“This is such a great app. You drive along and as you come to a point of interest or historical info, the application and you get the story. It’s like being with a tour guide in the comfort of your own car. Highly recommend. Want to find more of his areas and tour them as well.”
“I would definitely use it again. I love the automaticity of it, and that we learned about our next stop as we traveled toward it. So easy to use and packed with great information, hiking tips, location of bathrooms, Length of Trails, etc..”

the navigation is off. the stories are rubbish.
GPS portion kept getting messed up and the app was not playing the right messages for the location. had to tap location to get the right message for where I was. also randomly repeated itself. I downloaded the map and app at home and had full signal the whole time. NPS free app had not issue. would not recommend it.
This tour app provided an informative and extremely user friendly experience for my drive around Oahu. The narrator has a very pleasant voice and gives excellent navigation while providing insights into the sights in Oahu and the history behind them. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to gain a deeper understanding of the places they visit.
It was incredibly frustrating to get the app to download. Once we finally figured it out the tour itself was very interesting. We plan on downloading the Big Sur tour next.
This was such a lovely experience. I never knew something like this could be done. It was a tour and GPS in one. My husband and I loved every minute of it.
So much better than expected! Great little pieces of trivia along the route with excellent directions to see the high points! The narrator had a clear, pleasant, easy to understand voice. Definitely recommend!
I purchased the audio tours for Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. We used on the motorcycle. It made our trip so much better. Learned and saw things we never did the several times we had been before. Will definitely be doing many more places. Opens up places you never thought to look for on your own.
The opened app started the narative at any point on the tour. Enjoyable and informative commentary delivered in a timely manner to be able to stop at the upcoming point of interest.
wouldn't work right
great tour. although the gps was spotty at times, it was quite easy to find our way and manually activate the stories as necessary.
works well and has a great commentary.
Awesome app! 👌 👏
It was hard to hear Kenai mispronounced so many times. You should fix that!
this was a waste of money. the narration and GPS was not able to track to keep up and although it said it would automatically play it never did. I never got to use the entire thing because finding the correct information was difficult
Definitely enhanced our experience of the National Parks we visited in Utah. I feel this was worth the money spent.
Got to Gettysburg. Started the tour at visitor center. From there it went downhill. Way too crowded. Tour route confusing from the start. Don't recommend at all. Want my money refunded. wasted day.
we toured Gettysburg today with your tour. because we were driving around in our own car at our own pace, I learned more about battle field today than in 4 previous tours there. no disrespect to the Rangers they are fantastic.
Great time learned alot. Definitely will be doing more of these.
horrible. do not waste your money
Great tour! Very knowledgeable with extra background info & stories... really made the park come to life & helped us to stay on track as we traveled from segment to segment, highly recommend! Thank You!
an ABSOLUTE TRASH. Went to the starting point and the app never worked. yes, I am a very technically savvy software engineer. I will be asking for refund or dispute my credit card charge.
We did the audio tour in our 24 foot motor home and it was great. We hit all the major stops and I liked the way the tour guided us through the three days of the battle from Buford's engagement on the first day to Pickets charge on the last day. Glad we did the tour this way!
Worked great. No need to pause if you want to stop and look. It keeps up and starts right back. Took us to very pretty places.
Clear instructions. GPS locator keeps track of your location, and it automatically starts talking at the proper location. Lots of fun facts and info. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed the information and pace of delivery throughout our drive along the loop.
These tours are interesting and entertaining. There are enough pauses you can have a conversation with your friends. Highly recommend!!
very enjoyable snd affordable tour
Definitely have rooms for improvement. First and most importantly, the routes should be reversible. it's impractical to have an audio tour guide only allows one direction. Secondly, every time the narrative starts, you are taken to the chapter page which means you can't see the map. The map screen reappears after the narrative ends. I find it very annoying because I want to see the map to make sure i am on the route.
This a wonderful , entertaining, and culturally enlightening app. Preview stops beforehand for extra fees or reservations that might be needed.
Fantastic!! We would have missed so much without this!
very nice, lots of monuments to see. very precise direction. do not have to get out of the car if you dont want to.
FANTASTIC!
We paid $40 for the Atlanta audio tour and we're sorely disappointed. The tour comprised 23 stops giving only a cursory description of each, typically lasting more than 90 seconds. While it did get us to visit the city's highlights, we learned practically nothing from the narration.
Great tour, funny and informative content.
Excellent!
I use this on every vacation I go on. We always use a rental car making this the cheapest and more comprehensive City Tour! Ideal to use while waiting for the rental to be ready. Once you purchase a tour, it's yours! Can start and stop at any point, and resume at any time and any place. We were in Austin TX and the tour goes around Austin City Limits. We were touring as people were arriving for a concert. We skipped the area and resumed the tour, then went back to tour on a different day!
This tour worked great for us! We were able to change the order of the tour, pause it when we wanted a break, and replay interesting facts. Our friends hired a guide and they enjoyed it, but after 3 hours he was no longer able to talk so they did the remaining tour without a guide. We had a guide the whole time! Thanks
Excellent audio tour of Chichin Itza.
Tour guide thru Big Bend National Park Worked great, easy to use, very informative. Will use Action Tour Guide again.
Excellent your. Great narrator.
awful. not easy to use. can't find second tour we booked. keeps going to the first booked tour. won't move forward.
I thought this was a great tool to experience the Park. the information you gain beyond the beauty of the Park was very interesting. I would say my first time using a guide of this nature and looking forward to the next place to try a other. Thank you!
Best way to do this tour. You can choose where to get out and where you don't. Very informative.
I really enjoyed being able to stop along the way and take my time. I did not feel rushed and the information provided was awesome.
This is not for use solo. Vague directions while driving, would have to hold and look at phone while driving. Not going to do that. Took a while to get audio working. Spent what little time I had to tour Gettysburg area this afternoon. A waste of my money, but more importantly, my time. Until this is fully integrated with Google maps/Android auto, for me, traveling solo, it is useless/waste of time.
It was very interesting, educational, a great trip,. great for the money.
love this, we bought the whole package for the year. we've seen way more than we would have seen on our own and learned some facts along the way. I would love to have the option to search for tours along my route vs having to search for a specific destination. I would love the ability to only view the list I've downloaded instead of having to search for them by name.
very well put together
great tour! informative and interesting.
Superb. Had doubts before starting but it was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.
wonderful and cost effective way to tour Colonial Williamsburg! The app tracks your movement, recommends a route, and gives in-depth audio history on what you are looking at or where you are standing. You can do as much or as little as you desire. The app worked flawlessly for both me and my wife.
Excellent tours. Downloaded a package (California) and got our monies worth. San Francisco was a bit complicated to navigate but Tahoe / Yosemite / Napa / Silicon Valley were good! Would definitely use it again.
waste of money. gps terrible. only worked 5% of the time
Very informative and engaging. There was a lot of information to get through but we thought it was well narrated and easy to follow. However, as the cousin of Brig. General Elon Farnsworth, I was disappointed to learn that the story of his death was not included. His ultimate sacrifice for his Country is one that deserves recognition. Otherwise, highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Gettysburg!!
easy to follow, great description and narration
Couldn't stand the constant beeps during the drive!
Wonderful!
driving in ME Stories were great
guided us around ok, very little extra information or color commentary
excellent tour!!! didn't miss one stop or monument. highly recommend
Great audio tour. app kept track of us and started up when we reached the site. we stopped Milwaukee Cafe for li ch at stop #25.
The guided tour around Lake Tahoe was great. We enjoyed the stories and stopped at some of the recommended places. We would definitely use them again for future destinations!
Not terribly interesting from our perspective.
Provided interesting content about Portland Maine. We enjoyed it. We saw things that we would have never seen by ourselves.
I'm usually traveling by myself and enjoy the narration and information...! My latest was The Road to the Sun in Glacier National Park! AWESOME drive ... ♥️♥️
loved! highly recommend!
Very helpful as to each Scenic place to stop at and also nice to provide areas that have fee to access.
great experience!!! well made and made it very easy. definitely NOT 1-2 hours unless you literally don't stop and you do 25 the whole way. took us about 9 hours over two days to fully explore everything!
worst purchase I've ever made...only worked on Apple phones but I have an Android. won't work on that format. utterly a complete waste.
very educational
my guided tour through vickburg ms was perfect! the audio tells you where to go, shows you on a map in real time. suggests areas to stop and get out of your car. it auto plays as you approach areas so you dont feel rushed at all. loved my experience ♥️
great tour! It was perfect for us, those that were able could get out, while my mom, who has issues walking, could see and hear the story from the car. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed the description of the sites and history of the area.
great app. easy to use. see everything n the comfort of your own vehicle with AC. Save money
I did the Arches National Park tour, and it was awesome! I feel like I learned so much and didn't miss out on things! The narrator had a very pleasant voice as well.
What a great way to visit the battlefield at your own pace. We enjoyed the information and directions.
Your guide made the drive through the park a great educational experience. Thanks
We went both ways on the Cascade highway. The information did not change, so you heard the same thing twice. I thought there would be more interesting information than was shared for the cost. We have used other driving tour apps.
My family and I enjoyed the Battlefield Tour very much. A few hiccups in the beginning to figure out how to use it in the car. Overall very interesting...would definitely use them again!
this was an excellent experience, and it was a fantastic way to tour the Gettysburg battlefield in the comfort of our car's AC during extreme heat. my husband and I learned quite a bit as did our 8 year old son. the app was very easy to navigate after getting used to it during the beginning few sections. Thank you for the great tour!
Fantastic audio tour. Highly recommended.
we used this for the Gettysburg Battlefield tour. It flowed well and provided a lot of great historical facts and information.
Great facts and highlights
The information on the tour was very informative... the driving directions need to be updated to cover for road closures and places where you can't make the turn where it says to do so... also if you don't look ahead to note your turns- you'll find yourself having to slam on your brakes to turn..
It was a sweltering day in Gettysyburg with an 11 year old who hates hot weather and our 84 year old father who has trouble walking. We opted for the audio tour in the hopes it would keep everyone's interest. The Gettysburg Battlefield Self-Guided Driving Tour was more than worthwhile! The narrative was engaging, the pace was good, and the exquisitite timing with the drive through the area was incredible. It was nice for those who could to be able to get out and walk around a bit. Well done!
nice app would be better if worked with Android auto
there should not be an option to start from your current location. it was very confusing and took us the wrong direction multiple times.
Good tour, leads you to streets you would normally not take as a torist. We skipped some of the stories, because they felt a bit too long while we were driving. Sharing option with the car display would have been nice, that didn't work.
Smoky Mountain Trip is amazing, I learned so much about the history and the people, along side the natural History. 10/5 Stars....
Gettysburg tour was outstanding
diffucult (pswd) to login, once in great ! thanks
worked well until cell service is unavailable.
Awful technical foundation for setup before tour
Great afternoon! Loved the audio tour. Especially liked the audio continuing after stopping at a site. Very enjoyable afternoon. Would recommend this!!!!
enjoyed the guided tours of the Acadia national park. lots of useful information and easy to navigate.
We took the Gettysburg Battlefield self tour and then purchased the Devil's Den self guided tour as well as the Ghosts of the Battlefield self guided tour. All were GREAT and you get to take them at your pace.
Difficult to figure out at first. I was toggling between the narrative and the map for the first hour. The narration didn't work at first, unless I clicked on "story" and then clicked on the location #. Then the narration started automatically when we reached that destination. Sometimes. It never came on for 14 of the destinations (out of 66) so we missed the narrative of those spots on the tour; disappointing. It also will not correct you if you make a wrong turn, which we did twice. Leav
I absolutely love this app! My third purchased guided trip was excellent! Made our Yellowstone trip extraordinary!
Not great for LA tours. Map guidance insufficient. much easier to just get a list of addresses and plug them into Google map. Save yourself the money.
Excellent description of the history of the island communities, in addition to flora and fauna. Timing needs to be double checked - missed one turn and got stuck at a stop sign not knowing which way to go till the narrative finished.
This was the first time using this kind of app. I liked the narrator's voice in Action Tour Guide. I liked the narration starting automatically. I did have some problems finding the little blue dot (where I was on the map). That may have been because it was so bright outside. The only real issue was when making a side stop at starbucks, getting the app to start talking again. It took a couple of minutes of pressing but I got it working again. I would do another tour this way in the future.
The Auto Tour for the battlefields at Gettysburg was informative and enjoyable. I was able to pause and take my time exploring each monument. It took me two days to explore everything and its a trip I will never forget and I owe all of the information I learned to this app!
It made our Gettysburg trip very enjoyable, leading us through the battlefields and describing markers and local trivia (the hole in the barn from the cannonball - wow!) that we would have never known. we started in town per the app, but then decided we wanted to go straight to the battlefields since our time was limited. It found us immediately at the North Carolina monument and picked up seamlessly from there. Overall, it truly made our trip into a very great, educational, private tour!
just completed the Guam tour. it was a good way to pass the time. I would suggest adding more historical information such as the migration of the Chamoro people, the Spanish arrival and world war two. there are missed opportunities to really share all that Guam has to offer. there are a lot of hikes and routes that are not included.
It was such a great tour! We found this while in Gatlinburg and used it for Cades Cove and wow. I expected it to have some cool information, but it completely blew my mind with how well it worked. It is obvious there was a lot of time put into these. I will for sure use this for future trips! Phenomenal!!
Moved at a great pace, very informative and lots of places to pause and exit your vehicle if you choose. Only issue is it does not save your place if you stop and restart at a later time unless I missed the way to do it. I would recommend the app to everyone
It was super convenient to have the app triggered by location. The stories were engaging and the narrator had a good voice. Sometimes a story was cut off by the next if they were close together. Good value for a DIY tour of Lake Tahoe.
Pretty cool app, we rented a slingshot in St. Augustine and wanted to do some kind of driving tour while we had it so we got the A1A Scenic Costal Highway tour. It was a nice route and had super interesting information. Very easy to use with directions given in-between telling us info about what was around us. Worth the money if you have a good vehicle to use for driving or want to walk around doing your own pace rather than in a non-stop tour group with a bunch of people.
The GPS driven method is finicky and frustrating. If you move too quickly, it skips to the next story. Finding the precise starting point where the narration would start, took 15 minutes of crossing the street and crossing back and crossing again. The narration was too much a list of dates and numbers with little to retain unless you're able to memorize on the spot. The directions were, at times, confusing. "The building on the left" was a parking lot. Overall, not recommended...
we did the Oregon coast tour. We loved the information given, but the timing was off. They would talk about upcoming detours that we wanted to see, but then go onto another topic and we would miss the turn. This happened multiple times. Several times we had to pull over and stop for me to try and figure out where we were exactly. The GPS was accurate. I would have loved “Turn here” instructions for the side trips.
Enjoyed our tour of Boston escaping the large your groups. Very reasonable price, well organized and enjoyable at our own pace. Probably easier in a car or in ear buds, at times with background noise family of 4 had to turn it up a bit for all to hear. Overall very manageable and enjoyable.
I first started with the Kings Canyon and Sequoia tour and enjoyed it. I decided to purchase the 25 National Park tours. I used the 25 Park Tour for Yosemity Park and enjoyed that also. I am looking forward to using it for other parks as we are traveling the USA.
Very enjoyable tour of The Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona! Who knew there was so much to see. It's worth the money. National Parks has one, but this is better. Clear directions, enough time to prepare for turns, and coordinated well to the route. It's excellent narration about what you will be seeing. The history put in throughout really brings things to life in your imagination. We highly recommend and will look for others.
We initially had an audio issue until we read about turning off the Bluetooth function. Thereafter we were able to use the travel guide and listen to the commentary. At times, we could not identify the houses that were being discussed. Overall, we enjoyed the tour.
I bought two tours: Napa & Sonoma and San Francisco. They worked fine. With N&S the stories about the region and wine making were interesting and entertaining. We discovered places we wouldn't have without the app. But the tour ended suddenly in an empty road not knowing where to go or what to do next. The SF tour was difficult and confusing to follow. You lose GPS signal among big buildings and the app doesn't know where it is. N&S recommend, SF not so much. I MAY try other tours in the future.
Great idea and will definitely give it a try when in las Vegas soon, but definitely needs to support android auto as if my hire car has that I will definitely be using it for other drives, so will become fiddly to have to keep exiting android auto and use the phone in a cradle to use this app rather than being able to use a fully integrated experience. But I'll give it a go.
I had some trouble initially getting the app on my phone to run on the car audio but they had me covered in the help section. The tour was very well done. It tracked my position and played the narration parts exactly where I was so, no matter the traffic, I was always in sync with the program. If I took the optional turns for stops, the program played the information for the stop, if not, the program continued on the main route. Very slick. Added a great deal to our visit.
Really enjoyed the tour. The only problem was at the beginning where we were in areas where the speed limit was more than 25 and the narration got confusing. We had to turn around a couple of times but once we were out on the battlefield, it was wonderful. We were blessed with a beautiful day and even met a few locals who gave us even more history of the area.
Nice to have the information of the different places as we were driving in Lassen Volcanic National park . Lots cheaper than the other tours. The place was amazing. Wish we could have done the trails but we were with an older couple. We still had lots of fun,
Easy! Not tech savy, but no problems using it. Download before you go. Can't believe I've been visiting NP without it! The more I use it, the more comfortable I'll feel venturing out on some of the other detours on the map and getting back to my designated tour without issue.
Highly recommend this app when touring Joshua Tree National Park. It was easy to use and helped us navigate the park. Lots of interesting information and tips for must see places! We appreciated how they also gave anticipated hike times for the trails. Money well spent!
Very glad I used this app. Gave driving prompts and auto played based on GPS location. Very educational and informative. The app allowed you to purchase additional walking tours along the route, but offered some free deep dives at stops. Very smooth operation well worth the money.
Took a bundle option around Ashville and the blue ridge parkway. This is a great product. As others have said the GPS can be a little off, but we found just keeping the map to hand helped find the right pin. our pace of walking was too fast so we always stopped at the pin to listen. We managed to link my phone to our hire car too. We enjoyed the freedom of doing things at our own pace, whilst gaining the benefit of a fun narration to our surroundings. I’d definitely recommend.
We downloaded the app for the Palm Springs tour for vacation. Having never been ti Palm Springs but knowing a little of history, the app was great in finding the things we heard about. The directions were easy to follow and the narrative and stories were great. Thank you.
We did the tour from the West entrance. What a great self guided tour. Loved the narrator. Not only was it precise and easy to follow but very informative on the area and the history of the park. If you prefer the freedom of being in your own vehicle, and guiding yourself, I would highly recommend this tour. It really was great.
Really well done app and worth the price. It was easy to use and follow the directions. The information and narration was very well done. It was awesome being able to go at your own pace. The only thing I would say needs improvement is if you could get it to work with Android Auto that would be awesome! Also, there were a couple spots on the route on main roads with speed limits above 25 so the narrator was cut short. Those narrations could be adjusted. Otherwise it's great!
The app worked well 80% of the time. It did not include information on an area that was closed for parking just before Lexington. I was able to see my location via a blue dot but couldn't see the advance route so I took a few wrong turns. The history information provided was great!
Echo a few other people here, poor app design hides the map and gives poor navigation. You have to stare at the phone to know where to go if you are the driver you die and if the passenger is navigating you will miss every turn. There was also some political opinions offered that don't belong in a tour keep. Would refund if I could.
Does not give prices breakdown or description of what is included in price. All it says is $84.99 at the top of one of the East Coast tours but nowhere on the app does it state if this is a yearly fee and does it cover other geographic areas or what is exactly included in the fee. We just want to take a single trip to Nags Head NC & of course don't want to pay $85 for a one day audio tour. They should have a cheaper option for this type tour. Even in the FAQs there is no topic on the prices!!
Excellent detail. And has different levels of how deep you want to go into the history. So in many instances, there is a chance to "explore more" either by reading from the app or having a sub-tour of that particular location.
Just bought Smoky Mountain self-guided tours. Listened to the first few stops to check them out. I'm excited to use them next month when we go the Tennessee! Used these self-guided tours out West and also bought the Cape Cod MA and the Newport RI self-guided tours. They were all so informative and easy to follow. We were able to stop where we wanted along the way and then pick up where we left off when we were back on the route. I would definitely recommend any of these tours.
This is an amazing app. Functions beautifully. It's real important to download everything using wifi before you start to drive to the starting point. Once at the starting point, get yourself oriented, the app functions beautifully. It starts playing and giving you a preview to come. I would not have enjoyed the tour as much without the additional stories and narratives. The getting started is the most challenging part, but once you're on the road headed in the right direction, it flows.
Absolutely lovely, this will function without any internet (you are instructed to download the content while you have connection or WIFI). I've used some apps that should function without internet and sadly don't. This was not an issue here. The trip was so much better using this guide! It pointed out so many things we would have missed otherwise. I used this for the Cades Cove tour. Phenomenal and definitely recommended!
Very informative and enjoyable. worth the money. in the beginning, it was a bit confusing, but once we were able to find the starting point, it was fine. The street names were not easy to find. Once we were on our way, the audio tour was informative and fun. We would definitely do it again and recommend it to others.
Gettysburg Battlefield tour was very informative. Directions and information were clear. It was a bit frustrating to utilize the map within the app because it was forcing a focus on "our location" so zooming in or out in order to see other things on the map was not easy/doable.
Review for Zion and Bryce canyon national parks: I absolutely love the Action tour app. The tours were well planned especially those landmarks' histories and storytellings. It is very convenient with an all in one app combined with an offline map, audio guide, and tour book. It will be my future tool for all my trips moving forward. Well done and please keep up the good work 👍
This action tour guide app stopped download at 18% in my hotel room, which was far away from wifi signal. I walked to lobby and the app downloaded smoothly. (I was in a strong wifi area of my hotel). Then, during our tour at Gettysburg, using GPS, the app started to play audio right as we approached a new site. The timing of each story was perfect. Would recommend.
It would be a lot of bang for the $ if it worked. the navigation in the Smoky Mountains was hit or miss at best and no audio at all. The app took us 28 minutes from the desired starting point on the first day ......
Did a tour of Quebec City. The map kept disappearing every time the talking started, so I didn't know where I was going. The guide talked too long and often got cut off by the next turn/attraction. It was a very stressful experience. If we detoured because of construction, app gave no help to get back on course.
Loved the White Sands National Park tour! The stories and facts were engaging, and the white sand was beautiful, though the hike was challenging due to the heat. The safety tips were useful. I'd recommend downloading and trying out the tour before going, just to get the hang of the app. Highly recommended!
Despite terrible weather, it was a great tour. Werner was out tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The experience with this tour company cannot be matched because they are the only tour company that has back road access....you therefore don't have to wait to get into the park. We saw LOTS of wild elk. I would take this tour again...in warmer weather!
We found this app on a whim, downloaded it, and headed out. It was a little confusing at first because we came to the first intersection pointed the wrong way. Once we got going the right direction, we were in business! The narrations were so much fun to have! It was challenging to toggle back and forth between the map and the stories. Watch the YouTube tutorial. We're glad we did it and would recommend it. You get a lot closer to the homes in your car than on the big bus tours.
The app conflicts with Google Auto. The Austin tour tells you to "get in the left lane" several times where doing so would take you directly into oncoming traffic. The tour tells you to turn left into right turns. And the points of interest have less personality and depth than Wikipedia. All in all, a boring, buggy, uninteresting waste of time.
Great app. Used this tour for Gettysburg today and we will definitely be using it again! The mapping worked very well, the narration was great. It looks like there are a ton of place where we plan on traveling where there are more tours. It presented a lot of "side quests" as I called them, like optional 30 minute walks for additional content. The price was really good for what you get. We'll definitely be sharing with friends.
You can only do the tour in one direction as the stories run into each other the other way.. And you have to listen to the intro EVERY time. Not designed for Android Auto either. Shame as other tour guides like this eg Revealed Kauai and GuideAlong work very well
Had some trouble downloading several tours so I contacted customer service. Wish that every customer service for every app was as quick to respond and has helpful and resolving a problem. Tina was truly concerned and immediately resolve things. Absolutely recommend highly this app. It's extremely helpful while traveling and getting to see sites but, mostly, I'm glad to see that if I need help, they're there.
This app worked well on my 2 year old moto G power. The only hiccup was when my truck and the phone disagreed on which would play the audio. The fix was to disconnect the phone from the truck bluetooth. The run through Joshua Tree was like a great preview of things we would come back to later to see in more depth. I would recommend this app/bundle to anyone visiting Palm Springs & Joshua Tree National Park.
We loved the excellent history narrative that popped up as we drove through Joshua Tree National Park! It gave us an excellent overview in order to select hikes that were most interesting to us. I particularly enjoyed that it used GPS in order to make sure that we heard information applicable to where we were in the park. There were several points where we had to drive out and back and it would play there information again in reverse and the audio clips were amusing to hear in the wrong order.
I really liked the concept of this app, which I downloaded as a self-guided tour to Chichen-Itza. It was easy to access, download, and use. The one issue was that the GPS circles around the different areas within the site were slightly off, so I realised too late that I wasn't listening to the correct section as I walked around the site. Tightening up the GPS would make this an ideal way to self-guide around historical sites.
We took the Hollywood Celebrity & Star Homes Self-Guided Tour and it was amazing! The beginning was a bit confusing, but once we got the hang of it, we had no issues. The tour is very detailed and we'll done. It took us through many areas that we probably wouldn't have gotten to on iur own. It was the best way to see Beverly Hills!
I had all kinds of issues trying to join the tour beyond the starting point and getting Bluetooth to work. Had to spend some time at the end of day 1 to read all the instructions and everything worked well on day 2.
great potential! but not much detail. we did the Coba Mayan Ruins. almost half the site wasn't even included in the tour. most of the audio material was very high level and didn't provide much detail. The map had a route and waypoints but was basically blank Google maps with no marked details. might ask for a refund, i don't think i got value and wouldn't do it again.
This was the first time my husband and I have done an audio tour by car. It was fantastic! Super easy to use. The recording gave excellent directions and the tour content was engaging, thought provoking and instructive. We keep talking about how much we enjoyed the experience. I can't wait until we get another chance to take a car tour!
Narrator talked and gave info on everything, except we was never in the correct location. We did the grand canyon tour and it kept telling us to drive out of the park. Took a great day and turned it sour. What a joke. We was so frustrated after an hour of trying to get this to work We just left.
Purchased the Lake Tahoe self guided tour. It was not as expected. We expected a narrated tour that would tell us where to turn and where to go for interesting locations. instead, most of it consists of stories of mythology, such as lake monsters, rather than telling you where to go and how to get there. for example, you would think that the Olympic village, where the Olympics were held, would have been an interesting place to see, but nothing was mentioned about how to get there.
I was very disappointed in this app. First, we had difficulty getting the app to work. After finally getting the audio figured out, we used a tour in Portland, Maine. The narration never coincided with what we were seeing. It was so bad that we finally left the tour. Our next tour was the Kancamagus Highway - Lincoln, NH. We had better luck with this tour, but there are better apps. Do yourself a favor and get the Guide Along app instead. I recommend Guide Along to everyone I know.
We did the Cape Cod tour. Wanky and unsafe. If you're forced to detour or if you should miss a turn, good luck getting back to the right spot in the app. And if you're the driver trying to navigate, it can be unsafe. Not recommended.
We used this for The Gettysburg Battlefield. It took a minute to figure it out at first because it took us through a bit of the town getting there. Once we figured it out, it was pretty easy to follow and we were able to just follow the tour and stop where we wanted. Allow at least 3 hours for this tour.
We thought this would be a fun way to explore Baltimore and give us a break from all the DC walking. It started ok, but wouldn't let us access the directions feature so we didn't know where to go next. So we tried to just look at the map, but it was a task to figure out where we were and where we needed to be and manage traffic. It cut middle of a story if you got to the next location. It assumes you get out and walk a bit, but we just wanted to drive. got too frustrating to use so we quit
At the cost of very good rates, these self guided tours turned an aimless road trip through Southern Utah into something meaningful and extremely fun! The audio stories were informative and entertaining, and hearing descriptions of the passing hiking trails along the way made for picking and choosing our hiking options very easy. I highly recommend!
Incredibly disappointed with the tour. The computer generated talking was hard to listen to for any period of time. The points of interest that were covered were really not very interesting and we drove by all sorts of places we would have loved more information on. Driving turns were given at the last possible moment so many turns were almost missed. Overall the tour was like listening to a lecture from a monotone boring teacher. Very disappointing. Certainly not worth the cost.
Like having a tour guide in your car. Sets your GPS to take you to the starting point and shows you the route on the map. Audio automatically plays at each numbered location. Interesting commentary made the experience more meaningful. Could use more GPS guidance (though the tour line on the map is clear). The developers actively ask for feedback--and respond personally, so the real people behind the app are responsive and that's rare.
Great voice, good info but poor technical/directions. He doesn't give warning of turns far enough in advance. This caused us to miss a turn because the lanes physically separated with a barrier BEFORE he gave a direction. And then we went through a tunnel and came out the other side and missed the immediate turn because we didn't have signal in the tunnel. Suggestion: if you miss a turn, tell us how to get back on tour. We had to pull over, look up the address of the next stop in Waze to contin
The app does not stop running. Even if you close it. Got notification of a developer response. Yeah? Where is it? Just like the rest of my life. GHOST. no response despite getting multiple notifications. How do I get two extremes? One won't turn off the other won't turn on. Exactly my dumb life. Thanks universe for playing along.
Fantastic app! We did the Gettysburg Battlefield Tour at the end of a lot of paid tours in Washington DC. This was so informative and engaging. Everyone ages 8-41 in our car enjoyed this. All directions, even starting from our hotel, were clear. Everything was clearly marked. I will definitely download another tour in the future! The only thing is that a few times you double back on a road and audio from the other side of the road replays. Just a consideration for the next update! :)
The app was really good, using your location it would start to talk to you once you approach each point of interest, just as a tour guide would. It contains a lot of information and theres even extra information at some points to check out. You download the tour over WiFi and then can turn off mobile data whilst using the tour. All in all including taxis and the entrance fee we did Tulum with this guide for half the price that the hotel tour experience costed and we could go at our own pace.
The app is a good value if you want to explore on your own time. We purchased the Maui Road to Hana Tour. Instructions were good to the starting point but could have been a bit more clear on where to start and when to begin. We enjoyed the historical content when driving. However, when we started to hit the spots on the Road to Hana the narration was out of sync where we would pass the item to watch out for. Rather than "stay straight" the voice should mention the next point of interest. The Road to Hana is narrow and crowded. App does not give enough warning so you can plan to stop if you want. The instructions an app should also give you some warnings on how narrow and primitive the road is. First timers would probably like to know the road is at places only 1 car wide. App final stop is a National Park. It would also be a good idea to advise the user the best way back to civilization. If you continue on Hana around the island the road becomes dirt only 1 lane and in places dangerous. (just an option or warning would be good) We enjoyed the commentary and for the price a good value but app does have its short comings
The tour was informative and well planned out. We could go at our own pace. The narrator was clear to understand and entertaining. There were many options available in app and easy to follow instructions. The tour was recvd in email quicker than expected. The maps detailed and easily understandable.
We purchased the full Utah package, it was a very good price. Our tour of Canyonland park was a battle with my cell phone to hear the content. We also loaded the guide on Samsung tablet and it worked great. I learned a lot about Arches. Highly recommended, I would not try it on just a cell phone. My Pixel 3a XL almost drove us crazy.
I really like this app. I downloaded the bundle tour for Boston / Massachusetts including Cape Ann. I called customer service because I didn't get a number that I was supposed to type in at some point and the man at the other end was absolutely the most helpful man that could be. I started to lose service and he was very calm and just waited and said he would call me back if I lost him I was afraid I was going to lose my money and he made it so I had a very enjoyable experience he was great.
