I really wanted to like this app but the user interface is just so poorly designed. They don't have a list of recently played songs which I would consider fairly basic. The app is generally hard to navigate and from forums online it's pretty clear that the app has been abandoned. It's great that they pay artists better but I'd rather just buy physical media from my favorite artist than use TIDAL and recommend others do the same.

App hoarded 5gb of "data" in storage. Cleared cache and downloads, no help. Had to delete data on the system end. UI bugs on launch, harmless. Shuffle occasionally stays on when playing an album, mostly on desktop. Staff playlists are much smaller than equivalent user ones (15 tracks vs 100+). Discovery / suggestions could be improved. Podcast support would be convenient. Still one of the most ethical music streaming services, but I've listened to less music since switching.

literally the only reason I keep this app is because the high quality sound. The app layout is nice but everything else sucks. If you plan to find a streaming platform that is offline friendly, this is not it. Even though you downloaded all your music, it will take about 5 minutes for anything to play and you are also guaranteed that the app will crash, daily. For $16 a month, it's actually diabolical. As soon as I find another app that has the same sound quality, I will be swapping over

It seems like you people intentionally do everything you can to make this app as inconvenient as possible. I cant custom order my songs in my playlists. You keep adding songs to my playlists, which then make them your playlists, not mine. And now, right after raising the price, I cant turn a song off. The songs just keep playing with no way to stop it. At least before, even though it was a few steps, I could clear the queue and the song would stop playing. And this is the last straw, I am done.

not sure if it's lacking an update or not (my app says up to date) but lately it does not connect to Android auto, the dashboard doesn't come up on my banner for shortcuts ( play, pause, skip or restart song. ) and sometimes the song will just stop playing in the middle of the song. it's not an internet or data issue. other times it won't even go to the next song on the playlist. real frustrating

It's an okay alternative to other streaming services. It's missing some key features such as easy Playlist editing, a DJ, and support on other devices such as a TV. If they would actively work of improving the platform, I would confidently say I'm a huge Tidal fan. Unfortunately at this point, I consider switching back to another service on an almost weekly basis. The consensus among my family plan members is the same.

this app has been slowly but surely getting worse. recently I make a Playlist and go to edit to change the order of the songs. Nothing happens and get a message to re order your tracks set the playlist to custom order. why would any halfway intelligent person introduce this extra level of complexity? Now I look up a band and find the albums section is no longer available. but an appears on there instead. if I look somebody up I want to see their albums. if this stupidity keeps on I will move

Good, but could be better. First, there definitely needs to be a scroll bar of some kind like Spotify has- I hate spending multiple minutes trying to get to a certain spot on my playlists. Second, the shuffle function is AWFUL. I've never used a music streaming app that was so bad in this regard. I hear the same 60 or so songs every time I shuffle my music, and it will replay songs that have played in the last hour despite my playlist having 600+ songs on it. PLEASE fix the shuffle algorithm!

app has been working a lot smoother as of late, so thank y'all for taking care of that, and another thank you for fixing albums misidentifying with other artists of the same name and allowing us to completely opt out of AI music altogether! Another bug that has been cropping up is when pulling up an artist's page it won't show any of their releases, only their top songs and playlists?

I was excited to leave Spotify behind but this app is not as smooth. Sometimes every song is grayed out even though I have service and other apps are moving data. Also sometimes the app will run even when it is totally closed down on my phone, which is very odd. I got into the settings and discovered AI content is allowed by default (lame) and when I turned it off it suddenly killed the app and everything had to be restarted. Still overall glad to be done with Spotify.

Cost is starting to not be worth the effort. I switched to Tidal for my personal ethical reasons and because I do support artists, I love that they pay more per stream. But it's starting to get out of hand. Two price increases in just a few months? went from roughly $10 to $12, and now $12 to $15? The app glitches half the time, especially when playing music and wifi gets disconnected. often have to close the app and reopen it to fix the issue. The shuffle is a joke. Plays the same 20 songs.

Service is good, but the android app doesn't use the cache for music that you stream, it puts it under "user data". Clearing cached data via the app or Android system settings does nothing. Clearing downloaded music via the app also does nothing to free up space on your phone. I find that if I'm streaming hi-res, I have to clear all user data via Android system settings every few months to reclaim 15 GB... and then I have to re-sign in and manually re-download all of my saved songs. Annoying!

There's a major bug in this app when doing a playlist from an artist. If multiple artists have the same name, all their songs will end up mixed together. This can result in a mess of a playlist with wildly different genres and styles. The app lists all the artists with the same name so it has some concept that they're different, but it seems to be finding tracks based on the text name rather than an artist id. Very frustrating design oversight.

The app is so close to perfect. Streaming music to devices around my house almost works right and doesn't become desynced as often and the app doesn't crash when streaming which are both improvements I was hoping for. Playing music on wifi works flawlessly and even using cellular data works decently at high bitrates. I still get some stuttering at the higher quality audio on cellular data, but that's more likely just network constraints not the app.

sound quality is great, easy interface, expansive music selection. a few things need improving, and I don't know if it's possible. I listen thru Android auto, and the inability to resume what I was listening to when in and out of my car is incredibly annoying. Radio stations based off songs need improvement. I feel like I get the same playlist every time. More "you might like" recommendations based off of what I've listened to would be very welcome.

A few issues: artist mix-ups, that's disruptive, and ai music, it's disturbing. My personal issue is how one of the updates ruined the tablet interface for me. I listen in side mode, for the speakers which makes having the lyrics displayed really convenient, but now that button is unavailable in side mode. Even if you prompt it, you have to clear the cover once you switch modes, and if a song without lyrics available is on your playlist you have to turn them back on. Otherwise, perfect.

I don't like not having an EQ in the app. For the same price as Spotify, which has a decent one v none at all, I think this app should have one. But if the cost of not having an EQ built in means more money for artists and the ability to filter out AI slop, honestly shown upfront, then I'm on board.

Very stable and high quality music streaming with an excellent selection, especially with independent labels. The daily discovery playlist is good at introducing you to new artists you might like rather than pushing big names. It would be improved by adding better ways of following playlist curators like Spotify, and record labels and robust details on artists like Qobuz or, better yet, Roon.

hey, I'm hearing impaired! so far I'm loving the app, it has good quality and it's a bit cheaper than the competitors. it works with Android's sound amplifier beautifully too. The music I've run into doesn't have lyrics, but I really hope in the future they can. Maybe an option for people to submit the lyrics for evaluation could be helpful in getting them out on the platform?

Seriously fed up with playlists not loading in at all except if I scroll painlessly through the whole list. The whole point of using a music streaming app is to quickly put on my music whenever I need and go on with my day, but I can't do that when it takes 10+ minutes every single time I open the app just to be able to put my playlist on shuffle and hear more than 20 songs from a playlist that have near 1k or more songs. I pay for the family subscription and it's just not worth it. Fix the app!

went from nothing to a big something, I've used this app for the last 3 years now and I can definitely say it's become the most reliable music app I know. they add music videos daily, support small artists, and label AI generated music. no more music errors for the last year, the quality just keeps improving! suggestion:an easier way to access videos, would be nice to switch between mp3 and mp4

INSTANT 5 STARS!!! It allows you to filter ok out AI music! It's legit better than Spotify, cheaper, still has a family plan, pays the artists more, has hi-fi options, and has a huge library! The ONLY downside is there aren't really any podcasts, so you need to supplement with something like Pocket Casts, but those apps are way better than Spotify anyways! Tidal is incredible, the subscription is so worth it

Best music app period. well since tidal's tech support seems to suck at the moment. I am unable to like songs. all it says is something went wrong, try again later. I've been dealing with this for months and I've signed out and back in, I've deleted the app and reinstalled it. nothing has fixed it. so I'm pissed off. I've been using tidal solely for 10ish years now and I'm not happy with this. fix it. still can't like songs and no help has ever been offered.

Great quality audio. The App and experience across platforms leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of inconsistency in navigation, available features, etc. - if you are going from Android to Apple TV to PC for example. Additionally the search for Classical music seems to point to too many AI generated items.

Love the App!! Music selection is sufficient for what I need. The sound quality is superb, its even more noticeable when I use a good pair of wired headphones. The UI could use a little work. My main gripes: 1. No easy way to recall the controls while looking at lyrics 2. It doesn't automatically go into offline mode when i dont have online access. 3. No watch app. Other than that, I have no real complaints.

this app actually pissed me off so much I felt the need to come write a review. first of all, half the time the lyrics are incorrect or missing altogether. I have playlists downloaded for offline listening once a week they have to "re-download" (why???) and then, when I'm in a dead zone, the downloads dont exist. this app just kills my data. music randomly pauses. sometimes songs just repeat for no reason. what a shame. it tries to be spotify and is just worse in every way.

When I first installed the app, it was great for the first few weeks. Then, the app got REALLY buggy; my downloaded tracks/playlists would uninstall every other day, and re-downloading would take hours because the whole process would stall completely around the final 10 songs, so I'd have to go back and do it over again. The problem would magically go away and come back every few months, but the cover images I had uploaded stopped showing up and playlists that I've deleted keep reappearing.

So far the app has been really good!! Im impressed by their music selection though I will admit I have not browsed it that thorough. My only qualms with this app are the playlist settings, as I cannot have the songs sorted differently for each playlist (i.e. alphabetical for one and album name for another). That is my only real issue with the app, though I will say that it may lag a bit which was somewhat annoying when trying to load playlists. You can transfer playlists here too!

Bells and whistles don't matter when the core experience is as bad as it is. Both the desktop and mobile app are comprehensively flawed pieces of software which consistently fail their basic functions. Crashes are frequent, Chromecast disconnecting is the norm, and less is provided than any other similar platform.

Tidal as a service is good. I am strictly resting the app here because I wish the app did MORE like their competition. For example, I have a device dedicated to streaming through my stereo, I wish I could open the app on my phone and control the account playback (skip song, select new album/playlist). This would be SO helpful.

Now they want more money for a broken app. App is consistently plauged with issues. Have to redownload entire playlists often. Offline listening is a lie. Simple concept, if the song is downloaded, then it doesn't need to connect to the internet to play, full stop. It's insane how bad this is. The app refuses to play downloaded media without the internet, defeating the entire purpose. In "Offline Mode" half of my "Downloaded" songs are not available. Track stuck in downlaods for years now.

I like Tidal but I am not in love with it. I wish I could give Tidal a half star instead of a whole star. I hope the developer can fix the algorithm with in the app that will allow for a complete playback of a playlist you create without keep repeating some of the same songs. it was recommended that clearing the cache, and removing the next up would stop the repeating of songs. it was also recommended that scrolling to the bottom of the playlist hitting play & shuffle nothing works....

decent streaming app but too many "not available in your location" or "an error has occurred" issues that just completely stops my play list. pre downloading songs don't seem solve the issue, it also takes forever to start playing songs. rather annoying to have to go to my phone to manually skip every other song while working

tidal claims to be a better platform for artists yet they can't even accurately credit the right songs to the right artists. SO many artists have the wrong songs and albums listed under their profiles, and you can't even report it to get it fixed. no option to turn off album cover visualizers despite numerous people asking for it over the years. always buffers when selecting a song or when trying to jump ahead/back in a song. allowing ai music. & the price is going up of course despite all this.

I have used the usual suspects of subscriptions.. multiple times over the last 4 or 5 years. Normally if you have any problems it's due to the device that you are using. My current device pairs better with Tidal & Tidal Connect compared to my other favorite subscriber & their new "connect" feature. I find Tidal to actually sound better than Spotify & Amazon on my current device. I don't care if you think there isn't a difference. Tidal is solid as far as connection & offers millions of tracks.

I've used two different apps for my music in the past two years, and this is the best experience I've had. I haven't had issues finding any of the artists I listen to, only when looking up specific video game OST's have I run into that situation. Best sound quality, especially when you have a wired connection, it also gets pretty loud if you want it to. The main reason I have atuck with Tidal is because they pay their artists more per listen, which I think is pretty necessary.

HiFi Audio for HiFi people, it has alot of really good sounding music and can beat almost all other apps for quality. but the quantity is not there. one type of Genre dominates this app and it's not really the music I listen to. There is plenty of different choices of music but still sometimes feels like it's a smaller App, the design is good but really needs a similar experience like it's competitor with an S where I can shuffle through a auto generated radio with similar music.

5 stars for music quality, 4 for music selection, 3 stars for the app. Sometimes it works, most of the time it can't connect or locate speakers on my wifi network, doesn't track the last Playlist played or track played, and overall is frustrating to use. The app itself isn't intuitive and trying to use it I find myself frustrated and wishing it just would work

iffy on android. doesn't always connect well to car. feels laborious clicking an extra "page" to get to a track sometimes, which takes you to an album? I really like the employee curated playlists and would like to see more stuff like that. would be thrilled to see more localized playlists or personalized recommendations from humans who work at company in the rock/metal section. I also like how the Feed functions and how it brings new tracks from followed artists easily.

Some solid features have attracted me to Tidal and I've had it for some years now like paying artists more than most other streaming services comparatively. But it comes at a cost of inconsistent streaming. When playing through an album, it ofter will stop abruptly at the end of a song and act as though there are no more tracks left, and when bringing up an album often (even with full service) the app will claim you are offline. Good intent but some UI irritants to get over.

Average, but has glitches. I've had it switch itself from playing my playlist straight through to shuffle when I did not tell it to. It also randomly decides songs that I've listened to multiple times are no longer allowed by the label. The fix is to delete the one in my playlist and go search it up again to add back to the playlist. It also "encounters errors" regularly. It's becoming difficult to justify not spending the extra dollar to go back to Spotify.

The app doesn't even have a sleep timer. They didn't have seamless streaming of playlists so each time I want to listen to a different playlist, I'm listening to the same 6 songs of each list because of the algorithm. I'd much rather continue each playlist as I leave and come back to that list. There are several other small minor things but as a music streaming app it's lacking for sure

If I could give half stars, I would go to 3.5. Certainly, an improvement on the competitors. However, there are some issues with artist pages. Either being duplicated or songs being added to artists profiles with the same or similar names. Maybe this is an issue with the AI age we're dealing with who knows, but it would be nice to have someone separate from the artist actually reviewing and making sure data is correct. I would also like to make playlist from artist name

Lovely streaming service, works great, great sound quality. My only gripe is when there's something in a playlist that's unavailable for whatever reason, instead of skipping the track, it usually stops and either requires me to select the next track in the playlist or it just freezes the app entirely and I have to restart it. Makes it very annoying to use while doing something hands on like driving or exercising.

I've been on this for 9 months, switched from Spotify. honestly idk why there is a subscription price- every few songs the app crashes and lags and says "network error" and the only way to get it to work is force stopping the app. it has been this way for all 6 months and honestly as someone who pays for my music to play without pauses/ads- this was and has been a complete waste of money. the music quality is better but IF you get a song to play 💀

Tidal, please take this review seriously. I am an avid music lover, and left spotify for this service. I deeply want to support your service as the only music platform with a backbone in this industry. I want to love this app, but the glitches are unbearable. Downloads won't load when I click on an album. Some downloaded Playlists will load the song titles but grayed out, not allowing me to listen to the music I downloaded. It is a complete mess. I have to constantly reinstall and start again.

Overall, I still like the app, but it's been glitchy since the last update where it skips back a couple seconds or pauses on a song. No real pattern to figure out why, just seems to randomly do it. It's frustrating for a paid service. Sound quality is still amazing (especially in my car with Harmon Kardon speakers). Some songs keep disappearing, which breaks the playing, but a good selection still. I don't know that it's "better" than others, except for the sound.

I switched from Spotify because Tidal pays artists more fairly. Overall, I'm happy, but it is frustrating as hell to use with Android Auto. Here's what I miss from Spotify: "Liked tracks" was listed as a playlist on the main screen. You could shuffle it right away rather than it constantly opening to the first song and having to take extra steps to get it to shuffle. The queue shrinks as you play so you aren't scrolling through a million tracks you've already heard. Autoplay works consistently.

I love the UI. It used to be the best streaming app but as of late songs take forever to play and have errors even with a great connection. Songs just stop playing randomly. I used to give this 5 stars but now it's 2. if they can't fix these issues I have to switch to Spotify. I've been using this app since 2014 with no issues and this year they seemed to have dropped the ball. Really hope the fix these issues because I haven't used any other music app in 12 years.

Quality has gone off a cliff recently. "Could not add to playlist", "Could not remove from playlist", playlists doubling or tripling songs (?), songs stop playing suddenly with "This content is not available" even with downloaded tracks, audio cutting out on multiple wired and wireless headsets AGAIN on downloaded tracks, artist pages showing up empty or missing albums, playing random songs instead of the one I picked, you raise the price by a dollar and make the service worse??

I downloaded Tidal basically to protest Spotify for running ads for ICE. I wanted a more ethical platform for my music. I got that but when using Android Auto, it sometimes takes too long to load a song& I have compared to Spotify when my subscription was still active, Spotify was easily more responsive every time in the same area. The UI on this app does not compare to Spotify's either. it's not user-friendly. It does have a good algorithm for new music discovery tho.

I tried to stick with Tidal, I really did. Unfortunately, this app has been so buggy and plagued with issues that I just decided to try Qobuz since I want a spotify alternative but cant stand having things such as 1. Having an album that I downloaded display No items when I lose signal while driving 2. Different ways of showing sound quality from song to song 3. certain songs causing my earbuds to get disconnected!?! (Seriously, HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO DO THAT?!?) I tried, but I can't anymore

I've enjoyed the overall experience of tidal, with the enhanced sound quality and overall friendly user interface. However, the search function is lacking, and metadata needs attention. Even when searching with song title and artist included, I often can't find what I'm looking for. Spotify is genuinely better on this front. Moreover, the "play song radio" on some of the (albeit more obscure) artists I like gives me completely unrelated artists.

Updated 14JUN App forces animated Album covers to be displayed, with no option to disable. In my experience songs that have this happening causes the App to freeze and crash more frequently. To the point my device is recommending I uninstall it. Downloaded tracks buffer, that shouldn't happen. I've cleared cache, redownloaded items, and the app. I want to keep using, but it's really annoying for a paid subscription. If I didn't hate Spotify so much, I would've already quit Tidal.

I like the app! transferred from spotify because of the ice ads. but the last few days I've noticed I'll look up an artist and there will be alot of content missing. like the albums will be missing but I can find a song and them go to the album but if I look it up through the artist some of the artists won't have any songs at all when they appear in a search. the app is really buggy. I do like that they finally added a lyrics option. I just wish all the songs and albums would appear correctly.

The app feels very clunky and disorganized, not as sleek as others I hate that I can't search in my playlists and have to scroll to find them when I want to add a song to one. Sometimes the song volume is all over the place. I wish there was a mixer function for my playback, so the music would be more seamless. I get an error almost every time I try to like a song and now it just stops working for "net work errors" when there is no problem with the connection. It's not a well functioning app.

Navigation is terrible since the last redesign. The lyrics close every time I try to scroll through them. The window to view the lyrics is too small with the player controls open. The player controls are also difficult to open and close on the lyrics view. More generally, it has become highly unintuitive to use and it looks bad. Why would you use a heart to represent favorites in some places and a checkmark in others?

UI on tablet needs work! Used to be fine but that pesky, in-your-face, now playing bubble (or whatever you call it) is right in the way and covers the navigation buttons which love to hide. This is on a galaxy tablet in landscape which I'm sure is the way most people would be using it. Just fine in portrait.. Please fix it and I will happily change my rating. Bothersome enough that I mostly listen to my purchased music instead.

Switched over from Spotify, but this app is missing a few things. There's no swiping features (swipe to queue, swip to skip, etc.), no hiding a song in an album. There's no back button, so you have to open the little menu to go back for a song. Best I can tell, there's no option to play a playlist and have it recommend songs in between. Just little things I miss. Otherwise, it's great.

Just way behind other steaming services. Missing a lot of music, mobile app won't save what you were last listening to at times, randomly won't play songs in your queue as well. The shuffle feature doesn't seem to work properly as it will pick the same artist(s) in a playlist instead of being random or will prioritize recently added music in a playlist. Really disappointing since I hate apple and Spotify but I can't see myself staying on Tidal.

used for 4 years. its like they hire someone to specifically engineer the worst ui changes on an already unstable app. theres no place for actual feedback. if you got this just because of the rekordbox integration, dont. bite the bullet and download your tracks. the poor ui that somehow keeps getting worse doesn't make it worth any of it. Desktop app is even worse. constant crashes and "ad free" is a joke, they will constantly shove in some random promotion of the month to upload your own track

I've been using tidal for over a decade but I'm getting ready to cancel my subscription because the app stops working so infrequently it has become worthless. I often can't even access my playlist. And other times the songs won't start or will drop in the middle. This is a serious issue that there doesn't seem to be any effort to fix... I don't. recommend this app or Tidal to anyone at this point unfortunately. I had a 5 star review up back in 2019, but that's over now.

I've used this app for close to a decade with no real issue, but things have changed. The playlists CONSTANTLY delete themselves and I'm forced to re-download them. And, of course, you always find out they've been deleted by running into bad service. Another BAFFLING decision they made was to change the artist page. Why do I now need to revisit the page THREE TIMES to get the option to see albums?? This is a music app - why are we making the music harder to access? Who thought this was smart??

Pros- excellent sound quality, huge music catalog, and transferring my playlist to Tidal was a breeze. Update- When I select shuffle for my playlist, I expect to hear every single song before I hear a repeat or at least have the option to select that kind of shuffle. I currently get a rotation of roughly 40-50 songs over and over again. Some songs I haven't heard in months from my playlist of 350 songs. I don't want an algorithm, I want a traditional shuffle.

Overall great music app. there are some updates that are needed. like continuing your play from the last place you left off and a little maybe suggested music being a bit better. but definitely letting you continue where you left off. UPDATE 5/27/26 Mixing up artists on the same profile is getting annoying. a lot of updates are needed.

YouTube Music user. I've read the sound quality is better so I'm 2 weeks into free trial. 1:Doesn't make my car sound like it has a different system but it's crisper than YTM. 2:👎👎Interface. Never resumes where I left off on Android Auto - most of my streaming is in the car. Have to tap each individual song on screen. Two weeks to decide if the sound quality is worth the poor interface.

first, get rid of the AI slop - no one wants that garbage. I've liked so many songs and artists and I hear the same ~10 songs over and over again. Shuffle is basically useless. Every single time I stop listening to music, I need to start over next time I open the app. Why can't I just continue where I left off? The most annoying thing - no shuffle all? I have to choose a mix each time? why no option to listen to a mix of all music I enjoy, like a "quick start"

Mostly enjoyable app but consistently buggy. I've been using it for many years and there's almost always something wrong. The current issue is tracks will pause for a second, randomly, then keep playing. Desktop app is fine but phone has issues. Also never marks your correct place in a playlist while using Android auto, always shows playlist from beginning and you have to find where you're at.

Tidal as a service is excellent. Great value for the quality of music. The Android app is garbage. Downloaded music deletes just because, streaming just gives up for zero reason, playing random songs from a large playlist ends up repeating like 20 tracks, and the quality options for wifi and mobile data don't seem to matter (songs always play at highest quality when I have limited data).

The app frequently just stops playing. It also does NOT play well with Android Auto. It often did not remember what song I had been listening to last, meaning I'd have to browse to find it again. The interface was similar to Spotify, but had little things missing that you would just expect. I've switched to Qobuz to try it out.

the app stops playing midsong. it says to retry, but never works. this has been happening more and more. back in the day, it was just a few songs. now, it's happening with more and more songs. also, your shuffle doesn't shuffle correctly. if i have a playlist with over 400 songs, there's no way that i should hear the same song in a 2-hr stretch, shoot, in a 4-hr stretch. it makes no sense. there are songs i never hear because the shuffle doesn't play all songs. i also hate the new look.

For high quality music, it's definitively the best (and only depending on your standards) subscription out there, as a music app/company, it isn't near the best compared to others, Spotify and the like just have better UX, and everyone knows them, whereas relatively few people can open a tidal link, so sharing is a several minute process. When Spotify hifi drops, I'll be switching out of convenience, even if it is just CD quality maximum

My main issue right now is how there's frequent "connectivity issues". Essentially, the app will eventually stop streaming and stay stuck on a loading screen. So it's hard to listen to an album in full or it'll randomly do it when you decide to select another song to listen to without your connection dropping. My remedy has been to go to settings and force stop the app but I shouldn't have the need to do that. Especially multiple times.

App crashes all the time, a lot of time while driving which is the worst time! It can run smooth all day then have an error for no reason. I really wanted to switch to this platform to get away from all the AI stuff platforms like Spotify have, but until someone works on this app and fixes the bugs on here I'm good.

Janky app, very frustrating to use some of the basic features. If you don't have cell service, you have to manually set the app to offline mode even when you've downloaded your playlists. The search feature is broken most of the time, searching for songs is semi functional but searching in your own playlist is totally broken. I also just had an issue where a downloaded playlist un-downloaded itself and then duplicated every song ten times. The app also doesn't sync with the Web player.

family plan - constantly pauses itself because someone else is listening on another device. even after liking thousands and thousands of songs, my discover daily playlist always shows me things like... The Beatles and rolling stones, like I don't already have hundreds of their songs liked. But ask title to play The White album... and it will find some weird indie cover to give you. can't figure this thing out. running short on patience. cs always has 20 tasks to prevent your resolution. meh.

Terrible experience. I have excellent mobile service and the music is constantly buffering every 15-30 seconds. I am so disappointed. I literally just switched over from Spotify because it's getting expensive and I despise that they're pushing podcasts and other features. I just want music. High resolution. Music. I love the quality. I love the interface. I am upset with the constant interruptions.

Generally speaking, the app works alright. It still isn't quite as fluid or "pretty" as Spotify, but that's okay. However, for some reason it can't figure out how to go back and forth from 5G UWB on Verizon. I constantly have to force close the app and reopen to get it to keep playing. I have wiped my phone with no luck. About to go back to a different service.

Please fix your app. I love the company itself, the quality of the music, everything about it, except the mobile app. It's absolute garbage. Constantly "can't connect" and just stops playing music. Can't search for anything within my playlists, it just says I don't have anything. PLEASE fix it. I want to keep using Tidal, but when half my listening is through my phone in the car, it makes me really want to switch.

This app is terrible on AAOS, it doesn't work half of the time. The most frustrating thing is that it often just hangs when trying to play a song, and suddenly you can't play anything anymore. Not sure what causes this, but this bug has been there forever and not been addressed yet. It's a shame because if it works, the sound quality is great. But that doesn't matter, given how unreliable the app is. I'll switch back to Spotify.

Good music quality, but the app sucks. If a playlist is too big, it will only play music from the first half or so of it. And if the app closes, when you open it again it will continue on the same song, but will restart the playlist from that song so you end up hearing the same songs over and over, but nothing from the rest of the playlist. When I try to scroll through the screen in my car it does a safety pause, then restarts at the top after the pause. Lots of really annoying bugs like that.

It's a GREAT app that has some of the best music quality but it has three issues. The first is the artist identification system as it seems one of my favorite artists is bombarded with irrelevant music from another user/"musician". The second is why I put musician in air quotes, because it appears to be AI music (yuck!) posting daily on a fairly well-known name in EDM. Last is the lack of a report/seek support function for these situations.

I subscribed last year after moving from Spotify and immediately loved the massive jump in audio quality, as well as the suggested tracks feature. But in the last couple months the app has become unusable. I use the phone, desktop, AND the smart tv app, and all of them have been badly buggy lately. I can't listen to more than 20 minutes of music before the app simply stops working. I had hoped it was just a temporary issue but its been going on for a while now. I can't use it in this state.

excellent sound quality, great music selection, however has some connection issues ive noticed. turning on "offline mode" in settings to listen to downloaded music is annoying, and not something ive encountered on any other music streaming app. also, I noticed the end of year "wrapped" was mediocre compared to other streaming platforms, with no easy way to share on social media (i had to take multiple screenshots bc it doesnt even all fit on one screen!)

You can't download playlists. The option is there but the download never finishes and if you try to edit the downloaded playlist the system crashes. The only reset to fix the BS "Network Issues" is clearing all the download data and having to sign back in. Pretty pathetic for basic functionality. I was attracted to the app for their alleged positive politics and support of artists but now I'm considering finding alternatives. Really disappointing.

I am also a Spotify user so coming from that app to TIDAL left much to be desired. 1) Music frequently cuts off or cannot pick up where previously left off due to poor network connection. Not sure if a problem with always on VPN, but I often get network errors in the app. Why don't songs cache? 2) Widget doesn't work to continue playing music without first opening the app. 3) Why is it so hard to edit playlists? Need to constantly reload playlist after making changes. And more issues...

I like it, but it struggles with big playlists, only loading a handful of tracks at a time, limiting the shuffle pool to e.g. artists that start with "A." Searching within a playlist is slow, with no indication that results may still appear with waiting. If you build up a large queue, then pause and come back later, you may lose all that curating work. Adding a track to a playlist does not offer searching, and scrolling through a hundred playlists to find the right one is impractical.

I don't usually write reviews, but the amount of errors I encounter using this app is very frustrating. From "connection errors" when I have full service, to my music stopping every 3-5 minutes and requires me to hit "play'' again when my phone is just sitting there. It's frustrating.

Downloads keeps deleting themselves from my phone. The worst part is that nobody seems to even know what is going on. Really, Tidal as a service is really good, but their app just keeps having these random issues like this that I find unacceptable for a major streaming service, like the quality suddenly dropping, or a song from the previous album playing over a song from the one I'm trying to listen to! Again, major streaming service; shouldn't be hard to get your program working right.

About the app: Editing playlists is a pain. Removing a track jumps back to the top so you lose your place. Shuffle mode doesn't really shuffle. Frequently hangs. When searching for a song title, similar titles from more popular tracks will appear before the exact match. (Which may be many pages down.) About the service: At least it's not 'A' or 'S'. There are lots of missing tracks that are available on other services.

Good library of music, better recommendations, and much preferred to Spotify, BUT you are actively working against the UI. There's no option to sort/search your playlists when you want to add a song to a playlist. Rather edit the playlist and add a flurry of songs at once? Absolutely not an option on Tidal, you have to search for the song, select it, scroll through your playlists, and add. repeat ad nauseum. The app feels actively designed to discourage making and editing playlists.

Downsides are that you can't manage your subscription through the app, and if you're not subscribed, you only get 30 seconds of the song. Upsides are that the sound quality is good, no ads, and playlists are pretty easy to manage. Edited rating because I'm really tired of the app constantly closing itself and interrupting my music.

I switched from Spotify for morality reasons and as much as I want to like this app, it's incredibly frustrating. Songs randomly stop, downloading a playlist is a nightmare (constantly re-downloads same songs and never fully downloads the playlist), songs/eps/albums are on different artist pages for the same artist, the search feature in playlists rarely works past two letter, etc. etc. There's too many issues to be charging what you charge a month.

Whoever is in charge of the home recommendations doesn't fundamentally understand how people discover and listen to music. 95% of this content is so opposite to my play history and preferences that it is offensive and a complete waste of space in the app. I am simply tired of having to navigate away from the home tab to my collection because there is literally never anything on home that I'm interested in.

Unstable with a support that doesn't care. This is the worst software application that I have ever encountered in over 30 years in software engineering. Can't handle queues competently. Can't scroll through your entire library of any kind (album, track, artist, etc) because the software constantly resets and goes to the top of the list. Favorites items become unchecked and removed from the library constantly. And worse tech support is primarily AI driven and the human team couldn't care less.

I can't believe how buggy it is. It's also very often unusable when travelling, even in pretty developed countries like Mexico or Brazil, using the Low setting. I would try to download albums to compensate, but this functionality is also terribly unreliable. Lots of other glitches, crashes, missing functionality. I am on paper happy to support a Spotify alternative, but I've had too many problems for too long and regret switching.

Desperately need to fix showing multiple artists under the same name. Allow me to block artists or something simple like that. edit 2026. on tidal app can't load one of my playlists anymore while in android auto, infinite loading on getting your selection. even when you can load the giant 600 song playlist I can't sort it besides search for letter. noticing some kind of weird AI explicit filter showing up on songs despite allowing explicit content. Meanwhile prices going up again.

Tidal is almost there in quality for me. The only gripe I have is the connection errors that continue to happen for whatever reason. In the middle of listening to music no matter if it's from my playlist, random choice, something new or something old. An error will occur and the music stops on its own at random times. Never had this issue with spotify and I do comprehend the difference of information being processed over the airwaves, but at the same time stop interrupting my jams unexplained.

After having Tidal for several years, I canceled my subscription. The app stopped playing music when I wasn't connected to WiFi even when I had great cellular service (and an unlimited data plan). Only downloaded tracks worked... kinda ridiculous. When I went to YouTube music to stream the same song it played immediately. It wasn't a service issue. I do like the layout of the app.
