Signed me out of the app, but when I try to sign back in using email, it's a greyed-out 'continue' button that is just buffering. I can't do anything and I need to verify details for my purchase. This is very frustrating.

Don't use Kickstarter. They allow scammers on their platform, and they give you absolutely no recourse when you get scammed.

I've been a supporter for many years and backed many products. But recently I backed a product and Kickstarter couldn't assist me in contacting the project owners to get them to refund all backers even with backers multiple emails requesting for a refund. it's been many months but Kickstarter refused to help us backers. I'm sure Kickstarter gets a slice of that funds for themselves. I've contacted Kickstarter many times but still they are not willing or enforcing a refund. for us.

This is an app for a service dedicated to scamming you out of money. Kickstarter offers no protections if you are scammed by a pledge. You can "report it" but nothing will happen. Kickstarter just takes their cut and laughs at you for falling for it. Avoid using Kickstarter for anything. I've had to go through the tedious process of issuing a chargeback on my credit card. Avoid Kickstarter, it is a haven for scams and fraud. They will take the money and run!

it was good at first but then they let scammers on like Yumi 3d and don't do anything about it when they scam. I've been scammed a couple of times already. Kickstarter doesn't do anything even when the whole community reports it so I don't bother pledging anymore.

unable to pay balance on a pay over time early and cannot get ahold of anyone with Kickstarter to remedy this. lack of support gives 1 star.

Only value is that it lets you PM creators that don't allow messages from everyone, and that you haven't already backed. Otherwise, the website is significantly easier to navigate, especially the backed projects page when you have pledged to multiple campaigns. Not that the website is particularly easy to use in the first place, it's not-simple functions, like messaging, or looking at all the projects of a single creator are still complicated-but it is still miles ahead of the app..

I'd love to comment about the app but, unfortunately, I can't log in. It's the forever-loading perpetual circle. Refresh? Nope. Restart the app? No. Restart the phone? Nah. Clear cache? Also no. Probably saves me a few bucks by not being able to actually get in though I'm not sure that's what they're going for.

Kickstarter is the best platform to use to make a creator's dreams come true! User friendly tools, great customer support, smooth payments. I'm physical proof of all of this. I've created 4 projects with their help and platform. I highly recommend Kickstarter.

Scam Will Not support backers. 5-10 years ago, you were supporting a creator who had a great idea. it was great. Now it has changed. out of the past 3 ideas I have made pledges on, 0 have worked out. No help from Kickstarter even when shipping the item went up 10x and more than the $50 item itself. Kickstarter does not even respond back with an automated message even they are in the ghosting business. do not use this app

2026-10: Can't even go back in the in the app, just exists... 2026-07: New verify your a humans takes 2 minute... 2026: Getting so much worse! can't report an obvious product theft. Produce already exists. Still claims scams as success.. . Also why can't you keep me signed in.... 2023: Can't zoom in pictures. Biggest problem with Kickstarter is that they hide the failed projects, have supported a few and 2 of them where just scams but kickstarter still says successfully delivered.

I love it when it works, and it's very easy to use. Only trust the sellers you believe in.

It seems that the rewards tab is completely hidden until you log in, so if you just want to look at what's available you're required to first make an account and give them your email. Also, the user interface is not good- I'd normally be willing to figure it out and tolerate the issues, but since I can't actually see the rewards section for any campaigns the whole app is useless to me.

This is a scam and all products are scams. They are just out to steal from you. Don't trust any project. SCAMMERS. Still scammi g a year later.

Kickstarter is allowing creators to collect money and not update the progress. Kickstarter is an app for scammers and they allow it to go on. You report creators and they say they aren't violating policies. The policy states creators must update progress but they aren't. You cant get ahold of anyone from Kickstarter nor find an email address to write them your complaint.

The app is good, but it's definitely more backer-focused than it is creator-focused. If I have the same options available to me as a creator on the app as I do the website, that's not apparent.

Completely unusable compared to desktop version. Buttons like "notify on launch" and favouriting a campaign or following a creator don't work. I can't even back a campaign. Profile info and previously backed campaigns will not load, it just loads a blank page so I can't use pledge manager. The only functional thing on the app version is the general search and home page. That's it. Every time I try to use it I always end up having to switch to my PC for backing or checking updates on campaigns.

The app is running excessively slow lately. Every click is delayed. Lots of buffering, sluggish reaction. Several times a error screen that says they are having issues with a page or something to that wording. refreshing the page sometimes gets me to the correct page. Either this app needs an update OR there was a recent update that was counterproductive. I am convinced they have AI "monitoring" your use. I was erroneously temporarily suspended for being too active? 🤷🏼‍♀️ poor customer service

As a corporate owner, the legal recourse against KS as agent for questionable products, beyond a class action suit, remains dubious.

Many good products created here are permanently removed from existence by the wilful satanists at Amazon. Do not sell on Amazon. Do not agree to Amazon seller contracts. Amazon exists exclusively as a Satanic patent troll. It's existence is a crime against humanity.

backer for a few projects and now some years later force logged out and account wiped clean. No history or anything.. Guess I won't be presenting or backing an new projects on here.

Used to be good but part of organised crime now. Including by specific individuals from both Lattitude finance and ANU who participate in international coordinated organised crime cartels with their co-offenders from Booking and Agoda and if course AirBnb. Many products I funded here signed agreements with Amazon and no longer exist. Never agree to Amazon exclusively or your products will be removed from existence on the fraudulent and Satanic grounds of National Security.

Unfortunately over the years the quality of campaigns has degraded and Kickstarter itself seems to not care about the end users any longer. I wouldn't use them unless you are prepared to be swindled.

they let scammers take people's money and do nothing to solve the problem. Specifically "BluHub: 9-in-1 Blu-ray Hub” hundreds of people asking for help for refunds, but since they received their cut, they are wiping their hands clean and not doing anything about it. I will never use your service again.

KS is a scam. If you support a project, you'd better hope the creators don't run off with your money because KS support is worthless. Even if the project breaks their rules, they've got their percentage of your money and will never let go of it.

I'm a Kickstarter junkie. I've ordered many products on Kickstarter. Lots of awesome products and stuff i really don't need, but gotta have lol. Been scammed once. But overall, been happy with things. Don't like how long it takes to receive some items and the risk of loosing my money though. No real return options if you don't like the product, but haven't wanted to return anything yet. I will continue to back products on Kickstarter as long as I don't get scammed😎

So good I just wish that I did not have to type anything personal like password and stuff just to follow and catch up with a creator and can we stop with these 6 digit codes they get so annoying but on top of all of that it's good not great but good.

I've invested in some very great products on here and the ones that I have invested in. Have all been excellent quality. And just better than I had expected.

They have terrible customer service. There are creators scamming people into their campaigns and Kickstarter is allowing it. Alot of people are upset and submitting complaints. If you download this, see the comments under DuoSound. This app is not recommended.

absolutely awful app im backing a project it says thank you for backing but when I go back it not registered and asking to back this project again ive tried and tried it just won't back anything its saying ive backed it but its not physically backed it

Do not support these scammers, funds get raised and then you never get your product or your money back.

you don't hold people accountable I've lost money because people just use your platform to steal money they never planned on following through, you've funded good honest creators but you're not holding the thieves accountable so I give you 3 stars almost want to give 2

The app is good, but it needs to be better about sounding off during the last 42 hours of a campaign.

Love alot of the items that are offered for backing, but navigating the actual Kickstarter system is an ABSOLUTE CONVOLUTED TEDIOUS NIGHTMARE!!! Wish this system was more intuitive and user friendly. I'm a 'Boomer' and not very 'tech-savvy'. The only reason I'm dealing with the frustrations of Kickstarter is because they have a product i really want that isn't available anywhere else!

Was going for 4 stars, but then saw there are idiots rating the App 1* based on the dodgy ideas they backed, so went up to 5 stars instead. Edit: How is the app getting worse? The Beta "Backings" tab showed a fast way to find what you've backed. But now it doesn't. And there's no search for things you've done or backed!?

I've backed 3 successful projects and have pledged a 4th. Everything is straightforward, just put it in your diary when Pledge is due. I'm not a rich person, KS is a great way for me to acquire the newest tech at bargain prices. Just be careful, research the company and back if they have a solid footprint, or take a gamble!

I love the concept and the amount of money people have raised, but the app is absolutely awful, not user friendly for the creator at all. its needs a 100% redo have an app design expert design it.

This platform is a great opportunity to back new entrepreneurs and to find great new products.

I backed the spectrum next project for €500. But now Kickstarter doesn't accept the postage payment. And I'm using the same card!!! Am I to lose €500 because Kickstarter doesn't accept €50??? And then when I contacted Kickstarter, I got a bot! I tried different browsers, different computers, different cards. No success. Why not accept PayPal or bank transfer? Why no alternatives?

Can't wait to get live feedback on my swing and start improving instead of just constant trial and error.

Overall the app is pretty good, but we need to get rid of this "try our new discovery mode" ad at the top of the screen. Not only am I uninterested, but it's annoying seeing a huge ad every time I open the app.

The UI sucks. gotta do everything on the web page. Beyond that, I've backed 6 projects and only gotten 2 to deliver. One of the projects isn't even listed under my "backed projects" so I'll be disputing all the charges with my cc company. The concept was great, but the piss poor UI implementation coupled with no protection for the buyer... I'd rather light my cash on fire than back another project on here.

While previously reputable, my orders from the last two years remain unfulfilled, and Kickstarter has been unable to provide assistance. Most of the Kickstarter campaigns are scams, so beware.

For months now, when I click on the "Ending Soon" tab, I'm not shown projects ending soon, but ending in days/weeks. This needs to be fixed. Because of this, I have not been using the app.

I give up on this app, it won't let me pledge for anything.

won't let me report kickstarters. the second you go to report someone the submit button goes away. they never hold sellers accountable. They don't even uphold their Terms of service. if you want a product that's being made here just wait till it comes out and buy it off ebay so you don't get scammed.

Well, I just pledged for this great printer!

it's a really fun way to throw away money, if you're into that. take note that Kickstarter doesn't actually care if anything you back is delivered and they provide no customer support whatsoever before or after collecting their cut of your pledge. you will likely see a bunch of really cool stuff that you'll pay for and never get. it's google-approved fraud at this point.

zero protection or consequences if a project decides to dissappear with the money. Apart from that the apps pretty good.

Overall, a poorly designed app. Several things that can't be done on the app force you to go to the website. But the most annoying issue that never gets fixed is if at any time you open another app or in any way put this app in the background, it reverts to the main page. You lose any comments that are in progress, anything being done to back a project, doesn't matter, the app won't stay on the page it was on.

love discovering new and limited items that kickstarter releases. without kickstarter, some of my favorite comics, games, technology and little knick knocks would not be available. this is a great app to discover what's new out there and to support those who create these items with their ideas.

Having a lot of issues with the app on my Samsung phone. A lot of links I click on social media adverts or even in emails from developers don't open the app, they open up my browser instead. Then, on the rare occasions clicking on links DOES open up the app, it often forwards me to the browser page for it anyway! 😫 The settings are correctly set to Kickstarter being the "default app" for opening supported links.

Deleted the app after they were fannying about with verification, will just use the website lads.

everytime the app open or reopen, it always goes to the main page, and will refresh. There is no way to check something, switch to something else and comming back to the app without losing everything. This isn't instagram or reddit, no need to refresh everything everytime that we reopen the app...

Kickstarter will take your money with SCAM projects that never deliver!

This is an amazing platform offering low income earners such as myself the opportunity to own equipment which otherswise would have been impossible. An amazing platform

even my notification settings in the app are totally settled on "off" (grey, not green) for push AND email they find the way to SPAM ME DAILY " with email that even doesn't include a link "unsuscribe". Just a link to "notification setting" where ... (back to the top of my review)

Worst app and website I've ever seen - The login shows a Facebook button that hasn't been supported in almost a decade - Password reset causes a 404, with a cooldown period on reset emails - They have two separate login pages for some reason, the normal one and a better, secret, but probably deprecated one that is veiled by two extra clicks - The in-app password reset fields don't have the dictionary disabled, so the phone will just log your plaintext password - Content randomly fails to load

Scams galore. They don't even verify the email apparently; I tried emailing a creator and I got a bouceback, and said creator has now scammed approximately $50k USD from kind backers, which kickstarter is doing nothing about. Also, if you put your email in it automatically signs you up for about 50 different mailing lists, even if you don't want to, and pledgebox spams you with emails to pay for "backed projects" even if you already paid, just liked the project, or even just viewed it

I have supported many creative projects over several years. There are risks and I have suffered a few loses. Overall I am satisfied with my experience. I have supported many Creators that are now thriving now.

I’ve been a loyal Kickstarter backer for over 10 years, but I’ve lost all trust in this platform. After wasting 2–3 years and a lot of money, I watched innovative ideas become obsolete before backers received anything, while other companies mass-produced them. A project I backed raised over $170,000 USD, and the creator ran off with the money without delivering anything. Kickstarter takes no responsibility and provides no support when creators scam supporters. Use this app at your own risk.

when I go to ghe "newest" tab, I expect the newest project sorted by most recent first ; this is not the case anymore. So you have to scroll down, but for how long ? While some project stays on top. I am worried this is due to subscription on project creation: I hope it is not. I could also complain about how the newest projects sometimes appears, then are gone, then are back (hours ? days later?) ; most probably due to internal checks and regulations, but this does not look fair.

Just not interested

Take care when backing, make sure the creator is legit and has proven themselves before investing in a high priced item and you will be fine. I mostly back board games and have not been disappointed.

8/1/26 - this app has gotten that much worse in a year and a half. every single project has been a scam. 100% of them now 2/8/25 - I have used Kickstarter for years without any problems. However, this last year has been horrible with scammers and few products delivered. This is a scam app

The app keeps logging me out. Logged in an hour ago to check something and then went to continue my search right now and I'm logged out again. Something is wonky with this newest update.

keeps opening chrome even after opening the app, draining battery and overall useless. additionally despite them claiming not to be a store they are letting multiple companies use kickstarter as a shop.

Pretty decent app. Editing pledges is almost always a pain in the butt, but otherwise not bad.

App works great, the beta for showing what you have backed is still buggy, but overall it's good. The algorithm for showing you new things to back isn't too great though.

why am I giving this app five stars for feeding my addiction? oh, because I love it.

at payment time, it says error saying pledge not available anymore...

2026 Updated Review: Over the past several months, this app has transformed from a mildly useful way of getting push notifications for project updates and occasionally browsing KS into an increasingly annoying advertisement system despite push settings for everything except Project Updates/Messages being disabled. KS support also lies about advertisement push notifications being a working user setting option.
