

So, so many areas that need improvement, even aside from the utter failure of the app malfunctioning all day on marathon day. The Events listing doesn't show dates on the tiles, and doesn't include the year even when you click in. There is nowhere to go to see what races I'm signed up for. When tracking runners, it doesn't indicate what wave they're in before the race starts Why does this app even exist if it's this unusable?

Tracking broke and failed to load. It was impossible to use for Marathon Sunday. Bring back the dedicated TCS Marathon app, it was much more reliable and accurate!

Horrible app. Whatever "updates" they made on it for the 2025 NYC marathon are trash. It didn't work for the biggest event they have: error messages throughout the event, it wouldn't load. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling and then NOTHING worked. In previous years it worked perfectly.

Spectators flew from all over the world to support loved ones running the NYC Marathon and the app barely worked. It froze, crashed, and only functioned maybe two or three times during the entire race. Many never got to see their loved ones run. If the excuse is too many users, then geo-tag and limit access to those actually in NYC. Poor planning and execution from the app provider and organizers.

Useless during TCS nyc 2025. Not functional at all. An embarrassment tgat this is the app for the world's premier marathon

The only job this app had was to be able to track the runners on the day of the marathon. However, it was not able to do that.

Thank you

Crashes when you zoom map. The map disappears from time to time.

runners from my tracking list keeps resetting and I see some random runners. about 30 people

buggy.. installed and automatically followed some random people. i removed them and added friends. 15 mins later i start getting alerts for some random runners and friends i followed were removed.

it's great 👍

Terrible. Very slow. Tracked athletes disappeared and had to be added back. Unacceptable for a major.

race day there was to much traffic to their servers and you cant do anything. probably could have anticipated this and scaled up

app wouldn't load. clearly no planning went in to the large usage surge that would occur on race day and the servers couldn't handle it

Horrible. Can't handle the load on race day. Frozen and buggy on the rare times it works at all.

it hangs a lot

no response to any tracking links, buttons

Absolute garbage. Day of marathon, my list had runners i never followed, didn't have any runners I did follow. Changes weren't sticking. I added a runner, a minute later they were gone and runners i didn't know popped. The map wasn't loading, the wheel was spinning endlessly. Glitchy, slow, unusable. I missed all the runners i was following. you had one job and you failed spectacularly.

Unfortunately, they do not have the bandwidth to support using this app. The tracking features kept freezing up and was unusable much of the time. The Map feature never loaded at all.

this app is trash and not user friendly and it just runs so slow.

Worst version yet

Unclear if something was broken with the most recent update, but the app is now extremely unreliable and fails with nondescript error messages 9/10 times. Extremely frustrating experience especially relative to previous years

After last update this app got very slow and very much useless

Worst app ever

trash

Awful, it's marathon day and the app is crashing big time. Nothing loads and it's not adding people I'm trying to track and the map won't even open.

On my third re-install. trying to watch the NYC marathon and track a friend. Not loading at all😭 I'll update post if issue resolves. The race started over 2 hours ago and hoping the watch experience improves.

Constant errors. Automatically followed 12 random runners. Map won't load. Prior app watch better.

keeps crashing

useless interface

App keeps erasing the runners we're tracking and replacing with random people.

someone remind NYRR its 2025 and one of the biggest days is the NYC marathon, but their app just absolutely refuses to work. bring back the old app specific to the race. unreal.

The app kept crashing and deleting the runners I was following.

Server kept getting overwhelmed. could only see results from runner once all morning.

Cannot track runners. Legit the main purpose of the app.

This app was the worst app I have ever used. The main function of this app is to track the runners, and it can't even do that? I had to close the app every time I wanted to open the map and then the map feature stopped working all together. I tried troubleshooting by using different devices however the problems still persisted. The notifications were completely terrible. They were not even remotely close to when the athlete hit a milestone. This app is a stark contrast to the flawless ChiMar app

Nearly unusable on marathon day when it actually needs to work.

my tracking list keeps getting deleted

we all know the app sucks

cant see anyone running

unusable for the New York marathon

App sucks! constantly buffers, won't load and has to be restarted. why don't you just use race joy or learn how to create a real race tracing app.

complete garbage. crashes, follows random runners you don't know, unfollows the runner you are trying to track. garbage.

very slow, takes numerous attempts to pull up a page. Tried to follow a runner, after 15 min of waiting (churning, churning) my runner's name finally appeared. Tried to select to follow and app just went back to home page, removing my runner.

It is terrible. Can't track. .Won't load. bring back TCS.

oh man, this app blows when there's more than 7 people using it at one time...

doesnt work. tried to track my family running and all its saying is something went wrong please try again

not loading now

couldn't open ...always something went wrong sign comes up!

the App has been crashing ever since the elite runners finished

"something went wrong please try again" constantly. (it seemed fine until the race started -- but that's not useful)

Less than useless.

Unable to track runners.

completely broken on marathon Sunday. can't track anyone. you had one job.

awful. can't track my runner! worst app in all the years of the marathon!!

app does not work at all

I think due to high traffic the app stopped working for me, but was great while it worked

so buggy

App keeps delaying on me, other than that its fine.

Totally sucks! Can't handle any kind of load

this app is not usable. They can't be surprised at the volume with more than 50K runners. need to estimate 20 times that for access

ZERO STARS. This app is garbage. So tired of being told, something went wrong try back later.

It can't handle the load of the NY Marathon. the app spins.

When it works, the features are great, but it just stops working and gives me a full black screen every 5 minutes. Sometimes it loads the list of features, sometimes it doesn't, same with the tracking search function. Frustrating experience to be honest.

doesn't work on my android. crashes. potentially overloaded with traffic

doesn't load anything within the app when it is a live race -- they need to up the servers for bandwidth of users during live tracking! - terrible!

this thing crashes out 100% race day. like they didn't realize it would be used by thousands of people race day. SMH....

Terrible app. Takes forever to load and eventually times out. Can't even track runners.

Terrible experience this year trying to track the marathon. Constantly timing out, added random people to my following list. Not even worth using this year. Prior years have worked great. New York Road Runners you really let down the fans of this race.

Crashed continuously through NYC Marathon. Was unable to track runners basically the entire race. Ended up having to wait in a queue to track runners on the website. Awful experience

Doesn't load, doesn’t update, I can't track any runners. Entirely pointless app

WTAF?! A world major marathon and the tracking app is worse than a local 5M race!! constantly crashing, clearing the runners I'd chosen to track and adding random runners - who I didn't know - to my tracked athletes lists. An utter disgrace, tbh 1 star only because I couldn't give Zero. Have a chat with London and learn how to do it properly please.

The app is completely non functional on raceday. Cannot track my runners at all.

app not working, overloads transit sys, as people keep rerouting themselves to try and find their runner

Please bring back the old TCS marathon app. This one is horrible.

This app has completely crashed, 1st time this has happened, will try again next year

didn't work when supposed to. you had one job

App seemed fine before the marathon, but during the 2025 NYC Marathon, it has been a failure (clearly a load or scalability issue) where it's basically non-functional

It barely works. It doesn't load, it freezes. My husband is running the NY Marathon for the 15th time, and this is the first time this has happened.

mine was a mess. can't open anytrackers

terrible...couldn't track anyone

doesn't work for me

app crashes and can't track my runner, keeps adding random runners. this app is straight garbage....do better

completely unusable during the new york city marathon - couldn't even open the map view for the back half of the race and received the "something went wrong, try again later" error probably over 100 times (no exaggeration, it popped up a lot). really disappointing... felt like I missed my friend's entire race.

Absolute garbage. Full of error messages. Can't track anyone in 2025 Marathon

freezes with error messages. can't do anything with it.

This app is truly an embarrassment to NYRR and NYC Marathon for promoting it. Completely useless on NYC Marathon race day. Most times, it doesn't load at all. If you get it to come up at all, only partial load (doesn't show who you're tracking, etc.). If you're lucky enough to get the home screen to fully load, don't bother clicking anything because it will just say "Something went wrong." C'mon, NYRR, scale up/out or hand the project over to a company that can actually do it right.

It's not working. Overwhelmed?

not working

App crashed during the NYC Marathon. Useless, uninstalled.

Extremely glitchy... just a bad app!

doesn't work. very glitchy.

On the one day it really matters, this app is trash and won't work. Can't load anything

Awful experience. Couldn't track any of the runners on my list. Kept getting error messages.

The app can't keep up with the demand on big race days.

Sucks... only need it for 2 days a year and it doesn't work. same message appeared "Something went wrong"

it doesn't help

totally useless

not working...crashes all the time during marathon, can't track anyone

this app is the worst version they've ever had. not easy to use and the map never loaded.

TCS clearly did not configure this for the number of users that would be hammering on it. It worked ok on wi-fi but failed repeatedly on cellular. The strangest thing was that it kept adding random runners to my following list and then would delete runners I was following. One of the neighbors I was watching with experienced the same phenomenon, and according to a Reddit thread, it was not unique to us.

it doesn't work! 🤷‍♂️

site crash

I am so upset at this map...last year I was able to track my husband and see him using the cams so i can meet up and cheer him...but this year the app wont load. The app keeps showing the message of " something went wrong"...(he had to text for me to get to our usual spot)....I missed the finish as well....

awful marathon tracking this year

crashing, no updates, cannot navigate on the app

Constantly dropped my runner and?completely quit working on the last mile. Samsung s22

constantly crashes. Loses tracked runners randomly. a mess of an app

poor. set up to track runners. notifications from other runners. can not log in again.

Doesn't work, kept getting errors.

doesn't seem to work for android

awful in every way. utterly unusable on race day. bring back the TCA app.

loses connection frustrating to use, but in fairness when it worked it was decent

wonky the whole day! fire your it person!

Trash app that can't track anything. TCS should help them create a better app. Why did you guys fix something that was not broken? Bring back the marathon app

this app was not working properly,it kept freezing and saying something was wrong.

Tracking was down the whole race for me today 🙁

need this to work one day a year, simply doesn't

horrible app....the 1 day a year its needed it crashes and doesn't work....shame on the lack of preparation....especially when they get u to download the app and all ur info....then nothing works...and all their money.

epic FAIL. Tracking list wiped out multiple times while map never loaded on raceday.

this app is GREAT!! it was a little slow due to it being overwhelmed with the NYC Marathon..it is the best app....

Had a bug that switched followed athletes with strangers and wouldn't allow re-following the correct athletes. Got alerts for the wrong people all day

No connection during the entire New York Marathon. Couldn't track my wife. Terrible app experience for me and two others

Disappointment! Was unable to keep track of the runners in real time. App kept crashing every time I tried to use it. Whatever changes was made for this version needs to be fixed by next year.

App either (1) doesn't work or (2) has a 10 minute lag on where runners actually are

Complete Disaster Today (NYC Marathon) The app was malfunctioning for myself and for a number of friends and family whom we were trying to track me during my race today. It's very frustrating. I'm hoping the bugs can be fixed by next year.

tracking didn't work in the moment making this a pretty useless app

barely loads

why does it say the marathon started a day early?

thank you so very much for everything your in christ Damian Ellis and family from chicago Illinois

Purtroppo abbiamo notato che funziona solo per chi ha un iPhone. Per chi come me ha un andoid non funziona

Keep getting error message "Cannot load". Uninstalled / reinstalled a couple of times. Assume it's a good app if it ever opens.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

doesn't work

App has trouble loading. have deleted and reinstalled twice, but issues persist

Terrible, I can't access any events, always showing an error message. I have already reinstalled and the problem persists.

terrific just terrific 😍

It doesn't work

instable and unusable.

very helpful in tracking my husband

Excellent motivator!!

addicted

"something went wrong" pops up like 30 times and can't click any event

please bring the other version back

this app is really bad

Excelent

The applications truly allows to be a partner for marathon runners. I can track my friends running, be updated with upcoming runs etc. The design also looks and feels fantastic during use.

thanks u guys god bless Amen.

I can't track by club/team members now...but before I was able to when this first rolled out. Please fix! It was a great feature!

excellent

Easy to use.

NYC Half this weekend inc Brooklyn Bridge. Can't wait.
