this app is constantly unstable. Walking around in my house will periodically cause the app to disconnect for no reason whatsoever. The bars on my phone don't change at all throughout my house. I have 3 out of 4 bars consistently throughout my house. I'm looking for a better radio app. well I finally deleted the app. Not going to use any app that would support anyone who hates America. That's all.

the 4 and 5 star reviews are written by spam bots...there shouldnt be more than 10 minutes ads every hour. but its 30 minutes of ads an hour. shopify lowes and some other garbage. followed by some podcast ad. it should be options in the "free version" to get rid of the nonstop spam. it shouldnt cost even 50 cents to eliminate ads

I prefer to listen to the actual radio. I am tired of apps. Iheartradio needs to evaporate. people reading this go back to a radio not an app. living life nostalgically is the most peaceful life. once you have apps they own you. which is why even this app expects you to pay. don't. end streaming platforms. and go back to owning your music, movies, and tv series. get a smartphone which I call the flip phone. go back to antenna tv and mp3 player.

This app spends more time playing ads and avoiding the songs on my playlist than it does playing the music I want to hear.

I do not like having to create an account just to listen to music too many good apps available that do not require an account to listen and create FAVORITES

I can't listen to a news station without 10 minutes of ads. And God forbid I have it on in the background and something interrupts a segment, then I'm listening to 10+ minutes of ads again! it's bad enough I'm listening to ads in the stream, that's valid, but ads that cover a news station's block, then I listen to their ads, all I'm listening to is a garbage block.

I have a paid subscription to Spotify but would rather listen to iheart with ads the algorithm is so much better. I have over 400 songs in my playlist on Spotify but keep hearing the same dozen songs. iheart mix is off the chain with all different music.

if you take as much time away from the broadcast as a brief Google search, when your search is done iHeartRadio will play you an ad

Found my favorite station, tuned in, 2 of the first 3 songs I listened to had ads right in the middle of the song. I understand they need ads to make money, but that was excessive and intrusive. Deleted.

Having contest entry issues as a paid customer. When keywords are giving, I receive an error message for the correct keyword. It claims the keyword is incorrect which actually be the word giving. If the keyword is incorrect, why is it said over the radio? This makes it impossible to enter a contest on stations such as 96.1 The Beat. Most time, I have to submit the keyword twice to see if it goes through. These contests has glitches on their systems.

I get that free apps need to generate revenue via advertising, but there has to be limits. Recently the number of ads being played is just ridiculously high. 2 songs, then 4 minutes of ads. And none of the ads are even relevant to me in the slightest. It's bad for the listeners and bad for the advertisers.

Not enough song variety. I've listened to the Halloween radio, and they have the same twenty or so songs on repeat. The Big Classic Hits is the same, where they play the same 50-ish songs on repeat. Every one in a while, they throw in a new sign or two, but for the most part it's the same selection of songs over and over again.

More ads, less user friendly, harder to navigate, constantly plays the same songs no matter how many times you skip them. Its like FM radio, but with an option to pay monthly. No thank you.

What is the point of download if you have to be online to listen to them? Simply stupid and misleading. I had long flight and only discovered this once in the air!

I have been a subscriber for over a decade at this point. In the last few years, the app has become cluttered with self-referencing pop ups that seriously get in the way of listening to music. Lite mode is a great step away from the chaotic, slow launch of the app. I keep the playlists I use "downloaded" so I can listen to them driving through nowhere-land. If the app finally launches and plays "offline" playlists when it is actually offline, you'll get a 5th star.

Picked up this app just to listen to a local NFL game and what the app is streaming is different from my car radio. Useless.

If you like Cancer commercials nonstop you'll love this app. That's a real downside to listening to good music. Your rocking one minute then thinking I'm going to get Cancer listening to the horrible commercials. Oh ya there are a lot more bands other then Bon Jovi and guns and roses constantly.

Keeps playing songs that I thumb down. need to be able to thumb down artists as well. Same ads over and over, sometimes in a completely different language.

By far iheart is still the best music app. 1 reason I like iheart 4 the music is, ... all the verity... I don't really care 2 much 4 "newer top 40" music 2 much... but, iheart has a Grt veriety of different kinds of O'l Schl music that I like much better. I like the "live real radio stations". it's still 1 of the best features. I especially like all the news, politics, & talk stations. that's Y, "iheart" is my "go 2" app 4 a lot of my news, politics, talk, O'l Schl music,& many of the pod casts.

I'm tired of iHeartRadio just opening up immediately as I get into the vehicle without permission . I have other apps that are more important that are running and as soon as I get into my vehicle iHeartRadio takes over there needs to be a place where we can disconnect that availability it should not connect all on its own it should have my permission I should hit yes open iHeartRadio play on my radio but no it shuts all my other apps off and over rides them

Thus app allowed me to listen to my hometown radio station for maybe a day, from the following day on it kept telling me I'm not allowed to listen to that station due to my current location. Trash iHeart, absolute trash. if they are just going to geolock radio stations, what is the point of having an app like this?

I have come to the conclusion that they play the most annoying ads that they can get away with in an attempt to compel the users to sign up for the subscription service. It may not be the experience they want their listeners to have, but it is the experience they will give their listeners. Any statements about listening to the user ends with that statement. They will ask you what's wrong, explain nothing, and make no changes.

I will never understand how this app is rated so high. all I get is ads, if I'm lucky I'll hear 2 minutes of actual radio and then randomly adds will just start playing again. it's all ads all the time

it's sad they fired a whole lot of radio personalities in my area and replaced it with boring people and ads for medications. all the local radio personalities that I like to listen to are gone. I know this will have no effect on iHeartRadio for my radio stations. but I wanted to put it somewhere that they have ruined the morning for my daughter and I who used to love our local radio station personality. miss u zito.

switching stations causes a buffering problem and can't reconnect to any station. I have to restart the app to fix problem.

The "lite" interface for the main screen was a much needed option. The normal UI is way too busy.

It's convenient for me without a stereo.

The main reason I used this app was to get local radio stations onto my Bluetooth speaker. I picked a station to listen to and I had to listen to iheart's commercials before it went to the radio station and then I had to listen to the radio stations commercials. so just for this reason I don't care for this app. just way too many commercials and advertising.

Very bad song recommendations. The dislike button is not effective at all. Disliked songs keep reappearing again and again. In my created Playlists, most of the songs that are saved in them are never played, ie never on queue, while listening to the playlist.

I don't know if it's the app or my Google pixel 6A phone. The app constantly stops and starts and when I first start it sometimes it takes up to a minute or more for it to start playing KFI AM 640, and I miss what I wanted to hear on the radio at that moment. Argh!

Used to be Great... Plays 1 to 2 songs then 5 or 6 ads. Then freezes 2 or 3 times per day then repeats the same song at least 3 times a day. In an 8 hour period of listening to tunes, there are tons of songs and artists that the mix should never repeat but I feel like this is like broadcast radio. Best part, I actually tried to click the "go ad free" or "upgrade" button and will to pay to go ad-free and the link doesn't even work.

[Update: Today it was 22 straight minutes of ads before joining my MSNow livestream.] App opened at 2:59 pm. 17 straight minutes of commercials. Joined program at 3:16 pm. I'm not exaggerating. There's no ad vetting. It's torture. TuneIn became unusable after iHeart bought it, so I didn't have high hopes. You'll hear the same ad 15 times an hour, and every time there's a disruption to your stream. This ad will screech a noise designed to get your attention. It's a ping or a bell or a crash.

This app is has lots of privacy issues, and it most of the radio stations that streams through them using this app are not legally binded for any lawsuit. Just another American app intented to victimised and villify that show who Americans are.

I'd give it zero stars if possible. I've used this app, (free version), for quite a few years. it used to do an ad or two every 3-4 songs. Tonight it played 3 songs, then *7* ads. I turned off the app in the 7th ad in a row.

There use to be a way to bypass ads when you switch radio stations well not anymore. I won't be using this app anymore if there going to force ads down your throat.

Normally I love using this app. Over the last 2 weeks the app locks up while listening to many podcast. During a typical listening session I will try to look to see if there is another podcast to listen too but the main page will show blank. Getting out of the app will not stop it. I need to wait until the phone shows the app is not responding and stop it that way. I can then open up the app again and search for my podcast. the app will work for awhile then repeat lock up.

very sad. I am in some unfortunate times and have a free flex plan with Textnow as a cell service. this means that when I am not on wifi, my only approved music app is iheart. the ONLY quality iHeartRadio has for streaming music is roughly 48kb which isnt even cd quality. I am an autistic audiophile, I need my music. iHeart is a huge company and I would imagine many people have mentioned this over the years and it makes it seem like iheart doesn't care about the requests of their customers.

used to be a good app then suddenly it booted me out. When I went to log in it won't let me change my password so it is dead in the water for me. Even when it was working it was buggy and would stop for periods of time, even though my internet connection was fast. I hope it gets fixed and I can use it again

Done with the app for almost everything now. I am starting to get more ad time than music time. For the past 48 hours I have averaged 3.1 songs per gap for ads. Time wise it is basically 15 minutes of music for 5 minutes of adds. iHeart used to be a go to, but now they have lost my listening. After a couple of emails things seem to be back to normal for the adds (around 2 minutes of adds per 40 minutes of music). Great work by iHeart tech guys.

Perfect but for one thing... no car mode. The preset buttons are too small to select while I'm driving. I don't have android auto, no screen in my car, so I have to use my phone. but the preset are so small that its dangerous for drivers trying to select the right station. Please add a car mode like TuneIn Radio. I'd pay extra for this feature.

has major issues. won't open often and have to restart phone. often the audio jumps 30 or 15 seconds prior so you hear the same thing again randomly. I have to clear the cache often and uninstall it and reinstall it. almost everyday I try to use it there's a problem with it. I have excellent Wi-Fi service and I live in town. it should work.
