I went To Josephine's special empanadas And I paid $3.99 for one bag and $5.99 for the other bag , I could not find this place even using my phone's maps , so I was supposed to pickup the $5.99 at 4pm and the $3.99 at 445 pm , so I got there , and there was no proof that I bought the $5.99 one , so I basically paid $10 for 3 very small items , also I used $10 for gas , so for $20 I got 3 items for $10 then gas was about $10 . OMG I just cut one of the empanadas in half and there was a bug in it

It's fun to get a surprise when you're hungry but don't have a specific craving. It also gives you the chance to try new places you might not even have known about.

As a single person who lives alone, I waste A LOT of money and food when I buy groceries. I love the variety, convenience and quality of Too Good To Go. I am able to eat nutritious foods that I wouldn't necessarily purchase. It takes the pressure off of meal planning. I like being surprised. Life can be complicated. This uncomplicates one aspect of my life, and I am grateful.

This was my 1st time to use the app. I wish more places would get involved. I received about 9 various donuts and pastries. Worth using the app to save a fe w $.

Unfortunately this app has very little selection outside of major cities. For example, in Tulsa, there are a few bagel shops, Whole Foods (which is always sold out), and the rest are donut shops/junk food. TGTG needs to pair up with real restaurants in more places to provide a broad selection of actual meals. Also I really hate that this app took away the alerts you used to be able to set for your favorite places!

Value og bags dropped by 2-3x in the last 1-1.5 years! The stores are now splitting bags equally so there's more bags to sell... Before there was like 3-5 bags full of foods, now there's 10+ bags with 2 items and nobody buys them up cuz no body wants 2 sandwiches anymore, when there was 5 before 🤷‍♂️ Fix the policy for user, not the stores! P.S Im still taking my chances here and there, but nowhere as much as before :/

I use the app to save money, but here is the bad part .. if the store cancels, you won't see your money back in the bank until 2 weeks. like, what if that was the last of my money? You're screwed then. I'll be ok. I just want to warn people not to buy the day before, or you might get screwed. It was Longos that canceled

Very first pickup, the store was closed. Called the manager, was told that employees read their schedule wrong and no one showed up. Shortly after, order was canceled. This is not free stuff - I paid and took time out of my way to pick up something I don't normally do, got there early, waited, standing at a place that should've been open, mall security staring me down... What is my compensation for all this? What is my motivation to not throw food stuffs in the dumpster? That's a big fat ZERO×2!

terrible service, dont think you will always get the food you ordered . they take money immediately, however when you arrive at the restaurant/food outlet to get your food, they may have sold out and you get nothing.... they will refund your money within 30 days.. aweful

years ago I used to work in a bakery. Every night. we would throw the cupcakes out because they needed to be made fresh everyday. The employees would take cupcakes home sometimes, but how many cupcakes can you take home everyday? finally, this app comes along. this app is a wonderful idea. that has been a long time coming. Thank you so much! The app works really well.

used to be a 4.5/5 app. But they took away the notifications that a meal was available from a specific vendor. Now 90+ % of the meals I used to get haven't been offered by the vendors. what a waste of what used to be a hood app. ironic since it's supposed to prevent food waste.

Highly recommend for any foodie who wants to try new restaurants or for anyone with any food delivery apps. There are some gems who make full meals, pizzas, etc. Best places are city environments!

This specialty bag was very disappointing. I spent $10 and received 30 pieces of chocolate, .28 ounces each. Definitely not doing this again unless there is a photo of the contents of the bag.

Used it 3 times at 3 differant outlets and it was absolutely discusting everytime. Shady venues use TGTGs platform as a revenue stream rather than a waiste reduction tool. The food is prepared for the cheap service not usually sold for public. Deleting the app

I downloaded this after some adverts on another app I use. Don't get me wrong this is an amazing idea and you will get some good food at a cheap price. However, they give these foods at specific times only for example one of the restaurants offered a meal but you could only pick it up at a certain time which is 10pm until 11pm for some places on the app. Which I get as it meant to be any good that is left over to stop food waste but this isn't for me.

ZERO STARS first of all it's hard to talk to a person because everything is AI. if you miss a bag they refuse to give you your money back because it's "not fair" to multi-million dollar companies. don't have an emergency where you can't pick something up or you'll just be out of money. I don't give a damn if they owe me 25 cents I want my money back if I wasn't able to receive the product and if they're unwilling to give a voucher. 10/10 wouldn't recommend app.

is a fantastic way to feed your family for cheaper and not waste food in restaurants and stores. sometimes you find a good deal for somewhere new and you get to try before spending the actual price, other times I get a good amount of ingredients to make meals for the upcoming days. most shops offer this service and many restaurants too, from grocery bags and bakery items to carvery left overs and rotisserie chicken there is something for everyone

SCAM, DO NOT USE. Some stores do not acknowledge this app and it's services. you get charged for a meal that never arrived. AVOID USING. When I reported this issue, they had an AI bot that was a complete waste of my time. For all I know, they did nothing to address this issue.

Great app but notifications need to be brought back!! Like a lot of other reviewers say, I have other things to do than stare at the app all day!

Bring Back Notifications! I am busy during the day & I don't have time to constantly be opening the app to check if a bag is posted. it seems even as I am doing that now that the bag gets snatched up because it's posted the moment I'm not frequently checking my phone & obsessively opening the app. I've been a long time enjoyer of 2G2G & you used to have to do that back in the day. it was really frustrating. the whole point of a surprise bag is whoever gets it first so notifications are fair IMO

Since the last update, the app is no longer useful since there are no longer notifications for your favourite surprise bags. You need now constant looking into the app to see if it is available. We have something better to do!

the idea is great and I've gotten a lot of good surprise bags and found some new places that I wouldn't have if not for the app. It would help if they post some of the pics or reviews that they ask for after every order. I know it's a "surprise" bag but I'd still like to have a good idea of what is possible

Inherently untrustworthy; they refuse to allow you to see reviews and will only show positive highlights. You'll see average scores of 1-2 out of 5 that will say "great value" and "quick collection". Ironically it is a mixed bag, you will essentially get leftovers, sometimes it will be a bargain, sometimes a complete waste. Dropped a star as apparently now they can cancel your order the minute before you collect, which doesn't help if you're already en route.

on paper it does save you money depending on what you buy as some shops are charging ridiculous prises that bored on 10% extra the regular price but the biggest gripe i have is the notification system as you'll get a ping and by the time the app has opened everything is sold out.

everything is sold out over 12 hours before the pick up time is. it's a joke. plus, in all of Mishawaka and South bend Indiana, there's what... 5 restaurants participating? just very terrible.

Provides a wonderful service of connecting leftover food with the community. Most vendors offer a reasonable quantity and quality at a discounted price. The deals are limited in my area for now, which makes them difficult to snag most days. However, I know the number of them will increase as more vendors discover the service.

It is very difficult to deal with the help section. I ordered a bento bag from Metro along with 4 other bags. The bento one did not appear on my pick up list. When it showed up as this item not being picked up I went back to Metro. They would not honour it because I wasn't able to swipe picked up, even though it showed that it was paid for and not picked up. Trying to explain this to a bot and include all the required information proved useless I kept getting the same responses.

wife sent me a link for something she purchased. link kept taking me to app store so I downloaded and created an account and purchased the things she sent me to find out she already paid for them. so we paid twice and are now refusing a refund for the collection she paid for. fix your links please.

Great way to avoid food waste

aweful new choice, they took away the option to choose what shops yo show. They used to have this feature, but now I have to scroll and scroll past places too far away. There is no way to report shops, no way of blocking, no way to set distance settings. the fact they changed this shows they are turning away from customers and because business focused, they don't care about your time and will continue to make more and more inconvenient features.

I love this app so much. I've saved so much money and it really helps with my financial anxiety. I'm a little bummed that recently they made it so we can't have notifications, but I'll survive. 🥰

Great app, if your area has many participating restaurants. It's annoying that the app is now flooded with supermarkets/groceries - I never want a lucky dip yellow sticker bag, I'd just go and pick myself instead. Wish there was a way to filter groceries out, and cafes to too. It's best with actual restaurants who give our real meals.

I gotta say. It's an amazing idea. I mean, it's been out 4 years. If you knew the store, lived in the neighborhood, were really nice to them or simply looked like you really needed it - all right at closing time, most places would give you so much bec it's basically going to the garbage. Wawa would throw it away no matter what, simply 4 the fact that they didn't want to get sued. From free food would be ironic, but crazier things.. So this App puts all that together in the perfect way!

I miss the notify me setting on surprise bags.

PRO: When available, surprise bags are ia great deal & way to try different things. CON: A store will offer a surprise bag, then cancel the purchase (sometimes minutes before pickup) because there is not enough product. Why offer a bag if you're not sure there is enough product? Becoming more frequent. One store canceled 6 times in the past few weeks, two in one day! I began to do the same if I have multiple SB's at the same location. Can't stand AI customer service! It's annoying to deal with!

Great way to find good deals on food.

What a great App to get cheap food items from different locations. I really enjoy the "surprise" bag aspect of it. You never know what you will be getting which makes it sort of fun. I have made purchases from Superstore, Tim Hortons, High Tide Food Group, and I'm also picking up popcorn from Cineplex tonight. The bags of food have all been excellent so far and the quantity that you get for the price makes it that much better. 10/10 recommend, if you don't have this App, download it now.

the app timed out and took my money, so the store kept the food! I arrived at the location and the app timed out and didn't scan. The employee was unable to give me the expired food and I got charged with no refund by the app. Completely nonsensical.

Good app and an interesting idea behind it. What you get is not guaranteed and not all surprise bags are good. Generally good value for money if you buy from the higher rated shops. Sometimes the orders are cancelled and refunds issued.

constantly cancelling orders, I understand it's down to surplus food that's left but it's down to the point now where either staff are cancelling to collect for themselves, Costa for one cancelling all my orders for a whole week and now Starbucks are at it, either as the host app (toogoodtogo) keep records of how many of these places are cancelling orders so you can remove them from your app, because it's not fair on the customer specifically myself when they are cancelled last minute.

Using this effectively will save you a lot of money.

It is a nice and clean place with several choices to choose from you have a choice to sit inside our outside in the covered patio area. Parking no problem business hours 8 Am - 3 PM.

I like the concept, enjoy using it. however, I'd recommend checking in with restaurants who utilize this service in small town cities. Lately, they have been abusing the platform. Example, I would pay $24 worth of stuff for $9, for food they have not prepared for pick up... I would wait half an hour and they will give me less than $9 for close to rotten food... not even obo $15 or so. I strongly suggest for creators of platform to look into restaurants. Not only my time is wasted but tummy sick.

I love this app, I've picked up so many great things, but the recent updates disabled the notifications for places I pick up from often and now I miss those. I don't really have time to constantly be on the app but also that would drain my battery if I was constantly using it.

the first time i tried this app the restaurant advertised wasnt a real restaurant it was all fake images and the location was a dirty dive bar with no real kitchen, the second time I just tried it advertised (2 pastries valued at 30 dollars for 9.99) after I purchased, the pick up section of the app only said pick up for 1 pastry. theyre regularly 15 for 1 paying 11 for 1 is hardly a discount, and when I tried to use the AI chat bot the app it barely functioned

trash it only gives 4 locations and locations I do not like not worth having on my phone I deleted

I have been able to try out new places add new cuisines for a fraction of the cost most of the places that I have been to so far are places that I plan to return to and purchase some of their other offerings this concept is great for both the buyer and the seller
