This application is very good in security issues, communication but has some Major bug issues failure to give notifications that a message has been received until you open the application itself meaning push notification is not working properly, also voice recording is very poor with scratches sounds, and when you view old messages and tried to come back to recent messages it will be dull screen. kindly check ✔️ and update this problems. Thank you.

Special text options like bold, italic, etc and extra features like drawing sometimes won't appear properly, especially on mobile. Between devices there are strange differences in features (e.g. on desktop, you cannot draw and only on iPad there are options to change brush size). Security is iffy as you can just search anyone up when adding friends and see their username and profile. Notifications don't send frequently, even when turning on the wire server. Shame because this app has nice UI.

App is good but UI should display "Last Seen" and "Online" like in whatsapp and also entire backup of all conversations should be there to any online drives. Dear App Dev Team, If possible give a facility to show diff last seen times to diff ppl...hahaha 😂 you know what i mean!

I like it better than Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and Signal. It's easy to use and the UI is simple and intuitive. However... I wish there was an option, when signing up, to use a phone number and not require any password. Currently new accounts require an email address and password. Maybe I missed it, but I can't find a way to change the font size in the chats. There is an option to display your own QR code in the app so someone else can scan it, but there is no feature in the app to scan it.

Works but needs fixing. Sound notifications don't work but the worst issue is that the app is causing the android smartphone speaker to turn off and the only way to get it working again is either to reboot the phone or to Force stop the Wire app. Please fix it.

I am not saying it's secure and privacy protected like "SimpleXchat" but it's much better than other options available on the market. But it would be good if they add some features like "Dark Mood, Call, voice record, decentralize system like "SimpleXchat", more security even nation state hackers will find it difficult to hack it." 😊👍

on new motorola g60 after update to android 16 is crasing after start. This behaviour was repaired by leaving Beta testing, but I lost my previous conversation (under the same account).

if you've been asked to install wire to communicate with somebody over something you've supposedly won or some type of giveaway, you're being scammed.

good idea, however unless the other user opens their app they won't see any messages I sent to them. this makes it impossible for me to reach out and talk to any of my contacts.

Slow to sync and receive messages, clunky, no search feature, and lately the app suddenly showed messages from a long time ago and suddenly takes so long to backup conversations. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app already but backup still takes forever, like 20 minutes. Used to take just a few seconds. Feels like a bad college thesis project, TBH. Quite a hot mess.

It looked great, it felt great, it worked great until it didn't. Apps keeps aggressively closing, very long decrypting messages sequences, and delays in receiving and sending messages. I really wanted to like this app. But I know its open source, so I'll be patient.

no messages sending to my wire accounts. because usually somebody will talk personal things and not actually talk about self but blame the person for everything else. it's mostly not physical written things either I believe.

love the idea of having something privately and secure, European. I would love to replace it entirely, but my friends and family have a bit of complains for - Unable to rename my contacts. Having multiple e.g. Theodor, doenst help. neither calling my mom after her nickname. - Stickers maybe? While having the emoji, I personally miss the personalized stickers and images - Impossible to send a photo/image document to multiple persons at once. (Unless there is a group)

App is broken. Waiting for a network message and no connection. I tried everything. Web sockets on. Battery optimisation for Wire off. RAM boost off/ on. Reset cache. Restarted phone. Background data permission on/ off - nothing. Tried reset via Airplane mode. Unrestricted data usage on/off. Wifi off so just LTE remained. LTE off so just wifi remained. Google Play cache off to reset connectivitymanager. And few other things. A couple updates back it seemed to work. Now it is a brick again.

Wire provides me a private source of written and telephone communication with my significant other, while we are apart. I completely trust Wire for privacy, dignity, and clear communication. 5 Stars !!!

Wanted to like Wire, but it just feels like a worse version of Signal. The app is clunky, overcomplicated, and not nearly as intuitive. It tries to do too much instead of focusing on being a great secure messenger. Signal is faster, cleaner, and way more reliable. Everything just works, and it actually feels private. Honestly, there’s no real reason to choose Wire over Signal.

Sorry but this is a less useful kind of app. It is simply not very reliable.

This app is great but the UI in person account is too old. video call quality is okay but we can't massage during video call.

Very easy app to use and I would highly recommend it for these reasons. 1. Secure and Private. I used to use WhatsApp thinking it kept my information private but too often it did not I have never had a problem with this new platform. 2. Easy to use and Understand 3. Perfect if you're looking to keep your privacy private. for these reasons above I give it a five star. I've never had a problem with this app. Highly Recommend.

I am giving this app five stars for a very special reason. This app has truly changed my life. It is an absolutely amazing and unique app. I proudly give it five stars!

New phone, still the same "setting up the app - waiting for network" bug so I literally cannot access my account and messages lmao My account is cooked, not because it's deleted or anything : wire just refuses to let me connect back to it. After looking online it's clear that this is a widely reported issue but Wire doesn't seem bothered by it as it's nowhere to be found in the troubleshooting guide that doesn't exist. The people behind this pathetic app are a bunch of clowns.

app background internet no connected and msg seen after hours

Currently the system frequently disconnects from the server and messages just do not go thru for hours or days, there is no way to tell if the connection is bad other than killing the app and clearing the cache to start it up again.

There are periods when my sent messages don't appear on my phone. And there are times when the receiver doesn't receive messages sent from my new Samsung Galaxy S25. To make matters worse, if you send a request for help and it happens to be after hours, you won't get a response back.

Annoying app - I'm not able to turn on notifications, the only ones I get are when I'm using my phone and there's a pop-up for a few seconds about a new message, then it disappears completely. Phone settings are okay, reinstalling the app doesn't help. It's constantly "waiting for network", messages I send don't show up in the chat until a few minutes later.

Upon launching the application, it displays a prompt stating “Please wait, we are setting up the app for you” and then abruptly terminates without warning. The app consistently crashes during the initialization phase, rendering it completely unusable. Kindly address this critical stability issue at the earliest.

There's a lot going for this app, but it just isn't reliable. It's slow, often displaying "decrypting messages" which should not take so long and should not occur so often. Also, the app gets stuck "waiting for network". This happens even with perfect connectivity. Clearing cache helps for a minute, but the bug returns. With every update we get regressions. It's unfortunate, but I'm still hopeful they will provide a reliable app some day.

I like the app but it has a major problem. I have to restart my phone every few days as messages don't always come through. Once I restart, the messages appear. and it's not just my side, many of my contacts have the same issue. I hope they can get this fixed up before I have to move on to something more reliable. Edit: STOP LYING AND TELLING PEOPLE THAT YOU HAVE FIXED THIS ISSUE, CLEARLY IT IS NOT RESOLVED

function's very well, I have never had it crash. matter of fact the only issue I have had was no sound on notifications. simple solution check phone settings and app settings easy fix. secure and no ads or spam

I love this app but from about one year I still see "waiting for network 🛜". Even after the last update. I was removing and installing app many times, and logged out / in.

App is unusable. I log in and it goes to a screen that says "please wait while we set up the app" and then either freezes on that screen or the app crashes and it boots me back to my home screen. Cannot actually use it.

Updating my 2 star review to a 1 star. Wire is now garbage. I have to force stop and restart the app at least once a day to ensure that I receive messages and messages are sent on my Pixel 8 Pro. A messaging app that you cannot rely on to send and receive messages reliably and on time? That's a useless app. 14/05/2023 What's new in the May update is functionality I loved disappearing. 😡 In app voice recording has gone. Great when it works. Recently on android we don't get notifications. Myself and 2 of my friends both have androids as well and we all have issues with notifications.

I love the app. But I have noticed yesterday and today it tells me waiting to connect to network. I'm connected via WiFi and mobile data but nothing.
