app is great in concept. I don't know if it's Android or the app itself, but when you hit the button when it gives you the notification 90% of the time, it comes up to be real with a blank screen, it will not open the camera. it just does not work, they either need to fix their app or change the way it works because it's stupid. it does not work

there are a little bit of bugs regarding clicking on the press notifications but other than that it's amazing! Update: I was trying to upload my bereal and it said it was uploading but it's been like over a day and I cant access bereal without being hit with a blank screen. And I've waited for a bit, hoping that it would finish loading but it has been taking forever and I lost my streak because of it.

Everytime i go into the app from the notifications, either to take a pic or look at new ones or reactions, I am greeted with a black screen and need to back out and open the app from the apps menu. For an app which relies so much on time sensitivity the notifications being broken is baffling. FairPhone 5 android.

I enjoy this app for being able to see what my friends are actually doing. Sadly not that many are using it. The app is a bit buggy on android.

Great app that facilitates an unpolished, raw social media experience and largely delivers on its goals. However, my biggest gripe is that the account management system leaves much to be desired - namely the lack of a simple transfer tool to switch phone numbers (e.g. like WhatsApp), and methods of account recovery (e.g. via email).

I'm having some issues with verification code. I tried deleting the app then restarting my phone, clearing the cache but nothing works. I even tried with another phone ( apple) and still doesn't work. I have so many memories in the app, I asked to the support team if my account is still there and they confirmed that is was, along with my phone number.

I hate that I can't swipe sideways through all my friends' bereals of the day anymore. And why aren't the posts in chronological order? Also the music auto play feature sucks, if I want to hear what my friends are listening to I will tap on it myself, no need to blast the music randomly while scrolling. And now the new map function is horrendous and makes the map completely unusable for me. Thanks I guess

The app is awesome very fond of it. Sometimes it does take awhile for the camera too load once the notification is sent. once the camera does load up ithe timer is ticking at like seven too five seconds which is very cool & fun. Tha app is exclusive I did see a update was needed so hopefully the next update fix any problems that one sees as a issue

I love this app! it is so much fun to be able to share a photo with your friends! I just like taking them now, even though most of my friends stopped using this app, but I like to have the photo to look back on! I also like how this app does a recap for evey month! and they do one once a year of all of them!

The 'share image' function used to look great, but now the image is surrounded by a big black box with my username in big block letters at the bottom. not great for sharing with friends and family, or sharing on other platforms - maybe give the user the choice between the two options?

The app is great. I really like it, but they lock features behind whether you're on time or not. that's not very fair if you're doing a test or something, but my case is different. whether I'm busy or not, the app won't let me take a picture within the 2 minute window. it just loads and loads, but once the 2 minutes are up, it's all "okay, you can look now" but I'm still st the base features you get when you first unlock it. it's very annoying.

It's been great but I didn't appreciate finding out after years of use that people could just... follow me, and see my personal pictures. I'm a pretty private person, so that was upsetting, but I changed the settings now and it's better! I think that should be something that either starts by being off or at least asks you before it's just on. Otherwise, great app!!

I think the app is great. Just lost popularity since I was in hs. I will say the app bugs out when I open my :time to take a new bereal" notification". when I open the app, it leaves a blank screen. I have to close and reopen the app each time to take a photo. it would be cool to get points for streaks kinda of like Duolingo.

Honestly, one of the best social medias I've experienced a being able to see a slice of your friend's life and be being able to keep track of what you do everyday. at random point you always have a snapshot of what's happened and because it takes less than 10 minutes of your time to post and then have a look at it. all your other friends post, it's one of the least invasive social medias

Am I the only one who started getting an alarm clock-type ringtone in bereal? It's not even an advertisement. It rang at about one o'clock in the morning, when I was asleep. I was at a loss to figure out where it came from, but it turned off only when I threw biril out of the background applications.

It needs more fixing since it still has glitches especially in logging in. and my issue has been I can't create an account. I'm just getting started. Come on! Bad experience already? It frustrates me because it's been going on for days already.

With people posting less and less on IG and FB, BeReal manages to keep me and me friends posting daily. I do feel connected from our daily selfie, probably more so than seeing those crafted IG posts.

its a great social media app especially for young adults. There is total security and control of who sees your posts and who your friends are. 1000% recommend!

BeReal used to be a great app for sharing a moment with friends. It's now inundated with ads and none of my friends are using it anymore. I would much rather pay a couple bucks for something like this than have my whole screen filled with more ads.

it will not let me set up an account, it refuses to send me a verification code. whenever I try it says to try again in a few hours, I've been trying for days. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted my phone, tried my regular and Google voice numbers and it will not work. on top of that there's not even a way to create an account on any of their websites. Do they even want people to use their app or what?

Just shut the app down mate. many bugs mate.

if you have your profile set as public you will have tons of people try to friend you and then try to get you to send them inappropriate pictures if you do it they will then threaten post them unless if you send them money. I've reported so many of these people to be real and they have been banned but there are still so many more and it's easy to make another account once you've been banned.

When the BeReal goes off and I open the app to take my BeReal on time, the camera won't open and all I see is the home screen logo. This only happens during the 2 minute window. Ruins the entire purpose of the app!

my only complaint is when your listening to Spotify and be real adds your music you can't see what song you have only the cover of it

Camera won't load. Wants you to take a picture within 2 minutes, yet the camera won't load within 5+ minutes.

I get notifications like 70% of the time and if I get one the camera don't work when I open the app via the notification. Also the app doesn't take pics properly and deletes my pics after this, so I miss the 2 mins you have to take bereals. Its really annoying. edit (sep 2026): even when you open the app instead of the notification the camera won't work

I was an anti-social guy until i knew #Bereal. So much privacy, i can take so much pictures as i want and post them and let no one saw themi love it.

The current situation is that the app usually refuses the upload my BeReal / load others' posts while I'm in WiFi, which is genuinely ridiculous.

I have to revert my 5 star rating to 1 star. For half a year I've been unable to log in from a new phone device with the same phone number. I even wrote to the customer support and they couldn't solve it. I'm very sad that I cannot use this app because it was important part of my daily life for some time 💔

it's really simple, really all you do is keep your streaks and socialise. I highly recommend this if your friends have it or if you want to make more friends. And there are no adds, so that a big thing.

Overall, it's great for sharing moments with others. But I have a question: why is the live video feature gone?

Terrible forced ads. I do not want to have to look at chewing tobacco ads every time I look at my BeReal. It's fine otherwise. If they ever give an option to not have tobacco ads, I would change my rating.

i like the app it's fun to see what your friends are doing but when it says time to bereal it gets really laggy and takes a while for the app to even load also I can't figure out how to do the bts thing and i guess it's cuz I have an android I can't use behind the scenes feature. Dear Mr. BeReal himself, every time the notification goes off to tell me to post, the camera takes way too long to load. Within the two minutes I have to post, I have to close the app multiple times for the camera load which wastes time as the timer ticks. By the time I get the camera loaded, I might only have a few seconds or maybe one minute to post a SINGULAR picture. No, it is DEFINITELY not my phone camera, it is the app itself.
