For video ideas, I used to write and draw everything on paper until now. The tutorial videos are a bit outdated to the current version, but they are still very helpful and this app. is far ahead of anything else out there for this intended use. Apps take a lot of work to create so I think $20 is a fare price to ask. I am very grateful that it's not a subscription base payment. Apparently, the developer is working on a new version and I am excited to try that one. Thank you for a fantastic app..

Poor app stop westing time

9 yrs later. Crashed at startup. Crashed my phone. Had to remove/reinsert the battery to get my phone back. Basically took my phone hostage. No need to contact me thanks. Goodluck. Grt for my exp lvl (Adult student- screen and media). This has so much potential to becoming a fully fledge post/production app. (#sometimes, if I focus real hard, brilliant things appear in front me).

terrible app! on some of my devices it wont work at all just a white screen (like many others) but on my pc it does work but its horrible, terrible UI. things arnt clear, inserting a background image doesnt work. its not intuitive at all. been a waste of my time trying to get this working or doing anything useful. not to mention you cant save without paying for pro. but theres no way im paying for something that doesnt even work properly.

Doesn't work. I paid for the pro version and it doesn't allow me to register or sign in. I tried Uninstaller it and redownloading it and only get a blank screen. Tried using on laptop and only can use the free version, won't let me sign in there either.

This uses simple shapes that you can do with just about any graphic software is also very limited, and very expensive a whole $20 for this! Think about what else can you get for that same price that would be better in fact canva or gimp or krita which are free and give way more and better tools and options than this! This here is not worth the asking price for what it those! Very cheaply made Not even worth $10! Has some potential but the price is what kills it!

Terrible, flat out bad for the fact it promotes storyboard creation, and its not obvious how to add a stpryboard. Nowhere can i fimd anything that relates to adding a storyboard. For this i do not recommend.

Creative, Unique and Different App to show your view and vision on paper. Props and film accessories utilization is the best part!

This app is over priced. It doesn't worth even 300 rs. They don't have varieties of lights logos, there aren't enough sets. They don't have even a basic light logos, they should atleast have skypanels, HMIs logos. This app doesn't even deserve 1 star. I prefer to use photoshop, and download logos of lights for free, there are tons of them online. And use them in photoshop. Don't download this third class app which is paid for 1750 rs. I wasted my money. I had to buy because my DOP demanded.

A bug in the app prevents me from logging in as I can't access the field where I have to type in my password. There's also an orientation lock for some weird reason.

What happened? The PNG used to be transparent. Now its not anymore.

Pls remove the pro version. We can only create one scene if we don't upgrade to the pro version and it's too expensive.

Wasted Potential 😕. You can't save, share or export your edits (Scenes), unless you buy the Pro Version and it's not cheap. If it weren't for this, it could have been the best or the most useful app for floorplanning. I love the features and functions from the app, but it's hard for me to give 5 stars to the app and sweap the faults under the carpet.

It needs UPDATE! I have the Windows version and it works, but I can't sync my data on this android version! This suck, specially when you buy the pro version but it still won't work. I love this app but, come on Hollywood Camera Work!

Hasn't been updated in almost 2 years now, interface is terrible and it shows. I couldn't even sign up for an account because the app stays in landscape with no rescaling. Got my refund after 5 minutes of using the pro version. Maybe I'll give it another try if the app interface, at the very least, can rescale.

Loved the app (yet to upgrade to #pro), does the upgrade come with a validity/is it for lifetime?

Cannot get past the sign-in. Keeps saying it won't let me do so, and sends me to the website. I have an account, I've activated it through my email, still won't let me sign in.

Have been using this app for years and it still gives me the perfect shots for a project to begin with. So far so good, nothing wrong, easy controls, user-friendly UI and much more. I recommend this app if you dont know how to start a film project, it really helps alot! 😀

Really odd that there's no way to show overhangings from buildings and there is no way to show stairs. There's a bare minimum of props and set pieces to use, is there a way to import your own props because that would make the most sense

Very poor functionality. Only "floor plan" of scene, without add several scene in one project. Lack of storyshots, you need to download shots by image files. Uncomfortable for all viewing the scenario.

Lovely app

The touch interface is user hostile and it's near impossible to select what you want in a busy scene. It takes 45 minutes to set up with this software something you can draw on paper in seconds. This is a good idea because laying out your shots is a good idea, but I find the software gets in the way of actually doing that. It's super frustrating when camera tracking involves tapping six things when you just need a line to exist. The whole control point scheme is a tap click nightmare. Glad the software exists, it's just a productivity killer on my set.

It is not really a free app. I was starting to like it... then when it came time to save my scene... no idea one has to pay $20 for a version where it csn save yout files. App is copl. Just not worth pay $20 fpr sonething i do in a simple photo editing program which alreafy comes with my computer.

Help is useless. You try something and you're boy really sure if that's can be done. And can't save it and see if that's okay: no saving unless you buy it (20$!). Well, should have told me before I downloaded it, idiots.

I liked it at first but after doing one scene and doing another i found out I couldn't watch them play as to give me a rough draft out the video. I do music videos so I was going to use this app to help set a story up but it didn't work the way I thought it would

Fairly well done interface which is mostly intuitive makes it easy to design simple or complex shots quickly. The sync solution uses Dropbox, so you have to have a Dropbox account in order to sync across devices, which is annoying. At the very least, it would be nice to be able to choose a file share provider, such as Drive or whatever. You can't batch export scenes, which is already a pain for the short I'm working on with < 10 scenes. I can only imagine trying to do a feature length film with this and having to manually export 100+ scenes to PDF to be able to print and share with the crew. I imagine if anyone is actually using this for big productions they either share a Dropbox account across the whole team and bring their devices on set (which is probably not a bad solution anyway) or some poor intern spends hours exporting files. At any rate, a batch export feature seems to be a glaring omission. Other than that, a very useful app, and I hope to watch it improve moving forward.

Shot Designer makes me feel like a director of photography which is something I like. It feels fun to place the cameras and get good angles of the action. In this app, you can move the characters, place props, and design the set. That's more than what I asked. This could've been a great app but of course they have to blow it by not allowing the most important thing: saving. Paying a fortune for 'Pro Edition' is unacceptable. At least a five slot save and I'll be happy. In fact exchange the props for save.

Indian movie shots

One of the most useful app around for Directors, DPs, Gaffers and everyone in between. A 1st AC pulled this out on prep days and I was sold. Been trying the free version for a few days now and just about to get the Pro vers. Hyper intuitive and very easy to layout a shot/scene. The shot list is also really handy and upgrading to the Pro version let's you export layouts and shot lists in jpg, PDF and worksheet formats. Nice one...

This was a great idea until I had to pay. Some people, such as myself, don't have the money to pay for every scene. I don't even have a credit/debit card to pay, in the first place. All I want is somewhere I can write a storyboard for a 6 second video and save it for shooting it later.

this app should get 4.9 star. but only one prb makes it so bad. no one work only one scene in 1 day. we did all shot division in 1 time, its not like that, one done thene I handed another work. when the director says what's the plan for nxt scene? what should i say " give me some time, i m working on it on the spot?... plz slove it as soon u can. its a very usefull for us. Such a great app, makes communicating with crew and Directors so much easier, the interface is very easy to use and instinctive. A few more props would be good but its no big deal.

Its for professionals but its expensive for a mobile app. Dont bother with the free version like I did, you cant save your work. Its good for camera blocking, yet I prefer Celtx

I love this app. 5 stars. The free version is a good introduction but if your serious, the paid version is well worth it. It really is quick, and after learning the in's and outs it is intuitive. They really have thought of almost everything. The desktop version ( I have a Mac Pro) is just as good. I hope they continue to develop it, like adding more props (hint: like Celtix props) and maybe a way to tie it into the pages of your script. Nevertheless, well done! I hope their support is just as good!

The movie creating it's so simple.how nice effects

I bought it with my iPhone and it stopped working few minutes later. I sent a message and they answered that the problem could take a week to be solved. I had taken pictures on the set so I downloaded the app to samsun S3. They sent me a code to be placed in somewhere in the app that doesn't exist in the app version for Samsung S3. So I have spent time trying to solve this problem but it still unsolved. So I highly not recommend you to pay for it until it works for free on your device.

I can understand your marketing this for the price you have, but for the purpose of proving stability in program; you need to offer holding one saved work. Let us see if it works when we get back to work on it. The $ 19.00 is a lot for a mobile app. Personally; I've been burned to often.

I just really wish it would save everything online though. Going back and forth between my phone and desktop with emails gets a little annoying. Other than that, nothing worth complaing about. Very helpful when making sure the dp and director are on the same page.

App will not install on my tablet or phone. Keeps on sending "error" messages about insufficient space on my device. I have 16Gb space. How much space does this app really use?

Perfect app for what I was looking for. I bought the full version and it was money well spent. My only concern was that if you have a lot of shots in your scene with a lot of motion with actors and cameras then the PDF that gets emailed to you can be complicated to look at. Is there a way to have the diagram for each individual shot emailed? I've been taking screen shots of each number in the timeline.

Sometimes I just have to make a single lighting plan for a DP that is filling in for a day. seems there is no way to label the camera settings to the camera icon ... Kind of annoying. Also can't figure out for the life of me how to make arrows. I need to make labels for each light informing the DP which light is what but for some reason the labels float above the light rather than linking to it with some sort of indicator such as a line. otherwise it's a great app!

Absolutely love this app.The desktop component and Dropbox sync are great and makes using the app very easy. I made this a requirement for my film students.

It doesn't prepare a storyboard in classical representation as a ready to print PDF. Otherwise Shot Designer helps to interactively visualize actors and cameras disposition in every second of your scenes. Additionally there is a a desktop AIR-powered version bundled with the app. And it's free for those who purchased Android version. So it's nearly perfect. Only lack of updates lets worry.

Super app for film makers

I'd tried the free version a few times, and couldn't really get around the set creation with my thumbs however; I tried a stylus and this app became incredibly powerful incredibly quickly allowing me to map out all the shots for a TV show in a few hours.

This is everything I need with being a first time producer. I like that I'm able to use my tablet or PC.

This app is amazing. For most of my shoots I run with a small crew so having this is like having another member on the team. Timing and planning of each shot has been so much easier. I highly recommend this app for every film maker! Keep It. @keepitfilms

This app is with the price. It let's you to visually show your camera placement, blocking, and lighting setups. Is super easy to use and love that you don't have to pay extra for the desktop version. Your saved scene sync up through Dropbox so you can work seamlessly between tablet and desktop. Both work and feel the same way unlike many apps where the desktop version is an afterthought. The video tutorials provided help you start using the app immediately. Recommend for any director or cinematographer.
