horrible, the update completely ruined a good app. I dont understand who thought this update was better than what they had before. before you could customize everything. shortcuts, apps, etc. not you cant do anything. you gotta scroll past 15 apps you dont even have or use to get the one you need.

used to work fine but the last update broke it and they havent fixed it since says connecting to firetv and never does worked perfectly fine 5 minutes before it updated just to flip the layout and make it worse and break the app so great work guys...

The latest update caused the app to no longer connect with my tv. I don't know what the point of the update is, but I can see it just caused trouble for me instead.

Lifesaver. When your remote stops working this controls the Fire device. Typing is normal phone typing and not that square box alphabet.

Since the most recent update, it is hard to rewind a video. I had to ask AI to rewind a video with the new remote. And I still don't get it.

Update is terrible! Please allow us to revert to the previous version. There is no rewind or forward button and the home button is in a dumb location. Why couldn't you just leave it alone?

This app is horrible. Its updates are always breaking its basic functions. It just updated (without permission) a couple of days ago and the power button stoped working. Today the power button works but the directional arrows dont. This led to a horrible incident were it auto played a trailer for an adult themed movie and my child was in the room. I was trying to use the arrow keys to move away from it (not knowing they didnt work) extremely frustrating.

This new update is trash. I cant set the few apps I do use at the bottom anymore. Theres no FF, Rewind, Pause/Play, buttons anymore.. its irritating..

You have to sign in to use it. It's pretty slow. It also stopped connecting randomly, I had to uninstall it and reinstall for some reason. It's worth getting if you have a hard time keeping track of your remote, but otherwise, I wouldn't say there's any reason to

The update now makes it show a bunch of garbage and fast forward and rewind are gone. Amazon is just really trying to see how far they push until people drop them. Going to just look for a new TV that isn't a Fire TV. You'd think that with all the money Amazon makes that they'd be less greedy and not squeeze even more out of their customers by forcing them to watch ads, not scam "better deals" with Prime (which is a joke), but they even charge extra for no ads and music. Boycott Amazon!

This app was fantastic once upon a time. Now every time we have to clear the data and start fresh to configure it. That too will take several times. Pathetic !

after the latest update, the remote functionality has become un intuitive. "Swipe and hold" action in gesture based remote control is removed. Fast forward option also removed.

Bring back the dedicated rewind, play/pause, forward buttons in the app. They are useful in some apps and act as shortcuts. Now I can't use some functions in STB EMU app because of this update.

honestly you could put movies on and you can really do anything you can control the remote but sometimes it could be really hard to like cuz I have to look at the my phone every second I'm going to press something

This used to get 5 stars but now it's 1 because the buttons don't do what they're supposed to. Hitting mute makes it pause or worse rewind. please fix the buttons. When I use a physical remote there are no issues. Also please bring back the controls on the lock screen so you don't have to unlock the phone and open the app edit: 4 stars, the new update fixed the buttons. But it would still be nice to have the lock screen controls

This new update is totally unacceptable to me. This is the first remote where the rewind and forward buttons have been removed. Please put the rewind and forward buttons back, just like they used to be in older versions.

The newest update is HORRENDOUS. Idk who in Amazon greenlit this... but the previous remote interface was way better. You cannot customize the order your apps are in and the play/pause button has been swapped out with the select button. It's a terrible mess.

Utterly useless. The only button that works since the update is the settings button.

since update, I'm using this app at least 60% less than before it. Better than half the remote buttons do nothing. you cannot reorganize the app tiles for the remote either. Just a poor new layout that doesn't seem was ready for release yet

New Update on Remote Sucks. I changed my rating from 5 to 3 stars. All the buttons you need are now tiny and hard to get to. Its also hard to find a specific show on your phone. You have to be looking at the screen instead. Before I could change the show from another room if my kids got on something inappropriate. I cant now.

Attn: Devs: The MVP on the new update is missing the "V". Roll it back. New update is horrendous. Eliminating buttons was foolish, which could be lived with if the app actually still detected/connected to firesticks/TVs. i've used this app every day for years. today, i was forced to download an update and now it won't connect to my firetv or my firestick.

the app updated and i hate it. the remote aspect changed and now I can't do anything. I can't change the volume or pause the show.. hate it.. it was fine the way it was before

this update is awful. its so disorganized and frustrating. takes forever to load on my phone when I had just used it. please fix it back.

Disappointing Update – Bring Back the Fast Forward and Rewind Buttons! The latest Fire TV app update has removed the separate fast-forward and rewind buttons from the remote interface. This has made the app much less convenient to use, especially with streaming apps that don't properly support fast-forwarding through the navigation buttons. The previous remote layout was much better and more user-friendly. Please bring back the dedicated fast-forward and rewind buttons

Doesn't work at all since update, on 2 devices I've tried (I uninstalled it on one device already but then it forced me to update it on my main device) Others have commented on issues with the app since the update but I literally can't use it AT ALL. It just says "Waiting for your Fire TV" constantly then nothing happens. On 2 devices. And it worked completely fine before. So I know it's the update where they've randomly decided to break the app. Uninstalling obviously since now it's useless.

It was good until the recent update. Now there are many features I dont need, I cant even find apps I use regularly. For instance, I've spent a minute looking for Prime. This was supposed to be a remote, not another Amazon Prime App right?

It's amazing how you can take a simple thing that worked well and make it laughably bad with one update. The forced apps list at the bottom that has no way to be rearranged, the lack of obvious pause/play/ff/rewind controls because someone figured what? The UI would be cleaner this way? It's not, it's functionally clunky and removing the shortcut to the FireTV settings makes it so that when an app requires a force close, I now need to navigate through multiple menus to get there. Flatly dumb.

It works well. I personally liked the old version. Everything you needed was on the screen and easy to use. I do not like the new format. It so far has said it can't control my volume, but the old version did. I finally found the volume control. At the bottom you have to tab to media for volume control. Everything works well now.

The new remote layout is awful... No more rewind and forward buttons, and the way of doing it now barely works correctly. The controls that they did keep are arranged in a weird circle shape, it's not practical at all. Having them in neat rows at the bottom was way nicer. There's not even an option to choose if you want this layout or the old one, and this new one is genuienly unuseable... The layout from before worked perfectly, there was absolutely no reason to do this...

Was ok it stop working on all our phones. The new 10/2026 layout is horrible. Who puts home button at bottom. Mic to close to buttons. Move up the main buttons.

new update on wifi remote made the interface worse. no fast forward or back. now you gotta scroll through the countless apps you don't have to find a app that is installed. my wifi always has to search for my remote. it's just trash now

Literally doesn't work. Just says "Waiting for your Fire TV" and the old dashboard was the best this new one looks like straight up trash. It looks like a kid designed it. The updates are getting worse not better. Please update and bring back the old dashboard.

Old version of app used to be good with all basic controls handy on phone. This new version is missing forward and reverse controls which makes this app not usable.

They updated the interface, and it is a if not broke don't fix it situation. They removed some of the functions, and the power button in the app no longer works.

Please either go back to the old version or add back the functionality of rewind/fast forward and pause + the app order
