This was absolutely delicious! I added a touch of honey to the sauce and sautéed the shallot before I added it. Other than those small adjustments, I followed the recipe and it was great. I should also mention that I doubled the sauce. It was wonderful on the asparagus.

Thank you for this Amazing Beef Stew recipe. It's a hearty and delicious meal for our cold Alaskan temps that we're now enduring. The traditional vegetables along with quartered mushrooms and thinly sliced celery, added with the potatoes, made this dish a complete hit with my family. If anyone has attempted freezing leftovers, I would love to know the outcome. Thank you ATK for another fabulous meal!

UPDATE: I got an email saying they were sorry. I came on to see what could be done. It turns out I just paid for an app that has ZERO 5 or 4-star reviews. My iPad app works fine. NOT my Android app. I can't login. I was LOVING this app until today when it told me I HAD to update to use the app. I did, and now the message won't go away so that I can use the app. It is stuck in a loop. I uninstalled and re-installed, and it's still doing it. Hopefully, they didn't get hacked or something weird.

EVERYONE loves this sandwich! It is a great make-ahead parking lot sandwich (after a show or game) while waiting for the traffic to clear out. Also a fabulous picnic go-to.

Best cordon bleu recipe I've ever had, a bit time consuming so plan ahead but it's a real treat.

So simple to make. I didn't have the corn on hand so I used frozen okra.

I am 73 and had never made lasagna before (actual seldom ever cooked much until last 2 years). although I have yet to figure out how to be neat...I made for a group and it got rave reviews! Several even asked to take some home with them!!!

Short work with the pastry cutter trick!

This was so fast and simple, and the results were terrific - better than fresh ground from the market! I only use 1/4 tsp of salt, which seemed to be enough to make the flavor pop and not be too salty. Cleanup was a breeze too - much easier than using blender. I going homemade from now on.

This was kinda quick coming together. I put regular cream cheese cause that's all I could get. It turned out very yummy. This one is going in the meal rotation for sure!

The price has DOUBLED since my original subscription in 2022 of $45! I was never informed of these transactions until I came across my recent receipt of $86.36! Each year it went up $10-$20 with no messages of why or that it was even happening! I want a refund for being scammed! America Test Kitchen used to be great till they got money hungry!

recipe directions were easy to follow and the soup was excellent. when I got done, I thought " this could use a dash of Worcestershire sauce". several other commenters had the same idea. turns out, I've made a similar recipe in the past and it had a dash of Worcestershire sauce. I had rated that one "excellent" too.

really wanted to like this app- they have lots of recipes, lessons/education....BUT, one huge issue. When I search for keto (low carb) recipes- a very common dietary subset, it would pull up recipes that were decidedly not keto. Mexican rice, chocolate wafer cookies, etc- not keto. when I would open the filters to narrow recipes that I see, Keto was an option to select. however, that filter choice did not have an effect and would pull up non keto items. ATK basically ignores the user's requests.

Notifications that are upsells are indistinguishable from notifications for content I'm already paying for until I click through. No way to turn off notifications for features I'm not currently paying for. A noticable portion of the time clicking through a notification takes me to "page not found".

So,...this app isn't free. You have pay to even look at at recipe! Here am I, getting extremely excited, then, it tell me "Free Trial." Yep, I guess it! Pay to SEE ANYTHING. I WAS STOPPED AT THE LOGIN SCREEN!! You: Whhhaatt?! Me: YES, IT'S ALL TRUE!!

I have fixed several times and made for company! Everyone loves it! They have called me for the receipt.

Delicious! I made up the ingredients ahead of time and put it together later in the day then cooked it. I did substitute Gluten -free lasagna noodles. I served it with salad. The recipe made enough for two meals for my husband and me (4 portions total)

it would be great if you could search for dishes per party size. I love to host dinner parties and it's hard to find recipes for 8+ people!

Being a 25+ year follower of ATK, this is actually my first review. And, of course, it turned out perfectly. I highly recommend it as a special dinner entree for a loved one!

easy meal that is full of flavor

Every recipe I've tried turns out just as I hoped it would. I love the ATK app & use it all the time. This past weekend I made the Turkey meatloaf for a camping trip. It was delicious & moist. It froze well & was still moist when reheated. My friend said it tasted more like beef meatloaf than Turkey. It's very flavorful. It will definitely be a regular in our meal prep🙂

It was an immediate uninstall for me, unfortunately. I respect the ATK name a lot but users can't even look at a single recipe on their app without being hounded to pay for a subscription or do a free trial. A suggestion for better ux: hold off on the prompts to pay until after a user has used it a few times, when they'll have a better impression of whether they'd even want to pay. Please don't do a bot response to this about the free trial or I'll have to break up with ATK for good.

This recipe makes the best loaf of bread. It's worth the time. Be sure to make the dough and get your folding done just at bedtime for a great loaf tomorrow.

Absolutely love this website. I don't even have to think about meal planning anymore. From their app, I pick the meals I want for the week and add necessary ingredients to the shopping list. I follow the recipes to the letter and have been very happy with the results so far. It's worth the price of the subscription and buying the ingredients versus eating at restaurants and not knowing what you are putting in your body.

I love the show, but not the app. The app refuses to show you even one recipe for free. They want you to sign up, give your personal data and give your money immediately. The internet is full of free recipes. I decided to uninstall this app and buy a Test Kitchen cookbook to get easy access to recipes legitimately.

I like the variety of recipes, but quite a few are rather involved or call for hard-to-find ingredients. The filter for recipes that take less than 45 minutes is helpful.

I have not made pie crust before. Granted I studied the video and read the recipe several times. So worth it. The rolling of the dough was fabulous 👌 Letting the apples macerate is a great technique and smelled wonderful. Follow this recipe to the tee

yummy! I made a few changes--added kale and cherry tomatoes to the zucchini. When the feta was added, I also added a handful of pine nuts for crunch. Finally, used thin sliced pork tenderloin in place of the chops. The pork came out very moist and tender. I would definitely make this again.

This app rocks. Amazing recipes well explained. The integrated shopping list is great, I love that it works between multiple devices. We can browse and save recipes on our tablet and then access the shopping list from our phone at the store.

So delicious! We make this soup on repeat AND I have to make enough to freeze so we can just pull it out when we want it.

It was really good with local peaches! The only thing I'm critical about is the carmelization in the middle. I checked it at 45 minutes and it was done, but I couldn't tell what the peaches looked like until I flipped it out of the pan. Didn't look golden brown but had a nice crunch and flavor. Great recipe!!

OMG! I just finished eating. I smoked the steak first, then did a reverse sear.. After I got the crust I wanted, I added the balsamic... What a keeper recipe!!!

I have been using a few new recipes from the app almost every month for the last several years, and I'm never disappointed with the results. The app is an excellent resource and I love the shopping list feature. The adittion of the "gift" a recipe feature is wonderful.

What can I say other than WOW! We did this, but used petit sirloin steaks. Otherwise the same. It was so delicious. Better than any Asian steak house. A must try. Ours was grilled over charcoal. Marinated the meat for twenty four hours.

I'm not a great baker. This bread is so easy and so delicious and I was able to make it successfully. I read the reviews about using parchment paper to help with the removal after baking. Thank you for that suggestion. I only used on the bottom and that was enough to allow for quick and painless removal. I will be making this again and will be proud to give the 2nd loaf away. I'll also be slipping the recipe in the gift bag because I know anyone who receives it will want it.

Very easy recipe to follow. surprised by the amount of bananas ,but the bread is moist and delicious. I live in high altitude and didn't alter recipe...just needed 3 more minutes to finish. Family agreed very moist and delicious.

Would be a great app, if they would make it actually affordable for real people. It's ridiculously expensive.

The cellphone app is great, but my only issue is that it doesn't support pinching with two fingers to zoom in and enlarge the font, which I need to read the text comfortably without glasses.

Very buggy, crashes all the time, can't get the search function to work properly, they want me to pay up front but won't tell me how much it costs so there isn't much you can do since everything seems to be behind paywall. This is a hard pass for me.

my dad has been subbed to Cooks Illustrated since the 80s and has every copy. this is way easier to navigate than his bins of magazines, which I cannot wait to formally organize in the library to end all libraries. if you aren't familiar with ATK, get this and try the recipe for whatever you want. follow the steps to the letter and it'll come out perfectly. every. single. time.

I had the Milk Street app, which I subscribe to (print) but one day it just disappeared! When I googled it, ATK was the result I got. so, I download it but they want to charge me for it when Milk Street was free with my subscription. they're getting a bit greedy at this point

In general , I love this app , but suddenly It's not letting me add new recipes to my favorites. I click on the bookmark icon and it just won't save period I tried it on my tablet and on my phone and I updated the app and restarted both devices but i'm having that trouble everywhere

Absolutely wonderful! Easy to prepare, actually FUN to pull together! Fantastic flavor (I toasted my broken pecan pieces before adding them to the syrupy mixture) and used about a half cup more. They came out of the pan perfectly, onto my dessert plate smoothly, and into my mouth deliciously! Excellent recipe. A favorite for my collection!

I made this for my parents last night. The only thing that I did differently was add about 1/3lb of smoked sausage. I didn't get to eat with them, but I grabbed some for my lunch. It was good when I was tasting for salt, but it is a wow as leftovers! Yes, on making it again!

as long as the app is working it's the best resource. I signed up this past fall and the app was running smoothly about 50% of the time. The last several months I have had no trouble at all. It's great!

This app never seems to be working when I'm trying to look something up the last couple months. It's incredibly frustrating to pay for access to recipes and the app to never work.

Amazing recipes, worst app ever. So close to cancelling because this app is so frustrating. Always spinning, crashing, asking to log in, unable to process login. Middle of cooking and you try to check a recipe but it just spins and doesn't even open. Find a recipe you like, try save it, it doesn't save. scrolling through recipes, find one you like, and then it doesn't open throw you back to the dashboard to start all over. literally the only good thing going is the recipes.

Glitchy and buggy app. I've been using this app for years and over the past few months commenting on recipes is impossible. When the keyboard pops up it completely covers the comment text box with no way to see what I'm writing. I need to use a browser to go to the website if I want to comment. Also recently scrolling will sometimes become laggy and jittery and awful. Printing is still not great. Just overall a bad app experience with too many bugs.

Tentatively giving the ATK App 2 stars. Most ppl are more generous than I could be. If I'm paying for something, it best work (almost) perfectly. From these comments, it does not. So I will wait to subscribe. Meanwhile I have the ATK Cookbook thru Kindle. Very Happy. And all their recipes thru to 2026!! 😉

Don't be fooled. You have to subscribe it will continually block you and ask to subscribe. Nothing is free. I am sure it's amazing but it's not a free app so just know you'll be leashed to a monthly payment which subscription based purchases are a terrible financial idea.

The Proof podcast promised the recipe for Levain cookies would be free on the app. In reality, ATK expects you to fork over your credit card to get the "free" recipe! I have no use for dishonesty like this. 1/11/26 In response to your comment, I already emailed for help. That is how I found out I had to give you my credit card. What I want is for you to fix your website and app to provide the promised recipe for all.

any time I try and look at ratings for good healthy products for my family im required to purchase a subscription. its sad that spending money is an absolute requirement to see product ratings.

Why can I not export my grocery list? I'd like to quick add ingredients to a grocery store delivery list, and I can't even screenshot the ingredients list to extract the text to do it semi-manually. This seems like a no brainer addition to the app.

I have always enjoyed this app but have not been able to use it for two weeks! Every time I try to access it, the app wants me to subscribe. I have already subscribed! My current subscription does not renew until April 2026. I sent an email to ATK and they responded that I have been in touch with their team and I should now be able to login. NEGATIVE. No one has contacted me about the issue I sent to them via email (including screen shots), and the app still wants me to subscribe again! 😡

Am a faithful watcher of TV show where you indicate we can get recipes show on website. Impossible task..very disappointed that you insist we join to move further on app.

Ridiculous technology. Payment goes through Google Play, so ATK can't fix anything regarding a subscription/membership payment. One screen says I need to renew my membership but it's active already. If I try to renew it says that I already have a membership. It let me do a trial so I could have access for 2 weeks, then billed me but now I can't get in, even though I should have 2 memberships under my email address. Rep said that every time the app is updated, users need to delete and reinstall

No free content in the app, constant popups to sign up and pay. The app is unusable for free. Great YouTube channel though, I think I'll stick to that instead of the app. I've been a huge fan of the content on YouTube for a while and downloaded the app since it was mentioned in a video. This app offers different content than YouTube and I don't know what I'd be getting if I paid. Maybe an approach like Nat Geo where like half the content is free would be better.

Extremely poor app performance on Android. I am using a Pixel 8 and I can't even load the app - it's just a white screen with a spinning red logo which never loads. Cancelling my subscription renewal on this basis.

This has to have the worst search function imaginable. I have a favorite called Sauteed Pork Tenderloin with Apples and Sage Cream Pan Sauce. Tried searching "pork apple" nothing, tried "pork sage" nothing, tried "apple sage' nothing. Tried my favorites but it would only show 10 of the 240. Finally had to resort to my PC and was still difficult to find. I am ready to cancel my subscription at this point.
