Great depth of news but the app needs improvement. It badly needs a proper dark mode.

keyboard overspills onto android 3 button navigation cannot type bottom row of keys

puzzles do not fit page.

Recent Update left the puzzles section unusable. A recent update resulted in a clash between the onscreen keyboard and Android navigation buttons at bottom of screen. Any answer requiring letters z to m cannot be input. Please fix ASAP.

As at least one other person has pointed out, since the latest update a few days ago the puzzles are not displaying correctly. Because of this, it is now nearly impossible to use the bottom line of text on the keypad display (that is, the line that goes from 'z' to 'm') when I am doing crosswords in the app. For me, having online access to the puzzles is one of the main reasons for keeping my subscription going. So you have a commercial incentive to fix the problem, and quickly.

app is easy to navigate and notifications are relevant to my interests. Technically, the app needs to improve. very silly that app needs to be connected to constant Internet to stay open, often I close the app I lose the article I was on. it often sends me back to home page or it uses cookies to send me to an article I read ages ago. this links in with the lack of ability to read articles offline. frustrating there is no option to download "today's articles" up until time of download.

The app works perfectly on my Android phone. On my Android tablet it starts up as you'd expect and goes to any article as expected. However it then immediately jumps back to the main Telegraph screen making it unusable on my tablet. I've tried reloading and clearing data and cache but the problem doesn't go away.

DT you've still not corrected the really annoying issue with the scrolling of comments. I can't be the only one experiencing this problem. Get into your IT Project Manager and sort this out pronto. thanks! Oct 25th 2026. another bug introduced whereby letters cannot be entered into the crossword as the andriod menu sits over the top of the keyboard.

Fix one issue and create another. The latest "fix" screwed up the keyboard on the word games making the crosswords almost impossible to complete and leaving no chance of bettering your PB.

Once again an update has messed up puzzles so that the bottom line of the virtual keyboard can't be accessed.

I have a print edition subscription. I am unable to log in to the online version and am always redirected to an annoying invitation for a trial period on something that I've been paying a lot of money for since 2008. The help desk is useless and the next step maybe to leave the Telegraph entirely when I get the next exhorbitant bill? Pity the Telegraph has been my daily read and crossword for 60 years.

its not too bad on my phone but very bad on my S11 tablet, its very frustrating trying to log in, and puzzles often wont load.

The Puzzle section doesn't work as you'd hope. it doesn't save progress properly so if you're on your commute and (as happens every 2 minutes in the UK) you lose mobile coverage it doesn't save your results and you have to redo the puzzle again, and then it screws up the timing. You need to be able to play and save the puzzles offline to be useful to UK commuters.

I can't log in to view anything. Pressing the log in or the create account button does nothing, so the app is completely useless because it spam locks you in a log in screen you can't interact with. Terrible.

good journalism let down by awful sales and marketing. instead of a plethora of unintellible trial offers followed by silly-high £30pm subs, it shld be more affordable, simple £5pm more people would stay subscribed. rookie business error.

login link doesn't link since last update, so can't login and use the app now, as described by David Hart previously. Customer services just says send this or that info or screen grab as if it is my fault. Had all this with other apps which now login with no problem Why can't these software kiddies just accept that their systems sometimes do have faults?

The new version (2025) doesn't rotate to landscape. on the home screen you can pinch zoom in. But open an article and you can't pinch zoom in. Why?

Can you please stop new comments from automatically appearing at the top of the comments section. It constantly moves all the comments down & makes it impossible to read them at times - a bad user experience. Let us read them & then select new comments.

The app jumps about all over the place as you're writing a comment it jumps to another article losing your comment altogether. Please sort it out.

App worked fine for 5+ years on multiple devices. Recently, unable to login. Customer support leaves a lot to be desired (they repeatedly ask for the same information). The app has been broken for several weeks. Not good enough considering subscription charge. Update: Now broken for several months. Would score 0 stars if possible.

Impossible to cancel. Only able to cancel by phone call, but when I rang call centre operator said I would have to call back next week, and couldn't cancel on the day.

Update August: Still not able to read any articles in the app, customer service just suggest using the web browser. Defeats the point of having an app. If you know it doesn't work and don't intent to fix it, get rid of it. February: Cannot actually read articles. The app teases you with half a second glimpse and then returns you to the home page. Useless. Reminds me why I keep trying to cancel but it's too difficult to ACTUALLY cancel.

After switching to a new android phone I couldn't login / subscribe to the app. It took a while for the subscription department to find what was wrong. It turns out that the logon / subscribe link tries to open in your default browser. In my case it was Opera,which doesn't work, but changing to Chrome made it work. The developers also belatedly got back to me but it took them longer! However, all is now well and the app works as desired.

Beware! When you try to cancel a subscription, they will offer a discounted rate, which if you subscribe, you will end up paying the full price instead! This happened to me not once but twice, and they refused to give refund. I am still pursuing it. They state, you can cancel it anytime but sometimes you won't be able to do it online.

I have nothing but praise for The Telegraph, irrespective of which method I choose to use as each one is extremely informative, often showing articles that other papers don't! I am a daily reader and do my best to read each article (although not sport!). Every story is full of enjoyable enthusiasm and a pleasure to read. I used to subscribe to other papers too but have removed myself from all, except yours as I can't do that! A credit to you and all your staff! Well done. Exceptional newspaper.

Disappointed that I can no longer read my newspaper in a horizontal position. Tell me I am incorrect!

The comments jump about when you are trying to read them. Each new comment causes this, and it makes it highly irritating to read them! Also, please allow pictures to be zoomed in on. Just allow pinch to zoom And lastly, when I search for an article, sometimes giving the actual headline, the app won't find it. But if I google search, I find it straight way. Actually, on reading this I think the answer is to uninstall the app. Well done for making an app that is worse than the website 👏🏼

Great and now 3rd year Subscription ... even read a Saturday Special : Fashion & Beauty :) this year 1st it iNspired my shop for summer baggy Palazzo striped blue, comfortable trousers ... versus long summer, cotton, lite, dresses that blow up in a breeze :)

Sign up is online and if you want to cancel it is via a phone and bizarrely an interview, I usually dip in and out of newspaper subscriptions but the telegraph makes is so hard not to renew i wont bother with them again. app is terrible too.

Using app on Samsung Galaxy Tabs since 2020, but in spite of online help about ten days ago (when it was felt this was a "device specific" problem needing referring onwards at DT, no email of further progress from DT). Multiple uninstalls/downloads, but I cannot get any response from the Login button. The app continues to work perfectly on the old Tablet now used by my husband. I need it to function on my new Samsung Galaxy A11+ Tablet. No other probs with new Tab. Anyone else similar problems?

It's dreadful. It's far more concerned with misleading attention grabbing headlines that usually are trivial points expanded clickbait viewers. I also find it sodding irritating that the app jumps when reading it to show another advert

All I'm getting is the page asking me to subscribe again (3 months free offer) which I can't escape from! have uninstalled and reinstalled more than once and keep getting the same page. totally useless I'm afraid!

Always exceptional

The home page articles are often click-bait designed to generate comment, but most of the comments are now moans & tantrums with very few that are informative. The comments section is poorly designed & temperamental, so expect to delete/reinstall the app quite often. Almost no ethnic coverage, though Jewish coverage is good but comments can get aggressive. The other sections are actually readable, interesting & informative. Not worth paying full price but no one does as special offers abound.

Timely updates, critiques and analyses on the most important topics; national and international.

Much improved games area in the DT app since earlier releases. And as ever, contains inspiring journalism covering all genres. One of those rare apps that offers good value for money. 👍

Deep and often highly amusing coverage of politics, current affairs and culture. Main criticisms are recent unhelpful and cruel obsession wiith Prince Andrew and also a distinctly woke tendency in articles of some younger writers-ie using female pronouns when describijng men. I also wish a good editor would insist on correct use of titles -eg Lady Beckham not Lady Victoria Beckham and Lord Mandleson not Lord Peter Mandleson.

It is not possible to read comments anymore. The screen constantly scrolls as new comments are added. new comments should only be visibke when requested. waster of time, easier to use the web interface.

I have just renewed my annual subscription online but the app will not recognise this. I updated from the Play Store with a fresh install and now the subscriber login option is completely unresponsive. Please sort out the subscriber log in! Still not working!

The in app adverts for telegraph subscriptions to share with others for 4 months free is highly intrusive continuous and therefore extremely annoying as they cannot be stopped. Please sort other than this problem the app is excellent.

Maddeningly designed, or rather not designed. Frequently fails to load saved articles. Back button always takes you to end of article list instead of place your where before selecting something to read. latest update has a popup every time you open an article. now with added spam in adverts for fake tools and other rubbish.

used to be very good. now merely average with strange happenings every day eg. unable to contribute to conversations on articles, inadequate software supporting contributions with a poor AI interface which randomly decides if a word is acceptable or not, slow to dead slow ability to contribute as above. crazily, updates on the digital DT when I assumed it was a digital version of a printed newspaper! Get rid of "4 months free advert". Wouldn't recommend 1 day!

The Telegraph app works well on my phone. It has features I like giving access to the separate sections. I appreciate being able to go back after reading articles.

Every story is accompanied by the most annoying notification in the middle of the screen, "send this link to a friend and they get 4 months free". Utter rubbish!

I love it!

Won't work on Samsung S24+. Worked perfectly on old phone - an S22+ but since getting new phone, I cannot log into App. Unusable so have had to delete. Customer services are friendly but clueless. Will be canceling subscription at end of contract if no solution is available. A real shame as I enjoyed using it.

Informative and to the point

This app has ongoing issues that multiple reviewers have raised, including me, over the last two years. When opening links from the web the app routinely opens the wrong page. I end up having to open articles in new tabs on the browser to read what I've chosen. The worst is the puzzles. There is no offline mode so you can easily lose progress or see weird behaviour. Today it recorded my cryptic crossword solve time as 19 seconds because the app couldn't handle offline edits.

This has got to be one of the most annoying apps ever invented. It constantly jumps about all over the place which is particularly irritating when you're trying to read the letters. I prefer to read the Telegraph through my browser but I now find I have to install a new browser to do so. I wish the Telegraph would employ some people in their tech dept who actually know what they are doing.

Completely useless since the update. Glitchy, with absolutely no option to post comments or read them. It is certainly not worth a subscription as it currently stands.

This app allows access to well verified news from around the world and of course the UK

The news and commentary are excellent. The comments section on most stories allows you an insight into what the man in the street is thinking. You do get the odd apparatchik with an axe to grind but they are easy to spot. The fact that the journalists are not always singing from the same hymn sheet is a big advantage of the newspaper format. Podcasts, by comparison, tend to be one dimensional and chosen because you agree with what they say, so they're more of an echo chamber.

Still the very best news app

This app worked perfectly until one day it suddenly stopped. The link to log in does not respond so have to use browser which is a nuisance on the go. Tech at the Telegraph have no solutions. Tried uninstalling and installing but no luck. Wonder if problem at Telegraph server end

Always spot on with accurate reporting

just love the reporting and comments. Yes I don't always agree with them but it's the professional way they do it which makes it so much better than the BBC ( which was my go to news site)

I have had it for several years. Simple & effective.

Used to work fine, but on a new phone asked me continually to log in. Now simply won't let me log in at all, despite having a current subscription. I did email for help, but got no response. Not much point in having subscription if I can't get it to work!

Changes regularly, but manages never to improve overall - some things improve, others get worse. Current bugbears include the text box in the comments box being too small and often covered by the on-screen keyboard, also not being able to zoom or click then zoom on graphics within articles - which used to be possible and is particularly annoying for informational graphics that were designed for a larger screen. It's like the article layouts are only checked on a large monitor, if at all.

The app was great until the most recent update when the wheels completely fell off. It won't let me login to my account, with the only alternative being another subscription. Having tried everything else I've had to uninstall simply to be able to login via a browser instead.

The Daily Telegraph Newspaper Reporters, Management & staff tell the real truth about the state of the UK & US nations. Subscribe & Get it now. This app also works incredibly well on our Samsung mobile phones. It keeps me up to date with the latest breaking news headlines 24/7. I cannot fault it.

well? I now cannot log in through the app portal. I may have to cancel my current subscription to repurchase through the play store. still unable to us ethe app which now only shows me the landing page, no options from any menu to log in i just circle back to the homepage. trying to log in to the online site works, but then using an open the app suggestion again leaves me out there.

I used to buy the Telegraph but find the digital app suits me much better. As well as covering UK news it provides up to date news from around the world. Excellent variety of topics.

it's really good to get the news when the internet is available. The puzzles are excellent, and I like the comments section as it is full of like minded people.

I used to buy the broadsheet Tekegraph decades ago and seamlessly transitioned to the digital version on my tablet. That's been a Godsend as the arthritis in my arms has worsened. It would be impossible to hold a broadsheet up now. Fortunately The Telegraph app gives the option to read the news in newspaper format. Instant newsfeed updates are a bonus.

Why can't I have favourite topics? I'm constantly missing news on certain categories, I'm having to search for it. Also, why can't I remove certain topic from my feed? I do NOT want to see football, and yet I'm being fed constant trash.

can't print the crossword anymore!! When you select print it loads the last news item you read instead. please fix. Is working again now.

The app is stable, easy to navigate and I use it daily. Not being able to zoom in on the pictures it's irritating, it's a phone screen sometimes it's nice to be able to zoom in on a picture.
