Update 2026/11 App broken again. As a person heavily using the hand written input for Japanese kanji, in the previous version we had the option to combine keyboard input (known kanji) with hand-written input (unknown kanji), or to test different kanji variations or check strokes. This is impossible now, as the hand writing option is gone after other input is used.

Too many phrases that people don’t use on the street.

Imagine you have a text which is 10% Chinese and 90% English, and you want to translate this text into another language. Imagine you only want to translate the English part, and keep the Chinese part unchanged. You choose 'translate from English', paste the text into the field, and... nothing. The text in the output field remains in English. Instead, you get this message 'Translate from Chinese?'. Are you kidding? There's 10% in Chinese! I want to translate the English part which is 90%!

Приложение нормальное, но проблема в том, что местоимения переводит не правильно. Мужские местоимения переводит как женские. Или например нейтральные (по типу вы/вас) как женские. Меня это очень бесит, нормально переводить сообщение ботов не возможно. Я точно знаю что дело не в ботах, ведь не может быть такого, что бы все боты где я точно играю за мужчину, писались женские местоимения! Прошу исправить ситуацию.

the latest version released in October basically broke the translation function in conversation mode regardless of the circumstances you're in it will just randomly insert comments of its own that make no sense like good morning would you like the bus schedule. Google AI says it's a glitch you notice they don't mention that in the reviews and they have nothing to solve it. Gemini says the only correction is a downloaded previous version

They removed live translation which was an amazing feature. Now you'll have to take a screenshot everytime you want to translate something, super inconvenient. Edit: Since they added back the feature, it's getting a 4 stars

Please add a feature to sort the "translation history alphabetically by language", rather than just chronologically. This is essential for building vocabulary. * it's literally frustrating to find the words. make this feature available also for "offline access"(I think most of the people also feel this frustrating who use this app offline. even online doesn't possess this feature which I am asking for).

little bit of small errors in translation every now and then but I think google translate is very useful especially if your trying to learn a language or use it for survival and communication. Thank God for this app! 🙏 Update: i don't know how simple features very small, but yet very powerful and simple. Keep getting removed from the app. But now all of a sudden I cannot highlight chinese pinyin under the characters, I have to take a screenshot, little glitchy this app.

update: Just deleted the app due to AI inventions. A translator is not worth much if it makes up stuff. Looking for a non-AI app. Also due to AI it is now VERY slow. How is these improvements?

This used to be the go-to translation app, but with incredibly bad AI and now the new UX from the latest update, it's practically unusable. I had to roll back and tell it not to update, but I know eventually I'm going to have to use something else. A real shame.

Google Translate is incredibly helpful and easy to use! It makes communication across different languages much easier, especially when talking to people from other countries. The translations are quick, convenient, and constantly improving. A truly useful tool for everyday conversations, learning, and connecting with people around the world. Highly recommended!

Google Translate is supposedly able to translate voicemails in split screen. It cannot. Furthermore, it is not possible to speak to select the languages, necessitating endless scrolling. As my phone is a 5G Samsung, I'll presume that is non-functional abandonware, especially as it doesn't appear to be official Google. Deleted.

edit: completely dictates the context of translations as it pleases. It doesn't give a flying fk that you're trying to make a point across. I understand that not all words exist in every language. really annoying completely inaccurate. it's so unreliable and it's not trustworthy. I ALWAYS check the translations by reversing it once the app translates it at first and it's always way wrong. Burn in hell instead of giving us faulty apps that we could depend on but really can't.

I enjoy and use the app so much. I enjoy it having a pretty decent offline functionality. Having Gemini do its job made the app almost perfect! I suggest that the LLM should ask the users to provide the context in cases where the lack of context is highly likely to degrade the quality of translation

since my phones update 2 weeks ago, I now cant use the app. Your Gujarati translation isnt correct at all. it used to be only a little wrong. thanks for nothing when this is the only free Gujarati translator. I would love to help you do your job (im not the one paid to do this) however I unfortunately have to use translate because I DONT know the language. It is my father in laws language and he can tell me it isn't right but he doesnt know English. Hence the reason we use it!

if I paste long text so first time this perfectly work but second time I put the long text the original language is working but the translate is not spoken I have to keep installing and uninstalling this over and over I think new update is with bug or error

Always double check meaning, as app has problems with he/she gender transposition and conflation, and opposite meanings of intentions can occur in complex sentences. otherwise it is fine for simple everyday use.

The 'More Translations' feature needs to be added for languages other than English. Currently, 'More Translations' only appears when translating from English to another language or from another language to English. Update: It's been over a month and I only received a generic bot reply from Google, but no actual feature update. Reducing my rating until this is fixed.

[New Update, 271026, Av13, ASUSCX15] On the Chromebook, this app isnt worth a dime. It crashes and pops up notifications which slow the Chromebook down a lot. I tried to use it side by side trying to translate a poll inside of a web game into another language, but it kept crashing causing a lot of problems.. every other Google App doesn't do this. That's basically how Google works. A Windows PC would never cause thus many problems.
